Wife and I have gotten massages here a few times in the past and have never had any issues until yesterday. We arrived, paid up-front. (which we were expecting; that is how they operate) I normally leave a cash tip, but did not have any cash on me so opted to leave a tip on my card; tip amount was just over 20%. The lady who ran my card gawked and told me I had to put a larger tip. I was a little baffled and after a few seconds of awkward silence I offered $10 more and she responded with an annoyed sarcastic laugh. So, I decided we weren't getting a massage. Crossed-out the tip, wrote VOID on the receipt and told her to cancel the transaction. Went to tell my wife, we both got dressed and left. Was very embarrassing. It is unfortunate, as we have always enjoyed coming here but it doesn't look like we will be returning. Credit card transaction still shows "pending" so it doesn't look like they've voided it yet... I decided to try this place out due to Massage Green Spa recently closing suddenly. The price was right and the Yelp reviews looked good. Look, I have no desire to hurt a small business, but I'm a little shocked none of the reviews mentioned the following information. If you're used to receiving massages from a trained massage therapist, please read on. 1. I had to pay before I got my massage. That's never happened to me before. You do tip after the massage. 2. I was left totally naked except my pubic area the whole time! No sheets or towels were given except one small thin one covering down there. Good thing I worked through my nudity phobia years ago by giving birth nude in front of strangers. Twice. 3. She massaged my chest and stomach - another first. Usually massage therapists avoid these sensitive areas. It was odd and a bit uncomfortable. 4. My masseuse Bunny seemed nice, although she didn't speak much English. As far as the massage went, it was fairly typically surface level and mechanical. They're not trained massage therapists, after all. (Still, I tipped my masseuse generously because I can't imagine going to another country where you don't know the language and hanging out all day/night in a dark hole in the wall, massaging foreigners.) Only reason why I'm Giving a bad review today is because yesterday I went in to get a deep tissue massage and the lady who was going to do my massage kept bugging me to tip her more and this is before the service!!! I usually pay after and I like to tip after services have been done. She told me to tip her 20$ on top of the 80$ I'm paying already. I still gave her a 10$ tip and she kept saying minimum tip is 10$. No ones ever said that to me. This annoyed me and I'm already in a lot of pain. The massage was horrible, worst one I've ever had. She didn't know how to massage or what she was doing. I think she was being lazy. She was literally rubbing my skin the entire time and not even giving me a proper massage. Yelp comes through with another win! After crushing personal records in the gym for three weeks in a row, the soreness was hard to ignore. I searched the key word "massage" and read reviews from 15 businesses. Harbor Massage had my favorite reviews. I called and made a same day appointment. Located in the crowded Good Will shopping center at the corner of West Capital. The inside had mirrors for windows. I was the only one in the lobby. In less then 30 seconds I was greeted with a positive personality and felt welcome. The room was clean and comfortable. I chose "hard" for the one hour massage to work the knots in my shoulders, chest and triceps. Bunny's was a former swimmer in China with iron grip hands, yet soft to the touch. If you need an hour-long gentle rub on your back, this is the place for u. It was the most bizarre massage experience of my life. I feel so frustrated and baffled by everything about this experience. The lady I had spoke zero English. The other lady said her name is Cece. The bedsheet has stains on it and the towels smelled old and muggy. I kept telling her I was in lot of pain from muscle tension and knots and I needed a hard massage. "Harder" was the only word she knew. But when I told her that, she looked bewildered at the thought, and pointed to her forehead as if to say, "but I'm sweating!" She was sweating bc she doesn't know how to massage- she put in a lot of effort for very little pressure. Didn't use her hands or elbows but stood around the table using her forearm to gently rub my back in circles with oil while my toes froze in the very un-soothing, noisy room and while ladies shouted at each other thru the door. She only used this one method (forearms ) and did NOTHING ELSE. Aaahh! It was HORRIBLE. I feel MUCH worse for having laid there in frustration for an hour! I try to be polite and a good customer because they're just people trying to make a living. I left a $10 tip for a lousy experience from clearly an UNTRAINED RANDO, and the front desk woman told me, "how about $20?" When I said no, she said, "most customers leave a lot more tip." Whaat??? What kind of business is this??? Do NOT go here because of the cheap price! It's such a waste of time and ur better off using a foam roller or your own two hands. read more

Just got another terrific massage, this time with Bunny, she asked how I would like the massage soft medium or hard, oh yes I need led a tough massage, and she did not disappoint me. I've had pain in my arthritic ridden body for some years. She applied extra treatment to the spots she noticed that were painful. Yes and got most of the pain relieved. I'm feeling very good right now. Oh there is plenty of parking as it is a large complex that mostly shuts down a round 6 pm. So I naturally gave her a good tip. And though her English is not very good it's good enough to know a good compliment when it is given she is very strong and very good in the craft of massage. Been twice in the last week, first was Fifi second was Helen. Each time I walked in there was no wait. Both did great work. The tables are not the plushest, but that is to they can climb on the table to put extra pressure on your massage if you want it. for $40 an hour I did not expect plush. I did not expect such a good relaxing massage either. by relaxing i mean they actually worked the muscles, not just a Swedish rub down. I will continue to go back, especially since the location is convenient. The 3 stars are for the massage I paid for the 90 min massage the lady kept leaving like every 15mins she was leaving I was left in a dark room for 15 mins before the massage like a pitch black room! She did this weird flop thing on my back like payed her body on my back and flapped her legs on mine. Totally weird!! Then at the end asked for a tip I gave her $15 she said oh no no $30 she said it's not a restaurant I said charge me for 60 mins then and have the rest of that for your tip since I didn't get the whole 90 mins. Was in such pain from working out so seen some reviews of this place. I just drove there and walked in. It was empty and the woman there took me right away for massage. Yes you pay in advance. I had Bunny and told her my shoulders need work. She ran in the back and got some ointment and used that with massage. She told me too many knots!! Ok run of the mill Asian massage. The staff used to be good but they now have a high turn over with young women that really are not well trained for massage. The entry is dark and foreboding with a one way mirror looking into it. No chairs for waiting of music. Seems like a prison guard will be stepping through the door to escort you to your cell. It is a hit and miss if you can get a good massuse and I can only rate it 2.5 stars now. Parking can be a real problem as this shopping mall massage store is located among many stores that need far more parking than what is available. One bright spot is that if Linda is there ask for her as she does a good massage and is a very nice and fun lady to talk to and if it was not for Linda I would have to rate this place 1 star. read more

I asked for a $50 1 hour deep tissue massage. First of all the customer service sucks. Did not say hello or ask how I was doing. My therapist kept going in and out of my massage to answer the front door and the telephone, and when she came back to massage me, she did not sanitize her hands. She spent 30 mins of the massage just trying to stretch me (from what I felt). In and out of the room like 10 times. There was maybe 15 mins of elbow and forearm, but alot of rubbing and sliding her hands across my body. The massage sucked so I attempted to give her $7 tip, she looked at me and said massage was hard, in other words she wanted some more tip. If the massage was good I would have given her $15-20 tip, but it wasn't. As I was walking out one of the other therapist was in the hallway and they spoke in their language (I'm pretty sure they were talking shit) but whatever. I went here on the spur of a moment. I've had an issue with stress in back pain and carrying tension in my neck. Having read the reviews here, I was nervous, but I couldn't find another place that could take me on short notice. When I got there, the people were extremely kind, the rates were very reasonable ($40 + tip for 1 hour). My neck and back loosened up considerably, and I got relief from a tension headache.
