Completed an intro class with 9 year old beginner. As much as I want to like this place my 1st encounter was not pleasant. 1. Walked in with no greeting . In fact not even a lift of the head to see who walked in 2. Admin Melissa has a poor nasty attitude. 3. They told me my daughter would be called into the class and was never called. I had to ask 6 minutes into the class 4. Met coach Wendy whom my daughter later shared was mean 5. Back to Melissa.. I inquired as to why the 1st class was 130$ as compared to the subsequent. Intensity has been great! My daughter has been cheering (flying) for a couple of years now but we felt like she might have outgrown that team and needed some more specific training. Intensity is conveniently located and the process is comparable to other gyms in the area. She takes a flexibility class with Coach Janelle and a flight school class with Coach Hugo. They are both amazing! She's been training with them for about 6 weeks and has already improved both flexibly and core strength. My daughter was an athlete at Intensity Athletics for 2 years. It was the worst experience. My daughter is suffering from low self-esteem, no confidence, and how mean her teammates can be. This gym, the coaches, and the owner, Sumer, plays favorites. Let me explain. Every athlete has a spot. Whether it's a flyer, tumbler, or a base. A few girls are shoved to the back, in hiding. This gym allows bad behavior (a girl 13 years old, brought her phone with herself and a boy sex video, proudly showing other girls of all ages, with no repercussions), mean girls and their moms, and coaches nor the owner make themselves available to seek resolution for problems. One thing that really bothers me is that the coaches accept bribes (or continuous gifts throughout the season). YES, money, bills paid, travel expenses, clothing, amongst other things. It's all about the money. Everyone is expected to raise funds for a raffle. Minimum $50 goes to the gym for the end of year banquet and the rest of the funds for each team. The team mom handles and decides how she will advocate the funds. No transparency, no accountability. I can say that one team was quashed. Those funds went to the gym, not the athletes that raised the money. With cheer being one of the most expensive sports, why didn't the girls get the funds added onto their accounts. Also, when your girls arrive at a competition, they are supposed to be safe with the team mom and coaches. However, young girls have been left behind. It's not good. And again, there is no accountability. Girls are not bound as a team. The mean girls are allowed to tease, use vulgar language, and call girls they don't like names. They always leave out a girl or girls, not allowing them to be part of the group. This gym and our society are the reasons these kinds of people grow up to be snobby and mean. Can't we teach our children better? Our kids are supposed to be considerate, respectful, and empathetic. Sumer, the coaches could use some lessons and stay true to the carriage of contract we ALL sign. What we did get out of this gym is to know when a place is toxic and so negative, it's time to just walk away, tear up the contract and find a gym that treats "EVERYONE" like family, not just another dollar sign. I recently took my girls here to do a trial class. We got there 15 min early only to wait outside. There was another girl outside with two younger girls who was apparently the sub for tiny tots. She pointed to a car saying "we are waiting for her to let us in" when all along she had the code to get into the building. We get in and we're barely greeted. For my younger daughters class, we went into a smaller room. It was DIRTY. Hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. My middle daughter got injured and no one asked if she was ok and no one told me about it. My older daughter said she told the coach and he did nothing for her and didn't tell me.We weren't introduced to their coaches and for it to be their first time, they had no idea who the coach is, what the coach looked like or even the coaches name. We are going back to agility kids. Double the price but worth it. read more

We paid a lot to get my daughter enrolled in classes and ready for a season and she snapped her wrist right after starting. While I understand you sign a contract about payments, injuries, no refunds etc. there is always room for being a good business or looking out for others over just money. My kiddo snapped her wrist nearly in half and couldn't do anything for nearly 6 months and even now she is barely getting cleared to do anything like sports and such (it's been almost a year in April). The wrist breaking scared her bad and now she's too afraid to go back to cheer in fear of it breaking again. When asked if they could refund our money because obviously times are tough right now they said they would just have to put it as a credit, even knowing my daughter said she does not want to go back because she's afraid to break her wrist again. While I get that it's a business and they don't have to refund it; it would have been nice to have them allow it because her injury isn't something we had control over and that money we spent could have really been used elsewhere with prices for everything skyrocketing. They definitely seem to prioritize money and greed over anything. I even gave them a long time to see if the owner would agree to the refund for this circumstance like they said they would and was then just never called or written back. Really sad to see in this day and age, but now I will not refer anyone here because they don't really seem to care about the kids and only money. read more

This coach is amazing, she not only knows how to work with the little ones to keep them engaged, she really taught my daughter alot. If I could give more then 5 STARS I would. We are apart of the merge from Surge to Intensity and our Daughter just loves it. To our surprise Intensity is very family oriented. We didn't expect that from a bigger gym but were pleasantly impressed!! The staff is amazing, friendly and greeted us with open arms. Their always willing to help with any questions. They honor government discount which is a plus in our book. The office is very busy so I usually drop her off and head to Von's down the street for groceries. I do wish Tumble Class was twice a week or longer. I feel this would give her more time to practice and provided her with the confidences she needs for competitions. What started out as a good experience quickly turned into heartbreak for a 10 year old girl. She was struck in the face by another athlete during practice and when she finally spoke up, the staff did nothing about the situation. Turns out the coach was more concerned about her friend rather than dealing with the situation professionally. My daughter was pulled from nearly every part of the routine even though she was very capable. After several weeks of my daughter leaving practice in tears, we finally had to quit and find another gym. Not something I ever thought we would do. She misses all of her friends so much. But sometimes life lessons like knowing when to walk away are necessary. She still wonders what she did and why the coaches were so mad at her. Very very sad situation. read more

This was probably one of the best life lessons my daughter ever experience. When my daughter said she wanted to do cheer I was not on board. She's the kind of kid that start something but never finishes. She was not very coordinated nor disciplined. Plus I always thought of cheerleaders as mean girls. Intensity require dedication and lots of hard work. I now respect cheer. It's like a pretty Boot Camp for kids. They will whip them into shape. At first she wanted to quit because it was too hard. My daughter had no experience. My daughter ended up becoming one of the top flyers. Coaches did not allow for any excuses. Even if they were sick they had to come in. There was no back talking or attitudes. Kids were completely responsible for themselves and held accountable by their coaches. Their best is what they required. They pushed my daughter to a level she never dreamed. In this whole process my daughters attitude improves so much. She became more respectful in school/home and got better grades. She had less excuses, became more independent and responsible. It was the best invest I have made for my daughter. Intensity teams always won top 3 in competitions. Team got to travel many states winning. When my daughter's team made Summit (US Finals Disneyland) it hit them they were actually #1 or almost #1 compare to other cheer teams. Intensity is top Cheer teams in the Nation! As for the staff: Stephanie the owner, hardly ever smiled and seemed intimidating. But when I reached out to her about concerns she was always kind and work with me. She always was professional. Gina Front desk was my favorite. If she didn't have an answer she get back to me. She always tried so hard to work around my schedule. I felt I was driving her crazy but she never made me feel I was. She just a very nice and professional person. Coach Lindsey is as sweet as she is pretty. She was so patient with my daughter. And help her grow as an athlete and as a person. Intensity is one of the best cheer teams in the nation. My two youngest kids have been at intensity for seven months now. Before that we were with another very popular local tumbling gym that left much to be desired. Since starting here (no waiting list for months on end) my kids have learned so much and my daughter is confident and has fun. She can now do cartwheels just like her friends. The staff is great with the kids. One day my 6 year old was being difficult and refused to go to class- crying. One of the staff that's not even my son's coach came over and got him from me. He sat with him talked to him and did handstands to calm him down. What a way to help a parent and child alike. It's been a wonderful investment here and I am so happy we switched gyms. My kids don't compete they just do it for fun but watching the more advanced is really fun and very impressive. I highly recommend intensity gym if you are unhappy with your gym, are looking to try out a class for your kids or are into cheer. Awesome owners, terrific coaches and the office staff is friendly and patient with all my millions of questions. As a newbie cheer mom, I do have a lot of them. Very small and impressive gym and family oriented. Well organized and the waiting area accommodates waiting and your other kids can eat a snack and do homework at the tables provided. The bathrooms are always dirty but this place is very busy and they do a great job of trying to stay on top of it. Fun events outside of cheer for the kids and families. As our first cheer experience family, it will be hard to leave. We've moved, very far away and we still continue the drive because we love this place so much. I was with this gym/coach for over 7 years never in my dreams I would write something like this. After getting new coaches which bad mouth my daughter multiple times nothing was fixed. Then hiring people that has no coaches experience, teaching classes, and teaching teams with no experience which to me is a big red flag. They treated hard working athletes like crap and letting parents run the gym and telling who will be in what stunt or flying. After having my daughter come out crying after practice asking why is was being pulled from flying when she was better then another. But cause they let friendships run the gym. They bad mouth other gyms and have talked bad around there athletes which then talk about other kids bad mouthing them. I feel if they didn't have all these problems with new staffing this gym would be AMAZING and I still would be a loyal customer and my daughter still would be going to this gym. read more

My four and five year old girls went yesterday to their tiny tots open gym. I'm the mother and dropped them off. I had forgot to tell them my husband was going to be picking them up. It was our first time there and they didn't know my kids or me or my husband. My husband went to pick them up, and the lady was rude when he asked if he needed to sign them out or show Id. She said, "no, you just take them and leave." They need to up their security. 9/10 abductions are from people the kids know. Not that I'm worried about my husband, but they should have asked for ID or something! I wouldn't take my kids there again unless they got a more safer system down. read more

My three daughters are finishing up their 6th year and I can not say enough good things about this gym and coaching staff. I have watched my girls grow in more ways than I can count. As far as athletic achievements go- They've gone from barely knowing how to cartwheel to level 4 and 5 athletes. My girls collectively have 2 Summit titles, 4 NCA titles and numerous other National wins. But aside, and far more important, than the jackets and trophies is the lessons that they have learned and the experiences that our entire family has gained. This gym is their second home and the people in it are our second family. My kids have learned that hard work is worth it! They have learned confidence, perseverance, and how to love and be there for others. My 7 year old daughter and my 6 year old granddaughter likes the gymnastics classes. They are in the beginning stages of gymnastics. In my personal opinion I think 8 in a class is too many for one teacher for beginners. They don't get much personal attention from the teacher but that's to be expected with so many in a class. read more

This is a great gym with great coaches and staff. This will be our 4th year of cheering at Intensity and it is somewhat of a second home.
