Let me start off by saying-- Our daughter has learned and developed more at FIGS in ONE year than 4 years at any other club thanks to Juanchi and Caitlyn! FIGS is NOT about "how many people can I pack into my club and take club fees and move on." They are very family oriented and care about the players. Not only do they take the time to get to know the girls but the parents as well. I love that they actually care about the players improving their volleyball skills and working with the players to meet their goals- not just letting them make the same mistakes over and over. They were loud, disruptive, and bothering World Market shoppers and employees inside a business that was not theirs. I also overheard them loudly announcing that they planned to continue soliciting customers inside Ross and other nearby stores. When I brought this up to the LA Fitness manager, I was told, "They are doing their job." No, sir. Promoting memberships near your own gym is doing their job. Entering unrelated businesses and pestering people who are simply trying to shop is inappropriate and unprofessional. I don't know what incentive employees receive for each membership signup, but this aggressive solicitation was ridiculous. If LA Fitness wants new members, it should attract them through good facilities and customer service--not by sending loud salespeople into neighboring businesses to chase down shoppers.

This place is like the gym Average Joe's in the movie Dodge Ball (except not the good guys, just…read morethe average part). They have some great instructors, but unfortunately the members create an atmosphere of insecurity and fear. If you show up with any experience, confidence, or heaven forbid are good looking, in shape, and not religious, then you will be hated like you're a Globo Gym member. Not only will they hate you, they will begin to spread lies and rumors about you and give you dirty glances. We witnessed them allow a member to continuously cause trouble, disobey the rules of the mat, and disrespect other members of the gym and the instructors and manager never did anything until after 9 months of not paying his dues they finally kicked him out. This guy was over 6' tall, 270 pounds, tattoos on his face... he was intimidating. He was also a very poor sport, no sportsmanship and no regard for etiquette. He threw tantrums when he didn't get submissions in jiu jitsu, he was always challenging the upper ranked belts to prove himself, he tried to start physical altercations with professional fighters at fight night, he tried to start fights with my husband threatening him through text, and they even allowed this member's young son to accost little girls in jiu jitsu, making creepy comments to them, and bullying other members of all ages, much like his father. There is a heavy Christian influence pervading the place, which seems to encourage the negative behavior. They forgive the bully over and over which punishes the victims. That member was just one example of the culture at large. Be aware of the groups of women who are there every day who act like they own the place and bully around doing what they want without consequences, acting like their membership doesn't cost the same as yours. If you want to go back to high school but pay for it, then this is your spot.

I made some friends in ZUMBA class too just from seeing each other every time we are in class together... It's usually not BUSY at all in the mornings around 8am-11am... The experience was not ideal for a kid who truly wants to learn the basics of basketball. The teams practice outside when it's getting dark. Your supposed to practice in the environment your going to play in (indoors) from our personal experience the Coach lacked the ability to coach. No correction on form, skill, performance during the one day practice then it's expected for the team to know what to do on the court. Our specific Coach, coached multiple teams and got plays mixed up, calls mixed up etc. it was a mess. The Starters team play the Genesis teams which are the travel league, played with each other more often and are experienced (makes absolutely no sense)only makes sense if your trying to kill the "beginners" confidence or if your aiming for them to hate the sport before they can learn to love it. Save your money look for a better Program for sure. I am a editing my review to a higher rating due to the fact that Rudy was responsive to this review and respectful.
