Then I got the bill. Almost $1200. $250/hour for labor! I was shocked. Their technicians are "highly trained" they told me. Guess they went to law school because they charge like lawyers! Then the repair failed shortly after. I requested a warranty repair. The guy came out and did the repair. In order to test it, he had to turn the pool on. It was winter and it had not been turned on in a while and so took time to build up suction. I assured the tech it would eventually run. He insisted that I must have a problem with the O ring. I replace it myself and knew it was ok, but he insisted. So I relented and let him change it, assuming it was no big deal. No mention of charging me. Then I got another bill for that for almost $200. To replace an O ring. I complained and they graciously took $80 off of the bill. wow. If a small family owned business is as rapacious as the big guys, why should I bother supporting them? I was happy to discover that salesman Steve there in Gilroy is incredibly knowledgable, helpful and low pressure (I for one cannot tolerate that sort of stress) and there was a wideselection of hot tub models. We discussed our needs with him and after some comparison shopping finally decided upon on a Caldera Seychelles (really glad we didn't impulsively go with Costco for this decision!!!) Steve was even able to recommend an electrician who often hooks up this brand and has an ongoing relationship with HTW. My wife had some real concerns about access to our yard but they were dispelled once we did a facetime video call down our pathway and clarified the dimensions needed. When it came time for delivery it was fascinating how professional and careful the crew was, like a brutish ballet! Now basking in the glorious 102-degree temperature of our tub, as our tensions melt away we now think that this might have been one of the better decisions of our life!

I had a hard time reaching out for a quote as they are the only doughboy dealer for my area and have some sort of a monopoly which is really bad for doughboy pools business. Dan came out to my house and provided a quote. He was courteous and patiently answered my questions.When I finally received a quote on the pool package and wanted to add more items, customize the package etc I could not get hold of the owner. I wanted to move forward with a 14-15k contract for purchase and installation but could not move forward. After leaving some voicemails and some calls, I simply gave up contacting and purchased the package from another provider at a cheaper price who threw in a lot of things, luckily for me. I still wanted to give business to them for installation but unfortunately they only install what they sell. They dont install doughboy pools if you buy online from other distributors at a cheaper price. It did not work for me unfortunately due to pricing and availability. But I wish them best of luck, and also to their customers who might reach out.

He answered all of our questions (and we had a lot, lol) and from start to finish we're done in roughly 1.5- 2 weeks and we were swimming! I soon learned from Jon and decided to take over the maintenance part. Now I am in my mid-70's and can't do the work. I called Jon Roddick at Appi who brought in his employee expert Alex Fletes who has been caring for my pool for two months. Folks, I am on well water and my pool has never looked better. Crystal clear all the time with weekly service. I heartily recommend Appi. Jon, Alex, and Appi, thank you for your skills and a heart for service to me.

They sent a guy out, then mailed me a "service call" invoice for $178.20. After I sent them a letter concerning this issue, they stubbornly insist I owe them the billed amount. Be sure to double-check their math on any estimate from them. Discovered several "errors". One guess in who's favor... No resolution after 2 months, and still receiving billing invoices. Unfortunately, they are currently "the only game in town", and take advantage of that. Given a choice, I would NEVER call them again. Don't make the same mistake I did. Negative 10 stars if possible...

In this case, we moved into a 1999 house that had no above-ground water tank or booster pumps. I needed all that installed, plus a separate electrical panel for the boosters and also, a manual transfer switch in case of a blackout. Randy was my rep this time and handled it very well. I have never done a project this big with Chappell. I had given another local well-down pump and well company a shot at this job as well, but the rep seemed disinterested, for the first scheduled visit he simply was a no-show to work that week and work had no idea where he was. Since no one was calling me to reschedule, I did follow up and got that rep out, but he seemed disinterested and--after giving me an on-the-spot guesstimate of the job... yes, you guessed it, never followed up with a real quote. Considering that behavior, I put my confidence in Randy from Chappell. The follow up was great, considering it was before, during and after the Xmas holiday, and now we have exactly what we need. For Chappell's work: the pictures show the blue pumps, the nice shiny new piping, the green electrical panel and the tank, and some bonuses Randy suggested that I did not even ask for: the cool sight-level disk one can see from quite a ways a way, and a third feed valve on the main piping, in case I need to add something in the future. Keith was always personable easy to talk to and it is sad that he is not there. So now when I want to get my well shocked, because my husband who passed away used to take care of it, I need help . I did not remember the exact depth of my well, but I said when asked that I thought it was around 140 ft. I was encouraged to find out for sure so I did. In the meantime, they had come up with a bid quoting the deepest possible and the highest price.. My husband who passed away, knew the depth and so I had to do my research and it was confirmed that the well is around 140 feet deep. I immediately called Capitola Pump and confirmed that I was right it was around 140 feet but they had already come up with a very expensive $4000 price to shock treat my well. I asked if they would please change that now that I knew the depth. A month and a half went by I never heard from them so I called and Was told they'd get back to me, but they didn't. I called back once and was told that the person was out on lunch break . I said please have them call me back and No one did. Two days later. I called a second time and then I was told that because they didn't have any record of me, because Keith didn't keep good records, who is no longer with Capitola Pump they couldn't lower the price. I have been from the very start disappointed with the service over the phone. It felt like going to a store and working with someone that never said hello or even looked at your face and the monotone voice was it put off from the start, but I tried to be kind and respectful . I won't mention her name, but she clearly conveys through her tone hate for her job. There was another young woman that answered the phone whose name I did not get and she was very sweet and conveyed a a very kind attitude. So because they don't have records and I know and knew the depth of my well was as exactly as I thought and conveyed on my first phone call. They don't feel comfortable lowering the price to a reasonable rate for a well that is only 140 ft. Because their policy was to create a bid for the deepest scenario of $4000 for a 600 foot deep well to a reasonable rate for 140 foot well. I would highly recommend finding somewhere else to go and not support supporting this business.

We bought our house with a working well and not knowing anything about wells I kept trying armature repairs. Finally I had a water cut out issue, Capitola Pump came out and within minutes knew exactly what the problem was and fixed! I now have perfectly running water and at much higher pressure. I can't believe I put up with low pressure showers! I couldn't be at the house during the repair, so they explained everything to my wife who works from home. She was very well informed. Very professional and excellent pricing. It was literally a perfect experience! 5 stars!! Take it from me, another service professional (computer repair), these guys provided a 100% perfect experience from start to finish!
