This company is the best from top to bottom. I was looking into building a shed for years. I looked into other companies before finding CA custom sheds, but they all fell short for one reason or another. When I made the phone call to CA custom sheds I knew I found the right company. Ally made the initial call and setup so comfortable and easy, and their communication every step of the way was top notch. The day of install was a breeze. Jose and his crew were right on time and a pleasure to watch. They were fast, clean, and respectful of my property. If you're looking for a shed, you can't beat CA custom sheds. read more

We purchased a 15X8 custom shed for an art studio with windows on all 4 sides and doors on two sides. The team was on time, did an excellent job installing the shed and were enthusiastic. It was clear to us that this team had many years experience and valued the quality of their work. The shed itself is great looking, is an excellent structure that will surely deliver many, many years of enjoyment for our artist in residence. Thank you to California Custom Sheds!! read more

My wife had ordered a shed from California Custom Sheds and she recommended I buy a shed from them. I'm really glad I did. The shed design tool was super easy to use. After I submitted the design the communication about design and feature tradeoffs was great. I made some modifications and then got on the schedule. A team of two came with one flatbed truck and built the entire 8x10 shed in one day. It was amazing how fast and hard they worked. The shed turned out perfect and it will be of great use in our yard for gardening and projects. They also built a custom size shed door that works great with our location. They even painted it. I highly recommend California Custom Sheds. I am planning planning my next shed with them already. Great job, thank you!! read more

From my initial visit to the Californi Custom Sheds business location through to the completion of the shed, everything went very well. Luis was super helpful to me, answering questions on site while we were looking at the models on display. He also directed me to thier website which has a 3D modeling app where I was able to model lots of options and get an idea on pricing as well. When I booked the installation, the lead time was about 4 or 5 weeks out as this is a busy time. I said if anything opens up sooner, let me know. They did, and there was an opening within the week of my ordering the shed! Lucky me! Jose, Ricardo, and Ramon showed up at my house right on time and got to work. It was amazing how this team performed. Quick, but with careful attention to detail. I found out later that this team has been with the company for over two decades! It showed in the workmanship. Very professional, and they cleaned up after themselves leaving a spotless job site. I am SO glad I went with California Custom Sheds rather than the big box hardware store offering (with who knows who might be doing the work). These guys are pros, the material is solid, and they know how to assemble these sheds like they know the back of their hands. I was very impressed and Highly recommend California Custom Sheds. There is a reason these are all these 5 star ratings here. Not so with the competition. read more

We have been in the market for an outdoor shed to make in to a home office. We found California Cusom Sheds here in Salinas who was amazing to work with. We visited their show lot and made the decision based on being able to tangibly interact with the buildings. After working with Patti and Tom we created the design, agreed upon an installation date and viola! Jose and Ricardo showd up with EVERYTHING on their truck and got to work. Their experience, professionalism and quality shows in the final product. Within 8 or so hours they knocked it out and left us with a beautiful shed. Coat of paint and we're good to go. Nothing but "I love it" and "really sturdy construction" comments. We HIGHLY recommend the team at California Custom Sheds for your next project. read more

We recently had a shed built on our property by California Custom Sheds. From our visit to their site in Salinas to the completion of the shed, our experience was extremely positive. Tom showed us various shed styles and sizes and thoughtfully answered our many questions. When we called the office for further details, Tom and Patti patiently provided the specifics we needed. The 3D Designer on their web site allows for customizing and pricing, with choices of door, windows, shingle color, shelving, and step or ramp. The three-person crew worked hard all day and completed the shed to our satisfaction. The foreman, José, answered our questions and explained several construction details. When they left, the site was even tidier than when they started. We have no hesitation in recommending California Custom Sheds and have already referred them to a neighbor who wants a shed on his property. read more

We have had three sheds built by CA Custom Shed. Nothing but praise for all of it --- from ordering to fully built. The quality of the sheds is obviously high, and the business exceptionally well-run or we wouldn't be return customers (3x!). So many detailed things that make not just the product 5 stars, but the people as well. The office staff operates like a "hive mind", smoothly communicating among themselves to ensure the design, planning and invoicing is easy and error free. The build crew works like a well-oiled machine, working independently or helping one another as needed, moving fast and efficiently to get the high quality build done and the site spotless before leaving. The crew was relaxed, friendly and ensured that where our input was needed they gave us a chance to offer it. They also offered their own opinions when asked, and gave great advice for small design tweaks that led to a shed better than it would have been had we gone with our first idea. Pricing for these sheds is better than that for Tuff Sheds or similar that you see at the Home Depot parking lot and they are MUCH better made --- look at stud spacing, look at materials, look at roofing/flooring, look at ground contact materials. When I priced out a similar shed to the one I built in 2019, CA Custom was cheaper and better. Superb local business, delighted they are right here in my neighborhood! read more

Need a 10 Star Choice! Luis came to do a small job for us and single handedly did the job. Get up early! They said Luis would be here between 7:30 and 9:30. He arrived at 7:35 ready to go! Did the job and cleaned up every speck. He was pleasant, helpful, totally competent, and didn't mess around, he was focused. We have purchased two California Custom Sheds, each for different uses: garden tools and an art studio. They are well made, sturdy and attractive. I can't say enough about this company. This is how a company should be run: responsive, willing to alter a design and fast! Don't even think of using anyone else. These are the ones! read more

I was looking for custom sheds desperately for my backyard in Sunnyvale. The one at the big box retailers looked fancy but I knew they'd not hold up over the years due to the weather. Plastic, vinyl etc. just wouldn't cut it. Then I was driving to so-cal on 101 and saw California Custom Sheds. I looked up their site, tried the 3d design tool and also all of the custom shed pictures. I picked the one I liked, called their office and placed the order for 2 sheds. All folks at CCS deserve 10 stars from their office staff to installers. They built the shed on my property in a day. I couldn't be more happy with the quality of the shed. Simply marvelous If anyone is looking for a custom shed anywhere in the bay area, look no further. You MUST give these guys a call. I don't leave reviews but this was beyond expectations. Incredible service and installation. Like many other customers, checked out big box stores to compare prices and California Custom Sheds is not only a better deal but will provide way better customer service including installation in one day. This business offers a range of sheds in different sizes, and they are very sturdy as well as attractive, made of wood and finished with a shingled roof, air vents, and sturdy door latches that lock. You can order shelves of whatever size and spacing you need to go inside, along with a wooden bar where you can hang hooks for large tools. We ordered a shed that fit the narrow space we had available, and it offers lots of storage room. The crew of Jose and Ricardo who did the installation were skilled and very helpful, fitting the shelves just as we needed them. I highly recommend this business. read more

This is a review a few months after having two sheds built by California Custom Sheds. Don't expect me to come up with negative info as I find this company and their employees on the exceptional side. I am extremely pleased with the results of the two I had built. I will not cover the prep work which I had done separately as I could write many words about that too. I am using my sheds in place of a garage to store tools and materials of all sorts, much of which are divided between Sterilite totes loaded onto shelving up to six levels high. The style of roof that I chose, the shed roof is angled with an Interior Height of 9' 3", making plenty of stacking room. The shorter side is 7' 3" feet allowing stacking up to five shelf levels. But don't worry I did fasten the shelves to the wall. FYI, Home Depot carries both the large totes and the HDX shelving, 24" deep. Two 64 quart Sterilite totes fit easily on each shelf with good clearance. That is a lot of storage space that is protected from dust over the years and each tote has near transparent sides that you can see through so you do not need to depend on labels. For me it is easier to remember where I put things by visually looking instead of relying on labels on the outside of boxes. The sheds were built with the Heavy Duty construction option for the flooring and walls. When I step into either one of the sheds it feels super sturdy. It also feels roomy since I can easily walk to the other end through a 40 inch wide isle. I have windows on both ends, the door has windows too for additional light during the day. There are two Wind Turbines near the high point of each roof with three vents on the opposing wall. The doors are real house doors with pre-drilled holes so I could add the same type of door knobs and dead bolts that I have on my house. The windows face north and south. The tallest wall faces due west so the afternoon sun hits it with heat most every day during the summer. That wall does not have any windows so all the storage material in each tote works as an insulator and forces much of the radiant heat generated from the sun to travel straight up and out the Turbines. I know this because I had the first shed built and put in all the shelves and noticed how much warmer the second shed was before putting in the shelving. At least an eight-degree difference. After the second shed was filled with its own shelving system it too was much cooler inside. Wow how nice. I did paint the sheds an off white to help reflect heat and I choose the lightest roof color. If the temperature outside goes high then so the interior of the shed. I live in a relatively cool area so my attempt to keep temps down is working well. About the employees. This project did not happen in a short time but over many months of thinking and deciding what to do for prep. The staff at Calif Custom Sheds were always kind and never complained for the many changes that I made. They never tried to up sale me by asking if I might want something that I did not initiate. After I mentioned this detail to one of the employees he said "Yes the sheds sell themselves," I thought that was a nice motto. The way the employees treated me was most appreciated and also their advice was quite helpful. Now that all is completed, I can say I got real value with the quality of materials and a very good construction process. They work very fast and it was exciting. You probably can't beat the level of quality construction they provide included with the price of the sheds. The building crew was also excellent. No playing around, all business. Every time I approached the lead to ask a question, he finished the task he was doing and then listened to what I might ask. He always found a way to accommodate my request. My sheds are both 15 by 8 feet. The high side of the shed roof gives me added privacy from a neighboring two story house. I also enjoy the ramps that they built for me for each shed. read more

Jose and Ricardo showed up right on time in the morning with everything and they were done by the afternoon. I was impressed by their efficiency, professionalism and quality of their work. I did a lot of research before I finally purchased this shed. This was hands down the most well built shed you can get. The sheds at other shed companies and the big box stores will not last. This company was wonderful, from start to finish! Patti, one of the owners, helped me design the shed (we call it a studio) all the way through, and made excellent suggestions for window placements & sizes, and the door. They were patient when I had to change build dates on them several times, and showed up right on schedule on the build date. They also gave me detailed plans for the crushed gravel foundation, and talked with my construction company about the details. (Le Blanc Construction did a great job on the foundation! Their # is 831-251-5273) The foreman of the crew, Jose, then also helped me with several last minute changes, including how exactly to deal with the height issue, so that we didn't lose our tiny ocean view. I just had my second California Custom Shed built - and I'm just as happy as I was with the first one (built appx 8 yrs ago). They built to my exact specifications and even handled most of the order-process via email and snail mail. Price-wise, I think they are slightly more competitive than Tuff-Sheds. They definitely are higher than the "totally pre-fabbed" jobs you can pick-up at the Big Box hardware stores. But I wanted "custom" (it will be my Art Studio). I really like the look of the shed - painted to match our house - and I loved that the whole thing was built on-site in one day. Crew was quick and professional. The original "build" date got rained out, but they were great about communicating with me and re-scheduling at the first opportunity. Thumb's-Up to California Custom Sheds! read more
