The woman I spoke with was extremely patient and thorough in answering all my questions. Fast forward two days. While my sister and my dad's companion were unable to make decisions on the needs of my father and his quick decline, the urgency in my sister's voice forced the decisions on what would be the best for him. Hospice was contacted and they had an in-take nurse out within 2 hours on a Thursday, about 7 pm. A plan was created for my dad and he was made comfortable. The following morning, day two, his case RN came to his home and a more detailed plan was formed. The needed meds were at my dad's house within several hours. I arrived on the third day of my dad being in hospice. While he seems somewhat better this day, we are noticing a downward trend in multiple areas. A hospice nurse stopped by as my dad caused a skin tear on his leg while we were transferring him from the toilet to the walker seat and we had trouble getting the bleeding to stop. On the fourth day in hospice, Dad had a very difficult night and the decision was made that we needed a hospital bed in hopes that we could make him more comfortable by elevating his head and knees. Hospice was contacted and we had a hospital bed within 3 hours. On the morning of the fifth day, it became quite evident that my dad's passing was imminent but we needed better pain management. Janelle, his hospice nurse, came out and spent about 2 hours with us. She walked us through the process of dying and how to ensure that our dad wouldn't be in pain. She shared with me how to take the meds, crushing them up and adding water so I could administer these drugs with a syringe into his mouth until the liquid meds got to us. No, hospice can't take away our sorrow, but they did make sure that my dad was not in pain from cancer that had metastasized into his bones, spine, and brain. Within several hours of passing, hospice had my dad's body removed from his home to the funeral home that was prearranged. The following day, the hospital bed and other equipment had been picked up. The only issue we had was not so much with hospice but the third-party company they contract with to get the meds out to the patient's homes. That company sent two of one prescription instead of an extended-release painkiller. This was rectified the following day.

The very first visit from Hospice was very depressing. Kimberly a nurse and a spokesperson for Hospice was very negative about my fiancé's prognosis. She was talking about taking her off her medications because she would not be around long. I realize that Hospice is for a persons end of life but still you don't treat people that way. As a family we were hoping for her to get better. There were some good nurses and CNA's that gave my fiancé quality care. On the last weekend of my fiancés life Kimberly and my fiancés regular nurse came on Friday to treat the leg wound she had. Well she was in a great deal of pain so Kimberly and the nurse after consulting the doctor decided to give my fiancé three full syringes of morphine in a 90 minute time frame. That is way too much morphine at one time. The result from this was that she was still in a lot of pain. Afterwards she was in a deep sleep for the next five days until her death. Needless to say she did not eat or drink. She had been on strong doses of morphine before as well. After reading this you be the judge of what happened. If I ever get in a state of when I need care I NEVER want Hospice for care!

I would recommend it if you or your loved one's needs are fairly simple. However, the staff does not stay awake at night, and some get angry if they are awakened. They have a literal "bell" system to call for help that they conveniently don't hear most of the time. The only real activities they offer are watching TV. I ended up moving my mom out after only 3 months because they only have one bathroom that is shared by 5 residents and staff. A second bathroom is in the master suite where a couple of residents live and is for their sole use. They do have commodes available also.

I have arrived to my senior year of an age of 77 and I wanted to be sure I could find a Neurologist very soon that would be able to determine if I was moving into the Alzheimer's disease, which is the most common cause of dementia. I did not want to delay in obtaining the knowledge of what I needed to do, for it seemed I had begun with memory loss and cognitive impairment, and I began to be frightened. I realize that earlier diagnosis and intervention methods are improving dramatically and treatment options and sources of support can improve quality of life. I went to my appointment, and I met Dr. Seif Eddeine. I found him to be a physician who provided the professional care one would require; he is very qualified with experience in evaluating memory problems. He truly listened to me as to what I felt was going on with my thoughts. He not only listened to what I had to say and made notes as I talked, he made me feel he cared. After our discussion he immediately created a thorough treatment plan, and he felt I needed to begin as soon as possible. He suggested a Blood test; Brain check; EEG; Sleep Therapy and Speech Therapy Evaluation, due to my short-term memory. He referred me to the providers he wanted me to visit for my treatment plan. It was left in my hands to visit the providers he recommended. I did not want to disregard the professional medical advice or delay in seeking it. My return for follow up of my test results were given to me before I departed. I recommend Dr. Self Eddeine to anyone looking for a Neurologist who is through.

After couple visits, I was referred to his PA Dr Moon. During one visit Dr Moon noticed I had signs of Parkinson, and sent me back to the MD. I was getting worst and did not want to wait 2 additional months, but front desk staff refused to change the date and seemingly did not inform the doctor; I felt front staff was taking decisions on their own. I have other problems that handicap me, and staff will not mail me copy of report insisting I pick up although I am unable to drive there and my email is not working. The office seems to not know about handicap laws. Not a major complaint but to advice on office staff. Doctors are only as good as reflected by staff.

I was her care taker and had to have surgery on my foot that left me non weight bearing for 6 weeks. When my mother took a turn for the worse as a family we made arrangements for my sisters to come down and take over her care. We were told by an English solcial worker we could not have respite for the 2 days until my sisters got here. You read that correctly TWO DAYS THEY WOULD NOT HELP OUT! I had to roll water into her with crutches. They refused care even though they were getting paid by Medicare, hello fraud? We had to pay $400 for medical transport her down to my daughters house in Tucson. Please save yourself frustration and heartaChe and don't use them!
