Took good care of her really were sincerely interested in her well-being. About a year and a half later she had a terrible stroke and went to the hospital. Parkland said let's bring her home because you have eight brothers and sisters and we'll have a hospital bed and a 24 hour nurse so you guys can visit with your mother. She passed a week later, and everyone in the family got to see her, or get a telephone conference, to say they loved her. We highly recommend Parkland memory care for your consideration.

Through experience I have come to believe that staff turnover is highly correlated to quality and consistency of care. As I searched I was looking for an intimate and clean setting with low staff turnover as an indicator that the staff were happy in their job and therefore capable of providing consistent high quality care. Many, if not most at Parkland have been there 5-6 years. It was no contest. Parkland is a great facility, built specifically for memory care patients. What truly impresses, though, is the caring, attentive nature of the staff...and I mean everyone from the executive director to the caregivers!! They actively engage the residents and are kind, attentive and respectful. I am so happy I made the choice to take her to Parkland. She recently passed but loved her time there, especially loved the staff and the residents. If you have choice, you need to look at Parkland first. Incredible!

The physical space is very, very nice , the staff is friendly and supportive and come quickly when you use your emergency button. I had some experience with summoning emergency services. It was all very fast and efficient. The fire station is literally next door. The dining room is well run, the food is usually good. I have gained several pounds in the months that we have lived here. There are lots of activities and nice spaces to meet in. The 'back office' seems well run, billing is clear and timely. They offer support for insurance if you have it.

She took a video of the apartment for me so I could show my mom before she moved. Kim at the front desk was so helpful with everything I needed and the Director of Assisted Living, Keri Giles was always available to address anything I had concerns over with my mom. Everything changed in November of 2025 when the new Director, Alexondra came on board. I decided to relocate my mom after the holidays and gave the 30 day required notice December 31 to be moved out by January 31. I receive a call from the Director on January 5 that I need to move my mom into their memory care immediately. WHAT? I inform her my mom is moving out January 21 literally in 2 weeks. She told me it didn't matter I must move her into memory care or get 24-7 care for her. She's in assisted living! Needless to say I was able to move her to another assisted living facility where she is receiving true assisted living. Be very careful if you choose this facility. After moving out I personally cleaned the apartment and it was filthy even though housekeeping cleaned once a week. I then received a bill for carpet replacement. I was speechless. I've included some pictures of how filthy it was.

My criteria for…read morechoosing Solterra included mingling of Independent and Assisted residents, a dining room open all day, and a homey feel. I was disappointed when the director was let go about a year ago, but the facility remains well run and the staff is attentive. A major remodel is under way, and I appreciate the investment. Rooms are very generous--and I saw *many* places just as expensive with teeny rooms. Recently my grown children moved their dad into the memory care unit, and they are extremely happy with the care and attentiveness he receives. Another very picky friend of mine has her mother-in-law in the memory care unit also. Since it's hard to see a family member become elderly and frail, this is such an important decision. I do recommend Solterra.

I didn't even get into the building before I was threatened of trespassing, literally from the parking lot to the front door I couldn't get a single word out before I was swiftly asked to leave. Zero chance I would allow my family to even consider living in a place like this. Not to mention the landscape is extremely unkept and neglected, among other things that are neglected as well.

I seen elderly man fall and caregivers. Laugh without assessing him when they do finally assess him. They just brush it off like nothing they're on their phone most of the time. There's easy exit doors that memory care clients can go to an open. Take them about at least 10 to 15 minutes to run to the door and redirect. They allow residence who have aggression going to other rooms and abuse other clients all they do is redirect them know about it or letting other family know what's going on with their loved one sad part is that if you are looking for a great facility and you're looking into this one, your families gonna be paying more because they accept the money from clients who already paying having them donate more money for a Christmas fun for the employees which is crazy because this company makes a lot of money. This ain't great place to work and if your planing having family leave here , beware of what going on and ask your family members questions

They gave us keys to a unit, then claimed they were unaware of his health conditions, including bipolar, saying they were not equipped to care for him. They almost rendered him homeless. His doctors recommend assisted living and socialization will help his health improve and AZ officials affirmed this facility is able to accept residents with his conditions. Be aware Brookdale Chandler discriminates against certain patients and attempts to overcharge wherever they can. Our family member has only technically been a resident for a couple months (many of which he has been away or in the hospital for) and the executive director, Cathy Leonard, continues to claim they're unable to let him reside there due to his conditions, and she attempts to charge more for his "increased care needs" which are not valid - his doctors do not agree with Brookdale's evaluations of his care needs. These are trumped-up attempts to continue denying him residency and causing undue stress to our family. They should be ashamed.

The staff also left at anytime 7-11 syringes of Morphine by my Mom for her to have been she thinks she needed it! They tried to deny their staff was Negligent even though they took all of the syringe is immediately and they also try to blame my family for bringing in the morphine which everybody knows is extraordinarily impossible. I can't even explain how dangerous that was for my mother for somebody who would've done anything to take away her air hunger and pain she should've never been given the syringe is or had extra sitting by her just for her to take what she wanted it to. I understand why people die off in assisted living or nursing home. My father did not need assisted-living it was only helpful and useful since my mom needed it so badly but his care was not much better and when my family and I decided to remove him from that facility he blossomed as his family was taking care of him and not letting him rot in a facility that doesn't show very much response. I do believe these facilities serve a purpose but family has to be involved and family has to ask questions and family has to be observant otherwise your loved one will have no shot at it longevity in their elder years.
