The existing AV system was overly complex, had outdated gear, hard to operate, and lost access to streaming services (Netflix). Jim took quite a bit of time diagnosing over the phone and carefully assigned homeowner duties so as not to blow out the budget. Michael came out and made substantial improvements based on our preferences, including: o Installed new Spectrum boxes o Delivered and installed Roku 4K devices for Netflix access. Also, set up logins and account access o Replaced old outdate router w/ new mesh router o Cleaned up cables/wiring, which were a complete mess o Replaced a fixed TV wall mount, with one that was adjustable, greatly improving the view-ability within the room o Reduced reliance on Universal Remote, making things much simpler o Ensured other devices (iPad, notebook, Echo) integrated and worked properly Michael was thorough, knowledgable, and asked all the right questions before making changes. Jim even came out on the first day to bring by a part. The pricing was very reasonable, especially given the level of improvement. Highly recommended.

I just called him for a party i had at Christmas out of the blue asking him a lame question (I'm not that good at technology) after not speaking to him for quite a while and he walked me right through the problem just in time for my party! That is what I call service. The guys who work there are friendly, efficient and always get the job done. I called Jillian to schedule an appointment for some minor work on my remote but I was really thinking of replacing my music system and I was planning on just talking to them about it. But to my surprise, Eddie, the service guy came prepared and was able to install it that day. I really cannot recommend them more highly.

Try as I might, I have not been able to get a quote on the camera system we are wired for nor can we get anyone to come out and transfer the previous owners information to ours. AVIR has obviously made the lion share of their money on the previous owner and I guess they have $$ based priorities beyond that. We are now forced to replace the Savant system with a more mainstream product. I will update this review as we move along.

I needed someone to go out to a rental property to change a system battery. We no longer live in the desert and our tenant does not have a contract with any company for monitoring. I contacted Comtron to get a quote. I clearly explained the situation to the girl who answered the phone. She asked for the property address to look it up in their system. I told her we do not have service with them. She gave me the quote of $55 for the service call and $50 for the battery. I told her I would call her back after I spoke with my husband. I called back less than an hour later. The girl I spoke to (not the same as the first call) said she would set up a walk through to get a quote. Huh? I explained that I already got a quote and was just calling back to schedule the service. She said I was misquoted and they do not do service calls for non customers. I asked to speak with the manager....Jenny got on the phone, I explained the problem to her. She agreed that I was misquoted. She also stated she has a "couple of new girls in the office". She apologised for the mix up. When I told her I was going to give them a poor review she asked me not to and if I could get her the name of the system she would see what she could do. I phoned her back about 30 minutes later (just about 5:00pm). The girl who answered the phone just answered by saying "hello"...I asked if this was Comtron and she said it was. (odd!) When I asked for Jenny she said she had already left for the day. No problem. I left my contact information and explained that Jenny was expecting my call and ask that she call me when she got in the following day. That was two days ago. I just now received a call for Jenny. She didn't quite remember me and asked when I wanted them to come out to set up service. Nope. I reminded her of who I was and why I had called and left my information. Her response: "oh! you're THAT Lisa, I don't know why they put you on my calendar to call you". Really? I told her I had called her back just like she asked me to. I explained that when I hadn't heard back from her yesterday I just contacted a different company. She seemed very confused. My impression is they totally lack any sort of customer service and are completely disorganized. Good luck if you choose Comtron.
