I've been coming to Instyle Barbershop for at least the last 7 years. Everyone in this shop does a fantastic job, which I love because I never have to wait for a favorite barber. It's worth mentioning that I do have favorites, but it's great knowing I can go to first available when I'm in a hurry. Before Covid19, this shop was ALWAYS busy. Literally lines out the door even on weekdays in the middle of the work day. That's a huge testimony to their quality of service and friendliness. With the pandemic, they can only have 3 barbers working at one time due to distancing, but they also offer online reservations now. GO TO THIS SHOP! They always wave out the window to customers that are just walking by, and you can tell they value genuine connections with their client base. It's not unusual to be in the chair for a cut and have several people stop by just to say hello. These guys are truIy part of the community. I moved from Arlington to DC in Jan 2019 and started paying $50+ for a mediocre cut at my new neighborhood barber. After a few months of that, I realized it's worth the trip to Arlington. $24 before tip, the warmest greeting from the men and women inside, and a great haircut! With so many of us out of work or working from home, it's easy to let the hair go "just one more week." I've been in a cap since March, so I get it. Just remember that there are really spectacular shops like this that offer a sense of community and well-being. They've taken incredible steps for safety and cleanliness. I've never gotten a bad haircut here, so there's that. However, not once have they actually done what I wanted. For small things like my sideburns, it was annoying but not annoying enough to beat the convenience of this place. Last time though, after asking them only to trim my hair, they ended up taking a half inch off. I won't be going back here again. I'm a big fan of this place of men's haircuts. The haircuts run $20, but they really put care into their work and they know what they are doing. I recommend Hasan, but I have had great experiences with all of the barbers who have cut my hair there. There is limited seating, and they typically only take walk-ins. This means you won't have to wait long for a hair cut, as long as there is space to sit. read more

I'm a female that recently had my long hair cut into a faux-hawk type style and needed a trim. I was in a time crunch and needed to get a cut that morning so I posted on Facebook to see where my friends recommended I go, considering I had no time to make an appointment at a female-friendly salon, based on my style a handful of my guy friends said to go to InStyle Barber in Courthouse. I waited outside about 20 minutes, they were busy but it was a Saturday morning so I wasn't surprised - in fact, I was glad because it showed they obviously do a good job! When it was finally my turn, Hassan ended up cutting my hair (which luckily for me was the man all my friends had recommend I see). He did a fantastic job! I was told they do not cut womens hair there for a few reasons, but Hassan made an exception and did a fantastic job; better than the original cut that cost me almost 5x as much! I'll definitely be back & can't thank him enough for still taking me in regardless of their male-only policy. read more

In Style Barbers is in the Courthouse Plaza in Arlington. Sort of across the plaza from the AMC Theater. There are usually 2 men and 1 woman cutting hair. The guys are both Turks and are very good at what they do. The woman turns out good cuts as well. I've had cuts from all 3 and my preference is Hasan, all the way to the left, or his brother (sorry, can't recall his name) all the way to the right. Cuts are $14 (can't beat that). Clients are mostly young preppy business types, that you'd likely see out at the Orange line watering holes, or working on the Hill for some Congress-person. Saturday mornings are a jammed, so better to go some other time. I have doubts whether I should actually post this, because it'll be harder to get in. I'm not sure if they take appointments (I've not seen any mention of that or noticed anyone coming in with one) just seems to be walk-ins. Good cuts. No awkward 'massages.' Reasonable prices. Convenient, Courthouse Metro drops you right in front of the door. Can't ask for much more. I didn't give a 5th star because they don't do hot lather shaving around the edges, which I love, but otherwise a solid hit. read more

3 different stylists have cut my hair here and each did a great job. Asked for a beard trim and they did without any additional cost. Long lines but worth the wait as the quality is pretty good - definitely better than a place like Great Clips. read more

I've been a customer here for 8-10 years, so it's probably time I write a review. Daysi and Hasan are both great barbers and always give quality haircuts. You can't make an appointment here-- walk-ins only-- so when things are busy you may have to wait a bit for your favorite barber. Or if you don't care who you see, you can usually get seen much faster. But there's a reason lines exist at this place-- they consistently give good haircuts for a good price. I have curly and waivy hair. Very few barbers in my life have ever been able to give me a good haircut. When the previous barber I had used moved to Florida, it took over a year to find another that made my hair look good. It was one of the barbers at Instyle. Not only did that barber give a good haircut, but so have other barbers there. I have settled on Aziz and Morat, as they both do excellent jobs and are friendly, professional barbers. It has now been at least five years that I have been going there and I will continue to go because it is easy to find a barber shop but tough to find a good one. read more

Excellent haircuts at very good prices... only about $20. I tried a number of barbers in the DC and Arlington areas and Instyle is hands down the best I've had. The only downside is that they don't take appointments, so if you want to come at any convenient time (weekends, after work, during you lunch break), then expect to wait for at least 30 minutes. read more

Dirty place where barbers treat you like second-class citizens. Came here because I read a couple of good reviews. When you walk in, no one even acknowledges you. When it was my turn, the barber told me to sit down and then left for a ten minute smoke break, leaving me just sitting in the chair. Of course afterwards his hands smelt like s***. Like come on dude you're touching people's heads! Then also before starting, he and a female barber used blow dryers to move around some of the crazy amounts of hair they had on the floor (maybe invest in a broom??). It was literally at least like three to five pounds of human hair. Haircut itself was below average, rushed. I've had better haircuts for half the price. Will never bother here again. read more
