One of the best parts is the convenience of being able to walk there, which makes it feel like a true local gem. I always book with Quyen, who is excellent, and my son gets his hair cut here as well. While they offer a great value on a standard haircut, I highly recommend going all in with the full shave and facial package. My beard tends to get out of control, and she fixes it up just right--better than I could ever do myself at home. It is incredibly relaxing and worth every penny to hit that level of total zen. While I think the beard trim was well done what bothers me anywhere is when a service provider posts a price and then when paying they change it. I did a basic beard trim which is a $15 item until the barber quotes me $22. I point to the price list mounted next to her to question and what I get is a very heavily accented person talking behind a mask so I have no clue what she said. Went to Lee's Barbershop after reading some good reviews and was super happy with the experience I had. I walked in at around 3:30 PM on Sunday and was immediately guided to a seat at Van's station. I began by showing him some photos for reference and providing a little detail about what I was hoping for from this haircut. Soon after Van got started, I knew I was in good hands. Usually, when a barber starts with a razor I hesitate but did not need to in this case. Van started with one razor before cycling through a sequence of three or four more, each with different adjustments. He was confident and thorough at every step of the process and checked in with me at various stages to ensure that I was happy with how things were turning out. When he switched over to using scissors, he demonstrated a mastery of his craft that was truly impressive. After 20-30 minutes of work, Van checked in with me once again to see how I felt before making the final adjustments and trimming. As we wrapped up, he included a hot towel, some light massaging, and did an excellent job cleaning up some facial hair and the back of the neck area. I was truly impressed and will definitely be coming back to see him. At $22, not including tip, the price point was excellent and I look forward to my next visit. read more

I've been going here for about three years now, my go to guy is Van, always does a great job! I've gotten great haircuts from others here too. I don't feel like the few negative reviews are fair. My advice to anyone trying a new barber: show them pictures of what you want, especially if you can't describe it. This shop is full of professional, personable, kind staff that are experts in what they do. Quyen has been cutting my and my son's hair for the past year; she is excellent every time. The shop has a straightforward reservation system in their website - definitely a must to use bc this place is always busy. Walk ins, especially on weekends, might require a bit of a wait. I was recommended to come here by a coworker and it was easy to make an appointment online which I really appreciated. After seeing some good reviews about Van I decided to go with him as my barber. He did an excellent job and gave me exactly what I wanted! He had an incredible attention to detail, and every time I was about to open my mouth to ask for a small change he had already started fixing it! I had a fantastic experience with Van. He did a phenomenal job with the style I was going for as well as the added services that Lee Barber Shop offers (namely massage and shampoo). I strongly recommend simply going for it and getting their best package. It was a very good experience. The shop is clean and they did great work making sure that there were barriers among the patrons as well as masking. To clarify the rating. I'd say 4/5 of the staff are professional and capable and do their job well and seem capable of a variety of styles. However, 1 of them, while I have to say is improving, just doesn't really get it done as well. They're good for kids and perhaps winter time for men (when longer hair isn't terrible), but they can't seem to grasp a good fade. The rest are great tho, so worth a trip, but I think I'll start booking appointments to avoid him. read more

I was passing by this store and decided to give it a try. I didn't call or make any reservations, just showed up around noon and everything seemed decent and place was empty. I had long hair so I wasn't sure what style I want, Dana took great care of me and cut and fixed my hair and I loved it. I recommend this place to any gender and age groups. It's affordable too. The shop was very clean and they are very good at disinfecting everything. There's plexiglass dividers for added protection. Everyone is wearing PPE. I felt very confident in their Covid-19 precautions. Dana and Don have excellent customer service. They really know how to make clients feel comfortable and happy! Tried Lee's for the first time this past week and left completely impressed. I hadn't had my haircut in ages (like, honestly, a year) and I don't mind admitting I looked a complete and utter mess. Don drew the short straw and got stuck with my birds nest, but he took he all the time in the world, almost like this was a personal challenge to his skills! And my hair cut was Performed very professionally . Vincent (the Barber). Skillfully cut my hair while keeping my mask on. He very skillfully faded the sides into the top And also used a razor to clean the edges. He was very skillful And Attentive. And before I knew it the hair cut was done. The price was very fair. She was gentle and very friendly but I honestly believe that this barbershop does a better job at cutting certain texture of hair and if you have curly or a different grade of hair that is not particularly straight and fine this is not the shop for you. I have been coming to Lee's on Lee barbershop since 2015. This place is a legit neighborhood barbershop. Everyone in there is super friendly and Sandy and Van are great along with the owner. They will give you a fantastic haircut plus a strait razor old school barber shave on your neck, then a hot towel and 5 min shoulder massage. Best $20 you will spend on a haircut. What a great neighborhood barber shop! All the stylists are very good -- you can't go wrong. After a nice haircut, you also get a neck massage and a bottle of water for free. But what makes this such a special place for me is that they are more than willing to cut my adult son's hair, who has special needs and is not the most patient or cooperative customer. I noticed this place open up in that sketchy looking row of retail shops on Lee Highway, just east of George Mason Dr. Now, I'm normally extremely loyal to Chau at the Hair Cuttery in Lee Centre, but she was on an exetended vacation and I was getting a little shaggy, so I stopped in to this place. I admit, I was lured by the promise of a few extras: hot towels, head message, a soda while you wait. The Saturday afternoon I visited, there were three stylists working. "Sandy," one of the stylists, seemed to be in charge, since she was sort of supervising the other two stylists while also cutting hari herself. In fact, the other woman stylist in the place, "Dana," didn't seem to speak any English, and "Sandy" had to translate "Dana's" customer's requests for her. The male stylist, "John," seemed a bit more independent, but was still under the watchful eye of "Sandy." I put the names in quotes since all three stylists were Vietnamese and clearly adopted these nommes-de-guerre. (Interesting side note, Sandy doesn't look Vietnamese but, in fact, is and speaks English with a heavy Vietnamese accent. She's a very nice lady and has an interesting personal story.) I also noticed "Sandy" was the only stylist with her license displayed. Seeing these warning signs I waited under "Sandy" was available. Overall, she did a nice job and was an expert with the straight razor she used for the edges. The hot towel and and head massage were nice extras, but I have a couple gripes. First, the floor was covered with prior customers' hair. Please sweep up after each customer. Second, there's no wash or rinse included with the basic service, so I left the place with itchy hair all over me ("Sandy" didn't even brush off my shirt or neck.) Lastly, I noticed that the other stylists seemed to be inexperienced - they were very slow. Their lack of a publicly-displayed license troubled me enough to avoid them. "Sandy" was good, but they're going to have to improve some things if I were ever to return. read more

I am basing this review on two visits and I am a male in my mid 20's so my hairstyling needs are not that high. The staff here is very attentive to their customers and its always been a very pleasant atmosphere. Complimentary drink are always available and offered to the customers. John has always finished the hair cut with a shave of my hair line, head massage with this nifty handheld massager and hot towel to clean any lingering hairs off. They usually stay open as late as they have customers. With tip I pay around 20 or so. read more
