I was in NYC for a couple of days and decided to pop into this store on the spur of the moment because it was close to my hotel. I wasn't really expecting much (I didn't expect them to carry my size and didn't think I would have much luck if they did), but I had a terrific experience. Jordan was patient and thorough and careful and kind. She made sure I was comfortable, sized me correctly, and gave me a ton of options to try on. They were all beautiful. She explained the benefits and drawbacks of the different styles in terms of how they would fit me, and I came away with five fabulous bras that gave me a new attitude and a whole new appreciation for my weird-shaped boobs. The selection is amazing and the staff is so friendly and helpful. This visit was the highlight of my trip. I look forward to returning and can't imagine buying bras anywhere else. GO! You will be delighted.

A person who worked there made eye contact as we entered and literally just stared- I gave a normal half smile anticipating a "hello" or "welcome" from her, but she just looked at us. We browsed around until my friend ASKED for help. At no point throughout the entire time did anyone offer me assistance. I found myself a bra, I asked to try it on, I did, I bought it. Not abnormal, but did not align with expectations. Always baffles me when people working in customer service and retail positions will ignore people trying to spend money in the store. Would not recommend nor return.

I vowed to visit the shop next time I was in the area, and last weekend, I made good on that promise. First of all, the shop itself is adorable. I feel like I'm in a friend's house, looking through her closet. All of the merchandise is so thoughtfully created and intricate. It's all great and it's all special. Be not afraid of the higher priced handmade pieces. There are affordable panties and bralettes etc. priced for any lady to treat herself. Besides lingerie in lots of sizes, they also have bathing suits and accessories. The customer service I received here by the owner and her team was exceptional. So welcoming and warm. They shared with me photos of a wedding dress Suzie created. It was absolutely lovely. Much nicer than my mass-produced wedding dress. I love supporting small businesses and here, you're REALLY getting the quality and designs you won't find elsewhere. I am going out of my way (literally, to Red Hook) to shop at Winkworth again and again and again.

You see, in addition…read moreto Susie's line of gorgeous, silk georgette negligees, this dainty boutique is the best place in the city to find Princesse Tam-Tam underthings. PTT is a French brand which manages to be dainty but not frilly, feminine but not girlish, sexy but never trashy. I have sets in Liberty prints and others in lace; panties and thongs - all are beautifully made and fit/support like a dream. While it's relatively inexpensive in its native France, currency exchange being what it is, a PTT bra will currently run you $50-$60. Not exorbitant, I know, but a lot for me. Even so, I make the trek to this rather remote block in Red Hook - from Greenpoint , less - every few months. The owners Susie and Sonia and the adorable French salesgirl, Melanie, are all warm and charming and genuinely excited about lingerie. While there's a lingerie boutique's lack of reserve, there is no snobbery, no disinterested manhandling a la Town Shop or rather humiliating appraisal as at Orchard Street Corsets. It feels friendly rather than exclusive, completely comfortable and very relaxing. Highly recommended to any gal who wants something lovely but doesn't want the Italian-mistress feeling of leaving a La Perla.

She refused to continue business with me. I went to a seamstress who informed me that the gown was not cut right and couldn't be fixed. I called Bossina Couture and literally begged her to correct her error, she refused. My husband went to the store and offered to pay more for another gown, the owner dismissed him and told him to leave. I paid cash for this gown!!!!
