The easiest car inspection I've experienced. Called up around 2pm to see if they had availability for my car to be inspected, and they said it seemed slow today so I could be seen right away. 10 minutes later u pull up and was immediately greeted by Zach. He was so nice and attentive, answering any questions ok and I had, and patient while waiting for me to pull up my insurance on my phone. 30 minutes max, in and out, allowing me to make it back to the Tax Office to complete my registration. He made the whole process easy peasy! Would recommend them to anyone. read more

Overall such a negative experience. 10 minutes? Not hardly. This place was recommended by someone else I know so I went there instead of my normal location I had gone to for years down the street, and, well, I paid for it. Live and learn. Went here early in the morning to get my car inspected for registration. The gentleman there was at first a bit frustrated for some reason which affected his customer service and also gave me a bad first impression but I found out he was having a bad day and towards the end of the day he apologized for his frustration. Don't bother. They fail your car on dumb stuff like they don't want to earn money. Has happened on two separate cars so will not be back ever to waste my time. I took both cars to a quick lube afterwards. Both cars passed and I asked about the specific "violations" and was shown that they indeed passed inspection according to state regulations and if I was told they did not pass then the person had no clue what they were doing. read more

I've been to a number of these inspection stations in Austin area the past 6 or 7 years and this one is by far the best. From arrival time to out the door was less than 15 minutes total and there were two other customers ahead of us! No attempt to sell us anything other than the inpsection where the fees are pretty much the same ecerywhere. Very friendly and most of all clean and comfortable waiting area. (This is where many of the others fail). Worth the extra drive from anywhere in North/NW or NE Austin and the only place I would go if I lived in Pflugerville, Round Rock, Hutto, Taylor, Georgetown or Cedar Park/Leander. read more

Lightning fast inspection, I'll never waste time going to a regular auto shop for an inspection again!! Highly recommend this place, however if your car isn't going to pass inspection I don't believe they do repairs so that may be something to consider if your on the fence on if your car will pass or not! read more

Surprisingly a pleasant trip. State inspection took 8 minutes. Dustin was really cool, got to work, and took care of the rest. (5) Supplemental info: 1.Is it ever packed/busier days? No, varies but less than 30 cars per week versus 30-60 per week the Cedar Park location receives. 2. Small, but quaint waiting area with plenty of fans. Tidy & clean. Neighboring a gas station and so not really any parking spots. You'd park next to a sign that says "park here for inspection etc" (Can't miss it). 3.Bring your insurance. ID if out of state plates. The site is extremely simple/helpful for pricing, what you need to bring, & some FAQs: http://www.stickerexpresstx.com/home-decor-styling/ 4. $18.50 for the safety & emissions I did. Will depend on what you go for/year of your car (check the website). Payment was after services. They take CC, but I did cash. No up-sell or any shenanigans. In-N-Out. 5. No stickers. Will need to find an HEB that has that service/renew online at state side so they can mail you the new "two in one sticker" etc. Was very glad and happy to take a gamble on this place. I moved to Texas from out of state recently and had no idea what to expect with the whole state inspection process. (Back in Delaware the inspection is provided free of charge at the state DMV facilities at the same time the registration is renewed). I found Inspection Express on Yelp and was impressed by the reviews, so I hopped in my car and went to the Round Rock location. I'm so glad I did! I got lucky and had no cars ahead of me, so they were able to get me in immediately. I didn't catch the name of the technician but he was super nice and professional. I was out of there in 10 minutes at the most, and was very happy with the service and price. Like most places it's busy. So the 10 min means from the time you are attended. If you have an aversion to cigarette smoke it might be best to go elsewhere. They smoke in the building. Its open to outside but the smell and fumes still permeate into the waiting area. read more

Eric is a horrible and rude inspector. I took my camper trailer to have it inspected since I live right down the street. He was sitting by himself with headphones on playing with his phone when I apparently interrupted him. He rudely told me that he does not inspect trailers at this location and to go the the Cedar Park location. I drove 30 minutes to the Cedar Park location to find out that Eric lied to me!! Cedar Park is very nice and has great customer service. Eric needs to attend a customer service class or if he doesn't want to do his job then work somewhere else. read more

I was there for state inspection, a young man said he is a manager, no smile/hi....etc...after less than 10 minutes, he said passed, I paid, left station and felt the engine running rough, I said what the hell he did to my truck? then when I stopped at repair shop, they found out that he f..up with my gas cap, they fixed it, cost my $$$$, I knew no way I can blame on him due to no evidence. This is my go to place now that i live outside of Austin. You always get in and out fast, even when there's a line. The people who run it are honest and will help you out with advice if they have any based off your situation. I always tell people invest in an OBD2 tester that has the emissions test and test it beforehand. It can save a lot of trouble, since that's usually the reason someone would normally fail. If you're looking for a thorough mechanic inspection where they test and check everything, then this isn't the stop for you, but if you want a quick inspection without a lot of hassle, then this is the place you should go. Went here to get my car inspected about a month ago. On my first visit, the car's coolant reservoir bubbled over and leaked out everywhere. Dustin was working and offered to help fix it. We drove back home to try another day. Came back a few days later and Eric was working. He was AWFUL. Just rude and unpleasant. Left and came back the next day when Dustin was working again. He was not rude at all and to be fair there are a lot of people out there who aren't big talkers. My registration was coming due and by chance I received a coupon in the mail for discount off an inspection. It was very timely so I decided to give this place a try and went by on a Monday around 5:30p. I was prepared for a wait but was pleasantly surprised to find no line. In the past, I had gone to local garages and had often been told to return at a different time because their inspector was at lunch or off that day. That definitely wasn't the case here as the inspector was ready to go as soon as I pulled up. I told him I had a coupon for an inspection and he made sure I understood it was only $3 off, not $5. (The coupon value differed based on what time of day you show up. I could appreciate that he wanted to clarify that up front!) He asked for my insurance, which I handed to him, and then told me he'd have me out in ~10 minutes. I stepped into the waiting area, which is definitely "no frills", but it offered a great view of my car while he worked on it. A couple more drivers lined up shortly after and he briefly broke away from the inspection of my car to acknowledge them. I didn't notice if the inspector had a name tag but the receipt indicates his name was Parnell. I definitely appreciated how he approached his job. He handled everything quickly, politely, and efficiently, and true to his word, my inspection was done in about 10 minutes. He informed me that the result of my inspection was now in the system and then took my credit card for payment and applied the coupon discount. I definitely intend to come back next year and will recommend this location to my friends and family too. For maximum efficiency, definitely have your insurance ready when you pull up as it is the first thing you'll be asked for. read more
