I recently got an oil change here, and not long after, my car dumped ALL of its oil into my driveway because the drain plug/oil cap was apparently not tightened correctly. This could have caused serious damage to my engine and created a huge safety issue. An oil change is basic maintenance, and something this careless is unacceptable. Now I'm left dealing with the mess, stress, and potential repair costs because of someone else's negligence. I would strongly recommend NOT going here unless you want to risk serious damage to your vehicle from careless work. read more

As advertised, they were done in under 10 minutes. They also charged $85, which is about 50% more than their slightly-slower competitors. All things considered I'd rather spend less money and more time, but if you're in a hurry and money is no object this place is right up your alley. read more

This locatioon has changed names over the years but the quality of service remains excellent. ONE NOTE: They did not do inspections anymore when I visited 10/24!!! The staff meets you outside the auto bay to quickly assess your needs. They took my information for even quicker future visits (which there wil be). They accesed my car year/model to find the best lubricant. Alk fluids were changed or topped off and the car returned clean and quickly. They even put my new registration sticker in for me! I have had oil changes here several times & will probably return in the future. However, the secret pricing is so annoying! I know many of the oil change companies do it. Am I military or senior citizen? Do I have a coupon? Did I ask nicely for an on-the-spot discount? Yuck. Just let me pay a fair price and be on my way. read more

Worst place. No one cared in the least. I was told each car would take 10 minutes as advertised and there were about 6 or so cars in line and 2 bays so that seemed reasonable. About an hour later two cars had moved through each bay. There was one car in the bay in front of me. That car sat there for at least 30 minutes. No one was doing anything with it. The hood was up. There was one girl dancing around, smoking her vape and raising the roof. Another girl just kept going back and forth but no one was doing anything on that car. The truck in the other bay had been sitting there at least 20 minutes. I clearly got in the line that no one there knew existed. Suddenly some guys that work there showed up, sipping on their drinks and then started laughing and joking with the girls but still no one was doing a damn thing on that car in front of me. I finally just cut my losses and backed out before someone got in line behind me. When I pulled out and pulled around to go down Austin avenue, there was still no one doing anything on that car. If there was an issue, someone should have let me know. You need pull down that 10 minute sign, chop it up, and spread it out over a field because bullshit makes great fertilizer. You also need to hire a grown crew, not these children. This was on 1/5. I finally backed out around 2:50 PM. If anyone there cares to check the cameras to verify my story. read more

Not a Good Experience - Three Visits Just to Get Oil in My Car I visited the Strickland Brothers on 29 in Georgetown last Friday for a routine oil change. This is usually my go-to location, and I've never had major issues--until now. When I arrived, there were cars in both bays, so I waited about 20 minutes, which was fine. Once in the bay, the technician asked me what kind of oil my car needed. I explained the car was new to me and I hadn't had an oil change yet, but they typically look it up. He left to confirm with another tech who seemed to have a differing opinion on the oil needed, then came back and showed me two lower-cost options but recommended the more expensive synthetic oil based on mileage (even though they hadn't asked for my mileage yet). I had a $25 coupon and planned to use synthetic anyway, so I agreed. They completed the oil change and told me all fluids had been topped off. I paid $104 with my coupon and drove off--only for my car to immediately display a "Check Engine Oil at Next Refueling" warning. I pulled over, reset the oil metrics, and continued driving. My coolant warning kept flashing too (it was low prior), and I assumed the sensors needed time to update. But after 40+ miles, the same oil and coolant warnings continued. When I got home, I checked the dipstick--no oil. I checked the coolant-still low. By that time, they were closed, so I went back the next morning. I explained the situation but was immediately met with skeptical looks, as if I didn't know what I was talking about. One attendant seemed confused because the tip of the dipstick was brown--I had to point out that wasn't oil just the color of the dipstick. Another claimed the issue was probably just the oil light needing to be reset, which I had already done. Despite the warning messages and a dipstick showing no oil, they insisted everything was fine and sent me on my way. That day, my car began sputtering, and I noticed a metal-on-metal smell. I went back (again), caught a manager from the Round Rock location, and explained everything. He checked and confirmed there was no oil in the engine. It took four quarts to get it back to normal. Thankfully he was helpful and gave me brake cleaner to clean off oil that been spilled on the engine cover earlier that day. Mistakes happen, and I wasn't even upset about the initial oversight. But being dismissed and talked down to--especially after returning with a legitimate concern--is unacceptable. It felt like I wasn't taken seriously and if it had been my husband, Im sure things would have played out differently. If I hadn't kept pushing, I would've kept driving with dangerously low oil levels, risking serious engine damage. Extremely disappointed with how this was handled. I expected more professionalism and accountability--especially when the mistake could have cost me a car. read more

I recently moved to Georgetown and was in desperate need of an oil change. I would often see SB as I drove to the square, so I thought I would try them out. Well... I'm glad I did! It's a convenient drive-thru experience. When I arrived, there were 2 vehicles being worked on. I decided to listen to a podcast and respond to some work emailed as I waited... which was not long at all (maybe 10-15 mins). Once it was my turn, I met Michael. What a kind and patient soul he is! The service itself was quick, but thorough. I had to take an important work call just as Michael was trying to enter my new contact info! I mouthed, whispered and used my fingers (for my phone #). He was SO patient! Once completed, I received my receipt and was offered a bottle of water. He must have read my mind! I was parched! After a few more exchanges and him officially welcoming me to Georgetown, I was off! Thank you so much, Michael! I'll be looking for you on my next visit! And I will definitely be back! They were great, very very very fast. Everyone was nice, no one is trying to push sales to you (meaning, they aren't trying to convince you to get something you don't want/need). 15 minutes in and out on a Friday! Best place in Georgetown. The guys are super nice and helpful. I asked them to check my tires also because I had low tire pressure and they took care of that as well. They don't try to up charge you on extra things like other places do. FAST SERVICES WERE NOT WORTH THE HORRIBLE HEADACHE. I went to get an oil change because my husband sent me here. It was convenient because they claimed to be fast. I was in the midst of opening my new business, so I had no time for an oil change. Upon arrival, the staff was nice and friendly. I paid around $140 because apparently, my car required a euro brand oil or something similar. After the oil change, I embarked on a busy day running all over town to prepare for my business opening in three days. However, I immediately noticed a burnt oil smell. My husband and Google said it was normal, so I dismissed it. Throughout the day, my sister and I experienced horrible headaches, and I even lost my voice. We felt sick and miserable, attributing it to the burnt oil smell in the car. The next day, I dropped my kids off at school, but the smell persisted, and my youngest complained of a headache and feeling sick. Despite the ongoing headaches, we had numerous errands to complete, spending most of the day in the car, and the headaches worsened. Around 4 pm, after picking up my kids, we planned to go to South Austin for more supplies. However, due to the severe headaches, I asked my husband to check the truck and the oil, suspecting that the burnt oil smell might be the cause of our discomfort. To my surprise, my husband found the engine covered in oil and rushed back to Strickland. They didn't apologize and blamed the issue on the filter manufacturer. They claimed to have cleaned the engine, refilled the oil and topped it off with a new filter. Later that evening, while driving on the toll, I smelled the burnt oil again, but my husband insisted the problem was fixed. Reading recent reviews, I found others had experienced the same issues. As we were reading the reviews, our truck's warning system alerted us of "NO OIL." We hurriedly stopped at a store and discovered there was no oil in the truck, despite driving from Georgetown to Del Valle (South Austin). Since the company was closed, we had no way to contact them. We bought oil from Autozone and refilled it, fearing another leak or faulty filter. The next day, when I called them, they asked me to drive the truck to them, but I felt uncomfortable driving it with a potential leak and no time before my business opening. Finally, the manager agreed to send a technician to check the truck at my business. The technician found no significant issues through the code machine but discovered they hadn't refilled the oil after the faulty filter change, based on security camera footage. The technician suggested I take the truck back to them the next morning for further inspection and to clean any oil residue. At this point, I wanted to speak to the manager directly, as I didn't trust them to touch my car after driving it a long distance with no oil. I preferred taking it to VW for a full diagnostic to ensure no further damage occurred. However, they refused to provide their insurance information. They suggested their mechanic in Round Rock, but I declined, wanting to take it to a local mechanic I trust, Georgetown Interstate, but they refused claiming it would be to expensive. Unfortunately, I never received a follow-up or a refund. As a business owner, I would have relied on my business insurance to handle such situations. I do not recommend srtickland brothers to anyone in town. The fast service is not worth the possible car issues. read more

Y'all. This place is fantastic. I pulled in and needed an oil change, but they were out of the type of oil my vehicle requires. The guy wrote down exactly what kind I needed and how much - and let me know if I went and purchased it, they'd do the change for $25! So I ran down to the auto parts place, picked up the oil, and was in and out within 12 minutes. Pretty dang quick! My two kids didn't even have a chance to start crying, ahahah! Compared to my last oil change experience, which was 90+ minutes long -- this place was a breath of fresh air. read more

Recently moved to the area and needed an oil change. Checked out a few places on-line, Strickland Brothers sounded reputable so figured I would give them a try. Service when I arrived was friendly, in & out quickly, sounds good, right? Well - got home and parked the car in the driveway of my new home and when I moved the car the next day, there were oil stains in my previously spot-free driveway. I took it somewhere else to have it checked out and it turns out that the oil filter was not secured correctly (hope that makes sense - obviously I'm not a mechanic). No excuse for this - sounds like basic Oil Change 101 stuff. Not sure if I will return. All depends if I can get the oil stains off of my driveway. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!! I made the mistake of taking my moms car here, from the second I pulled into the garage the mechanic was already commenting on how I drive the worst car ever (2017 Subaru,) and how those are the worst cars to work on. They started the service by saying something about an oil cap. I trusted that they knew what they were doing. That was a mistake. Fast forward to me needing a new oil change, I take it to Lambs and they show me a softball size dent in my oil pan, and that the filter wasn't installed properly. They tell me I cannot have an oil change done until I replace the pan, that service was quoted at over $500. I spoke to the manager and area manager who are refusing to take liability for the damage. I will never recommend this company to anyone. A "quick," oil change left permanent damage on my car . Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed. I hope nothing like this happens to anyone else, especially because the company refuses to right their wrong doings. read more
