I ordered a box of six cookies for pick up last night. First off, it is great how the whole concept of Insomnia is that they stay open late. I was really craving something sweet and I wanted to share with my friends so I knew this would be the spot to cure the cravings! I ordered brown toffee butter, cookies n cream, chocolate chunk, and snickerdoodle, which are their classic cookies. I also ordered their confetti and salted caramel which are their deluxe cookies. They were all delicious as usual. The deluxe cookies are more expensive but they are double the size of their classic cookies. My favorite was the salted caramel, it's a must-try. The spot is small, but that doesn't matter much because people usually order to take home. The woman working was very kind and efficient. My order was ready on time and I had no problem getting it. This location is awesome and you should definitely try Insomnia out if you haven't already! read more

Went tonight after a rough night and the girls in there were so lovely and personable they made my night! Cookies always so delicious!

Always a great place to get a sweet treat around Kent. The cookies are always warm and have great ratio of cookie to mix in, if you get one with stuff in it. The vegan chocolate chunk and vegan double chocolate chunk cookies are very good and it's very nice that they have vegan options available. read more

My cookies are always good at this place. Always warm and melty and they have ice cream too

Went to Insomnia last night with my wife after having a dinner and drinks in Kent. We got two chocolate chip and one peanut butter cookies. Cookies were small and the chocolate chip was over baked. 3 small cookies for 8 bucks. Did not see the value in this purchase. read more

I decided to try Insomnia cookies for dessert after having lunch near by. The smell that hits you when you walk in, lickable air!!! It's hard to resist. I checked out their ice cream options, they have about 6 different flavors. This time around, I opted for a snickerdoodle. I was surprised when I got it, that it was soft and warm. I was a very delicious cookie. So good, the following week, the hubs and I ate lunch near by and I told him he had to stop in. This time I ordered a MnM cookie and he ordered an ice cream sandwich. It was very delicious!! I should mention that the also deliver which is awesome being next to a university!! read more

What's not to like about warm, tasty cookies? They're open late, which is perfect if you are stumbling out of a bar. I was full from dinner and stopped in to grab some cookies (which ended up being breakfast the next day). They have a decent variety, including a few gluten free. read more

My family and I love Insomnia cookies! We go out of our way to stop by and grab some cookies when we are near one of these. My oldest daughter just wants the "cookie" dough ice cream topping as we rarely get ice cream but with all our cookie purchases we can usually get the "cookie toppings" too! read more

Such an amazing little shop. We bought a large selection of flavors and were not disappointed in the least. I wish the Lemon ones were year round but it's probably a good thing they are not or I would be in a sugar coma. The gentleman working was so nice and he did not mind making me some hot ones to round out my order. I for sure will be back and will be sending these to friends and family! read more

So good! They delivery fast not to expensive. The cookies have always been delivered warm.

Insomnia handled a big complicated order for a gift, perfectly. They went above and beyond to get the details perfect. The order was ready right on time, even though I missed something and added it after the order went in. Everyone loved the gift. It was one of those situations where the gifts go home with the giftee without being opened, but I and everyone else involved already have had Insomnia cookies before, and we all already know how amazing they are! So it was a big hit with everyone! (I was buying a group gift from several people together.) Thank you! read more

Great little hole in the wall open late with a few seats inside. Amazing s'more cookie!! Great staff too! Eat them there and hot. Cookies are already baked and just sit for a long time til you order them they are microwaved. Took 6 home and they were stiff as boards and inedible. read more

All I can say is WOW! My son kept telling me that we were really missing out so we finally stopped by. Absolutely delicious s'mores and salted caramel cookies! So worth just dropping in and will definitely be back. The cookies were served warm and melty (if that's been a word!) Since we ate them later we microwaved them for a few seconds and they were amazing! My son and his roommates stop in often. He says there's usually a line in the late evenings but still worth the wait! read more

If you love fresh and warm baked cookies, this is the place for you. We recently went to visit Kent and stopped here and left completely happy. The store itself is situated in one of the strip of downtown Kent--one of the cutest places in the area. It is very small and not a place that you can eat in or anything. The goal is for you to go here, order some fresh from the over cookies, and then leave very happy. We accomplished this and then some. Insomniac cookies are so good and taste like my homemade ones. The chocolate chip are clearly a favorite, but please be sure to try the sugar, the oatmeal, and the chocolate chocolate chip. In addition, they have some of the best brownies around--deep and dense and super chocolatey. We ended up leaving with one dozen and then some. The prices are very reasonable and competitive with that of any grocery store or bakery that does their own home baked cookies. The staff there consists of one or two people behind the small counter and usually this is a young college student. I guess if you are a person who lives in the area, they also deliver and at all times of the evening--bonus and sorry we don't' live closer. Great little place if you are in Kent. read more

I live in a college town. Most of the businesses here are run by college students, so understandably I don't always expect to receive the best quality of service. I don't really write poor reviews on this site, but I was very disappointed with my last Insomnias visit. The entire store is extremely small, so it gets crowded very easily. When I walked in the business there was no form of a line, which made ordering somewhat confusing. When I finally was able to make it to the counter, the store was out of over half of the cookies that they normally have to offer. The employees were also very disinterested and somewhat rude, and didn't really seem to care about the chaos that was ongoing. All I wanted was a snickerdoodle cookie, but I had to settle for a chocolate chip. Even though I like chocolate chip cookies, it wasn't what I originally intended to purchase. I'll think twice about visiting insomnias next time I'm in the mood for a cookie. read more

Insomnia Cookies - So good - Desserts Near Me - Kent, Ohio

I have to wonder about the longevity prospects of a business whose primary function is delivering cookies at 3am but I have to say they do have some tasty cookies. A friend and I went here after dinner the other evening and I was quite pleased to find they had milk to go along with those cookies (and ice cream to those of you interested in a cookie sundae or sandwich combo!) I was a bit disappointed they were out of the S'more cookie and any milk other than whole at that time but this wasn't a big deal (they are fairly new) and the cashier was apologetic and extremely friendly. I ordered the triple chocolate (and a milk) and my friend got the peanut butter cup. The cookies were large and warm and mine was packed with gooey chocolate deliciousness. I have to say you'd be hard pressed to find a more delicious cookie for sale anywhere else (no one can compete with mom!) but you're going to need that milk for all the richness and a couple hand towels for the ooey gooey mess! I think they're fairly priced considering the "novelty" and this would be a nice place to grab a sweet snack. The interior is small, the staff seems very nice, and boy does it smell delicious! read more

The cookies are really good but only if they are fresh, after a few hours they aren't so great but they aren't meant to be stored. I love their brownie topped with cookie dough and ice cream. read more

WOW!! Is all I can say, get the peanut butter cup cookie sandwich with ice cream!! It was heaven on earth!!

These cookies are so good and it's so nice that they deliver late at night! The cookies are always warm and fresh out of the oven when you get them which is a plus. The only thing is that they are very overpriced, but definately still good! read more

Only had two chocolate chip cookies in the whole store. Horrible customer service, didn't tell me they were out of what I ordered until after I paid. read more

I was hopeful to give more stars, but was just disappointed with my experience. My wife and I stopped by for a couple cookies while walking around town. I was excited when she mentioned it was fresh out of the oven. While fresh, it was an absolute mess. I could in no way even hold it. I should have been given a spoon because it was SO soft and the chocolate completely melted, that it wasn't even manageable. While the taste was good, I can't even really call it a cookie, mostly just a big mess. (My wife enjoyed her different cookie that was baked normally) read more

Great cookies! Lots of different flavors, and all baked fresh. And the best part? They are open until like 3am! And the even better best part? They deliver that late! Want milk and cookies, or a brownie and ice cream delivered to your door in the middle of the night? Done! Have to love living in a college town! read more

I understand CoVid and the number of people allowed to be present per square footage. My family of five entered Insomnia Cookies and we were told due to capacity only two could come in so three of us exited. Being Insomnia Cookies was new to us they lost three orders because we had no idea what our options even were in the way of ordering. When my two family members exited a family of six entered and none of them were told to exit. There had been no changes in number of people present inside other than my two family members leaving as we were standing outside in the cold waiting. After having lunch at Barrio, I thought I would get a cookie for desert. I walked in, hardly anyone present and someone working (a manager? Feeding his face with a cookie) proceeded to tell me they were at capacity and I had to leave. Very disappointed I didn't get to try one of their cookies and not impressed with their professionalism. I did not see a sign outside stating capacity as most small businesses do. Another lost sale from an out of towner. read more

This is one place I HAVE to stop at whenever I'm in town . The cookies are always spot on fresh and the guys working the counter are friendly and knowledgeable about the company. I'd love to see an Insomnia come to Allendale , MI - the students at GVSU would truly enjoy them as much as I do. Last nights special was buy 4 get 2 free . I bought a dozen we even sampled the cannoli ice cream and the cake batter ! Both delish of course - can't wait to try the new cookies coming soon read more

Mandy L., a previous reviewer of Insomnia Cookies, asks the rhetorical question regarding the longevity of a business that pretty much only sells cookies, ice cream and milk to drunk people late at night. The answer, of course, is the longest longevity that ever longeved. Even in the ashes of World War III, Insomnia Cookies will stand, because a house made of cookies is like Switzerland - no one will attack it because everyone loves it, because of its delicious chocolate. Insomnia Cookies opens sometime around noon and closes shortly after the bars do. Oddly enough, they deliver cookies too, though their delivery radius is pretty small, from what I hear. Whenever I am in Kent for lunch or dinner, I always stop by IC for a quick, cheap desert. Most of my friends are girls, and girls seem to love the S'more Cookie, which is a chocolate cookie with chocolate chips, marshmallow gooey swirl stuff, and graham chunks. And most women find more pleasure from that cookie than they ever have or will have with any man. Especially if I am that man. I, on the other hand, always get the white chocolate macadamia nut, which is to die for. The cookies are always warm and soft and gooey and melty. They have milk and ice cream. I haven't had the ice cream, so I don't know if it's good, though I'm sure it is. They often have Superman ice cream, so they get points there. Regarding milk, milk is milk so I'm sure it's fine. They don't have a lot of seating, but that's fine. Since you just got a cookie meal from a cookie restaurant, you should probably start walking some of those calories off anyhow. If you're in town and want a pretty great cookie. Stop by Insomnia Cookies. The prices are cheap, so you can try quite a few. If you love chocolate, be sure to get the s'more cookie. read more

You can't go wrong with providing cookies as a late night snack for all us night walkers- kudos for smart thinking. But I can say that I've had better, maybe I just caught the business on an off night but my peanut butter cookie was...just okay. Definitely not the worst I've ever tasted, & the staff was pretty laid back & my friends & I were able to joke around with them; always a plus. I'd be willing to give this place another chance . read more

I tried both the double chocolate mint, and peanut butter cookies. Very good and came warm. 1.25 each.

Love the cookies but have had terrible service and experiences with the kent location. Last weekend I ordered around 11 pm and didn't receive my cookies until after 3 am & I was in bed!!! I waited in line to find out that their credit card machine is not working so its cash only. Ok, I'm in luck, I have cash! I pick out three cookies, and a small ice for about $10. I have a $50 dollar bill and find out that they wont take my cash either. They recommend I go get something smaller and come back. Are you kidding! Here's an idea - offer me a free cookie and apologize for not being able to take a credit card or anything larger than a $20. This was my first and last visit. Additional concern: The people working there are the future of America. read more

I Wasn't impressed with this location at all. They were out of almost all of the cookies the night we went. The guy working told us the previous employee didn't leave him with anything, so he had to bake everything himself. He couldn't keep up. They had a small selection to choose from and none of their specialty cookies were available. My mother in law wanted one of the specialty cookies that were on display but he said it would be 20+ minutes. She decided on a brownie after that. It was dry and tasted a day or two old. My cookies were ooey and gooey and just came out of the oven. They were tasty but after we had been waiting for ten minutes he served two other girls that just walked in ahead of us. Overall a poor experience and probably won't be back. read more

Love the cookies here and usually always get it delivered, but the last few orders they have always forgotten something. Extremely annoying and starting to waste my money. I'm currently in contact with their support team because I do not like being robbed multiple times. read more

I love handing out cookies on Kent Campus because everyone eats them up in like 20 minutes. Very good place to get your sweet tooth on.

These cookies are super yummy. They are a bit pricey though. 12 cookies ran $15. They were very delicious though. I will be back for more.

These cookies are delicious! perfect for a town full of college students. Secondly, every time I go into Insomnia, the workers are very kind and that can be hard to come by here in Kent in my opinion. Keep being awesome Insomnia Cookies! read more
