Pies, pies, pies except for the occasional brownie that's all they sell. But they sell out quick, best to call ahead and pay online. The two girls that work there can be busy when a bus load comes in. They probably make a hundred different pies, but only make five or ten different a day. But if they are making 1,000 apple pies don't expect them to make one peach for you. The Ambiance, well they sell pies, other than being clean, what do you expect. read more

Gardner pies are delicious and there are so many great flavors. We got there around 2 pm and they had already sold out of a lot of their fresh pies. They had a lot of frozen options, but we decided to go with what they had left - cinnamon pumpkin, pineapple, and one peach crumb. They were all good, especially the cinnamon pumpkin which had the best flavor and perfect creamy texture. The outlet prices are great - treat yourself! read more

Used them as a fundraiser and they the day they delivered the product, they shorted us cases of pies. They ran out of one type of pie and said they would replace it with a different pie. Now we have angry customers that will probably never participate in our band's fundraisers. I hope we never use this unprofessional company again. read more

Local favorite! We were in town from Tennessee and had to stop by our favorite pie place. Actually went twice. Once to get pies for a party. They were very popular. Had to stop again on our way out of town. Bought 8 pies to take home. They freeze very well. Can't make a pecan pie for the price they charge. Super service. Always friendly and fast. Strawberry rhubarb is my favorite. read more

They have good pies but the people working the outlet store are rude. Getting smart with people because they're looking for something you may not have and not even offering another suggestion, but just being nasty read more

Delicious pies and extra delicious cheesecake. Was a little confusing how to get in but otherwise an awesome experience.

I strongly recommend this pie shop. You can't not make one for yourself as low cost as you can buy it. This pie shop can make 50,000 pies a day and ship around the world.. fresh, frozen,or cream pies read more

What are Americans' favorite pies? Apple takes, ah, the cake I believe, beyond that all pies are created equal unless it's a chocolate pie because that's my favorite late night pie hmmm that's unless it's a holiday then it could be pumpkin in the No. 2 spot, while cherry places third, unless my mom brought over a pecan pie of course. One of the most common questions asked after opening the refrigerator is "What kind of person eats the last piece of pie" - well I have to admit I am that kind of person and I've never had any regret or remorse, but I do counter that with what kind of person would leave the last piece of pie - in my opinion a single slice of pie should never be saved for later. Well if you live anywhere in the vicinity of a "pie factory" those are issues that you should never have to deal with. Ok first of all I don't know anyone who has ever told me "I grew up next door to a pie factory" that would just seem too unbelievable, after coming here now I know for a fact there are people who live next door to a pie factory and who are within walking distance to fresh pies 24/7, now wait a minute I understand the public can't access pies here around the clock but certainly if I lived next door I would know someone who works here and hopefully they could hook me up after hours if I had a pie emergency. Any description one conjures up here doesn't do this place justice, when I walked in the door I saw fresh baked pies everywhere and if it wasn't a pie it was something that has something to do with pies. The two young ladies working the retail store in front of this production facility must have been hand picked out of scores of applications because the customer service here is amazing, although I'd rather be shoveling pies in the back than dealing with the lines of people upfront especially when the last of their favorite pie is sold out just before they make it to the counter to place their order. I am sure it's possible for this place to run out of some types of pies but it's highly unlikely with that being said that the person would walk out without a different kind because everyone has a second favorite pie and probably a third and fourth favorite as well. I will tell you there is a lot of pressure to make a decision when it's your turn, so read the menu board ahead of time and be prepared. I started with an apple then added two strawberry / rhubarb and decided to get a cherry and since it is only a few miles from the office I figured I could come back if necessary. They also have creme pies, frozen pies, and even savory pies I'm sure they have something you will like as well, they may even have Boston Creme Pie although that's really cake isn't it.... read more

Wow! We bought all of our thanksgiving pies at Gardner's and they were amazing. We had cherry, apple, chocolate and pumpkin. So yummy. Fresh ingredients that make it seem like you made it and you didn't have to! A factory that caters commercially has an outlet store open to the public at their facility on Logan Parkway. A family company since 1945 all pies have a homemade quality that are just delicious. I had never been there but my dad recommended it. I'm glad he did. The line was long for those of us who did not pre-order and we were glad they did not run out of our favorites. And the prices were so reasonable, ranging from $5 to 6.50 depending on size. They also had brownies and other goodies as well. Can't wait to try the lemon, banana cream and coconut cream. I will be ordering early for Christmas. read more

I love pie, always have. I was the kid that never wanted cake at his birthday, just pie. I was traveling near Akron before the 4th of July, and found out about Gardner Pies. I showed up July 3rd in the afternoon. I believe the store is adjacent to the factory, who knows, I had tunnel vision - eyes on the pies. Pleasant staff, un assuming store, lil' wall of history on the side. So unfortunately, they had sold out of creme pies - totally understandable. There were plenty of other fruit pies, custard pies and brownies, etc. I'm old school - I got an apple pie, pumpkin pie, cherry cheesecake and a strawberry rhubarb pie. When you buy 4 pies you get to spin their Wheel of Fortune to win a prize. Prizes include free pies, apparel, coupons, etc. I won a coupon and got a tray of peanut butter brownies! So I spent $25 on the above, total. Awesome deal. These pies are apparently with some imperfections, which make them unsuitable to supply to wholesale clients. Despite that, the quality is exceedingly excellent. Obviously very fresh. The apple and pumpkin pies were simple, but near perfect. Delicious filling, and the kind of crust that is just flaky and moist enough. The strawberry cheesecake and peanut butter brownies were phenomenal. They were not overwhelming or too rich, dangerous. I was going to take the brownies into work and got selfish. Big ups to Gardner! I haven't eaten the rhubarb pie yet, I needed a break. I'll eat a pair of feet if it has rhubarb in it. If you're around Akron in need of pie, Gardner. Do it. read more

The best mass produced homemade pies you will ever eat! The selection varies on a day to day basis but is always vast (as long as you get there early enough before they run out)! The price for a pie is very reasonable and sometimes they have awesome specials like pumpkin pie for $2!! One of the best pies I've ever tried from here was the chipotle cherry lime. I'm not a fan of cherry pie at all but this combination was wonderful and I almost ate the whole thing by myself! They have fruit pies, cream pies, sugar-free, such a great selection! I wish they had gluten free pies or even vegan pies but that's not a deal breaker, just a wish. read more

Ordered Christmas pies from here for the first time based on everyone's facebook recommendations on how great they are, I got the apple brown betty and the peanut butter cream. My mom and dad got the very berry, and banana cream. The cream pies are to die for, SO GOOD. My apple pie was perfectly proportioned, apples were sliced thin and even not in big chunks which i like. The pickup line was out the door for the pickups, but i was in and out in less than 15 minutes, even had a nice young kid carry my box of pies to the car for me. Will definitely order next year! read more

We bought 3 pies for Christmas and threw every one away! Evidently someone used more salt than sugar and they were not edible. Waste of time and money. read more

Was leary of mass produced pie, but oh, it was soooo good! Do not hesitate to pick up a few. Extremely fair price too!

We have been getting pies here for years. They never disappoint. I'm pretty picky when it comes to crusts, theirs is some of the best.

Went here last July (of 2018) to get a few pies for a friend who loves pies and it was his birthday. Had heard great things about this place. Got an apple pie and strawberry rhubarb pie. Both were great, especially the apple! Very good price and very good pie! read more

After taking pumpkin and cherry pies from Gardner to my grandmother's for Thanksgiving she asked me if I wouldn't mind leaving the remainder of the cherry pie for her. Huge compliment to Gardner from a woman who always made her own pies and very picky. She loved them! read more

Was given a Blueberry Sugar-free pie...There was no list of ingredients and I was a bit concerned about what was used, if anything, when the sugar was eliminated. HOWEVER, I had to have a piece and it was so DELICIOUS! The blueberries were so plump and tasty and that crust - OMG!! So moist and flaky. Great menu on-line and conveniently near my home location. read more

Why is it people who even live in Akron haven't discovered this hidden gem in their midst? Located in an industrial building just a hop, skip and a jump from I-77 is the most glorious confectioners in Ohio (IMO). Gardner makes pies for resale and food service, but offer a walk up counter to the public! Fruit filled, cream topped, custards, and savory veggie pies are always on the menu! Availability varies daily, but their specials can't be beat! Where else can you get a freshly baked 10" cherry pie for $3.50??? The quality is top notch and their crusts are crisp and flaky. They also offer sugar free and other dessert options. Go early for the best selection. Or do like I do and get all your friends together and place an order (20 pie min.) for pick up! Counter staff is crazy helpful and friendly, too. Just go. You WILL thank me later. read more

Their apple crumb was to die for, and a very reasonable price. No comparison to anything you can get at Giant Eagle, or even Hartville Kitchen. Super; I'll be back. 12/6/2013 Went back today to grab a couple pies for the office. 10" apple and pecan pies, each $3.50. Can't beat that. They have lots of pies for 3.50, 3 and even $2. Get out of your chair and go get some now! And hurry, they close at 4 on weekdays (saturdays 8-12). read more

Great place to get an inexpensive dessert whether it be a pie or brownies. They even do savory pies like potato and pea. (Just don't get in line behind a restaurant owner who buys dozens of pies. No way of predicting when that happens.) Your best bet is to call ahead and reserve something you really have your heart set on. Also be prepared to stand in a long line the day before thanksgiving or Christmas. Quality varies as these are products that didn't make the quality control cut. Overall very good. read more

This is an outlet store attached to the factory. They sell damaged or imperfect pies at reduced prices. They are just as good and honestly you can never tell the difference. Just be weary that when they are out they are out for that day. read more

For years we lived in Stow and enjoyed Osman's Pies but alas when they went out of business my family was without our favorite coconut cream pie. We had given up hope of finding a suitable replacement but then we discovered Gardner's!!!! We were pleasantly informed that the pie we wanted was coconut meringue not cream as that had a dairy topping. We are pie-less no longer! The prices were most reasonable and the counter sales people were very helpful. read more

There is no other pie like a Gardner Pie! I have grown up on these succulent pies...cream pies, fruit pies, specialty pies like the chocolate chip pecan pie... you name it, I've probably eaten it! Since the early 1950's, my family has relied on Gardner to accompany us to family gatherings, company picnics, holiday celebrations, weddings, graduations and funerals. My personal favorite was the Pineapple Chiffon pie, but sadly, I don't think Gardner makes that one anymore. But they do still make my next-favorite....the Chocolate Cream Pie! My Uncle and cousin worked at Gardner Pie for decades; we always had two or three pies in the kitchen of most varieties they made. I have lived all across the United States since the 1960's and have had the opportunity to taste-test other pies...from Gordon Ramsey's famous Apple Pie to you name it.....and my conclusion is nothing, I say NOTHING, compares to a Gardner Pie! I can spot one in a pie safe anywhere they are served. Thank you Gardner Pie Company for continuing your quest for excellence in the pie industry. As Tom Gardner says, there is no substitute for quality. Your company has stood the test of time and you are a Winner! read more

Great no sugar pies at a great price. Call ahead to be sure the outlet has the type pie you want. It varies from day to day

Wow! Got strawberry rhubarb and pineapple upside down pies.... For less than ten dollars for the two! Excellent flavor and crust.

A number a years ago, maybe 20, when I was working at B&W in Barberton, they told me about Gardner Pie, which, at that time, was in Barberton. The "Store" for us was just a small walk-in selling the extra pies that they had baked the night before. Today, the store off Main Street is a bigger operation, but still has the friendly atmosphere of your local pie store. Think of it: we have our very own super pie store in our backyard. Serendipity. read more
