Gardner pies are delicious and there are so many great flavors. We got there around 2 pm and they had already sold out of a lot of their fresh pies. They had a lot of frozen options, but we decided to go with what they had left - cinnamon pumpkin, pineapple, and one peach crumb. Used them as a fundraiser and they the day they delivered the product, they shorted us cases of pies. They ran out of one type of pie and said they would replace it with a different pie. Local favorite! We were in town from Tennessee and had to stop by our favorite pie place. Actually went twice. Once to get pies for a party. They were very popular. Had to stop again on our way out of town. Bought 8 pies to take home. They freeze very well. Can't make a pecan pie for the price they charge. Super service. Always friendly and fast. Apple takes, ah, the cake I believe, beyond that all pies are created equal unless it's a chocolate pie because that's my favorite late night pie hmmm that's unless it's a holiday then it could be pumpkin in the No. 2 spot, while cherry places third, unless my mom brought over a pecan pie of course. One of the most common questions asked after opening the refrigerator is "What kind of person eats the last piece of pie" - well I have to admit I am that kind of person and I've never had any regret or remorse, but I do counter that with what kind of person would leave the last piece of pie - in my opinion a single slice of pie should never be saved for later. Well if you live anywhere in the vicinity of a "pie factory" those are issues that you should never have to deal with. Ok first of all I don't know anyone who has ever told me "I grew up next door to a pie factory" that would just seem too unbelievable, after coming here now I know for a fact there are people who live next door to a pie factory and who are within walking distance to fresh pies 24/7, now wait a minute I understand the public can't access pies here around the clock but certainly if I lived next door I would know someone who works here and hopefully they could hook me up after hours if I had a pie emergency. Any description one conjures up here doesn't do this place justice, when I walked in the door I saw fresh baked pies everywhere and if it wasn't a pie it was something that has something to do with pies. The two young ladies working the retail store in front of this production facility must have been hand picked out of scores of applications because the customer service here is amazing, although I'd rather be shoveling pies in the back than dealing with the lines of people upfront especially when the last of their favorite pie is sold out just before they make it to the counter to place their order. I am sure it's possible for this place to run out of some types of pies but it's highly unlikely with that being said that the person would walk out without a different kind because everyone has a second favorite pie and probably a third and fourth favorite as well. I will tell you there is a lot of pressure to make a decision when it's your turn, so read the menu board ahead of time and be prepared. Ordered Christmas pies from here for the first time based on everyone's facebook recommendations on how great they are, I got the apple brown betty and the peanut butter cream. My mom and dad got the very berry, and banana cream. The cream pies are to die for, SO GOOD. My apple pie was perfectly proportioned, apples were sliced thin and even not in big chunks which i like. The pickup line was out the door for the pickups, but i was in and out in less than 15 minutes, even had a nice young kid carry my box of pies to the car for me. Wow! We bought all of our thanksgiving pies at Gardner's and they were amazing. We had cherry, apple, chocolate and pumpkin. So yummy. Fresh ingredients that make it seem like you made it and you didn't have to! A factory that caters commercially has an outlet store open to the public at their facility on Logan Parkway. A family company since 1945 all pies have a homemade quality that are just delicious. I had never been there but my dad recommended it. I'm glad he did. The line was long for those of us who did not pre-order and we were glad they did not run out of our favorites. And the prices were so reasonable, ranging from $5 to 6.50 depending on size. They also had brownies and other goodies as well. Can't wait to try the lemon, banana cream and coconut cream. I will be ordering early for Christmas. read more

I showed up July 3rd in the afternoon. I believe the store is adjacent to the factory, who knows, I had tunnel vision - eyes on the pies. Pleasant staff, un assuming store, lil' wall of history on the side. So unfortunately, they had sold out of creme pies - totally understandable. There were plenty of other fruit pies, custard pies and brownies, etc. I'm old school - I got an apple pie, pumpkin pie, cherry cheesecake and a strawberry rhubarb pie. When you buy 4 pies you get to spin their Wheel of Fortune to win a prize. Prizes include free pies, apparel, coupons, etc. I won a coupon and got a tray of peanut butter brownies! So I spent $25 on the above, total. Awesome deal. These pies are apparently with some imperfections, which make them unsuitable to supply to wholesale clients. Despite that, the quality is exceedingly excellent. Obviously very fresh. The apple and pumpkin pies were simple, but near perfect. Delicious filling, and the kind of crust that is just flaky and moist enough. The strawberry cheesecake and peanut butter brownies were phenomenal. They were not overwhelming or too rich, dangerous. I was going to take the brownies into work and got selfish. Big ups to Gardner! I haven't eaten the rhubarb pie yet, I needed a break. I'll eat a pair of feet if it has rhubarb in it. The best mass produced homemade pies you will ever eat! The selection varies on a day to day basis but is always vast (as long as you get there early enough before they run out)! The price for a pie is very reasonable and sometimes they have awesome specials like pumpkin pie for $2!! One of the best pies I've ever tried from here was the chipotle cherry lime. I'm not a fan of cherry pie at all but this combination was wonderful and I almost ate the whole thing by myself! They have fruit pies, cream pies, sugar-free, such a great selection! Great place to get an inexpensive dessert whether it be a pie or brownies. They even do savory pies like potato and pea. (Just don't get in line behind a restaurant owner who buys dozens of pies. No way of predicting when that happens.) Your best bet is to call ahead and reserve something you really have your heart set on. For years we lived in Stow and enjoyed Osman's Pies but alas when they went out of business my family was without our favorite coconut cream pie. We had given up hope of finding a suitable replacement but then we discovered Gardner's!!!! There is no other pie like a Gardner Pie! I have grown up on these succulent pies...cream pies, fruit pies, specialty pies like the chocolate chip pecan pie... you name it, I've probably eaten it! Since the early 1950's, my family has relied on Gardner to accompany us to family gatherings, company picnics, holiday celebrations, weddings, graduations and funerals. My personal favorite was the Pineapple Chiffon pie, but sadly, I don't think Gardner makes that one anymore. But they do still make my next-favorite....the Chocolate Cream Pie! My Uncle and cousin worked at Gardner Pie for decades; we always had two or three pies in the kitchen of most varieties they made. I have lived all across the United States since the 1960's and have had the opportunity to taste-test other pies...from Gordon Ramsey's famous Apple Pie to you name it.....and my conclusion is nothing, I say NOTHING, compares to a Gardner Pie! A number a years ago, maybe 20, when I was working at B&W in Barberton, they told me about Gardner Pie, which, at that time, was in Barberton. The "Store" for us was just a small walk-in selling the extra pies that they had baked the night before. Today, the store off Main Street is a bigger operation, but still has the friendly atmosphere of your local pie store. Think of it: we have our very own super pie store in our backyard.
