Their cookies are delicious! You get a free cookie when you create an account with them, which is a nice bonus. Insomnia Cookies has a great variety of flavors, with both classic and deluxe options. I've been really enjoying the Oatmeal Raisin cookie. It's not overly sweet like some other cookie places, and the texture is soft and chewy. The only downside is that I feel the cookies are a bit pricey for their size. I also liked that the employee washed their hands before helping me. The service was quick, and I was in and out in no time!
Came in for a cookie today. The bakery is very small there's no seats to sit. Just order and go. They have ice cream and cookies! The cashier was helpful with helping me decide what cookie I would like best. I ended up getting the white chocolate macadamia cookies. He was right! It was soft and warm and oh so delicious! I would definitely come back for more cookies!
My daughter brought me home a cookie last week, so today we took a late evening drive from Fairfield to Davis. The young man who served us greeted us warmly and had a genuine welcoming personality.
So I was in Davis and was craving a cookie for some reason and there was Insomnia cookies. We went in and it was quiet in there. Two employees working. But nice enough. I was with my wife and my sister and we each had a different cookie. I got the macadamia white chocolate. Solid choice if I do say so myself. It was right between crunchy and chewy. I enjoyed the flavor. Wish it was slightly bigger in size but not bad either way.
Fantastic and friendly service. The crowds come and go and if you're lucky, you could be the first one in but then when you turn around, a line has formed. We are inside and that's what I observed. It's a tiny space but it wa clean. Love that they had a drink fridge divided up into "milks" on one side and a "not milks" on the other side. I've never heard of Insomnia Cookies but my son did. So he already knew what to get: an ice cream cookie sandwich. There are classic cookies to choose from but a few deluxe cookies and brownies that costs more and are larger in size. TOTALLY WORTH IT!! And also a variety of ice cream flavors. I was very happy to see that they had an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie with walnuts and no disgusting little raisins. Yay!! I ordered that and a chocolate peanut butter cup. These cookies were boxed warm. They were gooey and delicious with a fresh out of the oven goodness!! I died. I was very pleasantly surprised that their cookies were still good the next day. I was afraid they would taste as good at room temp, but they are still very good and fresh! Good on them for having 3 vegan cookie options and 1 gluten-free cookie. Also, thanks for having alternative milk choices. I love Oatly!
Got my regular, the oatmeal chocolate walnut deluxe cookie. It was easy to use my rewards points online, and service was instant when I arrived. Ignore the 20-minute wait time quoted on the app (unless you're getting a large order).... Insomnia almost always has cookies warm and ready. The place is small with just a couple tables and seats along the window. But I enjoyed my delicous treat to go. The perfect balance of chewy and crumbly, lots of yummy melted chocolate chunks, and an irresistible oatmeal flavor I just can't get enough of :D
Had a great experience at Insomnia Cookies in Davis! The cookies were fresh, warm, and delicious, and the customer service was even better. Adarius and Marcelino were both super friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They made sure everything was taken care of and made the whole experience enjoyable. You can tell they really care about their customers. Definitely one of the best experiences I've had here. I'll for sure be coming back!
One night, my husband and I were both craving something sweet, but the dessert shops by us was already closed. We remembered seeing Insomnia Cookie while driving through Davis once, so we decided to give them a try. The atmosphere in this establishment is pretty chill. The staff all seemed laid back while working. There are some spots by the window where you can stand and enjoy your treat. The service was ok. Staff knew the menu well. I just wasn't a fan of some of the profanity use around customers. The treats are good! We ordered both of our cookies with ice cream and they were divine. It satisfied our craving. Overall, not bad. The cookies paired very well with the ice cream. We may visit again whenever we are in the area.
This was my second time to an insomnia, cookies, and my first time to this location. It's in a great location in downtown Davis. Parking can be tough during the busy hours, but I just circled the block till I found something. I tried two of their cookies both were equally very good. When I go to a cookie place, I always try to have one cookie that I would normally not get. The young lady that was working was very helpful and kind and very much on top of her game. I would definitely recommend this for a sweet treat.
Insomnia Cookies is a wonderful place to come at night, or get cookies and ice cream delivered to my apartment at 1AM in the morning. While I've been to multiple locations, the Davis location is one of my favorite for its cute and quaint location, good customer service from fellow students working there, and its consistently chewy and warm cookies. I recently tried the Bewitched Cookie'Witch ice cream sandwich, which is a limited time edition ice cream sandwich currently promoting a Disney show. It was a smores-type ice cream sandwich that was not too sweet, had elements of crunchiness and crispiness in the "marshmallows," and was quicky finished on a Thursday afternoon after a long exam. Even when I am only visiting Downtown Davis, I enjoy grabbing a box of 6 to bring back home to friends and family.
Doordash doesn't say their location fulfils their own orders until after placing it so i actually don't know who the tip goes to for one, but i ordered it with details through doordash just for them to contact me again and again in a span of 15-20 minutes lost apparently right next to the apartment building asking me questions they had they should've had prior and come to find was written on the recipt. this order was a gift so i wasn't there yet my partner was sitting outside waiting just to finally be handed this...

Ordered Insomia Cookies for the first time while staying with a friend in Davis. The cookies arrived quickly, but unfortunately at the wrong apartment. After a quick run throughout the neighboring apartment complex we found our order at the right apt. number but wrong building. The cookies themselves were pretty yummy though. Still warm when we found them. I tried the irish potato cookie and it was surprisingly good, give the flavor a try if its still available! read more

I guess this is what happens when you place an order online to pick up in store. They give you a mangled cookie and try to hide it underneath another one so you don't notice. The bottom right is a chocolate chip, the mangled one is ALSO a chocolate chip. If I'm paying $3 per cookie, I would hope that they at least have similar quality and size?? How hard would it have been to just pick a better looking piece? Very poor quality control by deciding to place this cookie in my order. read more

*** Deluxe Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup *** $3.50, Grade A You can't walk down E Street without being hit with the smell of freshly baked cookies. It's the equivalent of the Cinnabon smell at every mall -- they get me almost every time. It ain't easy saying no to the dough and after my first of many visits to Insomnia Cookies, I'm happy to report the cookie taste equally matches the expectation of the cookie smell. So, the menu is simple. Traditional ($1.75) versus deluxe ($3.50). How much cookie are you craving is how you decide here. From my first experience, I say order the deluxe, eat half or more than half, and save the rest for later. It's a large and thick cookie -- not quite BJ's Pizookie size, but pretty close to your own personal Pizookie. Will I Go Back Test? Yes. I've already returned a few more times since my first visit and if my wife is downtown, she always texts me, "do you want a cookie?" She doesn't even need to say from where, Insomnia is a given. There are signs everywhere to remind you that the cookie is warm. They need to add "delicious" to their signage as well too. The thickness of the cookie itself helped balance the general sweetness of a Reese's peanut butter cup melted over the cookie top like a Salvador Dali picture. If you don't like borderline too sweet cookies, this might take your blood sugar levels to new heights, but check out my suggestion below to get you on board. Great to pull a piece off or just grab and sink your teeth into the whole thing. This cookie is really a treat. Suggestion: So, I loved and enjoyed the first half of the cookie walking the downtown grid. I purposely saved half to test my personal Pizookie theory. In essence, it's big enough for a lunch dessert and a dinner dessert. So, although the cookie was no longer warm, it was still super soft and tasted like it just cooled off the rack. Placed it on a plate with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and okay ... theory proven. I preferred it with the ice cream because it helped take the sweetness level down a few notches. Other Menu Items: They have ice cream available. Vanilla, chocolate, cookies and cream, cookie dough, rocky road, mint chip, coffee, and strawberry. I'm not sure where they get their ice cream from, but if you don't have any vanilla at home, order a scoop with your cookie. You won't be disappointed. If you just want ice cream without the cookie, order by medium, pint, or quart. Cookie flavors: Tradition size -- chocolate chunk, M&M, sugar, peanut butter, snickerdoodle, oatmeal raisin, double chocolate mint, white chocolate macadamia, double chocolate chunk, and chocolate chip brownie. Fall flavor ... caramel apple pie. Deluxe size -- triple chocolate chunk, chocolate peanut butter cup, and s'mores. Hours and Delivery: Warm cookies can be delivered, yes delivered, until 3AM. Bottom line: Warm cookie without having to turn on your oven. They are large and can be eaten by itself or with ice cream. This place is a winner and not only makes downtown taste better, but smell better too. read more
This is one of those little shops that you just have to stop in if you are wandering around Davis. I had the s'mores cookie this time it was warm chewy and just delicious. They have a variety of flavors and they deliver. Cool little place you have to check it out. Oh and they also have ice cream.. bonus!! read more
Insomnia Cookies is very similar to another ice-cream and cookie place in downtown Davis (ahem-CREAM-ahem). You get a selection of warm cookie variations, and if you want, you can add ice-cream to them to make an ice-cream sandwich. The place is open very late so if you're one of those all-nighter college kids... this might be a viable option for you if you crave the middle-of-the-night munchies. I came to Insomnia to give their cookies a try. I went for two deluxe cookies - the s'mores and the triple chocolate. In terms of taste, I'd say they were very tasty. They come to you nice and warm and the chocolate is gooey and messy. The taste is just as you'd expect... but nothing more than that. It's hard to mess up a warm cookie! I didn't get the ice-cream, but I think having some with the cookie would be great - I'd just feel like a fat pig afterwards. My biggest gripe about Insomnia Cookies is the price. You are paying quite a lot for cookies. The deluxe cookies I got were near $4 each! FOR TWO COOKIES it was almost eight bucks! YIKES! It was pretty off-putting having to pony up that amount - it definitely makes me think twice about going there to get anything. But I guess this place has has a monopoly on extremely late night cookies. If you really need some, then I guess this is it! read more

Had no idea an Insomnia Cookies was opening in Davis! I first heard of the chain when I visited my friend at Harvard and thought it was such an adorable shop, never thought it'd come to my alma mater. It's near impossible to resist when the aroma of freshly-baked cookies is wafting down the whole block :-') We popped in for a quick dessert after dinner! The shop was small but lively with the chatter of peppy employees. There were only 3 barstools available as seating-- it's definitely the type of place to just order and dip. CHOCOLATE MINT COOKIE & WHITE CHOCOLATE MACADAMIA COOKIE: Super soft and chewy! The chocolate chips were melting with every bite ^_^ While warming the cookies shortened the ice cream's longevity, the cookies themselves were so gooey & delicious that a touch of melted ice cream was a worthy sacrifice. ROCKY ROAD ICE CREAM: Mega average. I'd rather have a pint of Halo Top LOL. There's no question why their cookies are their namesake. A little expensive for two cookies and some ice cream ($6!!) but given that Davis' late-night food options are so limited, it's a nice little something-something (and arguably, better than CREAM). My Rating: 3.5-3.75/5 Stars I honestly have only been to Insomnia Cookies three times before. However, 3 times is definitely enough to make this review :) First of all, their cookies ARE pretty good, that's not in question. Very heavy handed in the butters/oils used BUT, what are ppl expecting?? No one eats cookies for health my guy! So if you're trying to be healthy, DEF do not frequent this place more than just occasions of rewarding yourself for being good. Haha Secondly...it smells SOOO freaking amazing in there!!! . Passing by it may pose some problems for some people lol My favorites are the White Chocolate Macadamia Cookie and the Snickerdoodle. The more chocolatey/fudgey ones are great too, but it's farrrr too sweet. The Brownie is also pretty decent. The ice cream sandwiches are also pretty good...the basic cookie shop ice cream sandwich...nothing special. Now...the problem is that, each cookie is nearly $3 each... SAY WHAT?? Like what my little nephew said to me after buying the 6 cookie pack for like $16... "You coulda just gotten 4 packs of cookies from Walmart uncle!" . Alas, my nephew is right...each cookie is just too expensive. That's the main reason why I gave them the rating I did. Now, is it worth it to you?? Maybe? But that's for YOU to decide. I wanted to use their app because I had a coupon for a free cookie. Was trying to get the cookie and a box of 6...Ordered from their app to deliver to my house. They charged me then the app said that there was no order. Money was deducted from my account. Called the store they said to call customer service. Customer service hung up on my 2x. They couldn't find my order and said to try calling the store again and ask for a manager. Called back the store spoke to a lead I guess? She said they couldn't help because they couldn't find my order and to dispute it with my bank. So now I need to call my bank to dispute a charge because they couldn't just make it right. Very disappointed because all I wanted was some cookies they didn't even offer for me to come in store next time and give me the box. Or told me to reorder lol. Why would I spend 50$ on 7 cookies! Horrible only go inside I guess if you really want them, or better yet go to crumble. They are nicer and sometimes give extra for free just because. Do not use the app might get scammed and they won't offer to help, they don't care about their customers. read more

Cookies delivered warm and yummy, but close to an hour late. Not sure why, but staff on the phone were kind when I called inquiring...and cookies arrived 15 min later. Definitely recommend if you want to send to someone at Davis, and glad they are there. read more

Came here on a whim after dinner on a Thursday night with hubby and another couple. I've heard about it but never have been to. I know they're more know. For their warm cookies, late night hours and delivery service. It was quiet when we walked In I got a deluxe s'mores cookie which was pretty epic warmed up cause the mash mellow was nice and gooey. Our couple friends was telling us how they haven't had the vegan/ gluten free cookie the last couple of times they were there. They finally had it this time around any they were super happy. The cookies look much bigger then creams cookies. Super friendly service will definitely have to be back here again another time to try out their other cookies and Ice cream. Don't forget to sign up for their loyalty points. read more

Insomnia Cookies is the best! I always make a stop whenever I'm in Davis. They serve fresh warm cookies that melt in your mouth upon first bite. Their best cookies in my opinion are their snickerdoodles and the white macadamia nuts. My friends and I usually share a box and when you bring home a pizza box full of cookies, you are the winner of the party! Since their cookies are ready and fresh, there's usually not a long wait and they serve you quickly. My friends and I shared a box of 6 cookies for $10. They also have ice cream and cookie cakes at this location too. I might ask for a cookie cake for my next birthday! read more

Came here after going out to the bars in Downtown Davis. I didn't even know this place opened until my friend brought it up, and I was determined to get a warm cookie to end the night. It's a pretty small shop; only a short, skinny table against the window. They've got an assortment of cookies and ice cream and you can choose just to have a cookie, an ice cream sandwich, or there's also an a la mode option, where it's just one cookie or brownie with ice cream on top. I got a double chocolate chip cookie, and it was pretty good! It wasn't as warm as I was hoping it would be, but the chocolate was still ooey and gooey and I was a happy camper. The cashier kind of forgot about my order (lol) but was quick to apologize and ended up giving me 2 cookies instead of one. Points for great customer service. The only thing is the price. For the regular cookies, it's $1.70 per cookie... a pretty steep price for an okay cookie. Like it was good, but not that much more exceptionally good than any other cookie I've ever had. PSA: there's a $3 minimum! I had to borrow money from my friends because I did not have enough cash. There was also no sign posted anywhere informing customers of the card minimum. This is something that should be added because I'm sure there will be plenty of people trying to buy only one cookie, but have to end up buying more just to meet that minimum. Keep your customers informed! Overall, it's a pretty good cookie but I don't think it's worth the steep price point. If you've never had it before, I'd definitely try it out! One time for the one time, am i right? read more

I've been hearing about insomnia cookies for a while now, and I'm upset that I haven't tried them before! They are pretty big (I couldn't even get through one in a sitting). Each cookie has a different consistency based on the flavors. The S'mores cookie has a crunch to it like you would expect if you were eating an actual s'more. The Chocolate Peanut Butter Deluxe is filled with peanut butter (it's quite heavy but still really balanced in terms of sweetness and amount of peanut butter). The Triple chocolate is one of my favorites. It has a LOT of chocolate, but it's a good take on an original chocolate chip. The Salted Caramel was good (It's a good balance of salty and sweet and very big) but compared to the others it probably ranked last. Either way you definitely can't go wrong! read more
