It was Bestie time and as always, we had to grab some Insomnia. As I didn't feel like fighting for parking, I decided to go to the Insomnia Cookies on Cleburne Ter as there was a better parking setup. As I arrived, I quickly found my parking spot and headed in. Walking in, I wasn't greeted by anyone as there was no one at the counter. The space was very clean and the smell of warm gooey cookies was in the air. After about a minute or so, the staffer who was in the back came up front and asked how she could help us... it was at this moment, I should have left. Her approach to "how can I help you" was as if we bothered her by walking into the store. Furthermore, her lack of vibrancy really shifted the happiness of the cookies and ice cream effect. Ugh! As We began to place our order, we asked for 3 Snickerdoodles and were advised "those are out, they have to go in the oven." No further information as to how long they may take, an offer to wait on them, nothing. Every other Insomnia I have been to, if a cookie is out and the store is not about to close they advise that it has to be placed in the oven, inform you how long it will take for them to bake, and ask if you would like to wait for them. But no... the level of service today stopped at telling us they had to be put in the oven and that was it. As I was already inside and wanted my Insomnia fix, I placed my order for 3 Oatmeal, and 3 White Chocolate Macadamia retrieved my cookies and departed. To my dismay, the displeasing, tactless level of service I received today has turned this into a detractor experience for me. I will not patronize this location again. I'll battle parking and risk getting a ticket before coming here again. As expensive as these cookies are, they should come with a side of service as a courtesy. Nonetheless, my cookies were AMAZING. Cool little pop-up shop! I had no idea they served ice cream, but they do--and they had a limited-time October flavor that I can't remember the name of for the life of me, but it was really good. I also grabbed a couple of cookies. Nothing mind-blowing, but definitely better than the competition (and yes, you know who I'm talking about). The shop itself is on the smaller side, but the crew behind the counter keeps things moving. They were blasting all the right jams while getting orders out quickly and efficiently. My daughter and I were in from Chicago and stopped at Insomnia for a treat. We love Crumbl Cookie by us and wanted to compare. Unfortunately for Crumbl there is no comparison! These cookies are so damn good. They were boxed for us fresh, nice and warm. They taste like homemade but so much better. My favorite was the chocolate chunk! The service was exceptional as well. The employee Keith was patient in my choosing and while I was deciding he was serving his community fresh cookies. He knew some of the patrons as they walked in and he knew their order already. Me personally, I don't think the 2 can be compared as I see 2 different lanes here, but any way, I saw they had gluten free on the online menu and placed my order. This location wasn't that hard to find. There is limited parking in front or you can park across the street. My order was said to be ready at 5:45pm but I checked in early and to my surprise, the order was ready about 5:15pm. Good thing I went in early. I was still able to eat a warm cookie. So today is Veterans Day and they have different conditions here for their 6 pack cookie deal. I recently moved into town and personally am a big fan of these late-night sinful cookie spots, so it was nice seeing there was one close by with very available parking! I have tried their chocolate chip, double chocolate chip, mint chocolate chip, and peanut butter cookies. My favorite was the double chocolate but im a fan of that rich chocolate fullness; if you're not, it's hard to beat the classic chocolate chip. They also have cookies that you can put ice cream on, but I ordered my cookies for pick up to take to a friends house, and was concerned that the ice cream would be a mess. Next time I'm making a shorter commute, I'll definitely try it! First time having Insomnia Cookies. I'd actually tried going once before but it was a weekend evening, and the line was lengthy and advancing at snail speeds. This attempt, I visited on a weekday afternoon and there was no queue. In fact, the employee was in the back and didn't notice me come in. There was no display of available cookies so I asked if any cookies were ready immediately; the nice employee replied in the affirmative. I then ordered two chocolate chunks, and she used a spatula to procure a duo from below the counter and place them in a paper bag. Each cookie was $2.25. I ended up eating the cookies hours later, and they were quite all right. Tender and filled with a very reasonable amount of semi-sweet chunks. If you're curious, each cookie was a little less than 2 oz. and around 3.5" in diameter. Maybe I'm a bit biased since I actually ate some homemade chocolate chip cookies recently that were incredible, and these weren't quite there. Sorry Insomnia. But I would be up (down?) for trying your other cookie options! Regarding parking, there are some street spots right in front of Insomnia and a lot too. I waited almost 2 hours for cookies. I could've watch two 45 minute anime shows waiting outside for snickerdoodle's to be uncooked, the chocolate chip cookie to be half its original size and given three free uncooked cookies . I first heard and tasted Insomnia Cookies when I lived in the Midwest. It's been about 10 years since I had their cookies so I was pleasantly surprised when I came across their store during my visit in Atlanta. Similar to their Midwest locations, this was a to-go type place to get a quick cookie and sugar fix. I got the chocolate chips cookie and the double chocolate mint chips cookie. Although the world has been in a crisis with this Covid 19, we found a little solace in a sweet way the other night when my sweetheart decided to surprise me and take me to a quaint little hidden cookie shop called Insomnia Cookies. The funny thing is, we've been to others in other states but wasn't aware that they had them here in Atlanta. Not sure if we just totally forgot about it or just overlooked it since we are still kind of new to Atlanta either way I love everything about this small cookie shop, from the concept to the employees, the cookie addicts, options and variety; preferably the VEGAN CHOCOLATE CHUNK cookies, which if you haven't noticed by the enlarged text .. happens to be my favorite! Which is a few of what we got on this night. First let me say the young lady that was working was incredibly nice and even let us know about the cool discounts they had going on for that particular week. Talk about going for the first time at the right time! The six pack that was originally $10 had dropped down to $7, talk about a win and although that was great, it made for us to be bad and really buy more cookies than we should have . Lol, you will see in the pics. I tried all the different flavors we bought but opted for the vegan ones, they ended up being my favorite. This is like all other locations. It's overpriced at $9+ for two cookies and two small scoops of ice cream. The food is okay. They're good cookies, but not at that price. The weird thing was the ordering system. I don't know if they only do this at night or all the time, but it wasn't great. It's difficult. You can't order at the counter even though there are workers standing there. You have to order via QR code, but when you get to the page it asks you to input a delivery address even if you're doing pick-up. You don't actually need to put anything in the address line if you're doing pickup, but it made all of us second guess if we were on the right page. The pick-up time settings were also odd. Some of us got our food immediately, but some of us got our food way after 30 minutes. 30 minutes is a longgg time. When I say "long," I mean people who came in after us and had big orders got their food and left and we were still waiting on two cookies. The signs that said you had to order via QR code were also small and near the counter, but there was a crowd of customers blocking them. So new people didn't know what they were supposed to do. They thought they were joining a line to order, but they were actually joining a group of people waiting who had already ordered. So every time a new customer would come up, they would look around uncertain and stand there awkwardly for a long time until another customer stepped in to explain what they were supposed to do. I was a fan of insomnia when I was in undergrad and it was cheap, but I'm not a fan of the way it is now. read more

This is my 2nd time coming here... terrible experience the first time around, but I gave it another chance because they had a limited edition "berries & cream" cookie. This is an amazing spot for some great cookies, especially because they are open late(1-3 am), and keep them fresh and warm. We have come here often to get a late-night sweet treat. If there are any deluxe cookies you're debating between... GET THE CHOCOLATE PB CUP!!! It was melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The cookie was 90% soft in the middle, 10% slightly crispy on the outside. 10/10 would order again. Be forewarned - deluxe cookies are a whopping $3.40 + tax.
