I bring my eye prescription to Insight to purchase my Oakley glasses. The staff at Insight is professional and courteous. Sam measured me for a new pair of sunglasses and reviewed the details of the order. I also asked Sam to adjust my reading glasses that were stepped on the dance floor. These titanium frames were tweaked good, but Sam had them straight with one adjustment. They were good but I asked for more. Thats when Danny Smith offered more assistance. Danny removed the lens, made an adjustment and restrung the lens to perfection. Sam and Danny restored my glasses to new after a trip to the dance floor. Oh, yea..no charge. I had my eyes examined by Dr. Singh and found him very customer friendly. He was very thorough and professional. Dr. Singh explained every test completely before he performed the test and asked if I had any questions before he proceeded. At the conclusion of all the various tests he went summarized the whole process and results. The next step was choosing the frames. The assistance I received was good. I recently moved to Aptos. My eyeglass lenses cracked, and I asked my former optometrist to mail me replacements. I took them to Insight to have the new lenses put in. I expected to pay for this service, but they did not charge me and even sent me home with two new microfiber eyeglass cleaners. My parents go there for their eye exams and to purchase glasses, and they have always had great things to say about the service they receive. We were vacationing from out of town during an extremely sunny and hot week. My sunglasses were bent out of shape and were not working for me. We stopped in to see if they could adjust my prescription glasses. We waited a little while because there were two customers ahead of us. After awhile we decided to leave and possibly come back later. As we were leaving the Doctor came outside and called us back. He adjusted my glasses at no charge and we were in and out in no time. I went to Insight for the first time about a month ago because they were so helpful a couple months ago when I lost my contacts and I didn't have an extra pair. It was a very good experience with only a couple of things that they could have done differently. I got a survey from them and it filled it out with some suggestions on how to make the next appointment perfect and they emailed me right away. I recently relocated to the area from Half Moon Bay, CA. The other night I managed to step on my reading glasses -- a lens popped out, and the frames were bent. I paid a visit to InSight expecting they would have to send the glasses away for repair, but the optician Danny cheerfully took the glasses and repaired them to new in minutes. Our whole family (husband, son, and myself) are delighted to be patients of Dr. Zee and her staff at Insight Eyecare in Capitola! The entire team at InSight Eyecare goes above and beyond to provide top quality eyecare and service. They are a very skilled and pleasant team to work with, the costs are very reasonable, and they are in our insurance network. We selected this eyecare group after searching the web and seeing the reviews online. There are three optometrists who work in the office, and we selected Dr. Zee. Seems all three of them are excellent. My husband went in first to have an eye exam and get new glasses. He was very impressed with the testing done by the staff with the newest equipment, thought Dr. Zee was very skilled and thoughtful, and that the glasses technician was meticulous in getting a great pair of glasses fitted for him. Our son had his eye appointment about a month later, and again had a wonderful experience and thinks his new transition glasses that turn a dark grey outside are "cool". I just had my appointment a few days ago. I have an eye condition that doctors have followed for some time. Dr. Zee was great in giving me information about the status of my eyes, did a fantastic job fine tuning my contact prescription ( I can see so much better with my new contacts and they allow more oxygen to get to my eyes), and I also decided to get a new pair of glasses (I wear them at night and other times). I loved my experience at InSight Eyecare! From the cheerful and helpful receptionist who starts your appointment, to Dr. Zee and her technician who do the tests and discuss results with you in a calm and non-hurried environment, to the excellent care in selecting frames and getting fitted for glasses and contacts, this team is the best! We've often felt rushed or had to wait for long periods at other eye doctor's offices. It's such a pleasure to have a great team who treats you so well, answers all your questions, and takes such great care of your eyes. And the costs of the exams, glasses and contacts are less than we've paid in the past and InSight is in our insurance network. We will be long-term patients of the InSight Eyecare team! Insight Eyecare Centers are NOT an in-network service provider and so their prices are far higher than network prices. I was told on the telephone and at the front desk my eye exam out of pocket costs were $0 because my VSP eye glass insurance was going to pay for it. As I was leaving, I was forced to pay $178.00, Insight Eyecare employees blamed VSP for providing wrong information about my coverage. It was a well orchestrated bait & switch run by the 4 store employees. Insight employees discounted the cost from $178.00 to $90.00 but it was still far from $0 that I was told to get them to allow the exam. I disputed the cost to my credit card company and provided proof that Insight Eyecare employees had told me no out-of-pocket expenses but Insight Eyecare employees knew the exact words to tell my credit card company to get them not to force a refund, Insight Eyecare employee said, they "provided the service I was charged for" even though I did not dispute the service but the cost of the service. As a long time customer at my bank and no history of ever disputing purchases earned me a refund from my credit card company but not from Insight Eyecare who are still running the bait & switch scam on unsuspecting customers. I contacted VSP insurance and the VSP employee said was she was going to call the center but there were consequences from VSP for running the bait & switch scam. I went to the Sears Eye center where the exam cost is $0 to purchase my new lenses and frames for $300.00 using the prescription I paid $90.00 for from Insight Eyecare. read more

I recently had the pleasure of patronizing this AMAZING establishment. While I wasn't very pleased with the diagnosis (I'm getting old so much more quickly than I'd like), I was EXCEPTIONALLY pleased with the care I received here. Dr. Kohn gave me an extremely thorough exam and then patiently and considerately answered my inordinate number of questions. All was handled with the utmost in professionalism. Natalie took the ball from there and also fielded my many questions with nothing less than complete and utter patience, professionalism, friendliness and sincerity. While I can't wait to get my new glasses, this day will be bittersweet, as my time with these wonderful people will then draw to a close for another year (unless I need fittings or repairs, which they will kindly and generously take care of for me). Wow, now that's what I call customer service and most excellent managing. I can be a pain in the ass when it comes to certain things. My eyes and the frames for glasses are two of them. Natalie, even being new at Insight was excellent in setting me up with the Oakley frames I wanted. Both indoor and outdoor. She knew what she was doing and read me like a book and understood what I wanted in frames and took care of it. I found out later, since she was in training, that she would not get any commission on the over eight hundred dollars I spent on frames and glasses and I do not think that's fair at all. But anyway, Natalie is going to do well there and anywhere else she goes. Now here comes the pain in the ass part. My Oakley prescription sunglasses had the polarized (my choice) whatever you call it, on them. Instantly I did not like this feature. I called Insight and told them my problem and by both mis-understanding one another, I got the impression that I was stuck with what I had. That was not going to work with me and I drove down to Insight ready to demand a full refund on the sunglasses. The manager, Elizabeth must have some excellent hearing because when I was explaining to some gentlemen about my problem, all of sudden she's there taking control of the matter, and I mean taking control! Elizabeth came over to me and started to explain to me what could and could not be done in such a professional, understanding and caring way. Long story short, Elizabeth took care of me and at the end I received my Oakley prescription sunglasses without the polarization and they feel great and I can see and am very happy. Bottom line, Elizabeth is one hell of a manager and excellent with people. She's a take control young lady and could walk into major corporations and take over. Simple as that, she's got the skills and managing talent that is needed out there. And thank you to Jessica for being so patient with my numerous phone calls. Now Justin on the other hand...well, let's not go there. This is a nice review, not a bad one. But he sure could use some of Jessica's phone conversation skills! I had my first ever eye exam (mid-40's), and was very very impressed. Super friendly staff and everyone was very thorough. From Jessica doing my pre-exam testing, to Dr Kohn who really explained what he was doing, what he was testing and why. I thought I had perfect vision, I was wrong. While not bad, I do now need glasses for working on the computer/reading and was amazed at how much more clear my vision is going to be when I get my new glasses. The final piece to the amazing customer service was Optician Natalie. She was very patient with me. It is not easy for me to pick out these types of things and her experience really showed. Knowing which type of frames would look good on my face shape, explaining the differences between the types of frames and the types of lens and lens coating offerings. I had no idea so much went into getting glasses. While I am now much more informed, I am no expert and will be forever relying on the EXPERTS at Insight Eye Care to take care of me from now on.
