Time for more glasses, yeah I went back. Friendly staff but still had to wait a while because there was only one employee dealing with multiple customers plus having to answer the phone. One of the machines was broken so had to return in a week for retina pic. She offered to text me when glasses were ready. I informed her that I don't receive texts, and gave her my email plus landline. Excellent customer service from start to finish. Dr Batt was wonderful and very professional. The entire staff made it very pleasant and I was never waiting for service. I bought two pairs of glasses, and was told in10-14 days I would get a text to pick them up. 5 days after my appointment, my glasses arrived, and they're perfect. It's really great when people with whom you do business recognize you, remember your name and treat you so very professionally. Absolutely do NOT purchase eyeglasses from these folks. I bought a pair of glasses and frames there and while the lenses are great, the frames are a piece of shit, which is surprising, considering they are Ray Bans. It's a metal frame and has moveable pieces for the bridge. After about seven months I started having trouble with them always being out of adjustment. Eventually one bridge piece came off the frame and when I went in to have it replaced, they didn't have any spare parts. To make matters worse, a lady who helped me said the frames are problematic and wouldn't have sold them to me. Then, just a few days after the "repair" the bridge came off and was lost. I went back to LensCrafters and asked what they could do to help. They still didn't have the proper parts but found something that would work. This was right before I was leaving on a seven week trip to Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Within two weeks of travel again the bridge came off. I was able to find it and put it back on the frame. At this point I started using my old glasses, which I brought as backup, as my main pair and my new glasses as the backup. A few days ago I decided to try the new glasses, hoping against hope that they would hold up. But, tonight, while washing the lenses, the bridge came off and I watched it go down the drain...a fine a Christmas present. I'm still in New Zealand and pissed! When I return, I hope they do the right thing and replace the defective frame. If not, there are plenty of independent opticians! read more

Associate submitted FLASE insurance Claim and tried to OVERCHARGE me!! Went into this location on 7/16. Got the same Versace frames I had had prior but broke.We were getting ready to pay and she pulled up my insurance and the Lense Crafters calculator was not calculating my total correct. She was trying to overcharge me. It was not showing all my benefits on the calculator. She brought up my insurance benefits and they indeed show the correct amount. She said it was my insurances fault and if they altered it I could still be liable. So I said I'd come back tomorrow and call my insurance in the morning. I called my insurance and eyemed and both confirmed it was lense crafters systems fault not them. So I went to a different location, and they said she had used my benefits! She made a FALSE claim to my insurance and said I had paid for the glasses and revived them!! When I went in the next day becuase of this I was unable to use my benefits! Took 2 days to clear it up. Manager could not explain why she submitted a false claim. I was extremely upset because she lied and I was unable to use my insurance the next day. I've bought these frames with and without insurance so I don't mind paying for them but I do mind people making FLASE claims on my behalf. read more

Very bad service by Cinthya (see picture). She does not even acknowledge customers when they walk in, then rudely asks what you need and does a half a** job at helping you. There's a very nice Hispanic lady there who goes above and beyond to help you and make you feel comfortable, she knows a lot about glasses too. read more

UPDATE!!! Autumn the store manager has made things right. She had me come in and have a do over appointment with one of their better Doctors. I was definitely taken care of and things adjusted so that I felt like I was listened too. I mentioned to everyone that i lost my glasses. The Eye doctor never closed the door to the exam room. So everyone walking by could hear my health history being discussed. She left the light on the entire time. Ive never experienced that, normally they turn the lights off. The doctor slammed the eye tester on my face it scratched in between my eyes. After that, i tried to go ahead with the glasses I picked out earlier. I was told bye have a great day!! Uhm.. i was also here for glasses. She told me she was too busy and that the other girl would take over. Well that other girl completely avoided me, got on the phone immediately so she didn't have to talk to me. I stood there waiting, and she then took another customer before me. I finally got sick of it, walked behind the desk, grabbed the frames, took pictures, and then put them back on the shelf. We had an optical emergency yesterday. It was July 2nd 2017. A friend had flown in from Michigan to visit with us for 10 days. Having never seen the Pacific Ocean that was one of the first things he wanted to see. Alas the first thing he did was lose his prescription glasses in the surf. Bummer. That was 8 p.m. 10 a.m. this morning the 3rd of July I start calling everyone in the optical business in Santa Cruz County. Only LensCrafters was open and could possibly make the glasses the same day. We got an appointment for 10:45 for an eye exam. Fast forward to 3 p.m. and the complicated prescription was finished and done. Insurance was billed,co-pay was made, and we were out the door with our friends holiday saved. Poor guy is blind as a bat without his glasses. If it had not been for Peter ( a tireless and patient man ) our friend would have flown out to see California and not ended up seeing anything at all. If there were a negative star option, I would use it. NEVER enough help, and I just spent 40 minutes waiting to pick my glasses which had to have new lenses put in to have somebody go ahead of me and the lady knew that I was in line 1st. She even said"sit down and wait"! I've already wasted half the day here trying to get a simple thing done. This is not my first problem with them I spent approximately $550 less year on glasses which I've had to have the frames replaced and the lenses replaced twice. Corporate is no help. Only " leave your message or go online and fill something out. "The place is a hot mess, customer service is foreign to them. They can't even make eye contact . Even heard the lady who told me "I'll be right with you" whisper under her breath "oh my God "!when she saw four people in there waiting for help. Tried for convenience, since they are in the mall. GREAT VISIT. I dont have insurance, so price was important. After reading certain reviews I thought the service may be worse then I wanted but it was great. I made an appointment for the next day. Had an eye exam that made my vision the best its been I think. Great selection of frames and I found some I liked a lot at a decent price. They had a AAA discount, making the price right for me. And amazingly.. they said I got lucky... but my glasses came in finished in only a few days... not the week or 10 days I expected. read more

I was shocked to read ANY negative reviews of this place. I have been coming here for two years now and I have consistently had steller service. My husband gets his contacts here and I have gotten a pair of glasses and sun glasses here. I've had two eye exams and an emergency procedure where Dr. O had to remove a bugs wing out of my eye which is much more painful than it sounds. He was kind, calm and talked me through the entire process. On both eye exams Dorothy & Peter were fun yet extremely professional. I find the staff here hard working and dedicated. Evelyn is a manager that rises above the call of duty when it comes to customer service. I had an issue with my Ray Ban sunglasses which she solved immediately. Martin & staff stayed on top of my order to make sure I received my glasses in time for a month long trip. In short I wouldn't trust anyone else but this staff with my eyes and I highly recommend them! read more

Wow! Believe it or not, I had a great experience at a chain place. Didn't think it would be, but they proved me wrong. I came in yesterday for the first time to have my eyes examined. I had to wait some, with an appt, but I wasn't in any hurry for anything. No big deal for me. I was probably there for 1 & 1/2 hrs. Customer service was great too. Peter and Dr. David Oebker were great and very knowledgeable. Dr Oebker has been in the business for, I believe, 30+ years, which goes to show you he knows what he is doing. I had all the tests done, even the one where they dilated your eyes and you have to look into a machine and wait for the flash green light to flash your eye. This tells you if you have any eye diseases or any other health problems. A ok here, nothing wrong. Yay! Dr showed me how they exam the inside of the eye and how they look for other health problems, Kind of cool, The only thing, b/c of my eyes dilated, unfortunately, I had to drive to a few more errands, got a massive headache for the rest of the day. Yikes. But its a common thing, supposedly. The price so very reasonable compared to other Optometrists in the area. Most exams were $130- $170. Here with everything was $103 with the last eye test, if you don't need that test, it's only $79. Glasses- they had a big selection, but they didn't have a lot of Big nerdy glasses that has become popular again ,which I am looking for. But I have a place that i am looking into for that. I REALLY HATE IT WHEN A BUSINESS LIES TO ME. Filled a prescription for my computer glasses last July and the optoitrist told me at that time that between my eye surgeries they would at no charge change my glasses (one side) to a clear lens, this was confirmed by a sales person. Called earlier this week to confirm this and was told yes they did this and today when I went in to have this service they told me I would have to purchase new lenses for the glasses with a prescription in the right eye and clear on the left eye for each pair of glasses; they denied that they had ever said anything else. My boyfriend was in this week and I came in today. He needed an exam for contacts and I needed new glasses. Both visits this week went great. I saw Dr. David Oebker. He was so nice. He took his time and made me feel very comfortable. He explained everything and answered all of my questions. They were busy today but did not make me feel rushed at all. I picked out my frames came back in an hour and they were perfect. I just have to get used to the new frames. Once again I have to give a shout out to Kelsey (who I seek out whenever I come in) as always she's the best! One thing I love besides the fact that they are all so nice is they have a 90 day policy of love em or bring em back and they will make it right. How can you go wrong? If you need glasses or contacts get in to see them, they will treat you right. read more

I do not agree with the policiees they hold involving ordering contacts after the one year mark is over on your perscription. In this economy how can be expected to pay 100.00 plus dollars every year to renew the perscription on glasses and contacts when we can barely afford the contacts and the glases themselves? I am being forced to wear my glasses now as I can not get anymore contacts. When I went in, I told the doctor that I was concerned on the price of the contacts and he assured me they would not be too expensive. Little did I know that when I went to make my orde they were over 60.00 a box. I know good sight is expensive but they should make it available for lower income single people. read more

Fantastic service!!!!!!!!!!!.........! Found out my son needed glasses.....made an appointment ......had custom fitted glasses the next day. This was the first time my son had worn glasses, so we had a fair amount of questions. The staff made us feel very comfortable. Fast Forward. ...... two months......... My son decided he wanted to try contact lenses. ....so back to lens crafters. For a first time contact lens user the process of putting the lenses in can be tricky, (your eye naturally wants to shut when you try to put something in it). My son was disappointed he was unable to put the lenses in on the first try. The staff gave us a tip to practice for the next week.....The tip work so well on our next appointment, (1 week later), my son was flawlessly able to put the lenses in on the 2nd attempt.... My son is now enjoying the freedom of contact lenses. As an active kid, , (baseball etc.). Keep up the the great work!!!! read more

Came to lens crafters because my insurance plan started covering vision...yeah!!! I had not had a proper eye exam or proper RX glasses in over 10, maybe even 15 years...readers were no longer cutting it... The service I got from lens crafters was outstanding! The Dr. I saw and his assistant were both very professional and helpful and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand! After my exam I picked out some glasses from the large selection of choices they have in stock...because I got the anti glare and anti scratch lenses, I had to wait ten days for my glasses to come in...how ever, I got a text message that they arrived a bit earlier than expected...I went to pick them up and the employee custom fit them to my face making sure they were well shaped and not too loose or too tight...I went back a few days later for some minor adjustments and that went well too! The prices were very fair, and they did all the claim work with my insurance provider and that made the whole process supper easy! I am supper happy with my new glasses and the customer service I got from Lens Crafters! I will be going back there again when its time for my next pair of glasses or eye exam! read more

When I went in for my eye exam all was good but I just went in to get a glasses adjustment and there where two lady's in there both helping other guests and told me it would be a little wait. So I waited then, Cynthia (like previous poster Joe said) made me feel dumb as she said my glasses where fine and just talked to me rudely and made me feel so dumb. I left and came back and there where even more people in there with my glasses untouched on the table where she left them. I just grabbed them and walked out, as she didn't acknowledge me when I re-entered the store and the other lady was in a store across the way shopping. read more

I was leaving for Europe and was told that the glasses would be done in time. They were done -- but totally WRONG! It felt like I was blind looking through the lenses. So, I had to wait another THREE WEEKS to get the re-made glasses. I knew where the woman (Hispanic, nasty woman) who was not polite or helpful, had originally placed the glasses the first time I went in to get them. I told the other woman there who was only about 7 feet from the cabinet they were in. I had already waited until I had gotten back and the nasty lady (I wish I had gotten her name, but you'd know her - she is NOT nice) told the OTHER woman I was speaking to that she should NOT get my glasses but to instead take a NEW customer. I was furious! I told the woman that she had to just walk to the cabinet, open the top drawer and hand me my glasses. I think she felt intimidated (although I am not intimidating in person as I am a midget), and she deferred and DID go over and open the drawer and took out my glasses and handed them to me. THEN she took the client who was going to be there about an hour for an exam and choosing glasses! But she was told by "Nasty" that she should ignore me and take on this long time-taking client first. I was so furious. The SECOND time the glasses were made, they worked. The first time (before I left and really needed them) I could not even SEE through them!! Totally done wrong! Never, never go there. They are cheaper, but the quality of workers there is very, very low. They must not pay much. But that one woman was so nasty, and when I walked by another time, she was still there. I guess LensCrafters doesn't care. It was a HORRIBLE experience. I went blind to Europe but I had to go there, so I had no choice. It was awful. My biggest compliant is that I called and made an appointment for the basic eye exam for around $65, the bill was over $100 for the main reason that they asked if I wanted this or that service, but never mentioned the extra cost. Then their strange energy when you don't buy the glasses from LensCrafters. The cooperation that owns LensCrafters also owns all the rest of the optical stores except costco optical and wallmart optical. I now only go to Costco Optical The Dr, is cool at the Capitola Mall LensCrafters, but the staff has shifty negative energy, on top of asking personal questions. read more

I had never been here before but came in to see about ordering replacement prescriptions lenses for my glasses as a back up pair. I had my prescription in hand so I only needed a price and to order. Upon entering the store, there were several customers being helped at the seating areas. I walked to the back counter, unsure of how to put my name on a list, or what the process was for waiting to be helped. The woman was rude, treated me as if I was expected to know who was next (there was no line or number to take) I asked if there was a list, she said no, they kinda of know who was next. I asked where I should stand to wait, and she was again, rude and unfriendly. I smiled and waited patiently about 10-15 minutes until I was approached by Cory. His name tag said Store Manager. He was very pleasant and helpful. He helped me with my choices, gave me a few options to weigh the best value, offered me a discount I didn't even know my eye insurance provided (I was paying out of pocket for my second pair). I haven't yet picked up my glasses but so far I'm very happy I didn't let the rude woman run me out of the store. Cory was excellent! I would give him a 5 star, so I deducted a star for her attitude. So if you meet her, hang in there and wait for Cory to assist you. As he helped me, all the other customers cleared out and I noticed the 4 women working there sitting in the back together just complaining. I don't get the impression they like their jobs. read more
