Saw their production of "Fiddler on the Roof" in Sunrise. Stupendous. I hope to see more of their work!

Parking is free in the garage before 5 PM. The building was constructed in 1926 as a Methodist church. During the Hurricane of 1928, the church basement was used to shelter people. By the 1980's, downtown West Palm Beach was rundown and associated with poverty and drug use. In 1996 in an effort to make the area more business and tourist friendly, the 55 acres surrounding the theater was demolished. Mayor Nancy Graham offered developers the opportunity to redesign the square as long as they preserved this building. The church underwent a six million dollar restoration by REG Architects turning into a multipurpose performance hall with shops on the first floor. It anchored City Place which is now called The Square. The 850-seat, 11,000-square-foot theater opened in 2000 and it was used for arts performances, receptions, community meetings and other events. The theater was named in honor of patron of the arts, Harriet Himmel who donated three million dollars in exchange for naming rights. Today the building is once again a church. Christ Fellowship Church holds Sunday services at 9:30 AM and 11 AM. This beautiful building stands majestically as the backdrop for The Squares many restaurants, shops, and public art pieces. I hadn't been to The Square since it was City Place and I was impressed with how great everything looked. Saving and rehabilitating this building really paid off in adding history and majestic architectural interest to The Square,

I've seen Rupaul's Drag Race tour here, I've seen a celebration of Japanese Taiko drums here, and recently saw the Michelle Buteau comedy show in this venue. It's a classic theater when you walk in. Beautiful artwork, architecture, everything is well maintained. We got a soda and snacks for under $20 which was nice they aren't price gauging concessions, reasonably priced. Free parking outside, but important to come early (doors open 1 hour before showtime) because since it's an old school theater the rows are long so a lot of scooching to your seat is involved and if you come late, you're scooching in the dark when the performance has already started. Beautiful venue!

At the entrance, there is also a bar offering drinks--somewhat on the pricey side--as well as snacks. Once inside the auditorium, the atmosphere shifts to a more classic aesthetic, highlighted by beautiful ceiling ornamentation that adds character and charm to the space. The theater itself is relatively small to medium in size, making it well suited for plays and more intimate performances. Now that I've discovered this venue, I'll certainly be keeping an eye on their upcoming shows.

I learned so much in every single class I took. In university at USF I took a semester of ballet and the teacher complimented my technique as being the best one in the class, all thanks to the wonderful education I received at academy of arts. Now in 2025 my 3 year old daughter is taking classes and is enjoying every class. My mother, daughter and I recently went to the Christmas show and we were so proud to experience the show. It was such a great show, still professional and beautiful. 13 years later and Academy of Arts is still producing wonderful dancers. I highly recommend this studio to all dancers and artists who are eager to learn and perfect their craft.

I also look forward to their professionally-mounted recitals every year.

Crystal show is their first concept on ice with blend of acrobats, circus acts and ice skating. This show is being performed in BB&T Center until July 29th. Go check out their website to see when it's coming to your city. I love all CDS shows, but this one stood out for me because of multiple reasons::: 1. Costumes 2. Music 3. Performers The costumes were just amazing with some different acts, one was in all beautiful pastel colors, another suits/work clothes costume was my favorite with typewriter machines around their necks. My favorite part of the show was the performance on the chandelier song. Plus their live music throughout the show was phenomenally done. All the performers were very talented but also they picked out the best people in the ice skating world with champion performers from Canada/America. Cirque Du Soleil comes up with the best ideas/concept. Can't wait to see what type of show they bring next time. I was lucky to win tickets from Yelp (thank you Blue/ Yelp Fort Lauderdale). This was the highlight of my summer, due to no traveling and just working.~

Plays of Wilton makes its home at The Foundry, a 54 seat black box theater that is wheelchair accessible. Since there are only 4 rows of seats and the theater is small and intimate, almost any seat in the main section is a good seat. The seats are next to each other, so people sit tightly in this small venue. There are some side seats sometimes, but I do not recommend, since the angle of vision to the stage is not the best. Out of all the seats in the main area, I find seat B7 to be the best. There's a pole next to it and an aisle on the other side, so this is the one seat that is almost "private". The plays are mostly LGBTQ+ themed and based. The one I went to see called 10 Naked Men was not all nude. Actors stayed clothed most of the time, but the title sure got people excited about the show....LOL.... Hunter's the nightclub was kind enough to donate red and white wine as well as water for the show, so these beverages were complementary throughout the play. There is limited parking in front and behind theater with some handicapped parking spaces. The theater opens one half hour prior to performance times. Performances are usually Wednesday through Sunday. Evening performances at 8 PM and matinees at 2 or 3 PM. As of 2024, the performances are usually : $35 General Reserved Seating $50 Premium 1st Row Seating $25 Side seating, when available

You can read about its history on one of the plaques just inside the entrance (see photo). We'd walked by a couple weeks ago and Roy bought us tickets. You can also do so online, but we wanted to see the layout of the seats. Turns out we were in great ones only 7 rows back and on the aisle. But the playhouse is small enough -- with no obstructing poles -- that almost any seat would offer a good view of the stage. Plus the acoustics were very good, too. For the evening shows, they open the doors at 7 pm for seating for the 7:30 show. They have a small snack bar (cash) in the lobby. We saw "Kiss me Kate" which was excellent. The cast were wonderful singers and although the musical is long, it was enjoyable. There was an intermission half way through. It's playing here for another week, btw. Both Roy and I were active in our high school drama clubs. We appreciate the efforts of all involved in putting on a production. It was so nice here to witness the frequent and heartfelt applause for every performer. And people didn't rush out of the theater en masse, either, as they do in Fort Lauderdale. We look forward to returning in the near future.
