When I asked why he hadn't taken it there, he said the actors were "too demanding and difficult." I believed in the Foundry enough to personally contribute $5,000 in 2022. That same year, I brought him a play I had discovered from obscurity, then produced and directed in Los Angeles in 1997, which Encounters magazine named it one of the year's best theatrical experiences. Ronnie produced a staged reading at the Foundry where he allowed me to direct it. After the reading at the Foundry, he proclaimed to the audience that "It was the best staged reading in the history of his theatre." He then asked the audience whether he should produce it. The answer was an yes. He scheduled it for December 2023 and hired me to direct. When holiday conflicts cost me most of my cast, I asked in October for help recasting and for a meeting with the set designer. He cancelled the production, calling me "too demanding and difficult." The theatre has since announced Stray Dog Story, directed by Mr. Larsen. I hold no rights to that play, but the timing is disappointing and poor business practice as he promised that he would support me if I produced it elsewhere. This support did not happen. Theft? No. Hurtful and mean spirited? In my opinion yes. I remain grateful for the work I saw at the Foundry. Broadway is love. My personal opinion…read more That said, year after year, a rendition of The Phantom of the Opera comes down from dear ol' NYC. This year, it came and I was fortunate enough to buy two tickets for the last showing. Having seen many versions of this icon, I must say that the actor who played the phantom hit it out of the park. The same can be said for who played the madam. I cannot say that for Kristine, though, as though she sung her notes beautifully, she sounded muffled. I would think this would be an acoustic-related issue, but she was the only one who sounded this way. The effects were amazing, the music synced with the actors perfectly, and overall, it was a beautiful show. Did I cry like I thought I would? Nope, but nevertheless, I recommend it for both novices and Broadway lovers alike.

The production excelled in every aspect, with each character delivering a memorable performance. The play was captivating throughout, with not a single moment of dullness. The fact that the house was full speaks to the production's broad appeal. The large cast was expertly managed, and the production was executed with remarkable professionalism. As a result, the cast received a well-deserved standing ovation, with the entire audience rising to applaud their outstanding performance. Every cast member has good reason to be extremely proud of their accomplishment. I thought at the end, I could get a picture of the entire cast taking their final bow, but no pictures were allowed.

However, the theater really is properly known as the Infinite Abyss which specializes in adult works that might best said to be the edgiest in psychological horror plays, productions involving a certain brinksmanship with reality as well as those involving nudity. Basically, as they so aptly put it, plays that "...few local companies have the guts to tackle." I couldn't help but fall in love with this little theater as it is small and intimate. It's little theater like these wherein you can actually hear the voices of the actors without electronic amplification and catch all the subtleties of their theatrical abilities. And, like the Empire Stage Theater and the productions done here by Island City Stage, all performed by those of superlative theater skills and acting abilities.

And it's all donated to the theatre to keep prices low, so if you're not drinking, just drop some money in the piggy bank. They also have a couple candy bars and a couple bags of pretzels for sale as well. The performance I saw was Love and Human Remains. I really enjoyed the show! Great performances, and they were all at the door to say good-night or speak to the audience. If you see a performance scheduled that you think you might enjoy, grab up some tickets. It'll probably be pretty good!

The stage, props, costumes, makeup, tech equipment were all top notch! The chairs look like they took them from an old theatre and reused them. There are two restrooms for all the people to share during the intermission. There was plenty of time for everyone to use the facility. They do 4 productions a year and this one included adults. All the others are children only. The singing and performances from the actors was excellent. After the show you can talk with the cast. The sound and lighting was better than some shows I have seen at Parker Playhouse. Parking is easy. It's the third floor of the Dillard's parking garage. It is free and there are plenty of spots. I am going to keep my eye on their upcoming schedule and attend another great production.

When I went to open house, I was able to see the Jelly Bean room which is way to small to hold 20 children and the carpet was so stained and dirty, I was actually in shock. Then they showed me the room where the kids eat and do arts and crafts which was even smaller, dirtier and looked like a storage room. I notified them that evening that I was EXTREMELY unhappy with the cleanliness of the facility and told them I would not be sending my kids there. That's when they told me that had to have my "dispute" reviewed by a board which only meets once a month. Anyway, long story short, I am having to fight to get my money returned. Please, please, please do yourself a favor and check out the facility before you actually pay them.

I saw The Wedding Singer and felt that the volume of the voices was dull. There was also a strange buzzing distortion sound from time to time. I can't tell you if it was a one time production fluke but it's a shame because they certainly have a hit if they can work out these auditory problems. Plenty of parking and reasonable prices make this a great option for anyone in the Pembroke Pines area.

The Wilton Theater Factory now houses both the original 68-seat theater, now called The Mainstage, at 2304 Dixie Highway, and the new Foundry, at 2306 Dixie Highway, being a more intimate 50-seat theater. It is believed that The Wilton Theater Factory, in addition to being home of Island City Stage and Infinite Abyss Productions, will become a sought-after venue for other theatrical and entertainment productions. I've attended a good number of performances at this location by both Island City Stage and Infinite Abyss Productions prior to the expansion and renaming. Both theaters of this newly named complex are intimate and comfortable with one of the best things about them being that you can hear everything without the necessity of the performer's voices being electronically enhanced. You are also right up there so you can visually see everything. All of the performances I've seen have been first class top notch in both acting and staging. And, the plays presented here are like no other that you will find elsewhere. Many are of original works, premier first time performances and also always eclectic and unique striking in depth at social and political issues other theaters dare not even touch upon. "Anna and the Zombie Apocalypse" -the shadow cast! Wow!! Wasn't sure what to expect but was I…read morepleasantly surprised!!! What a fun and exciting way to experience the cult classic film about Anna and her classmates whose lives are turned upside down when a viral global outbreak makes everyone a ZOMBIE ‍! The cast come out and perform musical numbers; dance and lip-synch, dressed like the characters they each bring to life and off the movie screen as it plays behind them. Humorous and at times emotionally touching, everyone in their lives are forever changed. They do warn you not everyone gets a Hollywood ending! ‍ Anna, played by Anna Christine, hits the ground running and was spectacular throughout as she, along with her cast-mates, takes us along on her zombie adventure. Lip-syncing her heart out as we watch her lose friends, town folk and family as the zombie madness spreads. Nick, played by Luis Albaer was phenomenal as the troubled school jock/bad boy turned Zombie slayer who steps up to the plate --literally (baseball bat in hand) to do his best to defend his friends... bashing zombies one skull at a time. It was a delightful bloodbath! Erynn Dalton, who not only directed the shadow cast; but stars brilliantly alongside them as starlet in the making Lisa, was superb. I HIGHLY recommend seeing it while you can and supporting local artists while you're at it. I had a great time and got to meet the entire talented cast immediately after the performance. They were warm and welcoming and made me feel like family. I look forward to more performances at the Wilton Theater Factory and see more amazing performances from Erynn and her troupe of remarkable thespians .

I attended 'Airmen of Note' on Nov 16, 2024 at Bailey Hall. Parking was convenient on a Saturday…read morenight, spaces are marked ' faculty' so it could be more difficult when classes are in session. Bailey Hall hosts many arts and cultural events, many which are free throughout the year. The facility is very clean and well maintained. The seats in the theater are very comfortable. The lighting and acoustics are exceptional. All seats have good visibility to the stage. Food and drinks are not allowed in the theater, only bottled water.

We have attended Bailey Hall every year for my niece's Academy of Arts dance recital, except one…read moreyear that they were remodeling. The recital was held at another hall that doesn't hold a candle to Bailey! Broward College in Davie does a phenomenal job keeping everything pristine, and the customer relations are professional and tolerant. Bailey Hall's carpeting, floors and seating for over a thousand, were remodeled about four years ago to the tune of $5MM. They also made upgrades to the stage, doors, concession area, as well as the outside. Since then, many more arts and cultural events have been hosted here and many more would too, had they put a little more money toward repaving the parking lot with better drainage during heavy rain. The engineers and planners must not have realized how cumbersome it is to have to walk the length of an entire football field after finding parking on the side of another BC building because of flooding; especially when it's pouring and there is an insufficient amount of Disabled parking spaces. For this reason, I give them 3.5 stars. Parking IS a big deal!
