There aren't many cities or communities within the United States more diverse in every aspect, particularly in sexual orientations, than Fort Lauderdale and Wilton Manors and this is where Empire Stage so perfectly fits in. According to their own statement of purpose, they are an artist driven collective producing works for diverse audiences such as the LGBT Community. They present dramatic and musical works from the New York City as well as the South Florida artistic communities and have the goal of offering a supportive environment for artists to develop their skills as writers, actors, producers, designers, etc. Empire Stage is super small theater but for my tastes, that makes it all the better. Being small, every seat is nearly a front row seat. When seated you get to effortlessly see everything and there is little to zero need for those irritating mics and electronic voice enhancements. My most recent visit to Empire Stage was to see a performance of "Bathhouse: The Musical." As it is the story of Billy and his first time adventures into a gay bathhouse along with original songs based upon gay sex themes that humorously depict the adventures of men meeting men for sex, it would have hardly found a welcome as a performance at the Broward Center. The actors who not only had to act, but sing and dance, were all some of the best, most professionals I've seen. So, though this is a small theater, it packs a strong artistic punch. For what Empire Stage is, just a little 30 or so seating hole in the wall of an off street theater presenting LGBT oriented as well as other diverse themed works, it's a solid Five Stars in my book

Great little theatre! I had the pleasure of seeing The Graduate this past weekend. There is not a bad seat in the house. The cast was absolutely amazing. Excellent entertainment!

Very small theater but we saw a well executed performance. Great location to grab dinner/drinks before or after the performance.

We bought our tickets online, about $25 per person, and they were emailed to us. We choose the 9pm show, comedians usually perform two shows per night, 7pm and 9pm. Aside from the admission ticket, there's a two drink minimum per person policy. The drinks are pricey, anywhere from $15-$23 each. If you order food, snacks or dinner it will definitely add to your total. The food however is great, I've been here a few times and have gotten different items each time, and loved it. Seating is first come first served. Once you check in the staff will escort you to your table, they mange how the room fills up so you don't have to cause chaos trying to figure where to go. The club is spacious, and dimly lit, but still easy to maneuver. There also is a very strict no camera policy, for obvious reasons. If you're into stand up's, The Improv is great, just bring a lot of money.

We got the burger and friends and the salmon over mashed potatoes. The food was really good but it was really tight seating wise. Everyone is sat very closely next to each other so if your someone who is looking for leg and arm and body space beware this is a tight seating comedy show. Overall our server was nice and the staff was helpful and nice overall. I will definitely come back in the future.

Weve come to see so many shows, it's different every time for crowds. I haven't tried much of the food except for the fries to snack on-and they were greasy. It's a two drink minimum per person. It's pretty outrageous the prices. Especially since it's on top of the entrance fee ticket-which is different for every show. Hopefully they don't up the price in alcohol too much because as a millennial-it's just about as much as I would pay for a mandatory two drink minimum. It's principle! Weve also been to their free shows which are fun. The best part about these thing though is getting to get pictures at the end with the comics and meeting them. There have been some that just leave right after shows. Overall, service is great. Venue is great. And comedy is all perspective. Highly recommend coming.

I ordered the steak nachos and they weren't too bad at all. The real star for me, though, was definitely the wings... seasoned perfectly and full of flavor. The fries were also pretty good and paired nicely with everything. Now let's talk drinks... they did not skimp on the liquor! Its a 2 drink minimum however my drinks were strong, tasty, and exactly what I needed for a brunch vibe. And to top it all off, the Caribbean festivities was amazing! Good food, strong drinks, and entertainment made this a really fun outing overall, plus the staff were really fun.

The Foundry is a small neighborhood theater in Wilton Manors, just across the street from Union…read morerestaurant and next door to Island City Stage on Dixie Highway. Plays of Wilton makes its home at The Foundry, a 54 seat black box theater that is wheelchair accessible. Since there are only 4 rows of seats and the theater is small and intimate, almost any seat in the main section is a good seat. The seats are next to each other, so people sit tightly in this small venue. There are some side seats sometimes, but I do not recommend, since the angle of vision to the stage is not the best. Out of all the seats in the main area, I find seat B7 to be the best. There's a pole next to it and an aisle on the other side, so this is the one seat that is almost "private". The plays are mostly LGBTQ+ themed and based. The one I went to see called 10 Naked Men was not all nude. Actors stayed clothed most of the time, but the title sure got people excited about the show....LOL.... Hunter's the nightclub was kind enough to donate red and white wine as well as water for the show, so these beverages were complementary throughout the play. There is limited parking in front and behind theater with some handicapped parking spaces. The theater opens one half hour prior to performance times. Performances are usually Wednesday through Sunday. Evening performances at 8 PM and matinees at 2 or 3 PM. As of 2024, the performances are usually : $35 General Reserved Seating $50 Premium 1st Row Seating $25 Side seating, when available
