    Soft opening, so I'm sure they're still working things out. Promising menu but disappointing dishes. N26 Clear Braised Beef Noodle Soup. Nothing to write home about, a bit bland and somehow I think had too much MSG...it had that taste. They give you a good portion of beef. The noodles could be more al dente. N27 Taiwanese Braised Beef Noodle Soup. This soup had more flavor, and points for having suan cai even though it wasn't cut up. Again, generous with the beef, the noodles could be more al dente. N28 Beef Brisket & Oyster with Pork Ball Noodle Soup. I think this was weirdest one. I wanted to like it, but somehow it was bland, again the noodles could be more al dente, and it honestly just left a bad aftertaste. I went to get Jamba Juice at the mall afterwards as a palette cleanser. I would absolutely avoid this one of all the dishes. N34 Century Egg Sesame Noodles. Most OK of the bunch, but I wouldn't come back just for this dish. S40 Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken. This was above average, consistent with some of the better popcorn chicken you'd find at boba shops. Not too salty, not dry, and you get fried basil leaves. They didn't have stinky tofu when we ate there for lunch. Friendly service but did want to give a heads up to curb expectations on the dishes until things smooth out. Also, random and unrelated to the rating of the review, but I'm pretty wary of all the AI slop restaurants are using for marketing materials. Oof.

    New taiwainese restaurant at marina plaza complex. Itvis still soft opening. I came here twice already in two weeks time. The interior is pretty much the similar to 2 previous restaurants. It is open kitchen concept. The menu is pretty simple with mostly taiwanese dishes and also dimsum. One interesting in the menu is stinky tofu. I cannot imagine I'm someone order it. As the restaurant is small, the smell could be overwhelming. We ordered taiwainese beef noodle soup, pig ear, pork chop friedcrice, , golden napa cabbage, wonton noodle soup, tossed bamboo shoot with wood ear and lotus root. The unique dishes are pig ear and golden napa cabbage. This is the first time I have the golden napa cabbage. Thevpig ear is spicy but not too spicy. The popcon chicken is tender eventhough looks like portion is different between tables as many customers ordered it. Beef noodle soup is yummy and the wonton soup too as the noodle , meat and wonton are tasty. The least I like is the tossed bamboo shoot one. Overall good meal. One other thing is suggested gratuity is 18 % and above and in top of total amount with tax.

    So happy to have a delicious authentic Taiwanese restaurant in San Mateo / Foster City. Very reminiscent of the Taiwanese food I had while growing up in Taiwan. Beef and chicken were tasty and tender, cabbage had a very good flavor, the sesame noodle was a different take on the Dan Dan noodle with century egg instead of fried egg. The portions were generous. Friendly staff with good service. So many items I want to try. Will be coming back to try them all in time.

For the skewers, everything was juicy and well-seasoned. The flavoring was great. My personal favorites were the beef and lamb sticks which were tender. We also tried items like gristle, gizzard, and gluten (yum!) We ended up spending a little over $30 per person after tax and tip. Overall, this was a fun group meal and I'm glad it was a good introduction for my friends who hadn't tried this style of skewers before. I'd recommend it!

The noodle dishes are separated between soup and dry noodle versions. For the soups, recommend the Lanzhou hand pulled noodles soup or sichuan braised beef stew noodle soup. For the dry noodle, our favorite is the chilli oil noodles with wide noodles. For appetizers, the spicy wonton is really good. Their spicy sauce has just the right amount of kick and is mildly sweet. While they also serve dumplings, I kind of feel there are dumplings are just average --- stick with the noodles!
