Roy Manbeck was here yesterday to install a Hunter 12 station irrigation timer I had bought. (Some…read morewill not do this...unless they provide the timer). Very fine job in under an hour. He checked to see all the stations ran as programmed. Friendly and professional. Showed up on time and service call charge was reasonable. He provided 3 items not included for my timer....at no charge. His cell# is 541-761-6550.

Called 8 different service providers and no one had a technician available. i was referred to Roy at Gift of Life Irrigation (now in Rogue River)at 541-761-6550). I called him on Veterans Day and he was off on holiday after a busy summer season. He was reluctant to do the work as he promised his wife he would take the day off, but when he realized we were without water for the second day agreed to drive to west hills of Grants Pass and help me out. He quickly analyzed the problem, dug out the area and sawed out the damaged and affected piping. He put in a replacement valve under ground and then decided to put in a second, easier to reach and use, handle valve outside the box to ensure I would not be in this situation again. The work took about an hour and put me back in business. After he presented his invoice I asked him about another issue in my system and if I could call him in Spring to fix it. He decided just to fix it now and quickly did the work. He did not add to the invoice for this extra half hour plus materials. His wife was with him and helped him out with tools and stuff. Very nice people and extremely proficient at his trade. Can't say enough good things about the experience with Roy and Jessica.

I definitely recommend this company. I spoke to a live person on Sunday after nine pm. They were…read moreable to get the job done for us the next day.Reasonably priced.very nice young man.

After having Action Irrigation come out to do repairs and replace a timer earlier in the year they…read more"finished" the job and left the pipes exposed. I had to cover them with a brick. They billed $1100 and overcharged ($500) for a timer and three solenoids after having a long conversation about not using an expensive timer. A simple Google search revealed the parts should have cost $200 at most. When called back out to repair a leak on the exposed pipes they dug this hole and said they couldn't do the repair today. They claimed that the damage was done by the landscaper which happened to be me. They gave me no time for scheduling on the repair and left the hole as is. The next day when I called to ask when they would be coming back the owner told me "soon." I pressed the matter and got "next week" after being talked over repeatedly which got me upset. Finally he said they would come on Monday but wouldn't come back before that to fill in the hole they left behind. Because I expressed my disappointment (I admittedly lost my cool at this point) and did curse once, he then refused to come back to do the job. When the owner said he would not come back I hung up the phone. Then the owner texted me with an offer to fill in the hole after he refused to finish the job. I texted back saying no and "good luck with your business." The owner then texted me back with further insults and I blocked his number. In ten years of being an HOA president I have never had a business do such a poor job and be so unwilling to do basic safety protocols. To be clear: All I asked for was to have a schedule and to come back that day to fill the hazardous hole Action Irrigation left behind. I cursed once (f'ing) and was never directed at the owner. My ire was justified by the overcharging, lack of responsibility, poor work, and the fact that I had to pull teeth to get an actual date for the return to perform repairs. The conversation was heated. I never "screamed." Don't use this company, it's not worth the liability...
