LEHI Pump earns a five star rating from me for two reasons: a quick diagnosis of the problem using preferred methods and a repair cost of half the cost of another company's proposal. That's the short version of the story. If you care to, read the long version below about my experience with LEHI versus the company I did not hire. I ran out of water at 11 p.m. the Friday before Thanksgiving. Going to the pump house, I found the pressure gage reading zero. The usual pull-up on the pressure switch toggle did not change anything, I looked on internet sites, including YELP, to find local well water system experts to fix whatever was going on. Usually I use Quinns as a repair service but, according to their telephone message, they were available for emergencies only on the weekends. I did not consider this an emergency. Instead, on Saturday morning, I called a well system service that had regular hours on the weekends. The other company: In about an hour after my call, a polite young man arrived. Although very nice, he didn't seem to know what he was doing which did not instill confidence in me about his company's expertise in well system repairs. Instead of diagnosing the problem, he replaced "old looking" parts with new ones which, I guess, is one way to go about it. And he was on his cell phone a lot "with the shop" crew who appeared to be telling him what to do. When his replacement parts didn't solve anything, he suggested that my well might have run out of water despite the fact that for three weeks we had been, and still were, accumulating inches of rain from what the weatherman referred to as atmospheric rivers. The stream below my house was roaring with water in the background. After about an hour and a half of fiddling and replacing parts at the pump house, the other company rep said the pump would have to be pulled from the well. I asked him for an estimate. As he plugged out the figures from his laptop for new pipe, pump, and a number of other parts, I decided I would get a second opinion and could wait until Monday to get it. When I didn't agree immediately to his proposal, the rep removed the new parts he had installed from the pump house telling me he was doing this so the next guy could evaluate the same situation that he had. (Obviously, the old parts did not need replacement.) I paid him $150 for the service call. He emailed my receipt and the quote for the proposed repair. LEHI: On Monday morning I called LEHI based primarily on a YELP review by Lupe M. and the LEHI website. Here was a small family business on its third generation of a family member joining it. This indicated to me years of accumulated expertise in well system repair coupled with longevity and success with its customer base. Before Monday, over the internet, I spent several hours reviewing well system parts, problems, diagnostic methods, and solutions. I was the original owner of the 45 year old well. It was time I learned something about how it worked. The experience with LEHI was 100% different from that with the other company. Within 15 minutes, the problem at the well was diagnosed by the grey bearded LEHI rep and likely family member. (I don't know his name.) Based on my very recent education about well system diagnostics, he was using the correct method to determine whether the pump needed to be pulled. As he showed me, the AMP readings at the pressure switch were in the correct range, the switch was working, but the well water was not being delivered up the well to the pressure tank. Ruling out pressure tank issues, either the pipe down the well or pump or both were defective. The pump needed to be pulled. The LEHI rep said his crew was on another job but could likely be at my place that day and water restored. He gave me a quote for a new pump and pipe off the top of his head, also based on years of experience. It was half the amount of the other company's quote. I agreed to the repair. By 2 p.m. the job was complete and water at the house restored. A younger man (the third generation??) and what appeared to be his female assistant (good for you, girl!) did the work. I also saved $200 off the original quote because the pipe did not need replacing. My recommendation: Save some time. Save some money. Try LEHI. read more

We had a well issue when an electrical box blew. Had another company come out and change the box for about $320 and was told we needed a whole new system for $5000. New pressure tank, pipe into ground et.. Called Lehi for second opinion. They explained each component to the well and after inspection we determined I only need a pressure tank and a small repair with something to do with a pressure valve. $1200. When we said your hired they didn't even charge the service fee of $125 that day. The guy who came to estimate and the one who came to do the job were both very nice. Took the time to explain everything. Our well has been running nicely since and it's been about 5 months. Thank you thank you Lehi. read more

If you have a well or pump problem and you're anywhere in the Rogue Valley, you owe it to yourself to call Ron and LeHi pump. I've lived on a rural, 8 acre hobby farm for almost 30 years - and used most if not all of the pump/well service companies in the area over the years. Sadly, not all are competent or honest. After trying them all, I now exclusively use LeHi. Ron & and his team are honest, fairly priced, reliable and will perform whatever you need in a competent, professional manor - without breaking the bank, which is oh so important. Our most recent experience with LeHi, just a week ago, confirms they're the best. We got three bids, LeHi was thousands lower than competing bids, and they got the job done promptly, cleanly and professionally. My well is an old one, buried in the ground in a cement vault. It wasn't an easy job, but Dustin & crew got it done in fine style. Five stars is well deserved. read more

We thought our well pump went out so we gave Ron at Lehi Pump a call. His company did the flow test on our wells when we purchased to property and were very professional, so we gave them another try. We couldn't be more happy with the service Ron and his company provided. Within 10 min at our house they told us the pump was fine and more than likely we just had a hole in the pipe that connects to our pump. We scheduled them to come back the next day to get to work and sure enough in the last section of pipe there was a quarter size hole. Ron and his team could have recommended we replace the pump and pipe for a couple thousands, but after Ron inspected the other sections of the pipe and the pump he recommended we just removed that section of the pipe and set the pump back in the well. After the pump was set back in the well everything worked great and our holding tank filled right up. Hard to believe a quarter size hole in the pipe could cause such a mess. Because of Ron's honesty and integrity we will definitely only call Lehi Pump for any service work or additional equipment in the future. They were very responsive and diagnosed our problem in minutes, but I guess that is what you get when you work with a company with over 40 years of experience. read more
