It is unfortunate that you could have a pretty woman experience in this store. Apparently people just popping in because they were looking for another store and would have happily bought something are just run out. To grossly inflate prices and lie about merchandise value is terrible customer service and makes me wish I had gone to saks after work like normal. Instead I thought oh take a look it's a charity shop for the hospital that's sweet. It is a shame I wanted to try to like it instead it left a hollow impression. Upon entering. You're greeted. They have the heat on so ventilation was very good. Very good amount of fresh flowing clean air circulating as well as the atmosphere smelled very good for a thrift store. The store is fully stocked with tons of different items. The clothing ratio is about 80% female and 20% male items. The store is highly organized and very clean. Almost every single luxury brand you could think of is here from Brioni ties to Hermes bags. They have various viewable display cases with very high end luxury items inside. The entire store is TWO LEVELS. On the bottom level is mainly all the household items. Very high-class presentation of some items such as the dining table fully setup nicely. ,**SEE PICS**. Tons of artwork on the lower level as well and displayed professionally on the wall. They have fitting rooms to try on some items. The employees are very friendly, professional and social. After asking numerous questions about some items as well as asking to see numerous items in various display cases. Never were the employees irritated or annoyed. Always calm and professional. Very very good customer service. Parking is not bad because the thrift store shares a parking lot with the shopping center. Parking is free as well currently. The only downfall is THIS IS NOT A TREASURE HUNT type of thrift store as most aren't in 2025 , "The staff knows exactly what they have". EXACTLY. Mostly all the items have been priced to align with their value. It's still however a very good deal compared to retail prices. Example: Brioni ties can range from $300-$500 per tie but here they're priced around $30 which is a major savings. Sometimes you can find items that have bypassed "inspection" such as items that have been priced using "general pricing" such as all shirts are a certain price and you will find a luxury brand or all ties are a certain price and find a luxury tie such as ETON OR Zenga. **SEE PICS**. Pricing can be a tad bit high on CERTAIN ITEMS but funding goes to Inova Hospital so it's worth the extra cost depending on some items. Since most thrift stores are just "giant commercial entities" these days such as 2A and especially Planet Aid. The thrift stores that ACTUALLY fund hospitals such as this one. Will gladly pay more to support local resources. Overall. A++, Amazing customer service, Rare 2nd hand luxury items at partially discount prices as well as the presentation of some items are a major plus. read more

The INOVA Treasure Trove in McLean is great resale shop for men's & women's clothing, handbags, shoes (including Ferragamo & other high-end brands as well as moderately priced quality shoes), jewelry, accessories & home goods. You'll find China & glassware sets on the lower level, along with art, table linens, books, miscellaneous items & sometimes furniture. It is also a great place to donate if you are clearing your closet or downsizing. Prices are reasonable compared to retail. I recently purchased 2 pairs of beautiful NEW! shoes that retail for $200-300 at less than $50 each. Clothing is fresh & clean, sometimes unworn with the original tags. Turnover is frequent. Item prices are reduced over time & color-coded tags will identify prices reduced by 25, 50 or 75 percent off. Convenient hours include weekends! 11-5 Tuesday through Sunday. I have to say this was my least favorite of all the thrift stores I visited during my thrifting marathon from Thurmont Md to Springfield, VA, even though it was the one with the most amount of promise. Driving through this area I was in awe of the stately homes and luxury cars lining the streets. Even the strip mall that this store is located in felt higher end, and indeed it was. The "thrift" store itself - and I say that with air quotes as I got the feeling this was not a thrift store at all, was very boushie. The inside is cramped with people and inventory and I did see piles along the wall. I got the feeling from overhearing some of the conversations happening around the register that this is high end consignment. It is NOT the place to go for a bargain. Even the "clearance" section on the lower level was above my pay grade. While everything was displayed nicely, it was way over the top and had an old money feel. I didn't see anything I would want to display in my home even if the prices were reasonable. I felt they cater to an older, country club type of shopper with bad taste. The clothing was matronly as well, so even though the brands were desirable, the styles were completely outdated. I also felt very out of place in my flannel short and jeans and could feel them watching me throughout the store like I would want to steal that gawdy stuff! The staff was made up of overly dressed older women probably with pedigrees, who didn't make you feel warm and welcome. In all I did a quick walk thru and couldn't find my way to the door fast enough. A thrift store they are not, but then again I don't think this clientele would know real thrift if it smacked them in the face. I absolutely love this shop! It isn't my go to thrift shop, but when I am looking for designer handbags, clothes and shoes, this is where I head! The home furnishings are also amazing. In the clothing section, while some is a bit dated, you can find some real bargains on the racks. Their selection of shoes is high end, for both men and women. Where can you get Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, or Blahnik shoes for around $100? The men's section, while very small, it is full of quality items. Bonus deal is the ties for $4! There are tons of handbags from inexpensive to designer all at huge discounts! You will also find a big selection of furs and accessories at a great price. The jewelry selection is awesome and offers inexpensive fashionable items, to Tiffany, and up to designer diamonds with appraisals. There are so many things to choose from! Something I really like and appreciate about McLean's Treasure Trove is the basement. The lower level is full of household furniture and accessories. It is beautifully displayed and easily accessible. This is a great place to get some nice dishes or glassware as well as the decorating touches that make an area special. Again, items range from affordable to high end brands at a discount. The associates are super friendly and really go out of their way to help you and show you items. I have always had personable and efficient service and have never heard anything besides that. When you arrive, look on the wall behind the counter to see what color tags have extra discounts for the day. Those discounts are based on how long an item has been in the shop. Be sure to register for their loyalty program, which is also usable at the other TT locations. Watch out for their periodic sales to score percent off prices. I signed up as a consigner with the Inova Treasure Trove in Springfield, Virginia. I have never dealt with more unfriendly and more unprofessional folks at a non-profit organization. It is really a shame. They are unhelpful and rude. They are also not clear about their contract and don't make everything clear. I have now lost money instead of making any. I normally donate my stuff to Veterans of America. I decided to sell a few my items since the proceeds will help the hospital as well. I am trying to sell enough items to be even. After I showed up there with my items, I was told I had to pay 25.00 to even consign which they did not tell me on the phone. Today, I was informed on the phone, I will not get my 13.00 ( it items sold) unless it is 20.00. So, if my other items don't sell, I am out of 38.00. What a rip off for a non-profit!!! read more

I used to frequent the Treasure Trove when I lived in McLean 10 years ago and it truly lived up to it's name. I found many outfits for my children and myself, the basement used to be packed with a big assortment of clothing. Clothing is now upstairs, a fraction of the stock it used to be, and I didn't see a kids section at all this time. It has now taken on the feel of a higher priced consignment shop. Good for them if they can make money doing this for a good cause but I've walked out empty handed the last few times I've been here. read more

Treasure Trove can be a fun and entertaining hour of hunting for vintage finds amongst the 80's shoulder pads and cheap castaway Kasper suits, but beware - - some of the pricing is way out of tune with reality. Treasure Trove sometimes forgets itself, imagining that it is a well-vetted consignment shop or true vintage boutique; it is not. More often than not, the prices are just way too high for what is offered, which is, used clothing. Uncovering an authentic Caroline Herrara dress from the 70's is a rare stroke of incredible luck, not the usual fare. But Treasure Trove is now charging *as if* instead of *as is.* Still, if you know what you're doing, know what you are looking for, are fully informed, or all three, you can find some things that are fun to wear and not likey to be in mass circulation. read more

The Treasure Trove used to be good and run by nice older ladies. You could always find a bargain. These days it's run by mean bitter women who act as if they are working at Neiman Marcus and are late clocking out. No one who works there is nice, and that goes for the manager. They are extremely picky about what they will consign (which I understand) and give you a list of designers they accept, all upscale.....then you'll see racks of clothes by Chicos or New York and Company. (and lots of preppy dated JCrew and Talbots stuff) They have all these rules about what time YOU MUST CALL to make an appointment, what hangers you have to use, how the clothes need to be hung, how they need to be ironed and dry cleaned. Even if you get through on the phone and make an appointment, expect to wait an hour before they get to you, and they'll have an attitude like they're doing you a favor WHEN in fact they are profiting 50% of what your items sell for. When you go to pick up your unsold items, don't expect anyone to help you find them or tell you what has sold. They will act like you're invisible, this after you just made the store $600. I'm surprised INOVA Charities hasn't done research into the rude unprofessional women who run this store considering all the previous bad reviews. It's a shame, the staff really need to check their egos at the door and maybe they wouldn't get such negative feedback. There are plenty of other thrift stores in the area that would be happy to have your money. read more

Im extremely disappointed with treasure trove as of late. I realise they operate on time of unpaid volunteers and that this is a charitable facility, but this place has really changed in the last few years. you have to call between 9:00 and 9:05 (I'm not kidding) in order to reserve a same-day consignment appointment. They take appointments between 10 - 12 every 20 minutes. The amount of items you can bring fluctuates between 6 -12, and they frequently change the types of items they can take to keep the store 'fresh'. What im most disappointed with is the inability to price your own items. I find that they set prices at an asinine level. The impact of that is that my items are less likely to sell :( If they dont sell after 30 days and I dont pick them up, the item becomes property of Treasure Trove and they are free to mark up or down - benefiting the organization. I see how this is beneficial to a nonprofit, but I cant help but feel muffed. Years ago you just showed up, passed on your belongings, set a price and got a check in the mail. what a bummer :( read more

Mgr fancies herself a valuables expert due to her Mother's training & is inflexible in her routines. it is her store & her way or highway. Volunteers are nice ladies but not sales ladies nor customer service oriented. Has furniture but habitat 4 humanity's prob trumps. Weak on books & CDs. ok for scarves & purses. You'll find lots of used china & porcelain. Not a lot of cookware or kitchen tools. read more

Pickers go through the stuff before YOU get to it. Same with other church thrift shops. Then they e-bay it. Sometimes I wonder if pickers work there, or if the people who work there decide to be pickers. Despite that, there is always interesting stuff there because the McLean donors have been all over the world. And when McLean women are tired of their chinchilla full length coats, they donate them to Treasure Trove. The stuff is expensive, but some of it is so unique that it would make fun gifts. read more

I think this Treasure Trove is a hidden gem and a gold mine for me. To list the treasures I have found in this store would take too long but let me just say Channel, St. John, Lafayette, Ralph Lauren Black Label, Armani, Valentino, Manolo Blanik, Jimmy Choo, all of these I have purchased and in mint condition many during their 25% off weekend sale. If you know and truly appreciate the cost of designer clothing and shoes you know the deal you get here. The staff is WONDERFUL - hands down. If I could give 0 stars I would do so. I was in there today with my boyfriend shopping for some items. He found a golf set that he really liked and wanted. When he went to the counter the women told him how much they were. He then said isn't that a peach tag and on sale? She took the tag held it up and in front of the entire store said to me (i was on the other side of the store) what color does that look to you, in a very rude and condescending way. I looked at her and said he is almost completely color blind so he cant tell the difference between beige and peach. oh and at the counter they had a picture of the peach tag so people like me who can see full color clearly have an issue determining the difference also. There wasn't even an apology after she embarrassed him in front of the entire store because of a medical condition he was born with. There is no need to ever treat anyone like that. She could have politely told him that in fact it was a beige tag and not peach. I told him to put away the rest of our items and we left. I will never go back there and will be telling others in the community about this poor tasteless place. read more

Lots of cool stuff here, however they are a bit overpriced for a thrift store. And God forbid you come in 20 minutes before closing, they won't even allow you in the second half of the store! They will rush you to get out before they close, and keep verbally reminding you that you have only "8 more minutes". This place smells old. Which is appropriate, because that's what most of their stuff is: old. And not like cool vintage old, it's more like Nana's Biker Phase old. If you dig really deep (I mean, REALLY deep), you might find a BCBG dress or a J. Crew blouse. It's also pretty weirdly priced. Think Juicy Couture for $13, but a cast-off prom dress you could find at any mall for around $175. Both in excellent, almost new condition. Huh. Some of their glassware is cool, though. And all the proceeds go to Fairfax Hospital, so if you do end up finding something, you feel good about yourself, both for your superior excavation skills and donating to a good cause. read more

showed up on a Wednesday and couldn't remember if that was one of the days they're currently closed on (they're currently closed 3 days a week for covid i guess). a lady walked in who was carrying merchandise. i couldn't tell if she was dropping something off or if she was a worker so i kinda stood there trying to figure out if they were open or not. right when i saw the closed sign a lady made direct eye contact with me and locked the door. and apparently as soon as i walked away my boyfriend informed me that she unlocked the door again. i get they were closed but that was beyond rude and i will never shop here again. also prices are very very high for a thrift store like place. 10/10 don't recommend to going unless you wanna overpay. read more

This used to be my favorite consignment shop in the area ... until about two years ago. I don't know what happened but it was something drastic. As a consigner, the policy changed from bringing in any 12 items or so, first-come, first-served, to making an appointment (and the schedule was always full by the time you called). Then, they would only accept certain things. For instance, on the day I called, instead of bringing in clothes, they would only accept table linens and candles!!! I brought in some gorgeous furs, wanting to price them reasonably, only to be told (by management) that they had to charge much more. As a result, none of them sold. As a customer, they reduced the inventory by at least half and raised the prices. I no longer visit there. read more

I have found that it depends when you shop at Treasure Trove--if it's right before their consignments, then the pickings are scarce, but if they've just put out some newly gotten merchandise, then there are some good finds. I agree that there seems to be no system for pricing, but I have been pleased with some $7 Calvin Klein pants, $20 pink raincoat, $35 sturdy bamboo-accented table, & numerous vases/baskets, which I buy when those stickers are half priced that day. read more

As another reviewer wrote, that you literally have to make the appointment between 9:00 and 9:06. I called 7 times to busy signals this morning and then at 9:08 was told by a lady with an uppity tone to "call back tomorrow". When pressed, she admitted that they wouldn't be taking calls tomorrow as it would be a Saturday. Yesterday the management was at a meeting, so I was told to call today. There should be a wait list instead of this silly morning scramble. I'll take my stuff elsewhere. read more

The Treasure Trove was once, well, a treasure! However, the former manager of the Christ Church Consignment in Georgetown, DC brought her vision to the story a few months ago. Now, items are highly overpriced. We looked at two pewter necklaces - online at the store that makes them for the exact same price as the Treasure Trove. Also, a Fossil watch priced at $55, available from Fossil for $19.99. What were once finds are now dearly priced in the hundreds of dollars. Sadly, we once welcomed a trip to the Treasure Trove, but now feel very ripped off when we look there. Best move on to a different shop with your charitable yen for bargains. read more

This is one of my favorite thrift stores. Much of the clothing is in almost new condition, and I've gotten some amazing bargains. The basement has a mix of goods, some interesting, some so-so, and some ancient (including books on cassette). Some of the volunteers seem a little befuddled, though. read more

The new (new manager) TT is both better and worse. It was fun standing in line to consign, chatting with other consigners all with a story. Now, you need to call, get an appointment, and go. The phone is always busy. Start at 8:50 and redial until 9:20 only to find all appointments are booked or they are taking only men's shoes (for example) that day.(I speak from experience of calling 9 days in a row). Remember that they are volunteers, so some are charming and very helpful and some will make you feel two inches tall as they critique your offering, and your sense of style along with it! But if you are in game to clear out your closet, it can be fun: if you want to make big money, try something else. About half my items have sold, so I have about 200 less things to move around in my house. You can take back within 30 days or just donate. And if you are trying to downsize, remember that you should leave more there than you buy. There are some great buys. read more

things have really changed for the worse at this shop-they think just because they have a McLean address they can charge Tysons Corner prices for used clothing and check out the shoes, over $50 for used shoes just because they have some designer name. I used to consign here regularly but they make it difficult to work with you now, tell you what you are going to ask for your merchandise and have their noses in the air unless you are bringing names like Gucci coach or St Johns clothing.. I don't know who is in charge now but they sure aren't on top of how this store is being run anymore. No wonder they are open on Sunday now, they are running off all their loyal customers that have patronized this shop for years. Inova better wake up with this thrift store. read more
