After going to this place for 6 plus years and spending THOUSANDS of dollars supporting this local business I started to notice the change in how the owner Mike was treating me. One time I brought up that my brakes were making weird noises, he kept telling me that he couldn't get the car to replicate the noise, mind you every time I drove the car I would hear the noise easily. It got to the point that he even told my girlfriend in front of me that maybe she shouldn't let me drive the car anymore. Two month later when inspection time came brakes and rotor had to be replaced ........ really you don't say?! Also one time I had to pretty much beg him to replace a cam shaft sensor in my car because I just didn't have the proper tools nor the garage at the time to do the work and it was mid winter I was 99% sure that it would fix my issue and check engine light. I got the car back everything was fine for about an hour or so then the light came back on with the same code drove around like that for the entire winter until spring time when I was able to actual work on the car outside. Come to find out the sensor wasn't even plugged in properly.....so you mean to tell me I paid you $300 in labor to do shit work, that's def not good business. The kicker for me was when I brought my car in for an inspection earlier this year which he should not offer because he brings the car to third party tire shops for inspection and don't actually do inspection there but the kicker for me was he told me that my vehicle failed for tinted windows lol the only tinted windows are the rear window which is 100% legal in New York State as well as the sun visor tint on the front windshield as long as it isn't past 6" which mine isn't. So when I questioned it he got really defensive and kinda loud which I questioned backhanding him in the mouth for so for future reference watch how you speak to customers cause you might find the right one...but he told me that I was a waste of his time and money to go back to where he supposedly took my car to get inspected and have it re inspected. Waste of time and money? No Mike, innovative performance auto is a waste of time and money so please people do yourself a favor and go somewhere else where you feel appreciated for supporting someone's business. read more

We have been going to Innovative Performance for several years now. Mike alway finds time to help us out. Even when he is swamped with cars, he finds the time to fit us in. He is always fair and honest. He and his crew do a great job and we have never had a problem with any of the work performed at his shop. Mike was even kind enough to help out one of my co-workers he didn't know, on a last minute basis because she had a 100 mile commute and he didn't want her to break down on her ride home. Mike and his crew have always been honest, fair, and detailed in their work. After taking it to the dealer and having them miss it repeatedly Mike was able to figure out the problem, fixed it quickly, and did fantastic work. We've taken the car back for the 100,000 mile check up, tire and oil changes, and major repairs. Every time he gives us a detailed run down of the services provided, the reasons for them, and any recommendations. They're never pushy or rude - always polite, personal and reliable. Although it lacks the glitz of a dealer show room (which is fine with me), his prices are reasonable and fair, and we have never had to see him for the same problem twice unlike previous dealers or mechanics. We initially heard about him through a co-worker of my husbands, and now recommend him whenever others ask who we use. When you can't do your own work, having someone you can trust to do the job right is worth its weight in gold. I was new to the area and was searching for a good mechanic I could rely on to help fix my car correctly when needed and not try and screw me over like most do.
