Pulling up to the enclosed garage
G-Dawg ..

New Location. Same 5-star service! We've been depending on Depaula Mazda Service for a couple of years now and couldn't be happier. Their new building now matches the level of service they provide. Even though I had an issue once after having my car serviced, I returned a bit later and they resolved the issue within minutes. (I had a low tire pressure light come on after a rotation...just needed a bit of air). Employees are polite, professional, and knowledgeable. Like many (perhaps all?) Mazda service centers, they send a video of the work they're performing. The new building looks high tech. You're able to exit your car in an enclosed garage. There are comfortable waiting areas with coffee, water, and WiFi.

My dogs acclimating to the new vehicle.

This was my first time shopping for a new car and only my second time going to an actual dealership. I'm happy to say that DePaula Mazda did an excellent job! To give some background, about 12 years ago, before I moved back to NYS from CA, a gearhead friend of mine suggested I checkout the Mazda3 hatchback. He was a self-proclaimed car guru gifted with the unique ability to predict your favorite vehicle based on your personality. It had been 13 years since I even needed a car, so I was open to any and all suggestions. I found and purchased a beautiful uniquely blue, 2007, pre-Bluetooth standard, used Mazda3 from a veterinarian in Colonie, and I have to admit, my car guru was 100% correct in his prediction. Despite my efforts to take great care of my beautiful car, 12 years later I found out that the 2007 Mazda3's had severe rust issues under the car, and I was lucky that mine lasted that long. So I found myself car shopping during the pandemic, looking for a very specific replacement to my favorite car. Subaru almost had me, but during my test drive, the base model felt plastic-y and cheap, it had poor pickup (horsepower), and I had a very typical "used car salesman" type experience from the Schenectady dealership -- which immediately turned me off to the well-respected brand. Months later it finally happened... Like a ray of light, a summoning from the great beyond, an email came in from one of those CarFax/CarGurus sites about a reasonably priced, blue, preferred, 2020 Mazda3 Hatchback. It had everything I needed (which was a pretty short list that included, AWD, blue colored, and Android Auto). Upon arrival, I was greeted by a new salesperson named Colin. He was young and definitely new to the process, but he more than made up for that with excellent customer service and his willingness to go above and beyond. To be fair, the car practically sold itself, but Colin was the breathe of fresh air that I needed, and I was happy to give him the final sale. From test drive, to the masked elbow bump (aka - the pandemic handshake), the experience was pretty smooth. Colin emailed me and texted me all the information I needed. Then he and the DePaula team did all the nightmarish work which included registering the vehicle in my name, transferring my plates over, transferring my insurance, figuring out the loan details, and lining up the paperwork. Honestly, it couldn't have been an easier, more pleasant experience, and I'll always recommend them because of the great work Colin and the DePaula Mazda team did.

Superb experience at Depaula Mazda. Jeff Jenkins did not push a vehicle on me, he worked with me and kept in contact with me via phone and email. Jeff is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and straight to the point, no messing around. Once my certified pre owned vehicle was ready they gave me a call. When I arrived they had the car in such Pristine condition you could not tell it was used! Jeff gave me a tutorial on the vehicles infoscreen and showed me how all the bells and whistle's operated. Jeff made sure I felt completely comfortable in the vehicle. With the help of Frank Santoro from the finance department i was able to obtain the best rate. One of the best buying experiences I've ever had, I left feeling like family. This is how car buying should be, stress free and happy! I highly recommend you consider Depaula Mazda for your next vehicle purchase. Ask for Jeff, you will not be disappointed!

He met with the owner and his son- John Aidala and Steven Aidala, the day before, Being the Matriarch of the family, I felt he should be buying from a larger know company. The neighborhood has deteriorated over the last 30 years and to be honest, I was reluctant to even drive there. Talk about a step back in time-the 79 yr old owner was sitting right there in a 1970's desk, personally greeting anyone that came through the door. All the paperwork was really to be reviewed and more than satisfactory. The inspection had been done at the closest dealers. The son advised me he would pick up my Brother at his home, later that day. "They" would complete everything at the DMV and my Brother could drive his new car home that day. John was reminiscing about "our" school days-we all attended Vincentian Institute. If you want to seriously be treated like "you're special"-go here, Amazing family business that was just honored by the City of Albany for 75 years of service

This was written in November when we purchased the car, yet Yelp somehow buried it. It says…read moresomething that I went looking for it months later to make sure our great experience was shared! We just purchased a used car from Quail Auto Sales and could not have had a better buying experience! We had been looking for a car for our son for a long time at numerous dealerships. Although there had been cars at other dealerships that we were interested in enough to purchase, we never found sales staff that made us feel comfortable that the information we were given was reliable. For us the car was important; but equally as important was feeling that we had gotten a fair deal and trusting that what we were buying was without hidden issues. This is why we purchased from John and Steve Aidala. Their dealership is locally owned and has been for many years. The Aidala's have been part of the Albany community and pride themselves in maintaining a superior standard of service and fair business practice. We saw the car online on a rainy Saturday 30 minutes prior to Quail Auto Sales closing for that day. My husband called to make sure that they were still open and that the car was on their lot. Their website said they were not open on Sundays and we knew that this Prius was a great find. John answered the phone and my husband asked if he could make it there 10 minutes before closing, could he still look at the car? John told him that the rain would make it difficult to really look at the car and he would be happy to meet him there the next day to show him the car, even though they aren't open on Sunday. Every single interaction after that was the same good customer service, fair dealings and just an over all good feeling purchasing a car from them. I will return again to buy from Quail Auto and have recommended them to friends and family.

Although the assigned person was very pleasant they gave us totally incorrect information about the vehicle warranty and also regarding some of the vehicle features. We did not realize the info we received was bad until we did our own research when we arrived back home. Prior to discovering the bad info we actually put a large deposit on the vehicle. Upon discovering the bad info we were going to call off the purchase but decided to go back to the dealership a few days later to speak to a Sales Manager. We made contact with a Sales Manager by the name of Walter. In short, he was honorable and outstanding! He listened to our issues and corrected the wrong feature info we were given and, more importantly, he agreed to honor the vehicle warranty that the original sales person had told us - as incentive for us to purchase the vehicle. He also assigned us a new Sales Representative by the name of Kia Smith. Kia was absolutely SUPER fantastic! She went over every feature detail, answered all of our related questions, and actually sat in the vehicle with us to demonstrate the features. Walter's high degree of integrity and Kia's truly outgoing personality and depth of knowledge saved the vehicle sale for the dealership. These two individuals are an absolute credit to their employer and we would not hesitate to purchase another vehicle from them in the future. This was our second vehicle purchase from this dealership and there will be more (but hopefully not for a while :))

But, I have kids and I'm used to the mess, so I said fine. -Told me I'm not allowed to test drive the car. -Got them to agree that test drives are OK but the car was on E and they refused to put gas in it. -Asked if I could drive 1,000 feet down the road to a Stewarts and turn around at least and they let me do that (refused to put gas in again). -SLIME: Was buying the car with cash, but they had me go back and talk to their finance guy about warrantees. Guy offered me a six year warranty I think it was. I think it was for about 5$4,800. I said no thanks and then he offered to give me "a special deal" for somewhere around $2,200. I had no intention of buying it regardless. But, it clearly showed he was trying to rip me off the entire time. - Go to pick up the car (on the day THEY told me it would be ready). They tell me they cleaned it 30 minutes ago and I'll need to sit on a plastic sheet for the entire day. - THAT DAY: The check engine light comes on. -I called up the dealership and they said, yeah I can bring it in, but they won't provide a loaner car, they're going to keep it an undetermined amount of time, and I can go rent a car. THE DAY I PICKED IT UP! -Calls and emails were had with the dealership and the general manager told me I could bring it in right away and they would instantly look at it. - Half a week or a week later after my son has brain surgery, I call on a Friday and speak with a sales manager. They were nice enough and told me to bring it in, they would instantly look at it for me and get me out of there. I VERY specifically confirmed this over the phone multiple times before ending the call. I need a vehicle to be available for my kid and I'm reassured multiple times I can come right in and they'll be expecting me. - I leave my child who just had brain surgery a few days ago to bring this car over and they tell me they refuse to look at it, and I can make an appointment for the end of next week. They will not be providing transportation and will be keeping it an undisclosed amount of time. I get it, in a business when you're buying something and you're dealing with five or six different people, there might be a mess up. However, there was literally NOT A SINGLE positive thing or even neutral (it went ok) step in the entire process. *Not counting the last phone call I had where it seemed to go well and I found out it was all a lie and I left my child for nothing to waste my time for their apparent amusement. - Been telling everyone I know. Not that it matters to them, but I was able to prevent one sale when my stepfather was looking for a car so minor victory for me, I guess. -Filing with the State Attorney General for what good that will do and now I have to spend time and effort on small claims court.

Care One, which I've never had any issues with before, passed inspection and I was out the door within an hour. A week later the check engine light came on. I brought the car back the evening before my new appointment, and they didn't even look at it for 24 hours. They are now claiming that the check engine issue couldn't possibly have anything to do with anything they did just a week earlier. They are also now telling me that I need new tires, despite not recommending them just a week ago, which makes me wonder if the tires were even inspected the first time as required by law. For Car two, I arrived for a 7AM appointment. At about 8:30 I was told the car wouldn't be looked at until at least 11:00, and was offered a shuttle to work. OK - fine. I called at 12:30 for an update and was told the car still wasn't looked at. Finally at 3:00 I was told that I needed new tires to pass inspection, and that the car would be done at the end of the day. Unfortunately, the shuttle stopped at 3:00, so I had to take an Uber back. Today I found out that my tread depth was 2/32. Which means that new tires were a good idea, but not required to pass inspection. So I was scammed out of $1000 for new tires, which would have cost significantly less elsewhere.
