Great little ice cream shop! We LOVED being able to create our own cookie sandwich. There were so many flavors to choose from, and we were able to sample as many as we wanted, and our server was great! The shop is small but very very cute!
What can I say except I'm obsessed with their ice cream sandwiches!!! The mini was the perfect 4 bite size for dessert and the classic chocolate chip cookie and vanilla ice cream cannot be beat in my opinion. My partner got the cookies and cream option and he joked that it was cookies on cookies . There were vegan options as well and know for their of gluten free options! There's street parking on Hastings in front of the shop, saw many people park, pick up and leave every 5 minutes. They were playing 2010 Justin Bieber pop when I walked in and I would still return for their ice cream sandwiches!
Tasty dog themed hipster ice cream shop by Nanaimo and Hastings. Parking is available in front, as well as the side streets. The venue doesn't have any tables. There are a couple of benches by the entrance, and some padded seats along the windows. Staff are friendly and helpful. I had a mini ice cream sandwich. Pretty tasty, but quite pricey for what is basically a small scoop of ice cream. Served with 2 biscuits (wafers?) sideways. The mini sandwich looked like Princess Leia. Looks like this place does ice cream flights too, which sounds interesting.
Went on a Friday afternoon on a hot summer day with no line. We got the Canadian and Salted Peanut ice cream sandwiches. The cookies for both had a decent crunch to them and the ice cream was good. I think I would prefer a different filling that's more contrasting as it was very good but didn't blow me away. It was a bit on the sweet side for my personal preference but also what I expected. I liked how there were many vegan options and the number of combinations available in choosing your sandwich flavors.
While the concept is good, I just did not think the ice cream or cookies were delicious. I loved the ambiance and service but the thing that mattered, the food, just did not meet my expectations. Street parking is available. The place itself is quite small with only a few bar seats and couple of tables for dine in. Maybe I need to pick better flavours next time? But I have had better vegan ice cream elsewhere so this would not be my top pick if that was what I was going for.
Love how this shop provides so many different types of ice cream bases - dairy, chickpea, coconut and fruit - so that it can be enjoyed by people with food allergies. I had a small cup of lemon meringue with a coconut base and it was sublime! My son enjoyed an ice cream sandwich with mint chocolate chip filling. The staff working last night were so friendly and helpful - offering us multiple samples so that we could find the flavor that was the best for us. I tried the chocolate peanut butter which was good but a bit too sweet for my liking; then I compared the vanilla chickpea with the vanilla bean dairy - both delicious and creamy; I settled on the lemon meringue because I loved the blend of sweet and tangy. The shop is cute with lots of seating available and we saw a steady flow of customers the entire time we were there. Will definitely return for another scoop.
This place is so cute and so good. Not cheap but worth the price, their portion sizes are great. So many unique combinations of ice cream sandwiches. Amazing. Freshly baked cookies and delicious ice cream. I got the Canadian, which is oatmeal cookies and Maple Walnut ice cream. Excellent customer service too!

The shop was empty when we went in and were quickly greeted by the staff. They're known for gluten-free ice cream sandwiches and sell them both individually (full-size or mini) and as a flight of 3 (mini). We opted to get the mini flight and add another mini sandwich to make 4 in total. You can also create your own ice cream and cookie combos but we opted for the pre-made sets and went with the Classic, Lil' Tart, Fairytale, and Sweet Tea. They have limited seating inside but since we went in the summer they had plenty of seats - both in their backyard "secret" patio and out front on the sidewalk. In terms of the food, I was a little overwhelmed. The ice cream itself was pretty good but the cookies left a lot to be desired - all of them were quite brittle/hard and I think the key to a great ice-cream sandwich is a soft cookie, but that could be just my own preference! This spot isn't my favourite but if you're gluten-free/vegan you might find this spot super dietary-restriction-friendly!
Checked out Innocent Ice Cream after having dinner nearby. They have vegan ice cream options as well as gluten free ice cream sandwiches. You can get a full sized ice cream sandwich or mini ones too. Or you can even get the mini ones in a flight! I had the peanut butter cookie with salted caramel ice cream. The cookies were nice and slightly chewy and the ice cream was good. I love that you can make your own combination of cookies and ice cream too.
The hubs surprised me with mini ice cream sandwiches knowing that innocent ice cream is my guilty pleasure. Sure enough I LOVED it! I loved the regular sized ice cream sandwiches but I love this even more. The mini size allows you to really enjoy teach of he flavours and not feel guilty about having too many full sized sandwiches. Innocent ice cream never disappoints!

This is my first time at their new location on Hastings but I have previously made a visit to their Main St location. They are known for their ice cream sandwiches and I decided to get the Canadian which was an oatmeal cookie and maple walnut ice cream. I love how we are able to sample the different flavours and the cookie was warm and just perfect when paired with the ice cream. Looking forward to paying more visits here now that it's a bit closer to me. Also lots of plant based options here! read more

As someone that has a gluten, egg and nut allergy, this place is IT for me. One of my all time favourite desserts in Vancouver. Cookies taste so good, soft and melts in your mouth. Not like other gluten free snacks. Located at the top of Main st. And they're closed on Tuesdays! read more
Ice cream sandwiches can't get much better, honestly! This is a nice and quick stop for a quick dessert. The ice cream is above average and the cookies (tried both oatmeal and peanut) are super chewy, yet firm enough to work in a sandwich. I'd only knock them a bit on price, but only because you'll finish your icecream super quick. Overall, it's in line when compared with other ice cream shops in the city. Outdoor seating both in front and in the back (inside bar is currently closed). They sometimes have dog treats too!! So go during dessert hours and you're bound to run into a pup or two read more

I've walked past this place so many times, but it's always been too early for ice cream, so today I made a special trip to finally try it. The menu is vast and I had a hard time deciding, but I finally settled on the Mo Mint. It was delicious and the perfect size. Perfect ice cream to cookie ratio! I will definitely return to try some of the other flavours. read more
Cute place along Main Street for ice cream sandwiches. They're located at the corner of 33rd and Main so not exactly close to other food places but definitely walkable. Visited on a Sunday evening and there was a tiny lineup (~5-10mins). My friends and I visited right after dinner so we only got their mini sandwiches (perfect size to satisfy the sweets craving after a big meal). Next time I'll aim to try their flight of 3 minis though - would recommend this as well to try the range of flavours and in smaller manageable bites! read more

Unicorn and ice cream, what all little girl dreams are made of. The unicorn aspect is extremely gimmicky but hey it got me to try it out so I guess it worked. They called it the "Mystic" but aside from some shiny edible rainbow pieces with the very small cookie "horn", it was basically a build your own ice cream sandwich. The Mixed Berry Ice Cream nestled between two Vanilla Sugar Cookies delivered quite close to expectations. The amount of ice cream to cookie ratio was almost perfect. For me, there was an abundance of ice cream to cookie which caused me wish I had a lot more cookie to deal with the creamy mess. Next time I'll definitely try the build your own option instead but It was decent for gluten free ice cream. It was definitely a tad on the pricey side for me but I'll return for the other options. read more

Innocent Ice Cream Parlour is a hidden gem and a must have if you're in the city. Not only are all of their ice cream sandwiches gluten free, but half of their ice cream flavours and all of their fresh baked cookies are vegan as well! I had the chance to try three of their fresh baked cookies and three of their ice creams. My pairings were oatmeal cookies with strawberry shortcake nice cream, vanilla sugar cookies with lemon meringue nice cream, and double chocolate cookies with cappuccino nice cream -- all vegan and all delicious! Both the cookies and the ice cream were the best I've ever had. They've nailed every flavour to a T, and in my book, have created the perfect vegan cookie; soft, chewy, and pairs perfectly with a cold dessert! This has become my go to place for a vegan treat, and I look forward to trying even more flavours! read more

I never had such a nice cookie in an Ice Cream Sandwich till now! Came here for the 'Mystic' Unicorn Ice Cream sandwich but also got a trio with friends to try other things. Their cookies are ABSOLUTELY the best (of course so is their ice creams!). For the 'Mystic', the lemon sugar cookie was soft and crumbles so nicely in my mouth! The mixed berry ice cream was full of sparkling crunchy sprinkles. I used the Unicorn's Horn as a little ice cream spoon so it was as useful as it was tasty. Other things that are really good are the double chocolate cookie ice cream pairing. They offer mini sizes also which is the perfect size for after dinner! There's no indoor seating for now but I had no problem eating while walking around on a hot day. They also have little spoons when asked if you want to eat elegantly Will come back again! read more

I love the concept of an ice cream sandwich made with fresh cookies with options for the ice cream. We came in a group of 4 on a hot summer evening to sample the wares of this relatively new storefront establishment. Innocent Ice Cream is on Main St just north of 33rd taking over the space where a coffee house was. There is plenty of free street parking in and around the area. There is limited seating in the front and a few tables in the rear and you will probably need seating if you order the regular size. I like that one has several options for both cookies and ice cream and one can smell the cookies being made. I ordered the double chocolate cookie with salted caramel ice cream. It is served in a paper cup cake liner type bowl with a small spoon. The regular size is quite large in terms of the depth of ice cream and it can be difficult to get a full bite in so we all alternated between eating and using the spoon. I liked my combination of cookie and ice cream and did sample other selections in our group...all were quite tasty. I did find it a little pricey for the product at $6.95 for a regular or a flight of 3 mini's at $7.95. The service was okay and I understand that as the staff have to shape the ice cream to fit between the cookies, this will take the staff more time that placing ice cream on a cone (say at Earnest). It was a very unique and positive food experience and glad we had an opportunity to experience it but we have no plans on returning. read more
This is a new place where the old "Little Mountain Coffee" shop used to me on Main street near 33rd. Asacia, owner, is super friendly and warm. She mentioned she started with an ice cream cart, then got a food truck and now this store front. There is a small patio in the back to enjoy your treats. They have mini sandwiches, regular ice cream sandwiches, vegan ice cream, regular ice cream and coffee. We order the vegan coffee, vegan chocolate mint and cherry bomb ( dark chocolate and wild berry ). They were so good. The vegan coffee was rich and smooth. The cherry bomb was fruity and to die for. The chocolate mint was a good blend as the mint didn't overpower the chocolate. She makes her own little cookies to make the sandwiches and the combination she provided was outstanding. Today she was out of the mini sandwiches so she decided to create the sandwiches with the ice cream. if definitely come back, not because I'm close by but it is that good. .. UPDATE: they weren't out of ice cream sandwiches, it was just the maple walnut ice cream that they were out. You can have a single mini sandwich or a flight of 3. read more

The ice cream sandwiches here are soooo good and I love that the cookies are gluten free. They also have plenty of vegan options as well. I got a mini flight if 3 to share with my fam and treated my dog Hershey to a "pupsicle". So adorable!!! The staff here is extremely friendly and they have an adorable little patio out front. read more

We stopped by for ice cream over the weekend. We ended up getting two scoops of ice cream and a kids cone. The quality of the ice cream is top notch and it was actually really cold ice cream. I have been to other places where the ice cream was too soft for the summer heat. The kids cone was the perfect size for a toddler. I did not get to try their ice cream sandwiches because I did not feel like eating any cookies during the heat wave. read more
As far as gluten free ice cream goes, this was my first and it was ok. The pumpkin pie ice cream had a good mouth feel, but wasn't as creamy as dairy based ones. I liked the use of coconut milk. While it reminded me of pumpkin pie with actual pie bits in it, the spice level could have been amped up. The cone had a nice crunch, but it was a bit off putting because it was white instead of the usual brown I'm used to from a waffle cone. It was kind of like an albino waffle. For those who can't enjoy dairy based ice cream, and I feel for you, this would probably be a good alternative. read more
I have to say, I really was not expecting to enjoy this ice cream as much as I did! Housekeeping first: Patio - yes the do. The have one in the rear and a seating area in the front. Debit - yup! Take home - they do but I have to be honest I wasn't paying much attention. So I ordered the double chocolate ice cream sandwich and BOY was it good! The ice cream was chocolate and it was rich and creamy, so creamy. While to cookie was soft and crisp which held together nicely. I was more than pleasantly surprised and am looking forward to trying more flavours. Sorry, I wasn't paying attention to what flavours, think there was at least 12. Delicious little ice cream sandwiches! I love that you can get a flight of different flavours, and the small sandwich size means you can really go for variety. The cookies they make for the sandwiches are good in their own right, and are paired quite well with the ice cream too if you go with their standard flavours! I especially like the salty peanut ice cream. It's a small location, but the staff are friendly and it wasn't too busy when I went. Definitely a fun little place to try, especially if you're looking for good quality ice cream sandwiches. read more
I've been wanting to try this place for a while after hearing a lot about it. I just love their banner with the dog in front it's so cute. They have a bunch of icecream sandwiches already paired up for you to choose from or you can make your own. I decided to go for the sweet tea it was with matcha icecream with the vanilla sugar cookie. They have two sizes to choose from. Mini or regular. I chose the mini size and it was the perfect amount for me. The matcha icecream was really creamy & delicious. The cookie was tasty too! It was a great combination. I been wanting to come in to their new store front but every time I tried I couldn't find parking. Yesterday was the day, I guess it was meant to be we found parking right in front of the store. Surprisingly no line ups, the store was empty late afternoon on a hot Saturday. We didn't mind. I tried a sample of the matcha. And decided to get the flight of three mini ice cream sandwiches. 1. Classic (chocolate chip cookie and vanilla bean ice cream). 2. Matcha ice cream with double chocolate cookie. 3. Salted Caramel ice cream with peanut butter cookie. I loved the match it was my favourite, side note Ive been on a matcha kick lately. I also liked getting the flight because it made me try other flavours. My husband tried the regular Electric chocolate chip cookie and coffee ice cream. We both enjoyed it but it was massive and it became messy. So I highly recommend getting the mini, you can eat it fast before it melts. Love the idea of fresh cookies but with it not being frozen you better eat fast! Quite honestly, their ice cream isn't really anything standout or special, although it is good. The texture is nice and creamy, and all of their flavours are quite delicious. However, the cookies are lovely and chewy and very, very good. I got the salty peanut (peanut butter cookie, salted caramel ice cream) and the mo-mint (double chocolate cookie and mint chip ice cream). The peanut butter cookie was fantastic, while the double chocolate cookie was okay, but not quite as good in my opinion. I will say though that the peanut butter cookies kind of overpowered the salted caramel ice cream. The mini ice cream sandwiches are pretty pricey, at $2.95 per piece and considering their small size - your best bet is to go for the flight of 3 for $7.95. They also have some ice cream flavours that are not part of their pre-made sandwich options, so you can customize your own cookie and ice cream combo.
