This is a review for the restaurant at Inness, which was a pleasant surprise within the small town of Accord. We stumbled upon the restaurant while looking for a lunch spot, and were amazed by the views and ambiance of the establishment! The outsoor seating looked amazing next to the rolling hills surrounding the hotel. In terms of food, everything was quite tasty. My personal favorite was the pancake with fruits and marscapone. Items were similar to quality to those found in NYC, although prices are also similar. Service was very prompt, and our water cups were constantly filled. This is definitely worth checking out if in the area.

I was really impressed by Inness, and now I'm looking into booking a stay at their hotel after an amazing brunch experience. I stayed in the area for New Years and could not find a brunch place last minute. I called Inness and asked about availability, they had 15 minute wait. We waited in their beautiful and cozy lounge area with a fire place and amazing views on nature (imagine that in warmer seasons!). Our table was available quickly and we got seated. Staff there was really sweet and it made such a huge difference seeing that they are pet friendly and had several customers with little dogs Food at Inness was definitely worth the visit and worth for a return! Everything on the menu was carefully curated, showcasing a delightful fusion of flavors that elevate the brunch dining to a whole new level. Local flavors and produce, seasons items, it was all delish! I highly recommend the french toast Please come here, stay at their hotel and eat here!!

We had an outstanding dinner here. We got the bread & butter, stracciatella with figs and tomatoes, trout rilletes, mafaldini with chicken sugo, rigatoni with tomato and basil, carrots with ricotta, and two desserts (chocolate budino and blondie with vanilla ice cream). All three starters were outstanding, especially that stracciatella dish, which had great tomatoes and really amazing fresh figs. Both pastas were great too -- my wife preferred the mafaldini, but I really loved the rigatoni. On the desserts, I thought the budino was good, but the blondie was incredible, and the ice cream complemented it perfectly. We also stayed at the hotel, which was really amazing.

Tuna tartare with capers - really tasty

Pleasantly surprised by the food. Reminded me of food I ate in Italy - tasty because simply made but with quality ingredients. Really liked the tuna tartare. I am a sucker for capers so this was great. Also beautifully presented. The pasta con la bottarga (with fish roe) was very delicious, perfect texture with a little bit of citrusy flavor to balance the fish roe. The pizza diavola also tasted great - salami was v pork-y. Would have been better if it wasn't burnt. Marinara pizza was also good though I would stick with the wheat dough next time instead of the cauliflower crust which was almost like a flat bread. For lunch, the quiche and the prosciutto cotto tartine were both good. Menu is small so I might not want to eat there multiple days in a row. Dog friendly = a huge plus!

This resort, 9 hole golf course and spa is not fully completed as of this writing. There are organic gardens, hotel rooms, simply decorated with a spa and an outdoor bistro with smokers and grills. I was privy to the eating experience here. So I will not comment on the golf course, rooms or spa. As mentioned they are taking reservations at reduced prices. As per my dining here: we arrived for lunch, al fresco dining. To order one must go online. Food is then paid for and someone from the smoker and grilling area will serve it to you. A very nice presentation. I had skewered chicken with bulgar salad on pita bread. Amazing views with an amazing sunset overlooking 200+ acres bordering on the Catskills in the Hudson Valley.

a group of people sitting at tables in a restaurant

We love Inness' restaurant. We have been there a few times, but today, it was packed, and the service was terrible. We made a reservation and were seated at a table that had food crumbs on the floor. I kept my purse on my lap because the floor was too dirty. We waited for 15 minutes until a waitress came, and the poor girl was so rushed that as soon as we said tap water and ordered a couple of cocktails, she ran away from our table, leaving my husband with the words hanging. He had to stop her to order sourdough bread. The bread came without the preserves. She left running again. Then, she returned and asked, "Do you know what you want?" My husband said yes, and we ordered the food, including the preserves. She ran away again, threw the preserves on the table, and left. His food came first. My simple salad came later. My salad was crunched on a small plate. So small that I wasn't able to cut the lettuce. We were laughing. We ate, paid, and left. Please, please, hire more people for the weekend. Do not sacrifice the quality of the service for a few bucks. We love love INNESS for its relaxing atmosphere and quality.

We were looking for an all inclusive to take my mom for a girls weekend and I just stumbled upon…read morethis place not knowing that it was insanely popular and also not aware that there was a mystery weekend. Once I booked it and asked around I realized that Mohonk has a huge following especially for the mystery weekend. I was excited to also learn that there was an Edward Gorey art exhibit! 2&1/2 hours from my house, not a bad drive! Check in time was at 4:00 but we got there early so they stored our luggage and said that they would deliver it to our room and call us when it was ready. We got a quick bite in the bar area which was not included in the weekend but we were starving! Then we looked around and went to a healing bowl meditation in the spa area. It was so relaxing, a great start to the weekend. They called us to come get our key and we went up to the room. It was Victorian looking with a balcony that had rocking chairs and 2 beds. Very pretty. The bathroom was big and had a walk in shower. It think it was a handicapped room. I didn't request one but when I called to make the reservation I inquired about how difficult it would be for a person to get around with a walker so perhaps they took the hint. The resort was massive!! And also beautiful to look at inside and out. It was also extremely clean with fresh flowers all over the place and little nooks to sit in to look outside and take in the views. The mystery weekend was so much fun. It was a play in 4 parts and by Sunday at 10 am you had to submit your guess as to "whodunnit". Just like a real life game of clue. There was also a thick packet of puzzles and games to try to solve by looking all over the hotel at the artwork to solve them. We ended up skipping that packet because we wanted a more relaxing experience. We did participate in the tabletop escape room which was really fun. We also skipped an afternoon tea on Saturday that let you interact with the characters and ask them questions to help try to solve the murder mystery. Instead we went to the spa for 2 different meditation classes. We repeated the sound bowl from the day before and also took another one which was part lecture and part meditation. I think we were supposed to choose between the mystery weekend and the regular stay which included the classes because there was so much to do besides participating in the mystery activities that we couldn't get to any other resort activities without skipping the mystery activities. We loved the mystery activities but decided that next time we would go for a relaxing spa type of stay. As far as the food, it was delicious and a lot of it! There was breakfast, brunch/lunch and dinner. We opted out of the breakfast and went to brunch both days which was a buffet with breakfast and lunch options. There were also stations to get freshly made food such as pasta, waffles, carving stations and a whole dessert area. The food was definitely upscale. For dinner it was a sit down with a waiter and a 3 course meal. The dinners took forever! First came the bread which was freshly baked and amazing, then we ordered the appetizer and the entire. The appetizers took a long time to come out but the entree took at least 45 min to arrive both nights. On Friday night we had to be at the first installment of the murder mystery play at 9:00 and our dinner came at 8:50! We took a few bites and had to leave. They were nice enough to tell us to stop back later to pick up our dessert to eat in the room. I enjoyed the brunch more than the dinners to be honest, the fish dish I had one night was extremely bland. Second night, same snafu but we did not have to be anywhere at 9pm so we stuck it out. If there were 1/2 stars this place would rate a 4&1/2 in my book. The 1/2 being taken because of the dinners and the price of the weekend. Now that I am on the mailing list, they are sending me some better deals and specials. I'll definitely be back to take advantage of those!

It's one of those rare spots where you can actually hear yourself relax while soaking in the beauty of nature. The meals? Sublime. I'm still thinking about them. The activities and staff? Absolutely fantastic. We did archery today, and Dylan, the director, made me feel like a slightly clumsy but very enthusiastic woodland hero. So much fun! And of course, the labyrinth rock scramble--with the iconic Fat Man's Misery and Lemon Squeeze--was an adventure I'll be bragging about until someone makes me stop. Truly a blast. All in all, it's worth every penny of the splurge. Cheers to everyone who treats themselves--you deserve it!

Our room 9 had the sweetest, all-around views from the multiple windows both in our corner room & in the bathroom of all the greenery, flowers & lawns. Although breakfast is no longer offered as part of the room rate, we were "grandfathered in" by the super amenable, welcoming head chef, who, in large part, is the engine behind the hotel's managing group, because our room had been booked when the breakfast plan was still in existence. Our breakfasts were presented beautifully & by servers who were super friendly & engaging, as is the rest of the staff here. The pool had not yet been filled for the summer, so we enjoyed sunning on the pool deck, the sweet sauna, walks to the lake down below the property, played shuffleboard, billiards in the way-downstairs which has stone walls, low ceilings, a wine closet, board games & game table, as well as darts. The first floor library is cozy, filled with couches, upholstered chairs, books, coloring books & colored pencils & the in-house restaurant offers 3 meals a day, either in the beautifully outfitted & sunny dining room or on the back patio, alongside a rain barrel, herb garden, smoke house, fire pit & the grassy lawns. The owners & the hotel's hospitality group are working on upgrading & updating the facilities & its offerings & we applaud them for their efforts & plans. We are glad that we could fully enjoy this welcoming, beautiful old stone home & its equally welcoming staff. AND, we thank the head chef for the bottle of Prosecco that he gifted us! P.S. I think I saw someone moving a rolling chicken coop from one part of the property to another!

Bait and Switch; Safety Issues; Non-responsive…read more In early November, our group stayed at one of their properties and found that the description and photographs were not accurate. We also reported safety issues directly to the listing agent and have still not received a response from the company. I would caution anyone who is considering renting from HVLR. I initially found the property and booked it through Air BnB. Hudson Valley Luxury Resorts then cancelled the listing and requested that I book directly through their website, offering a discount. I had no other option since they had cancelled on their end and there were no other properties available for our desired time and location. Since cancelling our stay, they have since re-listed the property on Air BnB, for which there are no reviews available. The listing described a 'unparalleled escape for those seeking luxury, privacy, and natural beauty' and 'historic property has been meticulously updated to offer the perfect blend of old-world charm and modern amenities.' Neither of these statements are accurate. Just before check-in, the host called us to let us know that the house was historic and had some quirks. This was the first indication that the property was not what was advertised. Over the four nights we stayed, we found the following issues: 1. Inaccessible first floor half bath due to missing doorknobs. 2. Three of the upstairs bathrooms did not have fully functional showers or hot water. In the first bathroom, the tub drain was clogged and the shower curtain was not big enough to enclose the tub. Additionally the faucet leaked from the handles when it was turned on. In the second bathroom, the shower head did not function at all. In the third bathroom, one sink did not have any hot-water. 3. None of the upstairs bedrooms had functioning wall switches and most of the wall sconces were missing lightbulbs. Two light fixtures had faulty wiring evidenced by the intermittent flickering of the lights. 4. One upstairs bedroom had a broken doorknob, which meant you had to leave the door cracked or else be locked in/out. 5. Multiple windows had visible gaps open to the outside and few radiators actually worked. We were told to keep the thermostat at 67 degrees the entire time, which made for a very uncomfortable stay. 6. Flaking paint and torn rugs created a hazard for the toddlers and kids in our group. This brings us to the safety concerns: There wasn't a single working smoke alarm or carbon monoxide detector in the house. We checked the existing devices and none of them responded to the test button or indicated they had power. The host told us we could use the fireplace as long as we kept it small (3 logs or fewer). With the flue open, a 2 log fire smoked out the entire first floor. It was only then we noticed the absence of any fire safety monitors. With two young children in the group, we immediately reported the issue to the host who said they "will check on that". I also reported these issues immediately to Ryan, the listing agent. I also tried the generic "info@hudsonvalleyluxuryresorts.com" email. After 72 hours we haven't received an acknowledgement. The icing on the cake was that my toddler found a used condom near the side door as we were checking out. Aside from the safety issues, I still would have been willing to rent if the listing was accurate and the price reflected a drafty, historic home with 3 of 7 usable showers, and hit-or-miss electricity.

Poor quality, poor customer service…read more Cute in theory, horrible execution. Felt like a true crappy motel and I feel robbed at $300+/night. Cons: - shower gets COLD quickly and when the toilet is flushed - loud traffic noise (large trucks use the road all night) - room is dark - no front desk service - mildew/mold in bathroom grout and on ceilings - improper room booking - poor business ethics, refusal to own up to their error Pros: - room included coffee, milk, and popcorn - room had mini-split A/C We booked a two night stay as part of a wedding block. No one picked up the phone and it took three attempts across two days to make a reservation, which we made over three months ahead. In the call they asked if we wanted two beds or one king. We told them we had two kids so we definitely wanted two beds. They let us know they only had one room with two beds- great, yes we want to book that room. They told us the differing rates of the rooms and we confirmed that we wanted the double bed room. I didn't get a confirmation email at the time (which I chalked up to their lack of a typical front desk/reception person). ETA: they did finally send a confirmation email one week before we arrived, but we had already left for our trip by that point. Fast forward to three months later... When we arrive, turns out they've put us in a room with just one king bed. There's no "front desk" so you have to text for service. The solution was to offer us a crappy twin air mattress (with sheets only, no comforter??). We still have 4 people... so that meant three of us in one bed aka no sleep (add on the noisy road traffic... they clearly didn't spring for noise insulation in their remodeling). How do they not even have cots?? The air mattress deflated through the night (as cheap ones do). They also clearly didn't upgrade their plumbing; the shower gets cold after 5 minutes and when people flush the toilet. There is no ventilation in the bathroom so there is mold/mildew on the ceiling. Our bathroom sink had a huge gap of cracked caulk and the vinyl plank flooring in the room was bumpy and uneven. Basically this whole place screams cheap DIY remodel and is a total rip off at more than $300/night. The worst part of this experience is that they refused to own up to their mistake. I knew from our phone conversation that they only had one room with two beds. Obviously I would not have booked a stay there if that room was not available. So either their booking person lied to me about its availability OR they forgot to reserve that room for us. Their response to my complaint was "we can refund you but we'll have to charge the bride who had the block." What?? Rather than admit their error and try to rectify their mistake, they want to penalize a third party? Because they chose not to have real staff that is trained to properly make a room reservation? Garbage service.
