Very quaint lodge in the Gunks. Amazing breakfast spread and beautiful views. Very clean and cozy. Employees and new owner are very kind and assist to your needs. Definitely would recommend solo or otherwise. I am so comfortable and relaxed, which was much needed, I decided to extend my stay!

View from our balcony at the ridge, late evening.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming, peaceful and quiet lodge. Wonderful view out the back towards the mountain ridge; with a delightful staff and engaging owner. They went above and beyond making us feel welcome and appreciated!

It was great vacationing here. The staff was informative and friendly. They had a fire pit that was lit every night from 6pm to about 11pm, which was awesome if you didn't have anything to do at night, but still wanted to enjoy the night before going to bed. It was very serene and quiet, if you're looking for that in a vacation than this is the spot. There is a convenient and restaurant store walking distance from the lodge, which is cool. I will definitely be coming back here again.

My wife and I took a trip upstate recently just to get away for a few days. We decided to go with minnewaska lodge because it seemed a little nicer than the normal hotels on the highway. Overall the hotel and staff were great. The rooms were nice and the lodge had a warm feeling to it. My only small gripe is I wish it had a couple more amenities, maybe a pool or gym perhaps? However the free cookies and coffee in the lobby were excellent! Breakfast was very good and consisted of hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, cereals, muffins etc. Lots to choose from, and very good coffee too! We were supposed to stay longer but had a family emergency. A big thank you to Tammy and Rebecca who let us check out early and recuperate most of our money, it meant a lot to us. The surrounding towns are fairly quiet but the preserve and mountains seem like they would be great to adventure out on, as we only got to see them partially, due to the icy paths. Very good hotel :)

Ugly fake climbing holds attached to a beautiful ancient cliff

I can't believe that this place would detract from the beautiful natural surroundings by allowing employees to secure artificial climbing holds to a natural cliff. Seems antithetical to the purpose of visiting a place like this. I would hope that they would show better ethics and valued that this

The lodge is has amazing scenery that you view as you pull into parking lot with mountains just past the rear of lot. The lodge itself offers breakfast and a nice place to meet and chit chat with fellow visitors each morning. The rooms are spacious and clean. Great place for a romantic getaway or just a quiet time vacation. We brought our 3 boys and they had a great time as well. Every night thy light up 2 gas fire pits and even offer s'mores. The state park is about 3 miles away with swimming and numerous trails of different difficulties. There's also an amazing waterfall there. If you need food or dining, you only need to drive 6 miles to the nearest town and they have loads of neat small specialty shops and restaurants. The lodge itself has fast WiFi (but you won't be using it on this getaway). The only negative, if you take it as a negative, is the lodge itself is aged. It has aged well from what we witnessed. I recommend staying here if you are in the area!

We stumbled on the Inn at the Ridge through some Google searching. We only spent two nights, Friday and Saturday, so we were treated to Sal's weekend cooking. Easily among the best food at a B&B that we've ever had. When I booked, I didn't realize that I had booked the one room with a disconnected bathroom. Yes, it's private, but downstairs. Since the Inn wasn't completely full, they offered to relocate us to another open room, we didn't ask, they just suggested it. The house is old, like real old, so expect some quirks like wide creaky floors etc. The beds were quiet though, which was the important thing. Each room is uniquely decorated. The Inn is a nice distance from busy areas but not so far as to be a hardship. It's extremely close to Angry Orchard's Innovation cider mill, a state park with great trails, and even a little college town. I could probably go on, but Yelp's review editor is giving me issues. We'd definitely stay here again if we're in the area.

Our room was very comfortable with a king-sized bed. The location was perfect - close to Minnewaska state park, as well as several nearby towns and a few good restaurants. The breakfasts were the highlight of the experience! One of the hosts is a CIA-trained chef and he made fabulous food for us - chocolate-stuffed french toast, a great frittata, and more. They serve breakfast at a communal table, which is nice for getting to talk to the other guests there. We would definitely stay here again.

And of course, the best host was Clair (retriever) who followed us everywhere, toured us around the farm and even came in the morning to wake up my son with kisses. We stayed in Mr. Ed's Annex, which had a nice little kitchen (they supply most of the basics in terms of pots/pans/utensils, so don't feel like you need to lug a bunch of kitchen stuff with you) and an awesome steam shower in the bathroom. The bed was super comfy and the space as a whole was nice and cozy. There was a little backyard area overlooking the horse pen with a grill and hammock, but given that mid-March is peak mud season and rather chilly, we did not put that area to use. The chickens, goat, and dogs greeted us whenever we went outside. The goat took a shine to both of us as evidenced by his insistence upon gently headbutting us when we pet him. Up by the main house there is a hot tub, which we used twice - so relaxing! We definitely would come back again!

I stayed at the cottage, which came with its own patio, and had a kitchen, living space with a large TV, comfortable queen bed, and clean bathroom. I highly recommend it. I initially thought it was too much space for me and the dog, but it turned out to be great. Lots of space for the dog to roam around when it started to rain and it had a beautiful, bucolic environment. I also chose this inn for the breakfast, and Bernetta did not disappoint. She makes everything by hand and you can tell how fresh it is. I was welcomed with two homemade and delicious chocolate chip cookies. She offered two types of coffee, a flavored coffee and a regular one, and breakfast came with a freshly baked good. I stayed for two days. Saturday had a savory breakfast, and Sunday had a sweet one. Both were delicious. To highlight how fresh everything was, Bernetta had chosen fresh apples local to the area for the sweet Sunday breakfast. Bernetta is also an excellent host. She offered great tips and restaurant and activity recommendations. She's easy to talk to and went out of her way to make my dog and I feel comfortable. Once I booked it and asked around I realized that Mohonk has a huge following especially for the mystery weekend. I was excited to also learn that there was an Edward Gorey art exhibit! 2&1/2 hours from my house, not a bad drive! Check in time was at 4:00 but we got there early so they stored our luggage and said that they would deliver it to our room and call us when it was ready. We got a quick bite in the bar area which was not included in the weekend but we were starving! Then we looked around and went to a healing bowl meditation in the spa area. It was so relaxing, a great start to the weekend. They called us to come get our key and we went up to the room. It was Victorian looking with a balcony that had rocking chairs and 2 beds. Very pretty. The bathroom was big and had a walk in shower. It think it was a handicapped room. I didn't request one but when I called to make the reservation I inquired about how difficult it would be for a person to get around with a walker so perhaps they took the hint. The resort was massive!! And also beautiful to look at inside and out. It was also extremely clean with fresh flowers all over the place and little nooks to sit in to look outside and take in the views. The mystery weekend was so much fun. It was a play in 4 parts and by Sunday at 10 am you had to submit your guess as to "whodunnit". Just like a real life game of clue. There was also a thick packet of puzzles and games to try to solve by looking all over the hotel at the artwork to solve them. We ended up skipping that packet because we wanted a more relaxing experience. We did participate in the tabletop escape room which was really fun. We also skipped an afternoon tea on Saturday that let you interact with the characters and ask them questions to help try to solve the murder mystery. Instead we went to the spa for 2 different meditation classes. We repeated the sound bowl from the day before and also took another one which was part lecture and part meditation. I think we were supposed to choose between the mystery weekend and the regular stay which included the classes because there was so much to do besides participating in the mystery activities that we couldn't get to any other resort activities without skipping the mystery activities. We loved the mystery activities but decided that next time we would go for a relaxing spa type of stay. As far as the food, it was delicious and a lot of it! There was breakfast, brunch/lunch and dinner. We opted out of the breakfast and went to brunch both days which was a buffet with breakfast and lunch options. There were also stations to get freshly made food such as pasta, waffles, carving stations and a whole dessert area. The food was definitely upscale. For dinner it was a sit down with a waiter and a 3 course meal. The dinners took forever! First came the bread which was freshly baked and amazing, then we ordered the appetizer and the entire. The appetizers took a long time to come out but the entree took at least 45 min to arrive both nights. On Friday night we had to be at the first installment of the murder mystery play at 9:00 and our dinner came at 8:50! We took a few bites and had to leave. They were nice enough to tell us to stop back later to pick up our dessert to eat in the room. I enjoyed the brunch more than the dinners to be honest, the fish dish I had one night was extremely bland. Second night, same snafu but we did not have to be anywhere at 9pm so we stuck it out. If there were 1/2 stars this place would rate a 4&1/2 in my book. The 1/2 being taken because of the dinners and the price of the weekend. Now that I am on the mailing list, they are sending me some better deals and specials. I'll definitely be back to take advantage of those!

My husband and I got married here in November of 2022 after a patient two year waiting period after booking in 2020! We toured the premises and immediately saw the love and design that Sally and Doug put into creating this special place. We call our wedding a glorified thanksgiving dinner. It was centered around filling the four walls of the greenhouse space with long tables, family style service, and so much love. The Greenhouse was already so beautiful we barely chose to add anything to it for our ceremony. Some beautiful perks of this space include a TRULY pet friendly space, gratuities included in event pricing for ease, the venue is yours and your peoples for the whole weekend (none of that, "which wedding are you here from?"), a picturesque backdrop from all angles, and plenty of incredible vendors that know this space and stay passionate about working with them. I woke up on the morning of my wedding, had breakfast with my husband-to-be, and had the most relaxing and stress-free day knowing that I was seconds from my room in case I needed/forgot something and that I was already at my venue. There was a complete ease through the day-of-timeline and after the ceremony, we had returned to our room to sign the marriage license to find Audrey's staff even cleaned up our space and left us fresh chilled champagne and snacks from cocktail hour. We have yet to stop getting compliments from guests on the food, the drinks, and the customer service. I couldn't have asked for a better gift than getting to spend the money to have a wedding weekend here, to fully take our time with and absorb all of the love that surrounded us. THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts to the whole team.
