I just wanna dance! This studio is great. A bunch of young(ish) people get together and learn a dance routine taught by some real dancers. I have been taught by a man that majored in dance and a man that is in a dance company. Both were excellent and fun. Not everyone in the class has a dance background. Some catch on faster than others. Everyone has a ball trying to keep up! Don't worry. It's not too fast. You get a great work out and the steps are taught slow enough to learn, but fast enough to keep you interested the entire class. Oh, and the moves are quick enough to get your heart rate up and keep it up. Trust me! Get your hip-hop on during the Hip-Hop class, or Werq it and learn a routine combining Vogueing (fast hand and arm movements), Waacking (think sassy), Stiletto Fitness (think sexy), Hip-hop and House. All forms of dance are incredibly entertaining! Deducting one star because they don't have a water fountain anywhere. The bottle of water I bring to class, only lasts ONE class. Gotta stay hydrated. If I want to stay for the next class, I either have to bring 2 water bottles OR buy a small bottle of water for $1.00. Seriously not a fan of buying bottled water. read more

I recently signed up for the unlimited 30 days of ME classes for new members, which is reasonably priced at $39. After 2 weeks of not working out, my first ME class was the Cardio Express with Terry. HOLY HELL! He's really good, I mean really, props to the man. I was hurting that whole first week - a tell tale sign of an extremely good workout. 30 minutes of class and I was DYING after the first 5. I've never done P90X, but I would imagine the brutality is the same. I also took his Plyometrics class, which is similar to the Cardio Express, but it's prolonged for an hour. It definitely felt less intense than the 30 mins I endured the day before. His classes are painful, but awesome & very effective. Piyolet/Hip Hop Yoga - I LOVE this class! It's so relaxed compared to all the other cardio classes, nonetheless, it's still such a workout. Roslyn is the instructor and I love her - personality, demeanor & instruction. Combining pilates, yoga & ballet is genius and by far my favorite kind of workout. They sell her DVDs there at the studio, I may just have to pick one up and do it at home on the daily. My body feels AMAZING when I leave her class. Pardon me, but my ass is definitely going to get a lift from all the kicks & stretching we do. WIN! Zumba - I believe the instructor's name is Elizabeth. She is great! It was my first time taking a Zumba class ever, and it definitely met my expectations. Her high energy, good music, and incredible moves were not only fun to do, but it feels like you're getting a workout! It's so fun to let loose & dance around complete strangers. Everyone always has a smile on their face & it's not embarassing at all for any doubtful, prospective first timers. TRY IT! Overall, the studio is small - only two rooms. One is closed & designated for the pole dancing classes, the other is an open room for all the other ME & dance classes. When you walk in, there's the front desk with their friendly & helpful staff. Most of the time the owner, Nicole, is sitting there at the computer, greeting everyone. She is super sweet (& pretty!) - ha! I had to add that because my second day there she complimented me as I was signing in. Honestly, I enjoy this establishment very much. Everyone is cool and friendly. The classes are vigorous, fun and you always leave feeling great. The price for membership is surprisingly reasonable & beyond worth it. I will absolutely consider renewing my membership once my unlimited month is over. They say you'll find your inner strength, spirit, confidence, flexibility and for the ladies - your inner diva. I haven't worked out in a good long time and I'm not a fan of "gyms". This was a perfect way to get into shape and have fun. I used to dance a lot and this studio provides a great workout for beginners and advanced. THey have different variety of classes which makes it easier to try different ones out. My only con about it is that it is only in the evening on weekdays. No morning or afternoon classes. Currently trying out the unlimited monthly program for new clients for $39. I've been here for a over a year now, gone to all the different studios (Polelateaz, S-factor, Verticality, etc.), and this is by far the best pole studio in Houston. If you want to learn tricks and look awesome, this is the place to go. You'll definitely get a workout because the teachers work with you each class at your own pace. I had originally gone to this studio because it was cheaper, but I found out that the girls from this studio DO a lot more, very quickly. If you pole, expect bruises. It's not for everybody, but if it is and you want to be great, you will have to go to Inner Me. read more

I've been going to Inner Me for 6 or 7 months now and I always have a good time while there. I usually buy the 10 class packages for pole fitness because I know I'll keep going back. I think it takes 2-3 classes to really get the hang of the pole fitness classes and feel comfortable. Nicole, the owner, recently told me they've revamped some things so I believe they pay attention to what customers want based on feedback. I think Nicole and all of the staff there are really nice and helpful, including the receptionist . I've also tried a few of the other fitness classes like Boot Camp and Sexy Pole (where you learn a dance routine to go with your moves). If pole dancing isn't your thing, they have plenty of other options such as pi-yo-let, kickboxing, Zumba and contortion to name a few. I love this place! The classes are hard,but everyone is so encouraging. The attendees are young,old,black,white,fat, fit, and everything in between. I love how supportive the instructors are, and I love how small the classes are. I almost neglected to write a review because I don't want the numbers to increase LOL! I have only attended ME classes (no pole classes), and I've been very satisfied. The funnest classes I've been to so far are urban aerobics and nightclub cardio. The music is bumping and everyone is having a good old time. I recommend the classes to everyone from beginner to advanced if you want to sweat. Tips: There are no showers. There is one unisex bathroom and one tiny change room. If showers or large locker rooms are a necessity to you, please keep that in mind. Service: Wonderful! I love this place! I have taken the belly dance, Afro-Latin, and the Stiletto Fit classes there so far , so I will only review those. I particularly like the belly dance. For me, who had done belly dance for 10 years (and is rusty now), this class is not an advance level class, but for sure very enjoyable because of the teacher, Aisha's very awesome and authentic musicality and beautiful, elegant, classy folkloric style! I do sweat and smile in this class. The Afro-Latin class is sexy and sweaty, similar to Zumba, but sexier. Lots of hip movements and body isolation. The music ranges from pop, cha cha cha, reggaeton, and Kizomba. The Stiletto fit is SUPER sexy, so you will have to go with a very open mind. the teacher teaches a choreography every week to a pop song and you can choose whether or not you want to wear heels or not. Last week everyone wore them, this week none wore them, so it's pretty low pressure in terms of the shoes (as the title suggests!). The choreography is very elaborate and I can see it being a (good ad necessary) challenge for people who have never danced before. Overall, the price is good. Area is good, plenty of parking and restaurants. I would recommend this place to friends. The only thing I would say is that some of the moves from Afro-Latin and Stiletto fit are a little bit too flirty and sexy for me, but again, just for me. read more

I will be completely transparent and say first off that the owner of Inner Me is a close personal friend of mine; however, that isn't the reason for my review. I think Inner Me is a great place to get a workout. I visited more than I attended classes and I always heard everyone enjoying themselves. From the bootcamp-type workouts to the Private Pole Dancing parties, people have always come out of the class saying they have had a great experience. Nicole, the bootcamp instructor is tough, but she gets results and when people push through the pain, they are always happy with the results. You can tell that they want to see you succeed. I've been following this place for a while on instagram. I was excited to see they were offering a class for children. I signed up my little sister. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. However I was turned off by a small dog running around the waiting area. It was the dog of one of the ladies working there. I'm not sure what her exact role was. She had food set up for the dog and everything. The area was crowded with parents and the dog almost got stepped on because someone didn't see it because it was a small dog. If they have more classes for kids I will take my little sister back because she enjoyed it and I may attend a class myself but the dog was a definite turn off. read more

This place is that place that you go to release that sensual raw energy that we all have bottled up inside of us. I haven't been back in a while because of life and its ways, and I find myself missing the studio and most DEFINITELY the people of the studio. The energy of the place is positive and inviting. The staff; REALLY KNOWLEDGEABLE....and PATIENT. The only downfall I would say is the cleanliness at times, but even with that, the management is always implementing new ideas and trying new things to make the experience better for everyone. I attended a bachlorette party a couple of weeks ago... WE HAD A BLAST!!!! I will be returning. This was my kind of workout. As a former (20+ yrs ago) ballet, jazz, tap, drill team dancer I enjoyed the routines. I hate working out when I know that is what I am doing, but dancing always kept me fit. It was exciting. My friend gifted me an IMS hip hop class for my birthday. We were to learn a routine to Cardi B's Bodak Yellow. First let me say that I love any exotic aerobics class. I use to attend an exotic aerobic class in Missouri City for years and loved it. However, being a Heights resident and commuting to Missouri City 2x a week, the drive wasn't practical. So when I heard about Inner Me Studios and the many classes they have to offer, I was super excited about the gift. Pros: I love the Richmond Avenue location of the studio. Like I said, I live in the Heights. So you can't beat the location. The front desk attendant was very nice and friendly. And I love the different choices of classes being offered. Cons: I LOVE trap music...what can I say. When I heard there was a routine for Bodak Yellow, I couldn't wait to attend. It's so hard to find fitness instructors pairing classes to trap music these days LOL. There were two things that I didnt like about last night's class. 1) the dance routine was for an ADVANCED participant...NOT A BEGINNER!!! The entire routine was full of 1-count movements and it was extremely fast. Plus many of the required movements weren't practical for a newbie. For example, there was a segment of the song where you were asked to sit on the ground and literally flip your entire body over your head bearing your body weight on your shoulder. WTF??? The instructor modified that particular movement for those that couldn't or didn't want to try it. But again...why is this even asked of a newbie???!!! And half of the routine was on your knees hitting the floor. The class wasn't notified that knee pads were recommended until class begun LOL. And 2) the fitness room was TINY. There were at least 30 women in last night's class and we were all bumping into each other, kicking each other by accident or standing on somebody's hand. The instructor saw the problems we were having with space and began to break us up into smaller groups for practice. But again...it was kind of a mess and the discomfort took the fun out of it. Some people (including myself) stopped following the routine at a certain point. But (in all fairness) many continued in the discomfort and completed the routine. Would I go back? Ehhh...maybe. But not anytime soon. The front desk attendant stated that they're moving to a much bigger facility soon. So I might wait until then LOL. Otherwise, it would be wise to shop around before committing to IMS. Just my opinion. read more

Very friendly staff that went out of their way to accommodate me during my visit; the instructor kept the class interesting and fun with a loosely structured lesson that allowed for learning and free play. Great music too! The only reason i took off a star is because they don't offer choreoraphed pole dance classes which is my favorite thing. It is a great studio that fully justifies its name! I went to 3 Zumba classes with Spencer, 1 with Kacee and 2 stiletto fit with Quin. All of these teachers are fantastic and different. Both Spencer's and Kacee's classes are really intense and fun, I'd say Kacee is a little more about classic Zumba with Latin rhythms, but not only that. Spencer is very motivational and encouraging and music is mostly pop/hip-hop, I'd say. People that go here seem to be very dedicated and into it, so the energy of classes, the vibe is perfect! Stiletto fit with Quin is something I personally never experienced before as Quin creates new choreography from scratch every new class, she goes with a flow and interacts with students all the time, so the dance in the end is kinda team work. It's very challenging, sexy and loads of fun! I'd also like to mention that classes are always on time, which is not always the case in other studios. Also the reception girls are so friendly and nice, basically everything in here is just great, highly recommended! read more

If you are reading this review and thinking about coming to class at Inner Me, stop reading and sign up already! I promise, it will be well worth your time and money. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. After my first $39 trial month, signing up for a membership wasn't even debatable. As someone who LOATHES going to the gym, I can honestly say I don't even have to use willpower to make myself come to class; it is so much fun I WANT to come! Nicole at the front is awesome, and my favorite instructors are Donnie, Quin, and Spencer. I'm not going to lie though, the membership would be worth it if any one of the instructors were the only ones available. Donnie is great because he encourages you to let loose and be sexy, and comfortable in your own skin, which translates to how you carry yourself outside of the studio as well. I can't tell you how valuable that is! Quin is awesome because she has you pumping and sweating from beginning to end in Urban Aerobics! As a former professional ballerina, I have difficulty "letting go" and feeing the moves; I want everything to be choreographed and precise. Quin's encourages you to have fun, sweat, and really feel the moves. Her classes are such a blast- I really can't stress that enough. Last but not least, Spencer! His Zumba class on Wednesday and Sunday are the highlight of my week! While sweating and jumping Spencer's high-energy and motivation keeps you going throughout the whole class! If I could give it a negative star I would. This review is for the pole dancing class: I paid for the new member special... 3 classes for $39. I only went to one class and did not like it at all. The instructor (which is the owner) is not so warming or friendly at ALL. I ended up not using my other 2 classes and let it go to waste. I rather let it go to waste then to go back to that little class room that smelled of sweat and BO. Other places make sure that they never book more than one person to a pole. But at Inner Me Studios they have at least 2-3 students on one pole so you have to wait your turn! Another thing I didn't like was that the beginners were also in the same class as the other students who have been going to the class for awhile. So as I was doing the beginning workout the instructor kept yelling out, "you're doing it wrong!".... instead of teaching or telling me how to do it correctly she just sat on her chair in the front of the class. read more
