Keep in mind this spot is right across the street from a church. Lol. Okay, so let me start by saying that I ABSOLUTELY love this place. I live in Vegas and called ahead to see if they can accept payments over the phone (they do!) the lady (I'm sorry I forgot her name) that I talked to was super sweet and super understanding and super helpful. So fast forward to our appointment date. I LOVED the industrial look of the place it was modern simple and cute. Check in was easy. If its your first time here show up five minutes early to complete a waiver form. We went up with our fitness trainer Brionna, she was beautiful, a wonderful teacher, understanding and made us felt super comfortable. We got a private pole class and it was SUPER fun for all of us. Every moment was fun and it made us feel super sexy (even without makeup and heels). We definitely will be doing this again when we come back to Houston. I was so excited when the new studio opened recently! I came to Inner Me for a pole party years ago and became a regular since then. Now that the studio has moved into its own beautiful new facility there are a lot of different classes to chose from. I enjoy taking pole classes and dance labs. All of the instructors there are awesome and I have taken classes by Brandi, Donnie, Jaike, Tyla, Jaz, Takeya, and Christina. Inner Me Fitness is quaint modern studio with extraordinary customer service. I took a Zumba class with Sunny. I moved parts of my body, I didn't know were supposed to move in that fashion. The membership packages are well priced and the classes that are offered keep you on your toes...pun intended! Ive taken pole, stiletto fit, chair, piyolet yoga and sensual yoga, and thats not even all the classes they offer! I love that the pole classes are taught different by each instructor so you can find who you resonate with the most! They even sell cute merch and cool add ons to the classes. This is my first time having joined a dance studio ever and since I've joined, my confidence has improved and Ive gotten a lot better at dancing and pole! Though the studio isn't as new and bright as Verticality, and there aren't as many poles, I liked this studio better because of the people and the instructor. I had Brandi and I was confident she knew what she was doing from the get go! I was excited to find a pole studio here after moving to Houston and Brandi was no BS. She asked me what I knew and jumped me right back into where I left off. None of this having to take level 1 and 2 BS Verticality was making me do. The atmosphere was inviting and Brandi made sure everyone interacted and became "pole sisters", where Verticality was very sterile and nobody talked to each other during the class. I also liked it was 1.5 hours instead of 1 so you can take your time stretching and getting into it without having to cram and rush. Though I find it hard when everyone is at different levels to learn both spins and inverts at the same time when there's not much of a structure to the open classes. You also don't get your own pole the whole time because they sign up more people than poles are available - though I didn't have problems with this because you can't invert for 1.5 hours straight. Update: I bought a 6 month package that I couldn't use before it expired so Nicole extended the expiration a month out for me so I don't lose any of my classes! Hooray! I love a studio that understands and listens to their clients! They also are amending the class structures so that there will be less students and more classes available in the near future, which means a little more time with the instructor when they rotate around! I am a big fan of InnerMe on Richmond! This review is only for the pole dancing classes, but I am planning on trying the other dance classes as it always looks like everyone is having a blast when I walk through. Pole fitness is one of those workouts that I always come back to, and I like the structure of the classes at InnerMe. I started pole dancing about 4 years ago when I lived in Los Angeles and even taught for a little while. However, when I moved to Houston 2 years ago, I never found anywhere to take classes and stopped all together. About 2 months ago I found Inner Me Studios. I convinced a coworker to try a class with me, and we went to Renee's beginner class on Thursday. When I discovered that pole dancing is like riding a bike & I still had a few moves in me, I really appreciate that I was allowed to work on the things that I wanted to. Renee is my favorite of the teachers that I've tried! Aside from looking UNBELIEVABLE for a mother of 3, she creates a welcoming and fun atmosphere in all of her classes. I'm still working on building back some of the strength that I used to have and learning some new tricks, but Inner Me is where I'll be doing it :) My review is technically 4.75 stars - the only improvements that I could suggest are adding more classes to the schedule and possible putting a fan in the pole room. Other than that, keep up the great work!! read more

I've been coming here for 2 years and I still love it. I've enjoyed taking pole because I've build up my strength while having fun. It's a great way to get a workout in without feeling bored. IMS is such a great place! Everybody there is so nice. I go to both locations I work near one and live near the other :) I've done: ZUMBA with Sole, Kaycee, Justin (no longer there), and Spencer HIP HOP with Donnie, Roger, and Darian CHAIR DANCING with Donnie and Darian Let me tell you, I have never had so much fun!!! The instructors are so welcoming and are not intimidating!!!! I love how they let you try it out for a month unlimited for only $39! I love Zumba so I was super excited to try it out at Inner Me. While it was a pretty good cardio workout, I would definitely not call this Zumba. There was almost no Latin music or steps. It was mostly top 40 hip hop songs and sensitive ears definitely should not attend. (These are not the radio edit versions!) There was a lot of twerking, "shake that booty!" and "make it sexy!". Maybe that's just this particularly instructor's style? Class was taught by Kimberly although I think she said she was substituting for someone. Maybe because she was a sub but she was picking each song individually as we went. Seems like she should have a playlist ready to go. On the positive side, she had a lot of energy and was pretty easy to follow. Even though the studio is large, it was very full and did feel a little cramped. There were a lot of late-comers to class and it a note to the studio: having people coming in is distracting and causes reshuffling, so I would strongly consider asking people to enter only between songs. The woman at the front desk was friendly and offered to credit my drop in fee ($15) toward a new member 2 week unlimited pass. The timing wasn't right for me given some upcoming travel, but that would have been a good deal. Bring: water. They do not have a water fountain or fill up station so pre-fill your bottle. If you are a very sweaty person you might also want a small towel. Wear: whatever. While most people were in exercise clothes, there were a couple people in regular street clothes. read more

My sister, my friend and I took a heels class for my sister's birthday. We had just come from her dinner party, and Inner Me was the perfect choice! It was so much fun that-before we knew it, we'd been dancing for an hour. I'd worked up a full body sweat. I left feeling great. The instructor was both talented and encouraging. The desk clerk was professional and pleasant. This was a great way to have fun while getting a full body workout. I had such a great experience that I plan to continue taking classes at Inner Me Studio with my membership subscription. I love this place! read more

I think one class was the lap dance class and another was focused on twerking (not sure of the official names). I absolutely love my experience here! First off, the receptionist was nice and professional and gave me a goodie bag with a hair tie, hand sanitizer, and coupons for future classes and local boutiques. This was my first time here so I instantly felt welcomed. I took a beginner's pole class taught by Rebecca and had such a fun time. She led the class in stretching and warm-up exercises for about 15 or 20 minutes then started with pole instructions. After teaching a basic routine for us to practice she went by and coached us one by one to make sure we had it down and to answer any questions. The class size was intimate (4 students including myself) and everyone was made to feel comfortable. She also encouraged us to be confident, feel sexy, uplift and support one another, and was open to music suggestions. A truly great instructor! Even though I go to the gym and do yoga I definitely felt the effects of this class the next day. I'm looking forward to trying all of the classes and highly recommend you give them a try as well. =) read more

Found this amazing studio on a whim. I was first just looking up for a fun pole dance lesson to check off my bucket list but got hooked after the first lesson by Brandi, she was fun and very helpful. The studio itself is really clean and modern, staffs are super nice and friendly, they will answers all of your questions with a smile on their faces. I would recommend trying out their Trial-Pack for $49, you will get two weeks unlimited dance classes and 2 Pole dance classes. You will not regret it! read more

Oh my! I booked this place for my 20th birthday with my closest girl friends and we had sooo much fun! None of us go here but now we are all wanting to get memberships! My instructors were Drew and Quinn. Drew was our pole dancing and Quinn was our burlesque! They let you pick the song in advance so they can make a dance and teach you the day of. They even have fake money that my friends threw on me for the pole dancing!! It was absolutely so much fun and felt good to let loose. I definitely recommend booking here for future parties! Our room was kind of small so for pole dancing and stuff I would make sure no more than 10 people. Other wise it gets very crowded. read more

I did just a one-time visit to Inner Me Studios and already my whole body aches and I have bruises all over my knees and shin areas. I blame my cousin for dragging me here when she threw a private workout party. The place is small and so is parking. As you enter, you'll see the front desk to your right and a large room to your left, just behind a wall. You have to walk through the large room to get to the smaller room for the pole-dancing class. That room has only 6 poles (5 main poles and 1 pole on a stand). My cousin had one of those Groupon discounts for a private party and paid about $116 (I think). There were 5 of us girls and my cousin provided the food and wine. For private parties, you can choose one or more of the following to be in your package: belly dancing, pole dancing, chair dancing, lap dancing, twerkin', and zumba. My cousin chose pole and twerkin' (each was 45 minutes long). We had a blast! The instructors for both classes were guys (Cory and Scooter, I believe were their names) and they were crazy fun, strong, and very flexible. I couldn't stop laughing at some of their moves they did for both classes. In addition to the classes mentioned earlier, they also offer cardio express, hip hop dance, hip hop yoga/PIYOLET, indoor bootcamp, plyometrics, sexy pole, stiletto fit, urban kickboxing, werQ!, pole dance aerobics, and advanced stretch/contortion. The flyer I picked up had these prices for ME classes: - drop-in rate $15 - package of 5 $60 - package of 10 $99 - unlimited month $99 - monthly member $49 (requires 3-month commitment) - package prices differ for pole dance aerobics. Private parties are by appointment and are held Friday through Sunday afternoons. You can also rent studio space any time on Sundays. read more

I went for my bachelorette party and the experience was very disappointing. My maid of honor has been to other places in Katy and said that this class was nothing like the others. She would NOT recommend the Inner Me Studios to anyone who is only going for a one time fun event. RECEPTIONIST: - The woman at the front desk was not very inviting. She recited the paperwork instruction and did not smile once. I don't mind this very much, it's the instructor that gets the rating. INSTRUCTOR: - Our instructor WASTED SO MUCH TIME!!! - We paid for an hour and a half but spend at least 45 minutes learning how to walk sexy only to find out later that it wasn't even a part of the routine. We learned it for nothing! I paid for a pole class, not a walking class. Suggestion: Make the walk part a MAXIMUM of 5-10 minutes after stretch. - She must not have had a lunch because she began eating snacks during the class and actually delayed a couple of times to finish chewing before she taught anything else. We stood there awkwardly in silence awaiting the next part of our routine. - She continuously complained that she left her phone somewhere but there was a clock on the wall. None of us understood for what other reasons she would need a phone. - We were a group of young women in their early to mid 20s but her profanity was a bit rude. She said the F word at least once every 5 minutes. Awkward. - When my maid of honor asked her to teach us something that wasn't in the plan she just about lost her mind. She bit her lip and didn't tell us no but everyone could see how much she did not welcome any requests. CLASS WAS ENDED EARLY: - She ended class 15 minutes early to get us to take a group photo for the company not our group. If you are going to stop class without a specific request from the group, I think we should at least have that photo emailed to us. WHAT WE LEARNED: - We mastered how to walk sexy, we learned 2 spins (front spin & back spin), how to sit on the pole (and that it hurts), and how to slap our butts. read more

Inner Me Studios - Make me wanna (almost) holler. I also bought a Groupon here. 3 classes for $20. Definitely more reasonable than other independent gyms in the area. A selection of pole dance aerobics, stiletto fit, piyolet, kickboxing, bellydance, and zumba. I would think an appropriate motto for this place would be, "Get in touch with your inner diva." The actual studio is in an older office/shopping complex close to St. Thomas. The parking lot is small so be sure to get there early. The studio is petite as well. The floors are a nice walnut color; you can feel the foundation dip at the rear of the outside exercise room. The pole dance class is in its own private room. I took Piyolet/Hip Hop Yoga tonight. Not bad, not fantastic. It was different to do beginner level yoga to hip hop/pop music. It's like going in for a massage with "Poker Face" or "Boom Boom Pow" playing in the background. It was nice to do mat pilates again and I'm sure I will be feeling my quads and glutes tomorrow morning after those blasting exercises. Things to note: - There's mats available for you to use, free of charge. They smell sweaty already, though. - Class doesn't necessarily start on time, but you'll get your full hour of work out. - Piyolet/Hip Hop yoga are scheduled for Wednesday nights but they apparently alternate which one they'll do every other week, or leave it up to the class vote. Call in advance to find out what night it's supposed to be - piyolet or hip hop yoga. - The piyolet/yoga instructor is super fit and has a soothing tone. She clearly knows her yoga but moved kind of fast. She didn't take time to emphasize the right form. Some previous yoga experience would help some prior to taking this class. - Pole dancing students have to walk through your piyolet class to get to their's. I wasn't expecting to sweat but I did! Will update later after I take stiletto fit and bellydance! read more

I am Cate's friend. She's kinder than me in her words too. I leave room for human error with merchant, but only when it is handles with manners and grace and this owner lacked any of that. Since she was the only person there, this place didn't stand a chance. Nasty and rude from the start. I too thought she was just some hostile receptionist with the attitude she was giving and it was a shock to realize she was the owner. I suspect she won't be in business long. She had no consideration for our time and didn't apologize even as she decided to teach the class herself 20 min late. We went and ate at Bowl. I'll write a Yelp for them next, they were awesome. She did send an email (perhaps she didn't like us walking out? Perhaps her attempt to teach a class she had only attended sucked?) I don't know what her sudden motive for good was, but I thought it was a nice gesture. Didn't make up for how condescending and terrible she and her business were. read more

There are few exercises classes where you can let your hair down (literally), put on short shorts, and wear your tallest stilettos... Inner Me Studios fortunately is one of them. Now I've read all of the reviews prior to signing up for the intro pole dance class package for $39, and I will admit, I was very wary. However, when I arrived, the girl upfront was very professional and polite to me. She even handed me a welcome package filled with a bracelet, hand sanitizer, and a bottle water (adorable). Onto the class... Our instructor was Brandi, and at first I didn't think much of the class, since I thought that I looked the fittest, but HOOLYYY CRAP, I quickly learned that these girls mean business and they are good! Brandi was so encouraging to me (I was the only beginner), and her energy was awesome! There were only 5 girls in the class, so we got to do a lot of swinging around...which is FUN. I asked what the cut off was for the class, and Brandi said 10, so 2 to a pole which is great. Bottom line is that the girls in the class are extremely nice (I'm even going to play tennis with one), and the class is fun and hard. Here's a tip: bring your stilettos, your sexy attitude, and let your hair down - you'll thank me later! read more

I tried my first pole dancing class here a couple weeks ago when I went with my friend. I should mention that I am not coordinated, and nothing highlights that fact more than when I am clinging for dear life to a pole. I didn't wear heels to the class, and maybe that was a part of the problem. After watching others, I feel like sashaying in some heels would have helped (seriously). During class, I felt the burn, but because the class was so packed, I spent a lot of time sitting around waiting for others to work the pole so I could take my next turn. The (overly large) class was broken into two groups; newbies and seasoned pros (those who had taken at least one class before). The instructor showed us noobs a few moves while the more experienced ones in the back played around on a couple poles, and then we played around while she went to the back to instruct the others. The mixed instruction was a little confusing and always left one group sitting around for 15+ minutes. There was a revolving free dance at the end, and that was actually pretty fun. Regardless, the instructor was super-sweet and the warm up was pretty intense. I might try other classes there. read more

I just wanna dance! This studio is great. A bunch of young(ish) people get together and learn a dance routine taught by some real dancers. I have been taught by a man that majored in dance and a man that is in a dance company. Both were excellent and fun. Not everyone in the class has a dance background. Some catch on faster than others. Everyone has a ball trying to keep up! Don't worry. It's not too fast. You get a great work out and the steps are taught slow enough to learn, but fast enough to keep you interested the entire class. Oh, and the moves are quick enough to get your heart rate up and keep it up. Trust me! Get your hip-hop on during the Hip-Hop class, or Werq it and learn a routine combining Vogueing (fast hand and arm movements), Waacking (think sassy), Stiletto Fitness (think sexy), Hip-hop and House. All forms of dance are incredibly entertaining! Deducting one star because they don't have a water fountain anywhere. The bottle of water I bring to class, only lasts ONE class. Gotta stay hydrated. If I want to stay for the next class, I either have to bring 2 water bottles OR buy a small bottle of water for $1.00. Seriously not a fan of buying bottled water. read more
