Myah. She makes this class AMAZING. It's easy to feel awkward or silly taking a pole class. But Myah is the ultimate hype girl! She encourages the students so much and makes the class so fun. I've been going to TPE for over a year now and I've seen the studio grow quiet a bit... from having no spinning poles, to a couple, to 4, and now all 6 poles spin? I'm so proud to call myself a member of this studio. With a ton of different classes, approaches, instructors, etc. there is definitely something for everyone here. People end up getting so close with one another here that people come for their birthdays, everyone knows, and we celebrate them!! With that being said, I do have 1 wish for the future. I hope that the studio starts to hold Friday evening classes. As someone who doesn't go out I would love to spend my Friday evenings doing pole. read more

I have been attending classes on and off for about 3 years. I have always enjoyed the classes by the instructors and various classes offered throughout the day to accommodate for everyone's schedules. i even once hosted a pole party here because I enjoyed this business so much. I would give the business 5 stars on that alone, however the I notice a change in customer service side of things leaves much to be desired. The business is difficult to contact for customer support. One time, I needed to reach out to the instructor to then reach out to the owner in order to get a refund. A message I have previously sent months ago via the app for classes has still been left unanswered. The email address listed on the website is now defunct. The email address I contacted to coordinate the pole party is also defunct. I tried calling the number today, and I was unable to leave a message because the voicemail box is full. I don't trust that they will reach out. I'll have to reach out to my own credit card company for support this time around if there is no response. I deeply respect the owner, and she truly cares about her community. She was helping the community via her studio passing out free waters when Beryl hit, and I think she is a wonderful instructor and leader. However, I truly am disappointed in customer service. I would not recommend a membership here for that reason. If you plan on coming here just to learn and explore a few times, I 100% would recommend. For more than that, proceed with caution. read more

It all started with a Groupon offered in the summer of last year. This studio knows how to make pole fitness fun. When you're a beginner they break down basic spins. As you advance you learn additional skills. Their app makes it extremely convenient to sign up for classes on the go and purchase in store merch. They have 50s for poles. They're all static, and you have a good mix of students per class. Eventually, I'm sure they'll invest in spin poles and a lobby area for privacy. For now, I wish they had a 1.5 level class following basic inversion, a few week boot camp to establish consistency in skill acquisition & consistency with instructors. It's difficult to watch your favorite instructors leave, especially after you've developed a relationship with them and they understand you, your goals and your style. read more

Im visiting from Virginia and wanted to have my 30 yr old God Daughter try what I love so much. I first spoke with a young lady named Asia. She was professional, kind and a lot of fun. I knew right away this was the place to go. They were kind enough to be able to squeeze us in the next day for a private lesson. We were lucky enough to have an instructor named Geona. Having some experience, I can tell you this young lady is a GREAT instructor. She's patient, knowledgeable and reads her students well. Some learn thru doing, some learn thru watching and copying. She's able to see which method suits your particular style. We walked out of there tired and smiling. Pole has gained a new addict and it's due to the ladies at The Pole Experience. I signed up for their "I'm new to this" Saturday class and I left with a 5 class pass lol. I enjoyed my first class here. It's a small, intimate studio which was perfect for me. I like the smaller classes where I'm not overwhelmed and overlooked. The lovely instructor was attentive and assisted everyone attending. She made sure everyone was in proper position especially for safety reasons and took time to make sure we got the moves. She encouraged us all to let loose and enjoy ourselves. If you're looking for an affordable way to increase your athleticism, flexibility, and mobility in a small studio setting, the Pole Experience is a great place to join. I have been on a mission to increase my flexibility for years. I have explored yoga, calisthenics, and have even completed various stretching programs. I found it difficult at times to stay motivated and hold myself accountable in staying consistent with my flexibility goals. This is especially true when given the opportunity to do something more fun than strictly stretching. My wife is into pole fitness and told me the Pole Experience was selling a 5-class bundle for only $49.99. Although we have a pole at home, I never really learned how to properly train with it. I was always interested in learning more about pole, but I had been mentally scarred about joining a group class. Typically, these classes get taken by women, and a girl once told me that I would make everybody feel uncomfortable if I ever joined in. It took a lot of convincing and encouragement from my female friends, who have trained with me in other settings, to get over this. I finally did, and I was able to explore the Pole Experience. I first checked out "Flex 401" which is a 1-hour deep-stretch class with Hindolo Bongay. This guy is incredible. He's a jazz dancer, and his flexibility is on another level. His stretching routine will push you past your limits in a safe, effective manner so you could actually see and feel gains! My hamstrings and hips really loosened up. Hindolo also teaches "Barre 404" where you'll learn the fundamentals of ballet using a ballet barre (horizontal bar fastened to the wall). The class was fun, and although I felt like I didn't do much, my calves were sore for days! I would highly recommend checking him out for your flexibility and mobility needs. For pole, I first tried the "Pole 100" class with Shemika Stanley. She is really funny, and I love her positivity. The studio is small with one main room with 5 (50 mm) static poles. Her class was full with about 10 students, so we all had to share poles. The Pole Experience caps each class at 12 students total so it doesn't get overly busy. I learned how to climb, with proper technique, and some basic spin moves. I was able to try "Pole 200" afterwards which is an intermediate to advanced level course. Shemika was able to gauge her students' athleticism and customize her teaching accordingly which I really liked. I learned new basic moves like Teddy Bear and Jasmine. Shemika is the manager at the Pole Experience and only teaches during the day. For nights and weekends, she advised me to check out the other instructors including Asia Quentin and Chudney Gaither. I went to Asia Quentin's "Pole Goals 102" on a weeknight. Her class was no joke, and it started right away with fast-paced pole conditioning exercises to get us all prepared for the pole. It was a class of 4, so each student was able to get their own pole! I was a bit scared with my lack of pole experience, but Asia was very welcoming and set everybody up to do introductions since we were all new faces. Asia made her class really engaging and fun! She strategically wrote random pole moves on tiny pieces of paper in a cup, and she had everybody pick one out. She was able to teach every single move in detail, then had us put it all together in a way that flowed. I really enjoyed seeing this creative process because it showed me a big picture view of what pole could actually be. I had been very rigid and systematic with my methodology of learning pole moves, but Asia was able to relax my thinking and demonstrated that pole is actually dance, and you can move your body and structure the moves to musical rhythm. It was pretty eye opening for me. I'd highly recommend checking her out! Overall, I loved my pole experience at the Pole Experience! I ended up getting a 3-month membership for $225 which gives students unlimited access. I'm excited to increase my flexibility with Hindolo and learn more about pole from the rest of the instructors. This was our first time to the class and our teacher was Ms. Chudney. She was an excellent teacher who believes in safety first! She went over everything. Don't wear lotion or oils before class. They did have yoga mats and blocks for you to use. There are only 5 poles so it will not be a big class. I will most definitely come again. read more

When we arrived it was in a not so safe area. There were about 10-15 shirtless men loitering around the door and in the street in front of the business, who also harassed (hit on) my friend as she went to the desk. Only a man at the front desk. No women in sight. It felt very unsafe and even our Uber driver (who was female) did not want to leave us there, especially since it was close to dark when our party was booked. I messaged them and asked for a partial refund and never received a response. I would not book here if you're looking for a safe place for a party of women. Unfortunately, I have to write a bad review for the Pole Experience. The only reason it is unfortunate, is because the instructor was actually really sweet. A private event was booked two weeks in advance. While booking I requested a photographer and I made it very clear that this was a very special event and that pictures were an absolute necessity. In fact, one of the reasons that I chose this place is because they offered photography services. I participated in a birthday promotion which allowed us to receive some perks such as champagne. The promotion required that I pay for 10 people upfront. After a week I had not heard from the photographer so I called and they informed me that they would contact the photographer by the end of the day. A few days later I still hadn't heard anything from the photographer so I called back. They informed me that I had only called 2 days ago which did not give them time to connect with the photographer. The photographer already had a prior engagement and would not be able to make it. This information was false because as I stated previously, I notified them when I initially booked that I would need photography services and then I called back a week later. The worst part of this whole experience was that they were 45 minutes late letting us in. The place was literally closed. The outside photographer that I hired was only supposed to be there for 45 minutes and he was paid by the hour. In addition, because they were late 10 of us ladies sat outside in the cold waiting for them to let us in for the event. This gave us no time to set up for the event, we had to rush to change and the photographer rushed to take photos because his time was technically up and he had to get to another event. We asked for the champagne that was supposed to come with the package and the instructor informed us that they were out of champagne. The instructor also informed us that she had no idea that she was the one who was supposed to lead the event. It is now 4 days later and I have not heard from the venue. No apology, no offer of concessions for the mishap. Nothing. There was one other thing that I must mention. To get the promotion package there had to be 10 guest, but they only have 5 polls. This means that at least half of your guests are sitting down and watching during your timed event. This should have been communicated to me at the time that I booked. To say the least, the personnel at the Pole Experience are unprofessional, they do not take responsibility for their mishaps, they are untimely, and you cannot trust that your private event will actually take place. My suggestion would be to use a different venue because there are others available. Simply do not waste your time or money at the Pole Experience. Certainly, do not pay for the whole event in advance. read more

I'm having the best time taking classes at the pole experience! I'm new to pole and I started taking classes to relieve stress and build upper body/core strength. Morgan is a gem! She leads us through semi-intense warm ups to really build our core and teaches cute little pole routines to get us energized for the rest of the week! I booked a private party two weeks ago for 7:30pm. My girls and I arrived around 7:15 and the building was completely locked down; I called Asia several times and there was no answer. Finally over an hour later I hear from the instructor stating there was a mix up in booking and she was on her way. Due to the reservations we set we were only able to dance for about 30 mins. The instructor was great but I will never book with this establishment again. I never heard from Asia (the owner and individual that processed my payment) I requested a full refund but only received half. In my opinion not only should I have gotten a full refund there needs to be a class free of charge to makeup for this awful experience that had the potential to ruin my party.
