I had been to Inner Me Studios on a couple of occasions for friends' birthdays and things like that. It was not until recently that I learned they offer so much more than they did in the past. The owner is a wonderful person and so far everyone I have met has been so genuine and helpful. As a ballet/modern dancer it is first off great to find a place that offers ballet classes for people older than 10! Secondly the ME classes seem amazing and classes such as stretching/contortion only help you in your other classes. I am currently here for ballet and aerial pole and silk classes. I could see myself signing up for all of them at some point! I just started and already can't get enough! read more

This is an amaziiiiiiiiiiing studio. It is so fun!!! The studios is full of energetic and inspiring women of all shapes and sizes. You feel rejuvenated when you walk through the front doors and hear the loud stereo. The owner has an intimate relationship with her clients and the manager is always on hand. The studio always remains clean and the colors of the studio create an encouraging atmosphere. The best thing about the company are the parties. Women are able to gather together for divorce parties or special birthdays in order to enjoy music and dance as one! read more

It was my first time at the inner me studios in Richmond Ave. The location is far from my house but it was so worth it because I finally found a choreographer that I like. Takeya was not playing any games, she slayed the dance studio. I fell in love with her choreography for Naughty Girl that I wake up every morning doing the dance. I've been going to pole dancing classes here for a couple of months now and I'm hooked! The instructors really care and are definitely knowledgeable. I recommend taking classes from a variety of instructors so you can get tips from different perspectives. Sometimes someone will explain something just the right way or correct a little thing in your technique that makes the move easier. I saw another review that said the reviewer was standing around for 15 + minutes at a time... well, I say this class is definitely what you make of it. You have a list of moves to learn, the instructor comes around and shows you a move or a sequence, and then you are left alone for a while to practice it while the instructor helps others. You can use the time to practice, or you can stand there watching others, your choice. Personally, if the instructor is teaching something I already know to someone else, I often go along with whatever the teacher is doing just to get the learning reinforcement. I'm very proud of my progress and on the days I don't go, it is on my mind like a crush. I like the Hillcroft studio better than the Richmond one. It is sunny and has a nice view and better parking. read more

Ok y'all Inner Me Studios is absolutely GREAT!!! It's literally for everyone, any age, any size, any gender, the for real dancers or those that think they can dance (like me) it's totally FUN! My first time was last night (5-5-14) ...what a way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo!! Donnie J was my instructor and he noticed that I was a newbie and he made sure that I was comfortable and was catching on to every step!! His chair class is HOT and I can't wait to check out his HipHop dance class tonight! Yep I said tonight!!! I'm going again tonight, sore thighs and all!! I take the deep strech/contortion class at both locations. The teacher Elizabeth is freaking amazng. It can be a little intimidating when you first start, but if you stick with it you will be dumbfounded at how your flexibility will progress, which is mainly due to Elizabeth's assistance with the deep stretches. I now have my center split down and working on my oversplits and back flexibilty. Remember people: Flexible people cannot be bent out of shape :) read more

I believe the environment is warm and welcoming, and the teachers seem really invested in you learning and improving. I also love the diverse class list. I took a PIYOLET that was amazing! I loved that the class size was small because it allowed for more attention from the instructor. I've only attended one pole dancing class at the Richmond location so far and it was absolutely great! I experienced the friendliness before I even got to the building. Leslie, the studio manager, called me to confirm I would be there and when I said I might be late due to work, she helped to reschedule me into class another day. When I got there, everyone (staff and class members) were all really helpful and so welcoming. My instructor was Brandi and she was amazing. She was so encouraging with everyone and was smiling the entire class. As for the class itself, it's a great workout. I decided to start pole dancing because I've wanted to get into it for the longest time, and also because just going to the gym becomes so boring for me and I lose my dedication. Pole dancing really is a great way to work your entire body and since you have fun while doing it, you don't even realize you're working out (until you wake up the next day if you don't stretch properly before). I'm definitely recommending Inner Me to people and I plan on becoming a regular member. read more

Love this place!! The staff is friendly and very helpful! I've been taking the pole class and I love it! Brandy my instructor is the best! She teaches you in a way you can catch on quick:) and she keeps the class fun! The only down fall about the place is that most of the time there are more students than poles so you have to share that's why I gave 4 stars instead of five. read more

I really enjoyed my time here. My instructor Corey was AWESOME. He made sure we all knew the routine and took his time. The staff made sure i was well informed before I arrived. The only thing that was disappointing was I asked for the photographer to be there to capture our moments and i didn't find out till I arrived that there was some sort of downloading problem with the camera. I love every moment I spent at Inner Me Studios. When I first joined the studio, I had zero experience pole dancing and very little other dance experience. I signed up quickly for a pole membership after my first trial month and quickly progressed to be able to climb, invert, and improve my flexibility. I enjoyed the fact that the classes had everything from beginner pole dancers to advanced students. It allowed for a lot of interaction between students where we could exchange advice about certain moves or look forward to what we would be doing in a few months. In addition to Pole, I participated in several of the dancing workshops (chair, hip-hop, modern). All of the teachers were great and I loved the routines. I felt that, as a beginning dancer, I could keep up with most of the moves but was also challenged to keep learning new things. Finally, I took part in the ballet series and yogalates classes. I loved that the studio offered pole and ballet and the teacher is really great. She focuses on technique but is more laid back than I've found in many ballet classes. It's one of the first classes that I've taken ballet for adults where you actually get to learn a routine in addition to the basics. Ballet combined with yogalates is a great whole body workout that builds strength and flexibility. I'm going to miss this studio a lot when I leave Houston. I had so much fun working out at Inner Me. I'm not a big yelp reviewer but I've been with inner me for 3 years and I think it's about time to give them one. I love to dance but I hate working out. The gym never did it for me so I tried pole. I had tried one pole studio on a groupon but I just felt uncomfortable being in a dark room and being instructed to tease my hair and feel my curves. Then I found inner me. It was a bit intimidating at first to be in a class with girls hanging upside down and doing stuff that looks like cirque soliel but it actually inspired me to get to their level too. If they can do it so can I. I went once a week for almost 3 years and I'm proud to say i'm a pole addict. The warmups are kick ass but they're intentional to build the muscles you need. Yes I get bruises but they're my battle scars after conquering a new move. I've made friends who inspire and support and I've found an instructor, Brandi, who will teach me things I want to learn and showed me I don't have to be sexy by prancing around "feeling my womanly curves". So thanks ladies of Inner Me for helping me bring out my inner pole dancer. ;) read more

I purchased a mydailydeals voucher for classes. When i tried to sign up online, first they kept asking for my credit card info despite the fact that I have already paid. Then they refused to honor the voucher, claiming that it is expired even though the expiration date clearly says 8/17//2011. They claimed that this was an "error." I asked for them to refund my money and again they refuse, stating that the error was a third party error and not theirs. read more

Several friends and I took the chair dancing class with Yasmine E., and she was wonderful! She made sure the class understood all of the movies while having fun. We were a bit nervous going in to it because it was a first for all of us, but those nerves quickly went away. There are changing rooms in case you need them, and they also provide you with a little bottle of water (which was super nice because I forgot to bring some). I didn't know what to expect when coming here the first time.... But the instructor made it a pleasant workout experience. She seemed really tired at first and I thought that we wouldn't get the full lesson and that she would half ass it but SHE WAS AMAZING it really motivated me to not only feel sexier but to tone up my upper body strength... She took us thru the strectch routine which i hadn't done in years. So i'm still soar but it was work the amount that I paid. If my allowances allow it i'm considering doing a pole series to learn the "art of pole"... I didn't knkow or expect this to be the workout that it was. Brandi was such a great personality to take the class with. The workout was one you definitely feel. You will get a full length workout with stretching and a warm up and then go into pole basics your first class. If you are looking to enjoy getting fit definitely take aerial pole with her! Come comfortable in volleyball shorts and a tank , and workout barefoot. She will help you with tips to build the skill but put no pressure on you at the same time . I've tried all the gyms , different sports , Zumba . Ect. What I was lacking was was the girly girl flirtatious attitude. I was always so into being competitive while playing sports that I had pushed my girly girl to the side. I decided to try Inner me because they not only offered pole classes ( upper body strength) . They also offered aerobics... But not just any aerobics.. Hip hop aerobics ( I was having a blast while shaking what my momma gave me). They also offer stiletto fit, and chair . This is where my sexy side comes out. I love that there are two different locations which is so convenient because of all the classes both locations have to offer. I took my 1st class at inner me studios a few weeks ago. Specifically it was the hip hop class on Monday nights. 1st we felt so welcome coming in and registering for classes. Also during your first week you are offered classes at a discounted rate, so thats a great deal. Leslie, who was the receptionist at the front really helped me and answered all my questions and gave me great details. And then the dance instructor, Donnie is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. He starts his class with some cardio thats gets your blood flowing and then you go into the choreography. And this guy is just amazing with the moves that he comes up with. You can check out some of his stuff on youtube as well. I would encourage anyone who enjoys hip hop dancing to check out his class. Also, they have pole dancing classes, cardio classes, yoga and more. So I am looking forward to checking out the other instructors as well. I will be taking classes from here. read more

Love the zumba classes at Inner Me! Each teacher is highly energetic, has great choreography and extremely motivating! I try to mix up my workouts, but the classes at Inner Me are always my first pick because I know I'll have fun and SWEAT! The only downside is that the dance space is small, so sometimes the classes are a little too packed. Also, the lack of parking spaces. Instructor for Hip Hop Fitness class seemed nice and introduced himself to the new people. Seemed that he used a lot of participant input to decide what song we would use which was cool. Coreography was somewhat complicated for a beginner like me because of the speed of the class. Overall great workout.
