I've been going to InUrLane Fitness for about 10 months now and I couldn't be happier with the…read moreresults. Historically, when I try to get back in shape, I go to the extremes and inevitably burn out after a month or two. Rob preaches "fit for life" and his program is measured and achievable, and is implemented over time in incremental steps. The results come slower but it is much more sustainable than my previous efforts. Fast forward 10 months and I'm stronger and leaner and, most importantly, my recurring knee pain has disappeared, which allows me to wrestle with my kids again. InUrLane is a small gym, but it is ideal for one-on-one personal sessions where you get the full attention of the trainer. My trainer, John, is excellent. He started me out with very simple workouts, focusing on building up my knee strength. Once "the foundation" was built, John moved me into more difficult routines and I'm now doing activities (both in the gym and in life) that I haven't been able to do in over a decade.

Rob is an excellent trainer. He takes it seriously and encouraged me to do the same. His approach…read moreis to look at long term goals and provide workouts that correct inbalances and address specific weaknesses. I really liked that his gym is set up for one on one sessions so the focus is clear: getting me in shape. It's not about the gym or the frills, it's about training skills. And Rob has them.

Husband and I signed up for memberships back in September. I…read morehave to agree with the previous reviewer about the lack of transparency regarding the pricing. In November, my account was charged $600 dollars for no reason at all, even the branch manager was unable to identify what the charges were for. He said he would reach out to billing a week ago and let us know. He confirmed that the charges were a mistake. We have heard nothing since. No confirmation email. No follow through. My personal trainer has been kind and assured me that the charges would be dealt with and refunded, yet no updates have occurred. I find this insanely unethical and will be filing for fraudulent charges with our bank if the issue does not resolve soon. We will also be reporting this on the Better Business Bureau. I will be following through on this comment obviously as the situation progresses. **UPDATE: after another week of the manager attempting to communicate with billing regarding the charges, they've clarified that the previous month's charges were not processed so they were moved to November. I don't understand why their internal dept was so vague and avoidant. I will say the manager did his best to resolve the issue.

I have been a member of Fitness 19 for several years, but a recent experience raised some serious…read moreconcerns for me about both privacy and safety policies at this location. During a recent workout, another member had her phone set up on a tripod and was recording herself while exercising. Unfortunately, I was using equipment directly behind her and appeared to be within the frame of the recording. I politely asked if she could avoid filming in my direction, but she told me that the gym allows members to record. Because this made me uncomfortable, I spoke with the manager on duty, who identified himself as Ed. (he acted really shady about giving me his name so I'm not sure if that's really his name or not) He confirmed that the owner allows members to record videos inside the gym. When I explained my concerns about privacy and noted that many gyms have policies restricting filming out of respect for other members, the conversation became frustrating. Rather than acknowledging the concern, he suggested that if I didn't like the policy, I could simply go to another gym. I also asked if I could contact the owner directly to discuss the policy, but the manager initially refused to provide a phone number or email address. After a lengthy discussion--and only after I mentioned leaving a review--he finally provided an email address, though it appeared to be a general gym email rather than a direct contact so I threw it in the garbage. In addition to the filming policy, the gym also allows members to carry large gym bags around the workout floor rather than storing them in lockers. I have personally tripped over one of these bags before, and I believe this creates a legitimate safety hazard in an already crowded workout space. I understand that some members may want to film workouts for social media or training purposes, but there should be clear guidelines to protect the privacy of other members. Likewise, allowing large bags throughout the gym floor raises avoidable safety concerns. I will likely continue going here because of the convenience, but I think it's important for potential members to be aware of these policies. If privacy and a safer workout environment are important to you, this may not be the right gym.
