It also had a nice little kitchenette with a closer to full size fridge than you normally get in hotels. It als had a small seating area with a sofa and desk. Both of which came in handy for hotel working. It was clean and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay (including Starbucks coffee and Coffee-mate liquid creamer in the room!). Get to it!

I'm not always a fan of B and Bs... they can tend to be a little twee and you feel like you have to tiptoe around... partially because the walls in a good hotel are much thicker, the spaces less cramped, your anonymity more protected. There may be a bit of that tip-toeing here (the floors are pretty squeaky and you are worried that you are making too much noise for someone on a different sleeping schedule) but that is the only downside. We had just spent two nights in a pretty nice hotel in Beacon. The room was over 50% more expensive than here and, while large enough, there was not one square foot of horizontal space to put anything down in the bathroom.... The room at Inn at Twaalfill had so much guest-friendly space (especially in the bathroom), you would not likely have a use for all of it. Food is included in the price and it is buffet style for breakfast and lunch. Dinner is not but you are more than welcome to order more and take things to go. There's snacks available between lunch and dinner but there's also hot chocolate/coffee available all day long with some pastries. The only downside were the rooms. They are connected so if you have loud neighbors, you won't be getting good sleep. Overall, my kids loved the place and want to go back soon. I guess we'll have to wait for another Black Friday deal.

We understood there was issues with the air conditioning and hot water, but Sharon and George did everything in their power to try to make everything else in our stay as wonderful as possible. They made sure staff accommodated us with portable air conditioners and fans for not only us but also the other guests who came and stayed overnight for our big day. They had us situated in their best suites possible to get ready in the morning and Sharon would periodically check in on us and ask if there's anything else she can possibly do. They also made sure that after our wedding ended and we all came back to the hotel for a little after party that they had the appropriate amount of bar staff and drinks supplied for us and our guests as we enjoyed watching the Knicks win a championship. What started out as unfortunate wound up turning out to be the best day of our lives. Thank you to the staff at Doubletree for helping us turn a not so good situation into a weekend I'll never forget for all the best reasons.

We were charged almost triple because we stopped after midnight being too tired to drive. The woman…read moreat the front desk told us that this was typical and it would even happen at car rental places. She was able to tell us that they had open rooms, but she was unable to book it because it was after midnight and suggested we call the 800 number. When we called customer service we were put on hold so they could call the front desk to see if they had rooms. We were the only people in the lobby and could hear her talking to customer service telling them that we were there. I was also told by the woman on the phone that they were holding the night audit for us to be able to book a room. I'm not sure what that has to do with our reservation or why that should be my concern when I am exhausted from driving. After paying almost triple and finally heading to our room, we were able to finally go to sleep. The room itself was not horrible, but it's very musty smelling and hard to really see out because the windows are so gross. When we called room service this morning, there was no answer. When I called the café, we were told that on the weekends they don't have room service even though the website says they offer it. We were then told to file a complaint so corporate would maybe realize that they need to take it off the website. The gentleman also told us that they don't like to do room service and do not usually do it because they have many female employees and they don't feel comfortable going to the rooms. He said if he's not busy himself, he will go instead. This is 100% not a customer service oriented hotel.
