I found a listing for an apartment that looked awesome, so I called the number on the ad. Mike answered my call and let me know that the property I called in about was no longer available but that he had at least five other rental listings within the same price range. He instructed me to come visit him at his office during business hours to get the process started. I stopped by his office the following day during these hours and it was closed. I called Mike and he arrived approximately five minutes later from someplace within the building. He had me fill out basic application paperwork and then said that he would only charge $80 for a credit check for my roommate and I and there were additional fees for representing us as renter clients (sounded suspicious, but nonetheless, we figured he made a commission from the partnering agents listing the apartments). Anyway, following the credit check payment, he printed and handed me a single apartment listing that worked for our budget. Over the phone, he had mentioned he had five. I highly doubt that four units were taken overnight on a weekend. He assured me that within 48 hours, we would know whether or not the application was accepted for that listing. Fast forward to 48 hours later, I call and email Mike to follow-up in regards to the unit, and he said he would alert me asap as soon as he heard anything. I don't know where the 48 hour time frame came from but I figured maybe he knew the renter/agent. Anyway, then I checked the yelp and realized working with Mike might be a dead end for us (which it was). Mike had told me to come in to his office once a week as a policy or he would no longer give/send us listings. I showed up with my roommate during his office hours one week prior to my first visit and again the office was closed. I called Mike and he answered (which surprised me) but his tone with me was very defensive and rude. He told me there was no need to go to the office and that if there was a new listing, he would reach out (I'm assuming a call/text/or email). He also vented about how he would not be wasting his time treasure hunting for a listing for us (figures) and that all he would be willing to do is send an application/credit template email to any listings that we were able to get an email address for. I haven't heard anything from Mike ever since that phone call. Additionally, online I saw the initial listing he applied for us at was no longer available. Not a word from Mike. I figured it was best to just part ways with someone who obviously doesn't want to help us and no longer waste our time. Don't be fooled. This cheat won't do anything for you at all. He's not even in the office during his business hours because I'm sure he's already upset too many people to the point that he wants to avoid disgruntled visits from upset clients of his. His business is basically by appointment only, but it seems he only shows up to his office to take your money. Although it may get difficult to find quality rental listings on your own at times, be wary of scams and fake listings and push through. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!! I cannot emphasise enough for anyone to NOT go here!!! Regardless of the 18 years this business has been open, how many people have actually received help and found a home??? In those 18 years how many people have been scammed or ripped off?? I read all the reviews and said fuck it I'll give this place and Mike a chance and it was the worst decision in doing so. From the beginning of stepping foot in that place it seemed a bit sketchy. But Mike did make it seem he was understanding and willing to help. But after paying $40 for a credit and background check and mind you it was for me and my partner so it was $80 in total. And after all was said and done we went our way in driving by places he "would help us with" and when we found a place we wanted him to help us get he was lagging in replying and was VERY rude when responsive. I wish there was an option to give this place zero stars. My mother-in-law found a home for cheap because she is moving from her old house and I was going to put it under my name as she isn't from here and when I requested to see if it was still available it sent me to this real estate. When I went to fill out the application, Mike was rude from the start. It was my first time filling out an application for a home so I did not know what I needed. Instead of politely telling me what I needed, he rudely told me that I needed the second occupant to come in a fill in an application so that he can run both our credit reports to see if we have any prior evictions, since this is my first time doing this I was like okay, but after reading the other reviews I realized he should have shown us the property and then run our credit and I should have noticed that he did not even ask which house I was applying for. There was another guy there at the office and with him Mike was being polite and professional, at this point I thought that he was misogynistic. The only nice thing he did was give me an application for the second occupant that would be living with me which would be my mother-in-law. I talked to my husband about how Mike treated me and let me tell you he was not happy about it. I told him that he sounded british and my husband told me maybe he was just passive aggresive as he had met some british people that were like that as well. I brushed it off thinking maybe I was taking it too personal. I told my mother-in-law that she would have to drop off the application only and from there we would be set to see the property she was looking at. When she went there, she called my husband about how he started yelling at her for not having a ssn, that is unprofessional of him and on top that rude. We were desperate for my mother in law to find a home so we told her that we would put the second occupant under my husbands name. My husband and I went there but it was close, but for some reason the lights were on and the computer was on. We called the number provided at the office on the handle but no one picked up. Let me tell you that the office ours are Sat-Sun 12pm-4pm, we got there around 3pm sharp. We waited there a good 30 minutes and as I we were about to leave we saw Mike get out of the office from the back door, FUCKING WEASEL. He even saw us standing in front of the office waiting there but he just left. Let me just say we were desperate for this listing so my husband and I came back the next day during their business hours Mon-Fri 11am to 5pm. We were there early to beat anyone who wanted the house as he told me on our first encounter that there were many who wanted that home. NO ONE WAS FUCKING THERE!!! We called the number again and a miracle happened. MIKE FUCKING ANSWERED only to tell us that the they WERE FUCKING CLOSED!!!!! At this point we just didn't give a single fuck anymore. We looked up the business on Yelp and saw that others had a bad experience with this unprofessional, rude, misogynistic prick. Mike is a very nice guy on the phone and in person. But like the previous reviewer stated, this place is somewhat shady. They didn't do a full credit check on me, but they charged me $35 to see a list of homes available. After visiting 3 places in neighboring Ontario, I found them to be DUMPS. Okay, the last house might be worse. Supposedly built in 1910, the house had that tacky looking new stucco finish, weeds almost as tall as I am in the front yard (and I'm over 6 feet tall), and no large garage like the listing advertised. In fact, the houses did match the photos somewhat, but nowhere near matched the description. This place is definitely a legal scam, and buyer beware! read more

Can I give zero stars, please? Because this place doesn't even deserve ONE. Mike took my money for a credit check back in December when I was looking and said that I just happened to have the same score as the person that had an appointment with him before me... uh, no. He wouldn't even let me see the report! I ran my own credit for free and my score was higher than the one he said he ran. I only ever received one call back from him on a property I was interested in and it was because he thought I was a new "customer." When he realized that he'd already gotten my money, he rushed me off the phone and said one of his associates would be reaching out to me about the property... I never heard back from anyone. This place is a joke. Please don't waste your time. This happened to me back in December when I was in a very vulnerable state of mind. Now I live in Las Vegas and couldn't be happier, but this place and their scam still irk me. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!! read more

Well, what can I say about this business....I just received section 8 approval and was only interested in places that would accept section 8. Since section 8 only gives you two months to find something I felt desperate for help finding a place. So I looked online for some property management companies to see what was available. I ended up going to this place since I saw the name Mike on many of the searches I was inquiring about. I called him and ended up going in to see what he had. When I got there I told them that I am only looking for SECTION 8 and nothing else. I also told them that my credit was ruined my ex-husband divorced me and I was on a fixed income. After all that was said and done they told me that they could not guarantee anything. He said that it is easier to convince newer owners of taking section 8 than older ones. He said I would have to pay the $35.00 credit fee per applicant for him to give me any information on the places I was interested in. I did find him off of craigslist, realtor, and some other sites as well. I thought well he said he had been successful in finding places, but sometimes it takes time. I ended up giving him the money so I can find a place quick. So when he gave me a printout of the ones that were available I told him three that I was interested in. He then says ok go drive by the area to make sure it's where you want to be. He said I may not like the neighbors or the area. The area I was looking at was a place I have known for over 20 years, so I didn't need to drive by and check out anything, I just needed to see the inside. He told me that there were many applications in for those and the owner has to pick someone and there is no time limit. He sits at his desk all day and does the MLS printouts. They are the same as realtor.com. He said that he would have to call the ones I am interested in to see if they would take section 8, but my credit score wasn't acceptable. WTF, He constantly contradicts himself and tries to justify his actions/responses. He also wanted me to come into the office every week for a printout. He doesn't do emails, which is strange. I ended up telling him off but he would not refund my money. He did not do his job at all. I should have known this was BS. I ended up going online to some other places and found some more places that were just for SECTION 8. I also found the listings he had on some of the sites and ended up finding a number to contact them directly. I found out that I got a hold of the people within the same day and got my questions answered. I ended up finding a place and didn't have to spend a dime to do it myself. lesson learned! I was looking for houses in Ontario to rent for my aunt, who's relocating from LA to the area. I saw three Ontario listings on Craigslist from this company that fit into my aunt's profile so I called. Because of my aunt's tight schedule and special arrangement for transportation, she can only come this Sunday to look at houses. When I called the day before, I explained our situation to Mike on the phone. Mike told me they don't show properties until they've checked the customers' credits and verified their income. It costs $35 per person for the credit check, which is fine. On the phone, I had specifically asked Mike that if he'll be able to show us those three houses the same day once he's checked and verified her credit and income. I told him specifically because of my aunt's situation, we will need him to open the houses the same day after the credit check. He did tell me yes, and he said his office is open from 12 to 4 on Sunday and it's "first-come first-serve basis". So on Sunday we walked into their office with my aunt and my uncle at 12:10, we were the first ones there. Mike gave us the application, we paid $70 for the credit check, and we showed him the bank statements. After waiting in the lobby for more than half an hour, he came back only to tell us that their credits are good. He gave us some print-outs from MLS and a business card for one of his agents, who will supposedly call us the NEXT DAY to schedule appointment for showing houses. I told him that we're here specifically to see the three houses he had on Craigslist and I was told that he'll be able to open the houses for us once he checked the credits. He totally denied it and told us that we can drive by those houses, and then the agent will call us. That is absolutely ridiculous because my husband is a real estate agent, and all the properties Mike printed out for us are already on the list that we're planning to visit. We just needed someone to open the houses!! After I reminded him our conversation on the phone, he then said if it's a Monday or Tuesday MAYBE they could show the houses the same day, but it's not gonna happen on a Sunday. I finally realized he intentionally misled me on the phone so we prospects could walk into his office like fish swim into the net. That basically made our visit a complete waste of the precious and limited time my aunt had. Then we asked that if we can at least get a copy of the credit reports. He at first said no...he couldn't give it to us. And he said we're misinformed if we think he has to give the reports to us (that we paid $70 for). Then after my husband kept digging, he said he'll only give them to us when we decided to terminate the "relationship with their agent" because they don't get compensated if their agent drives around showing houses to us but we go rent somewhere else with the credit reports...that we paid for!! In the end he said we could just take it right now if we'd like, but that means no agent is going to help us. We of course gladly took the option. On top of misleading phone call and changing stories, what made the whole thing so much worse is his attitude. We asked questions politely and professionally, but he was totally being rude while answering our questions. Great customer servicer. Competition is tough for apartments. That means good credit and if you don't have that how is that anyone 's fault but your own. My son is moving out for the first time and all he got is help from Mike. That is not so easy with an overbearing mother like myself. I'm looking to rent a place, and saw 'Mike's' name come up on several listings. No agency name, no website, just a phone number. I called and left a message, and he called back. I asked if the property was still available, and he told me it was. I asked if I could schedule an appointment to come by and see the property - the address was not listed on the craigslist ad. (After searching through more of Mike's posts, I saw that this was common - only listing the map view, and not the address). Mike told me that I would have to come by and drop off an application first, which I thought was strange. I've rented for years, and I have never had a company that wanted a tenant to apply for a property they haven't seen even DRIVEN BY, let alone seen the inside of. He then informed me I would have to pay $35 for the credit check before I could even see the property. I asked him why I would want to apply for a property I hadn't even seen yet, which I might not even like, to which he said "Well, there's no point in you even going to look at it if you can't qualify". The idea of not being allowed to see a place until I've paid is preposterous. Put simply, this company wants you to pay to see their listings. They don't put addresses on their ads, and force you to pay before letting you see any property you might be interested in. Avoid at all costs. Real property management companies would much rather have you drive by the property and view the inside before even investing time in running your application. read more

Rule to to renting any units and or house in ones life time is to see the place First. Ask the person doing Credit Checks if its a hard hit or soft hit on your credit report. Desperate will ruin your credit so get your own credit report what is the same as theirs, nothing different. Honest people will let you know that during your journey to putting a roof over your head. The guy mike is very rude. At first he acts like he cares and he can get you in a place fast. Seems like he probably makes all his money from getting people to do applications. Seems like the properties he advertises aren't even his and he just takes the money acting like he has connections with the property owners. I don't understand what people are complaining about? I don't have great credit but I also don't have bad credit. This is a no brainer. I pay a one time credit check for $35 and I am allowed to not only get a copy of my credit, but I can apply to multiple properties without hurting my credit score. I was worried about this company at first because of the bad reviews, but this company has been around for over 9 yrs and are licensed through a brokers license. If they were a scam, I'm sure they wouldn't be around anymore. When I was in the office, I did hear a person complaining about not getting a place, but I did overhear that he had a pit bull and a lot of home owners don't like to accept them because of insurance purposes. Which I totally understand. I heard mike tell him that the landlord will take him but not the dog, but the guy said he wouldn't give up the dog. I will never understand how people would rather be homeless than to get rid of their animals. Before coming here, I went to another company that wanted to charge me over $135 for the same service, and they didn't have a license. When I investigated that company, I found out that they are a listing agency and not a broker like inland asset. They were also very negative about inland asset management which I don't like. I think if a company is good, they don't need to put others down. Not professional. I'm happy to say that going through inland asset management was something any smart person would do. Yes, I didn't get chosen on a couple properties, but I've been beat by others with more money and better credit before. I must have looked at about 7 houses and was accepted on 2. I'm happy. This company got my family into a beautiful home w/ in a couple of weeks. My husband is self employed & they we're very helpful in matching us up w/ the right place. Our landlord is the nicest guy. He set us up w/ light bulbs and dryer sheets when we moved in, and if anything ever goes wrong he's here w/ in 24 hours fixing it. I really couldn't be happier w/ my home or landlord. We were hesitant to use this company because of the reviews, but it was definitely one of the best decisions we've ever made. These guys rule! read more

Luckily, I read these reviews before I went. But I still wanted to see for myself, Saw a place in Upland I wanted to check out on Craigslist. It had a few pics, but didn't have any pics of the rooms. I just wanted to see the place, to see if I was even interested. I followed the ad and called to schedule the appointment. The phone number didn't work, that should have been the first sign. I decided to stop by to make the appointment and it was a lil sketchy. Mike seemed like he just rolled out of bed. The office is old and dusty, but I wasn't going to be living at his office, so whatevs. I told Mike I wanted to see the place and he said we needed to do a credit check on all parties before seeing the place. I believe he said it would $75.00 each. I was like, but I don't even know if I'm interested in the property. Why would I have you run my credit. He said some story about the owners are really picky about who they let see the place...I have good credit, my credit isn't a problem. But that whole thing sounded sketchy and that's not how things are typically done. You are shown the property first and decide if you interested and proceed from there. He's a con artist.... save your time and money and look elsewhere. read more

With Inland Management, we found a great place and neighborhood to live in with a school nearby as well, which is perfect for my kids. My husband and I have tried visiting this office 3 times in the last 2 weeks. First time, there was a sign on the door stating to call a number for assistance. Number was called and Mike answered saying he couldn't open that day due to an emergency but that the next day he would be open normal hours. We went back 2 days later during business hours, lights were on, door was locked and we called the number on the sign again. No answer. We gave up and left. Same day about 2 hours later we came back, called the number, no answer again. We left a couple of messages. We saw a other listing recently and were excited about it because it seemed perfect for us, but a bummer when we saw who the listing agent was, MIKE. We said ok lets see what happens. We both called, left another message and 2 business days later still no reply. Reading these reviews it all makes sense now. At first we thought, due to COVID, some business may need to adjust their schedules and what not. Then we started to think he is just so unprofessional. Now I can see just how much of scammer this guy may be. I'm glad I'm reading these reviews now before I actually gave this guy my business. I contacted Mike at the end of May regarding properties listed on Craigslist. I explained to him that I was relocating from Florida and needed to move to California by June 15th. I also let him know that I had a family member who would view the property on my behalf. Mike seemed very helpful and eager to make me feel comfortable about the whole process. He was nice on the phone and seemingly honest, that was until after I paid the $35 each for the credit check for my wife and me. The next day I got an email from Mike with 12 available properties in my price range with links to images. I replied to him telling him which 3 properties I was interested in and the communications stopped. No phone calls, no replies to my messages, no replies to my emails. I can't recommend anyone looking to rent in California ever deal with Inland Management. Seems to me they just collect the $35/person and do nothing to help you move in to any of these properties. The gentlemen who helped was very straight forward and didn't waste my time or his- His fiduciary responsibility is why we went with them and not another rental management company. I spoke with Mike on the phone and told him I was coming from Los Angeles to complete the paperwork the next day. I got there at about 9:45 and they opened at 10:00. A note on the door said he would be back in 2 minutes. I waited 15 minutes then called the number and Mike said he would be there in 5 min. Why was he late you ask? He needed a Starbucks run. I filled out all my information. Gave him my $35 for credit check and my score seemed crazy low even though this past year I have been clearing it up. He gave me a list of places to go look at. Which I wouldn't want my worst enemy to live at. I was to also fax him one more pay stub and the numerous letters stating collections were paid. This was to avoid paying triple move in costs. I had to call Mike about 6 times before he answered just so I could get an acknowledgment that he received the fax that I just paid $13 to send. He said yea he got it and if I had any questions call him back. I was in awe. So I called now to get a status update about my app and what I qualify for and yep, no answer. I am hoping they are registered with BBB so I can make a formal complaint. I seriously have never felt so vulnerable and ripped off. Stay far far away. read more

TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE Inland Asset is direct and to the point. Once I moved in, I got to keep my credit score. If you listen and follow instructions, you may get the property you want. After running a full credit report, driving by the listings given, and telling my agent which one's I liked was pretty easy. After e-mailing him to request new listings, he would e-mail me new ones :)!!!! super easy. Then I had to wait till he spoke to the owner's agent to see if I would qualify. The key was in keeping in-touch with my agent... he was able to find me a great lease for a good $$$ and a good property. The owner chose me because I had a good security deposit ...even though my credit was ok. Mike is VERY direct and gives all the printouts of several properties the same day you I applied. Also, the credit check is a one time fee - super cheap...for all the stuff they do. My agent worked around my schedule -- super fast with e-mail and I only saw properties I qualified for TO NOT WASTE MY TIME. Totally recommend this place if you want direct service and someone to not waste your time. I saw the other comments from Paul K... nice dog pix *Seem's like a friendly office to me ;) ... which they are!!! Too bad that other girl's hubby who's a realtor could not open up the places for his wife to have a look inside. Also.... it would be a good idea to not wait last minute to find a place to live... life happens.... but to leave everything to the last minute is just too risky for all; It's a place to live!
