Extremely Pricey... like they r Union stores up north... Aldis in blairsville is Definitely the best option

Ingles is a grocery store chain in North Carolina. It felt like a cross between Publix and Winn-Dixie except it also had a Starbucks inside. The prices from what I saw seemed to be pretty average, although a few products were higher than expected. I honestly wouldn't be able to say much except that in the town of Murphy, this seems to be the bougie market. It's either this or Walmart far out. No complaints really. I bought instant coffee for later, not to mention I drank a pumpkin spice latte at their Starbucks, where the staff was really pleasant. read more

Great store, their prices are extreme. I get certain items here, but Walmart is cheaper for the same thing.

Everything about this store in Murphy is wonderful! The people are friendly and the store is very clean and stocked

Some produce is ridiculously expensive. Generally 1/3 more or double the Walmart price. There will be a big sale sign on tomatoes and when you check out, you are charged dollar or two more a lb. Also the non store brands a buck or several more than at Walmart. I realize they are smaller and can't compete, but what I buy there is very limited, or the Laura Lyn store brand Most retirees here are on a budget. read more

Nice store but overpriced. DO NOT eat their Chinese food in the deli. First time awful, but thought they just had a bad day so tried it again. BIG mistake. Sick for days. Tasted terrible. Overcooked and so salty! Threw most of it away both times. Waste of money. read more

Very clean store. They always have stock and it's easy to find everything on your list. Customer service associates are great.

They almost always have the items in stock that I go in there for, but some of their prices are outrageous! (A jar of Miracle Whip in Walmart is $5.48, and Ingles is around $9.00)! read more

We were in the area on a romantic vacation picking up supplies, and were happy to see a very nice laid-out store. Along the lines of a Harris Teeter or Giant Eagle, it had a huge selection and good-looking food. Upon stating we didn't want to waste time getting a subscription, she barked, "They don't allow us to scan a card, oh well." It's one thing to try and get customers, but having visitors pay more means we will not be back. We don't have the time or need to fill out some stupid form, and it is rude to have people pay more just for a subscription we will most likely use twice in a lifetime. Find somewhere else that is kinder to visitors. read more

Never had we heard of or visited any Ingles food chain prior to our NC trip. They're a small but very diverse store. I was able to find latin seasonings here that I couldn't locate at Walmart or any other stores we stopped at. The store is well organized and things are easy to locate. The staff were very nice and helpful at this location. read more

If I ever move to North Carolina I will do all my grocery shopping here. And not just because there isn't anywhere else to get groceries. There isn't, but that's not the main reason. The store is clean. The people are friendly AND they have a Starbucks!!!!! That might not sound like a big deal but this is Murphy, NC. They don't have Starbucks here. For me, this was huge! And they have Trappey's! I can't find it in Florida. I'm bringing two bottles back with me. If you don't know what it is, that's sad for you. read more

This Ingles is usually kept clean and organized. The staff is friendly and helpful if you need to ask question. They always have multiple registers open, so you don't have to wait forever to checkout. The prices and selection of products are both decent. They run sales or specials on items, so you can get good deals. read more

Admittedly, I'm super picky about grocery stores and live in an area with a vast array of choices. Visiting Murphy for the first time, I hopped on yelp to find a place to grab a few basics. I was skeptical when I saw the rave reviews for Ingles, but WOW did this place live up to the hype. I downloaded the store app and getting their shopper's card was a breeze. This store rivals the best stores where I typically shop (Houston area) and then some. Not your typical small town grocery by any means. read more

Best grocery store in the area! Staff is always helpful and talkative. Selection is outstanding for a grocery in this small mountain town. If the lines are long they will open up registers ASAP! I bet you've never had that happen in Walmart! Just plain old good customer service. Oh and they've got a Starbucks kiosk too! The only negative is their slopped parking lot, make sure you park where your car won't get hit but a runaway grocery cart! It's rare but it does happen. read more

This is an upscale market, with prime products and produce! The store is spotless and well organized. The employees are friendly and well trained. I was buying some Boars Head Bourbon sandwich meat. The person waiting on me cut a sample and insisted I taste before making the decision and was very precise about the thickness I chose. It also has a well manned Starbucks with friendly anxious to please employees. Thank you Harlie and Leah. We even found Rainer cherries, the first since leaving Seattle. I visited this store only once as a guest in town. It was clean and bright. We went looking for something specific that other stores didn't have. The first guy in meats area didn't think they had it but he went to ask another worker, and guess what. That guy went straight the item we were looking for. To my surprise, I found another food item that is hard to find in my area, so it turned out to be a really good trip to the store. read more

I have a love / hate relationship with this Ingles. I love that I have an American option for shopping rather than getting stuck always going to Wal-Mart. I hate Wal-Mart. However, I find the people filling the shelves don't always give 100%. I often must check the dates on everything I grab. I will say the people filling the milk do a great job rotating. The cashiers are friendly. There was one cashier who had no clue, she could not tell one pear from another and decided to charge me anjou 2.49 lb for 1,98 Bartlett. Then she argued with me. Hopefully she won't be around long. Sure hope a Publix comes soon. read more

Went to Ingles the other day and one of the ladies in the deli sneezed very loud and pulled her mask away from her face when she sneezed. Then burst out laughing. The rest of the crew laughed also. Pretty disgusting working around food and especially during a pandemic. If they do that right out in the open, what is going on behind the scenes. read more

I like this place, sweet and clean, got everything you need. It's like a mall in Murphy. Awesome Ingles coffee, make sure you get the Ingles brand - Hawaiian Coconut flavor. There's even a Starbucks inside the store if you don't want to brew your own. read more

We love Ingles. We have a cabin here, and we come into town every couple weeks. We shop Ingles for all our food while we are here. We even pick up extras and take them back to Florida because their prices are so much lower than what we are used to...however, I was shocked at the prices of their steaks and walked away without buying any meat because the price was higher than I would pay for. I just don't remember the prices for NY Steak, Ribeye, etc., being so high in the past...as high as $15.99 a pound. I will keep an eye on their prices in the future. read more

I shop at Ingles for several reasons, 1 the bonus points for gas and the other alternative is Wally World But I have noticed a lot of new faces lately working there... Management.. PLEASE..train these people better before putting them out on the floor, Example: the lady at the deli was not sure which direction to slice the meat I was ordering, dud....I would think after washing your hands that would be the 2 and thing you would learn, ..no sample or ask me how I wanted it sliced, ???? Example : 2 Your customer service in the Meat department is horrible... I thought ingles had a butcher, nope !!! I asked for a piece of pork to be cut into a smaller size, after the new employee, fussed that if he cut it in half they would have to throw the other half away, , he cut it in protest and threw the other half aside as if it was already trash, .....I bet he wrapped it up and sold it....I thought ingles had a butcher on site if not at least post something stating that you do not cut orders or break packages.... ..Yet the girls at Starbucks are stellar, love them I wish ingles would let me tip them.... So I will continue to go but please work with your newbies on customer service, after all it's my dime your paying them. .. read more

I love Ingles. It's a nice, somewhat upscale grocery store for the area and very pleasant to shop there. I like the fact that if they have an error on the price of the products when they ring them up, and you catch it, you get the item for free. We've gotten some nice bargains by paying attention. That said, I have had an ongoing issue with thier frozen food department, buying items that are burned and filled with ice. I brought this to their, and the main office's attention but I don't see any improvement. Now if I am choosing a frozen bag of anything, I will feel for ice and avoid those items and actually go to a different local grocery store for some frozen items.. If they could get their act together in that area, I would give them 5 stars. read more

Love this place for all my groceries in town. They carry boars head lunch meat, the only lunch meat we eat. Also their seafood is pretty fresh. Customer service is great! I'd have given 5 stars but they dont carry sea bass and I have to go to blairsville ingles to get it. read more

Just purchased 2 hamburger patties, 100% beef. I decided to make 3 hamburgers out of the 2 patties, and when I broke one in half, the meat inside was brown. The meat in both patties was brown and Ingles covered over them with fresh red meat to hide the brown meat. If we had just put them on the grill the way they were, we would have never known the deceitfulness of Ingles trying to hide old brown hamburger meat. What a way to treat loyal customers who have shopped at that store for almost 8 years :( read more

plenty of cashiers is a plus. having a STARBUCKS is a plus. they have good deli food and Nice clean restrooms that are always stocked with plenty of toilet paper and soap and paper towels! They have good sales. Double coupons on coupons up to 50 cents. I have also gotten free items several times because I memorize prices in my head and then pay attention when they are being rung up. If something does not ring up the price that it said on the shelf then you get it for free. I did not know that they did that so the first time this happened i was shocked but happy. It was like 2 boxes of cereal for free. ON 1 occasion though i was at self check out, and my drinks did not ring up the right price, i told the lady. Instead of getting the manager, she just adjusted the price. I went with it, didn't want to argue with her and didn't have the time. The only thing i truly hate, is that the people who stock shelves do not pay attention to outdated items. Not good to be in a hurry and go in and grab something off the shelf only to get home and realize it's out of date! read more
