This was my least favorite winery of the weekend and maybe ever. We very much disliked all the wines and the service was incredibly slow. I had a special reservation made for my mother's retirement on our Christmas vacation to Napa for their upgraded Library Legacy Tasting. I also chose Coppola wineries as my mother's father was 1 of the personal doctors for Howard Hughes and my grandparents knew Mr Coppola personally as he and Howard we deeply involved in the film industry together. We were very excited for the experience with the wines and the property. When we arrived they informed us they could not find the reservation or the charge for the reservation and would not be able to accommodate us. I was confused and thought maybe there was a error in whoever I spoke with and placed the reservation. We opted to stay because we had driven all that way. As we sat at the bristo and got wine with a charcuterie board and other small snacks. I looked at my bank account and there was a charge for the 269.00 from Inglenook. I went to the front desk and said I did have a charge and they confirmed the charge amount looked to be the right amount for a library tasting. The woman gave me the card of the manager and said to call him on Monday and he could refund us the charge as there was confusion about the reservation. I have been playing phone tag with him for almost a year because he is constantly out of the office. I called again last Friday and he would not be in till Tuesday. Tuesday rolled around and by 11am I still had not received a call. When I called and inquired about the confusion, charge and refund he said that I had made a reservation for Nov not Dec. I told him that was a error made by his staff at booking and I was also informed by his staff I would be able to get a refund for the tasting. He refused to give me a refund, apologies or take any responsibility for the actions of his, his establishment or staff with the mistake. Saying I had received a email with the incorrect date and I did not rectify it and I was 100% responsible for missing my appointment. I told him I understood and accepted my half of the responsibility in I did not in detail look over the email sent to me, but where was his responsabily in the mishandling of the reservation and verbal agreement I could get a refund for the tasting. I am mortified and disappointed at Inglenook in allowing their manager to operate as he is, his handling and demeanor towards me. He was so rude and unapologetic for any part he or his staff played in this whole experience up untill the very moment he cursed under his breath and hung up on me. Please take your money else where if you value a quality experience such as Chateau Montelena and Castillo de Amorosa among others top wineries. read more

We went to the Bay Area's most historic and breathtaking winery on a Sunday afternoon and we're so happy that we did! We got their library tasting in their Athenaeum, which was gorgeous and brightly lit. The wines we thoughtfully crafted and paired well with the cheese and crackers given. The rubicon was my favorite of the wines. I did feel like the summary of the history of the winery was a bit rushed and I hope the server slows down and gives more details next time I go! It was truly one of the most stunning locations I've been to and I'm definitely coming back for a guided tour through their museum of wine making (since 1879!), film (owned by the Coppola family) and the cave (fancy storage!) as well as eating at their gorgeous bistro. read more

We visited Napa back in September and I'm finally getting around to leaving my reviews! Better late than never. We visited Inglenook for a bistro reservation. You can get coffee or wine by the glass and sit outside in the garden. The weather was beautiful and you could hear all of the birds chirping and fountains running. We got up and wandered around the grounds and explored the inside museum area as well. Very fun little spot to still have some wine, but take a breather from all of the wine tastings. They also have a speakeasy-esque bar to order from inside for the garden, so it was just a really fun experience. read more

Fantastic wines and gorgeous grounds. Make sure you have your QR code ready to scan at the gate in order to enter. Although finicky there is a number you can call if you have any troubles getting inside. Our party of 6 made with one designed driver had reservations for the heritage tasting. We were lucky enough to sample two rubicons, 2010 and 2019 which was a special treat. Peggy our incredibly knowledgeable and fantastic storyteller made this experience all the better. Her storytelling interweaved the history of the estate and land with the different wines. The 2019 rubicon especially stood out to me in its bold plum flavor and and sweet finish. This wine was easy to drink and incredibly smooth. We learned that the grapes that go into rubicon aren't a specific variety or blend but rather feature the best fruit of that year. Walking in the grounds in an experience in itself the large stained glass window at the top of the stairs does a great job of blending the rich history of the land with FCC commitment to restoring the estate. Such a breathtaking venue! Came here for a work event and was jaw dropped. Looked like a movie wedding venue. We had a string quartet, beautifully set tables among a waterfall backdrop, and wine servers. The food was delicious and the service was next to none. Sattui, and fourth was Cakebread). Loved the ambience here - feels like you're exploring a castle. It's a beautiful estate, and very old. They have wines from the 1800's. The wine tasting experience itself was good, but the checkout experience was terrible. I brought my family, and their English isn't very good. My dad bought three bottles of wine, and when he was paying with his credit card, the machine asked for a tip. The staff member stood right next to him, constantly pushing him to add a tip, saying "You need to choose a tip" over and over. I didn't have time to explain to my dad that you're not required to tip when buying wine, and because she kept pressuring him, he ended up adding a 15% tip. Later, when we went to pay for the wine tasting fee, it was my turn to use the machine. I noticed something was off with the total price, but again, the same staff member kept rushing me, saying I needed to choose a tip in order for the card to go through. She didn't give us any time to review the bill and kept standing there staring at us. In the end, I realized we only had five people, but she charged us for six. When I pointed it out, she just casually said, "Oh, my mistake," and went to fix the bill. Honestly, it felt like we were being tricked. And when she came back and had me swipe my card again, she still stood right next to me watching the whole time. The by the glass menu you can order their flagship wine for $45 a glass which is quite a steal. There is something for everyone and you get to sit at the patio overlooking the fountain. I was excited to visit Inglenook. I didn't have my dog with me and Inglenook is not dog friendly so it was the first time in a long time that I was even able to visit here. I made a reservation and received a QR code to scan to enter into the gate upon arrival. I didn't end up needing it as the gate was open when I got there. The winery also requests smart casual attire at the Chateau. I arrived about 15 minutes before my tasting, so I ended up walking around and enjoying the grounds before following the signs to check-in for my wine tasting experience. I booked the Estate Library Tasting ($125) which also came with some cheese, nuts, and a spread. The Chateau is really beautiful with a lot of old-world charm leading to a refined, yet welcoming environment to enjoy wine. My host was very knowledgeable and kind. Have you ever thought about where you'd want to celebrate a special occasion like a big birthday party, wedding, etc? Honestly, the only criteria was that the winery had to be aesthetic, and let me tell you, Inglenook did not disappoint. Our reservation was simple -- we did not reserve a tour or a set tasting menu, just a table and ordered wines that were recommended by our host. We were able to do a "self-guided" tour since many areas of the chateau was open to public without special reservation. The hanging greens on the facade, the "medieval" interior design, and the fountain garden is a perfect setting for any events. Yes, this review is mainly judging on the "potential" of the place, but I've seen many great reviews that prove our expectation. Nonetheless, our experience with our host was fantastic. Walking around and inside the chateau while sipping on our wine was a pleasant experience. This is the third time I've been here - I really like how calm the place is. Even better is the fact that you're not required to do a tasting. They have a "bistro experience" where you can order a glass of wine and snacks to enjoy while you relax on the grounds. Our friends recommended Inglenook as a good stop with our son. We had a bistro reservation at 11 on a Friday and it was nice - we practically had the place to ourselves. My son and husband took the wooden boats they had to the fountain the play and explored the front area a bit. We then had wine and my son wanted brie and a mini baguette. My Sauvignon Blanc and Rose were great. My son really enjoyed the brie and it came with orange marmalade made from fruit from the property. We were lucky to come here on Sunday RIGHT BEFORE the glass fire and we are so happy we did!!! The grounds are just stunning. So romantic. So peaceful. So elegant. Perfect for pictures. Perfect for Instagram ;) The wine was very very good. The tasting was a bit on the pricier side (60 a person) but it included 4 glasses and some nice cheese to pair them with. It was a beautiful experience and definitely worth the money in my opinion. After the amazing tasting, we bought a bottle of our favorite wine (the Zinfandel) and had it in the grounds. First winery visit of the day and on our 2021 Napa getaway. Beautiful winery that had outdoor tasting during the pandemic. It was very peaceful and the wine tasted great. Received a great history lesson on the Inglenook brand and how Francis Ford Coppola acquired the name and vineyard. We enjoyed the tasting enough to buy several bottles to ship back home. After the tasting we were allowed inside to do a self guided tour. The interior was simply lovely and we wished we were able to do the tasting inside. Inglenook is such an interesting winery! First off, the wine is very good (albeit expensive) and we really enjoyed our glasses of wine and exploring the grounds. We've also had several other Inglenook wines since we've been here and they have also been very good. It's a fascinating exploration through film history and it was an unexpected find to stumble upon. I am in shock that this place has 4 stars. I came here for my birthday, 3 :45 pm appointment and after the tasting I asked to revisit a Cabernet, because I wanted to buy a bottle and was considering to be a member here but they denied my splash. It was an extremely rushed experience! Pro: good wine Con: terrible service, Zack please do better No I will not be a member here and I will continue my membership at Louis Martini where they treat you well and don't rush you. As far for the ambiance it's an old building giving French and Arabic vibes which is not too bad. All I ask is please don't rush folks, we are all traveling and wanting a nice experience for whatever reason. SMH I will continue to explore other experiences. read more

Amazing and Wonderful. Must do FULL tour, not just tasting. The entire wine selection of tastings were better than most others in Napa. The Cab S is world is world renowned. The full tour includes seeing the entire 19th century estate rooms with elements of 19th century wine making in the buildings. Francis Ford Coppola has added museum quality features throughout, including his historical film collection (this historical collection is better than the Los Angeles Film Academy Museum's). We have been to Inglenook once before and remembered that we enjoyed it, so we decided to come again. The tasting area is pretty cool. There are different tasting rooms and it's kinda like a cave, even though it's ground level. We had the Heritage Tasting for 2 and it came with cheese and crackers! How awesome is that!? Inglenook transports you back to another time. This was the most recommended place by friends when asking them about where to visit during 3 days in wine country. I'm thankful my SO had the foresight to call and make a reservation for us (they're required by the way). We arrived at the property in Napa to find ourselves looking at a huge vineyard at the front of the property and as we drove up, a giant gate that felt like we were entering a movie lot or at least a very special place. We parked and saw that there are a few things connected to the main building...a cafe with wine, drinks, and bites, the main building and wine cellar that we would tour, and the gift shop. We opted for the tour and tasting and couldn't have been happier. Our tour guide and sommelier led the way, telling us the fantastical story of the property and of the Coppola's taking over. At the end of the tour we had a tasting of many amazing wines and cheese pairings - it was really impressive! Especially when sitting in a room stacked with original bottles. After we sat and enjoyed more wine in the courtyard by the cafe. I felt like I was transported to somewhere in Europe and it was magical. I wished we didn't have more appointments do that we could have stayed longer. If you're coming up to Napa, this is a MUST on your wine list! read more

Absolutely loved my time at Inglenook. The sitting area is shady and cool and got to enjoy a crisp Sauvignon Blanc and more. The kids got to play by the fountain pool. We first experienced Inglenook when they were formally known as Rubicon. We received a one year membership as a wedding gift. We absolutely fell in love with the wines. The wines even back in 2006 were expensive, but for the most part well worth the price. Now, the vineyard is spectacular. It's probably one of the most stunning vineyards we have ever visited. When you first walk through the entrance, you will be in the foyer. You will see the beautiful staircase leading you to the museum with various collections of Francis Coppola's movies. Their wine tasting experience is expensive ($55 per person) unless of course you are a member. Fortunately for us, we are members so our wine tasting is free...one of a few nice perks we get as members. Their wines are a little over priced, in my opinion. Their wines are exceptional but you are definitely paying for the name as well. If you are wine tasting in Napa Valley, then I believe this place should be on your list to go, if for no other reason, at least to see their beautiful vineyard. read more

This is my second time here and the last time was amazing. It's a beautiful estate and rubicon is a great wine. My problem this trip is at the coffee shop there were several kids running around playing like it was a play ground. This should never happen this is a winery not a place for children running around with no shoes on playing tag. I've never seen any children at any winery in nappa until today at inglenook. There were three employees working in the area and they said nothing to the several parents letting there children act in this manner. read more

Visiting Napa valley and found it so difficult to narrow down our selections of which wineries to visit. Inglenook made the short list in a large part due to the rich history and beautiful property. The property was all I hoped, the film history and memorabilia was so informative such a talented family and the history on display told their story so well. Our tasting was a bit pricier than others but included a nice tray of cheese and crackers. The server was very knowledgeable and we really enjoyed her presentation of the wines and time that she took with us. Everything was 5star ....until our very last tasting. The wines were wonderful and there was this lovely slow build up to the last "special" wine being poured but it was brought out in a decanter.... not poured from bottle and the bottle wasn't presented! I am by no means a wine expert but the bottle is without doubt part of the experience of tasting the wines for me. This has never happened at a tasting I've been to before and wish now I had asked about it. If the only purpose of this winery visit was the wine tasting I would have rated lower but again everything else was so enjoyable and the property itself was a reason for the visit as well. read more

One has to drive through the gate entrance to get into the wine venue and vineyards. It's a very classy style to make an entrance. The front yard, lies the vineyard, outdoor seating with sunshine and a bountiful fountain. It was beautiful to stare at and green to be in bliss of. The venue is like a mansion and very spacious.
