Chicken gorgonzola tortellini
Darren O.

Tried Tacoma's version of the Soup Nazi. So good! I tried the spicy ham and collard greens and the chicken marsala. Both were outstanding. I wish the marsala had either a pasta noodle of some type or potato in it. Regardless, it was great. The ham and greens was really good too. Looking for it to be a little saltier, but still excellent. The chicken gorgonzola tortellini is phenomenal. No need to adjust anything here. Also tried the creamy sausage and garlic soup, also perfect. The pozole tasted great, just like what I make. Almost exactly. Props to me for making it as good as this place! Top tier soup take out! So good!

Great flavor and solid variety, and I love that their bread comes from local sources. Customer service is hit or miss. My first visit was great, but every time after that, when I've dealt with a woman with long dark hair and black glasses, she's come across rushed, short, and cold. It feels like you're inconveniencing her just by ordering. Those interactions make it hard to want to come back. This makes the ambiance not the best.

Infinite Soups is always amazing, and today's fabulous lunch didn't disappoint: lemon-pesto tortellini, 3-cheese potato, spicy Thai tofu, mushroom gorgonzola tortellini ... and delicious biscuits. And thank you for your work in the community, especially today's commitment to donating 50% of proceeds to Tacoma Community House. You feed the stomach, the soul, and the community!

I love Infinite Soups and I'm so glad I found this place via Yelp. It's a small little take-and-go counter, cash only. The soup list is on the counter or on Facebook, when a soup sells out, it's gone until next time. Besides soup, they have some cool other stuff for sale, like records. Take as many crackers as you want, honor system. The staff is friendly, and more importantly, Infinite Soups is a good neighbor, meaning they participate in fundraisers for local causes and support other local businesses. But, most important of all, the soups are legit. I'm a soup lover and I've tried quite a few of their soup offering and they have all been delicious! My favorites so far have been the Chicken Pozole Verde and the Spicy Hungarian Sausage, I'm looking forward to trying the Korean Potato Stew. I'll warn you, if you order a spicy soup, it's going to be spicy, they're not playing around! And I like it that way!

One of the highlights of my last trip to Washington was visiting Infinite Soups in Tacoma, Washington. Owners Wendy Clapp and Todd Deshazo managed The News Tribune cafeteria prior to creating Infinite Soups. Their soups were by far their most popular item. They started by selling their soup at a weekly farmers market. They opened their brick and mortar location at 445 Tacoma Ave. S. in 2007. Over the years, Infinite Soups has offered more than 1500 different types of soup. They create an estimated 100 new soup recipes each year. Clapp states, "I think soup is a democratic food, you know? Every culture eats soup. Every income level eats soup. Everybody eats soup!" The soups offered include traditional soups from all over the world. The soups are made from produce sourced from Zestful Gardens, a small organic farm and CSA in the Puyallup Valley, near Tacoma. Infinite Soups offers 17-20 soups that are made from scratch every day. There are four categories available: Creamy, Non-Creamy, Vegetarian, and Vegan. If you want to have the most options available to you, you need to get there before 1 PM. For my first visit on 5/17/24, I arrived about an hour before the store closed. There were just 5 options left, none of which were my preferred Creamy style soup. The young man working behind the counter, kindly offered to let me sample all five, and I did. They were all EXCELLENT! I had a hard time deciding which one to get and asked him which of these was his favorite. He recommended the Basil Artichoke (Vegetarian). I went with it. I got a 16 ounce size. Unfortunately, that late in the day there wasn't any fresh baked bread available, so I got crackers. There is no indoor seating at Infinite Soups, so I drove to nearby Dune Peninsula at Point Defiance Park. Even though the Basil Artichoke soup was Vegetarian, it was fairly creamy. The basil flavor was subtle. It tasted more like a great Artichoke soup. Now that I know about this wonderful business, I'll be sure to visit every time I'm in town. Highly Recommended!!! *Infinite Soups is a Cash-Only business. This place is consistently busy. There's indoor and outdoor seating. The building is a small house and has enough space for about 20-30 people inside. Probably another 20-30 if outdoor seating is available. You seat yourself or order from the front if hou are ordering takeout. Tables get cleaned immediately as soon as people leave. Service is quick and the workers are friendly. Their bánh mì đặc biệt (deluxe sandwich) and the cà phê sửa đá (iced condensed milk coffee) are my typical go-tos. The sandwich has layers of meat and portioned appropriately. The pâté adds a rich umami flavor and the Vietnamese bơ (mayo) gives it a buttery flavor. The veggies are always healthy and seem fresh. Also their jalapeños actually have a kick unlike most places I've been to. I recommend this staple to anyone looking for a solid Vietnamese sandwich in Tacoma. Great place to chill and have coffee to start your day. They have other foods like noodle soups, stews, and a rice plate. I haven't tried any of them, but it might be something I might look into in the future

I ordered the traditional mix beef bon broth soup with clear noodles and my bf got tofu soup with a side of dumplings. Tofu soup is ordinary! But the sullungtang is really rich and comfort. It was super cold outside so this soup was a perfect balance to it! The dumplings are well seasoned and the kimchi tho, do I need to say anything else? Tastes homemade and authentic! I will come back soon! Oh yeah don't forget to buy a jar of kimchi to bring home! Only $8.99 sooo good

We had ordered a seafood pancake, saw ours be given to another table that ordered later than us. We reminded the waitress once more and saw that one be given to another table as well. We reminded them one last time just to be told "it's coming." At that point, we have been dining in for 45 minutes, finished our soups and just ended up wanting to cancel that order (even though we were looking forward to it). We went up to the cash register and told the waitress to cancel the pajeon but she didn't believe us that it never came and that she had to check our table for herself. Not once were we ever checked up on, just overlooked and ignored... I want to say I like Yi's but I am apprehensive about coming back.

They play electro dance music and the TV just cycles between short clips of cities like Rio de Janiero. Nothing is particularly cohesive but service is very friendly and they show up where it counts, the food. Food: I'm an American born Chinese kid from California and the food here could go head to head with anything in San Diego or LA. The broth is clean and simple Chinese style soup, not too salty and perfectly reduced. They load the bowls with tons of protein and are very flexible with whatever combination of proteins you want. The cha sui is perfect with just the right amount of sweet glaze and a touch of char to keep it interesting. The roast pork has one of the crispiest skins I've had which you can just let soak in the broth to your desired consistency. The duck is moist, tender, and relatively meaty (sometimes restaurants source scrawny ducks which are mostly bone). The weakest part of dish is the which have that store-bought taste and could be fresher and slightly more al dente. Overall this some of the best Chinese BBQ I've had, as good as any major city I've been. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area!

If you're thinking about going, just go and be prepared to wait a little, but trust me, you won't regret it.

There were only a few tables inside but almost half of them were already occupied with several customers. I was quickly seated for a table of 1. I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but I did hear other customers comment at their tables that the food here is good. There's a few ajummas working here, so service was straightforward. I ordered the kalbi dolsot bibimbap, which seemed inexpensive and came with some complementary sides, and they were nice enough to cut my kalbi into bite-sized pieces for me.
