This is a small neighborhood spa, which is hard to come by these days. Usually the only options are a luxury spa or some place I would rather not be. Indu wellness is perfectly balanced in that you can go and get the services you need without all of the extra hustle and bustle. Just be sure to call in advance to schedule, especially if you want a couples massage. They usually book up quickly. I enjoyed my massage and my facial, and I would return in the future. The one thing that would have made this experience better is if the space you go to between services was a little more comfortable. I felt like I sat there awkwardly, when it would have been nice to recline, even just for 5 minutes. read more

I was recently treated to a massage at Indu Wellness after having a very, very busy month. I so appreciated the opportunity to take care of myself and check out a new-to-me local business. This little wellness studio is located in the developing Lauraville neighborhood right next to the new Cafe Campli. The inside is serene and the staff was welcoming. I had a one hour massage with Omnia. I immediately loved her vibe. She was super chill and funny and listened to my concerns. I told her I had a pretty busy and stressful month, so much so that I barely had time or energy to work out as consistently as I normally do (I went from weight lifting and cardio 3x a week and yoga 1x a week to barely making it into the gym three times in October). Then I went back to the gym and went a little too hard and was feeling it in my hamstrings and hips. This massage was unlike any massage I've had before. Mainly because it was a lot rougher than I normally like, but given all the tender spots and knots she was finding, I think I needed the deep tissue approach. I could literally feel Omnia working out knots and releasing tense areas. Some of which initiated a laughter response? Also something I hadn't experienced in a massage before. I'm really grateful for Omnia's approach. You can tell she is extremely intuitive and observational in her work. I booked my first ever facial a couple weeks ago and almost immediately regretted it because I'm introverted and a little touch averse, but I am very glad I did this. Sia was very skilled and I felt comfortable straight away. I just closed my eyes, relaxed, and felt like I'd had a meditation session at the end. And my skin feels so soft and clean! I appreciated the product recommendations at the end; I was worried I'd get a hard sell at the end for products and actually practiced how to say no, but Sia wrote down some products that she likes that are available retail and that was it. I went on New Year's Day for a 60 min massage with Omnia. She was wonderful and clearly has a lot of experience in the profession. The space was clean, beautiful, and calming, and Omnia made me feel comfortable. A couple things to know before you go, occasionally they have their front door locked which is understandable because if only one employee is in the building and they are in the middle of a session they don't want the front to just be open to anyone walking in when no one is there to greet them. They prefer you take your shoes off at the front and leave them by the desk to keep the space clean. The massage was hard pressure (which I like) but if you like it on the lighter side I would just make that clear to the masseuse :) this was my first time to Indu but I will definitely be back! read more

I had a Lymphatic Drainage Massage here done by Rachel. This was my first visit at Indu Wellness. I came on the strength of Google reviews. I cannot say enough ah-mazing things about this business and its service. Their prices are also reasonable. First, the whole place is a vibe! It is boutique-style and the aesthetics and theme were giving Anthropologie + Free People. I love Boho Chic interiors so I am biased . I loved the soft melodies, the accommodations, the serene nature of the establishment and service. The heated massage pads on the table felt sooo good; nothing like warm blankets and sheets during a treatment. Rachel was super dope! She took the time to discuss my personal details and educated me along the way. I felt extremely relaxed with her. The receptionist Claire was so nice and friendly. I've already booked my next appointment with Rachel. I recommend booking early because Rachel was already 4 weeks out. Note: Parking is a pain. There is paid parking on another street and free parking on a residential street. If it's your first time, allot at least 10 addtl minutes for parking and walking. Im a firefighter/paramedic and have a very physical and stressful job. I also work with a personal trainer to keep me in top shape for the job. As I've gotten older I know that recovery is important. And that is where Indu Wellness comes in. I decided at the beginning of the year to start routinely getting massages. I was happy to find Indu since it is so close to my home (less than 2 miles). I booked my first appointment 2 weeks in advance and not by choice. That's how "booked" they were according to the receptionist. I thought that would be okay considering I am trying out places all around the area. Fast forward to the day before my appointment and my personal trainer called and asked me if we can change times for our session and met before my massage. To play it safe my PT asked to see if I could schedule my massage it later. I knew this was a stretch but I called and left a vm with Indu. Sara from Indu called back and left a vm message that she could not accommodate that change. Therefore, I would have to keep my original appointment. Unfortunately, I had to cancel with my PT in order to make my massage appointment. Which at the time was okay because I prefer a massage to a grueling workout with my trainer any day. In addition I also called the day before the appt to confirm and I was told to come 30mins early to complete some paperwork. I show up to the appointment exactly 30mins before and the receptionist informs me that my appointment is not for another hour. And she also tells me, "I don't know what to do." She then text the owner. I guess the owner felt the same way and told her to tell me, "no we did call and change your appointment as requested." I then play the vm I received from Sara (Indu Staff) saying the exact opposite. I then ask to speak to the owner to get some clarification on what was going on. I was told to call her on her cell phone. At this point, this is when things "go left" as they say. I was greeted with an exacerbated woman saying over and over in a raised voice, "I don't know what you want me to do! I just don't know what you want from me!!" It felt as if I had joined in the middle of a conversation I wasn't privy to before. It was as if she annoyed I brought up the discrepancies of messaging her staff was telling me. And at no point did the owner of this holistic wellness center apologize for the mix up until I mentioned the omission of an apology. At this point I was in no mood to do business with this establishment, let alone get a massage from anyone associated with Indu. The vibe was off...and my muscles were tight. I was really surprised by the unprofessional nature of the owner and the disorganization of scheduling from the company. I'll look for my wellness elsewhere in the future. Ps The one star is for the nice setup they have in the waiting area. I'll definitely go back if ownership changes hands. read more

DO NOT BUY A GIFT CARD HERE Husband got me a gift card for my birthday. I cannot book online because it's an invalid number. It probably got written down wrong. So I've been calling for 2+ months to figure things out. Nobody ever answers. I've left 3 messages. No return calls, so I go in to work it out. Turns out they don't keep records of gift card numbers. They attempt to use the card via the online system--only they can't get it to work either. Their answer? Call us to book. I'm in there in person because I haven't been able to get a human via phone for 2 months. The manager (Mary Steinke) is called and instantly has an aggressive tone (mad that the receptionist and I interrupted her while she's in class on a Saturday morning), argues that I never left a message, and essentially accuses me of trying to scam them for a refund of a stolen gift card. UPDATE: Husband did get a refund same day... after Ms. Steinke yelled at him on the phone for several minutes. He was on the call in the car (on speaker) with his coworker who was absolutely appalled. Clearly, Ms. Steinke communicates one way in response to reviews and another when speaking to her directly. I hope for the sake of her practitioners that she learns from this regretful experience. So many things could have been done differently: void the number and give me a new one, keep a gift card log, apologize and try to figure out if you have a phone issue or if some is slacking and deleting messages--all this is better than accusing me of being a liar and thief. I have no doubt the practitioners here are excellent (and the receptionist was great but unable to resolve my issue). Management leaves a lot to be desired, and for this reason I'll never go back. Do not buy a gift card here--the experience has been the opposite of a soothing, relaxing experience. They supposed to be calling my husband to verify I didn't steal the card and issue him a refund. It was reassuring that they are taking COVID-19 precautions very seriously, so pre-appt interview, temperature check, questionnaire, mask and hand washing policies are all in place. 3.5- My husband and I went today for our first time. When we lived in NYC we had our favorite place in China Town. They were very firm and really worked out your tight/sore muscles. We have been looking for somewhere similar since moving here but this was not the place. I called ahead and asked if my masseuse could do hard pressure and was told yes. When we walked in it was pretty hot. They do not have AC but multiple fans going. Not the biggest issue, but just warmer than I would have liked. The staff is very friendly. They were attentive to your needs and accommodating. The massage started and my masseuse asked me how the pressure was. I told her that I like hard pressure so she could go harder but she mentioned that I was tight and she didn't want to shock my muscles with that right away. I understood and took that as "let me warm your muscles up and then I'll increase the pressure". She finished my upper body and moved to my legs. She still had not increased the pressure. I asked a second time if she could increase the pressure. It got better from there but still wasn't what I was looking for. My husband said he had the same experience with his masseuse. At the end she did give me a stretch to loosen up my muscles, which I liked. If you are looking for a Swedish (gently rub your muscle) type massage then it is great, but that is not what I wanted. I really wanted to work out the sticky spots in my muscles and get rid of that lactic acid. I feel a little better after that massage but no where near what I should. It also stinks that I paid 90 bucks for it. In NYC we paid 50. read more

Their pricing is reasonable in my opinion, I loved how intimate, affirming and intentional my massage felt, it was very much catered to my needs at the time and Hanna took her time ensuring I had the right pressure on the right places, as someone with joint pain and some nerve damage, this felt like an excellent approach to ensure I could fully relax.
