With some (entirely pleasant) back and forth, we landed on a price that felt good to everyone. It is a beautiful piece which I have no intention of ever taking off. The experience was a true pleasure. We got to chatting and mentioned that our son was being Bar Mitzvah-ed and we were thinking about maybe an ID bracelet to mark the occasion. Within moments we were holding samples and giving engraving instructions. Another pleasant experience. When we asked if they knew of a good place to get Kiddush cups they made a phone call and moments later, two beautiful Kiddush cups showed up. Was there no end to what they were willing and able to do for us? The next morning, we pulled up to collect the engraved items and I asked if they might be able to solder something onto my charm bracelet. Ten minutes later, it was done. It was a much more comfortable/welcoming experience than New Top nearby & less crowded than Popular Jewelry (more selection as well!) I had to wait to have the ring resized, but the work was done really fast (about 10 - 20 mins? Can't recall any longer). Price wise, I bought it when I knew a lot less about buying gold (find out the price per gram & then the weight of the piece you're buying lol. Multiply, that's the melt value. Stores must sell jewelry for at least twice or three times the melt value to turn profit! More than that is probably kind of a rip off.) The price was somewhat consistent with the other jewelry stores, but I do believe I could have gotten it for cheaper if I'd haggled more (I believe it was ~$100-130?). The experience was pleasant though: calm and inviting. Definitely what I prefer over some of the more hectic/less welcoming shops. Jenny made a few engagement ring jokes and slipped her card to us so we could "come back for the wedding rings" soooooo be warned of that. Albeit busy, an associate (Albert) rushed to greet me and asked if he could help. As I asked if he had a piece that I wanted, he asked if I had purchased something a year ago. I was shocked to see that he had remembered me. Albert continued to guide me to my desired accessory and talked about the awesome features of the piece. He definitely knew his stuff. In addition, he asked if he could put in his two cents about the piece and I welcomed it. He said that there was a better and cheaper model. I was also shocked by this. Not only was he helping me get a better model, but he was also losing revenue in the process. I welcomed this and genuinely liked the new piece before asking what the price was. As a returning customer, he gave me a great discount. As I was a little bit suspicious I asked for a moment alone and did a quick google search of the piece. Not only did it have great reviews, but his price was cheaper than what I could find online. I decided to buy the piece. Albert came back, took out and wrapped up a non-floor model piece, and told me how to set it up and the like. I basically didn't even have to read the manual as he had so much information. Unfortunately, the new ring did not meet the same quality standards and craftsmanship of the first one. It had a brushed finish, whereas I prefer polished, but the main problems were that the diamonds sank into the metal, creating an uneven surface, making the diamonds unnoticeable; the beads were mushy, ununified and overall, the execution was very low. Sadly, the company refused to acknowledge these very noticeable differences (they stood firmly by their work and wanted me to send it back to them only so they could polish it). I reached out to Steven Kirsch and he was able to meet with me the same day. He immediately noticed the differences in the quality of the work between the two rings. When I dropped off the faulty ring the next day, he said the repair would be ready the following week, but I was notified two days later that it was finished. When he presented the repaired ring, I was amazed by the transformation - he had fixed all of the problems so it was flawless and everything I could have wished for! Based on my experience, Steven Kirsch is the ultimate professional jeweler who takes great care and pride in his work and will not disappoint.
