I visited Brian at Dalia Diamonds early on a Wednesday morning on a last minute trip from DC to get my engagement ring redo. Basically what happened is, a few of my micro-pave stones had fallen out the day before, and had compromised the band. My husband was due to go abroad to asia for 6 months on that Friday morning, so we needed to get to NY asap to get a new setting. The jeweler that we purchased our engagement ring from about 7 years ago had moved out, and Brian and his family took over that storefront about 1 year ago (although he and his family have been in the business for decades). In a minor panic, I explained to him the situation, and he (without hesitation) told me he would redo my ring setting, EVEN despite the fact that he didn't even sell me my ring (ah-maze-ing!). I told him that in fact, I'm considering a whole new setting (but still similar to what I had), and he gladly said he would give me a credit towards a new setting of my choice. Within 20 minutes, I found something that I really liked (he has dozens, if not hundreds of choices in his shop) and I decided on it pretty quickly. He told me it takes about 10 days to custom make, and he'd be in touch with me when it's ready to arrange for the shipping. He called me the following Monday saying it was ready. I was ecstatic and so excited to get my ring back! He took a couple photos to show me before he packaged it. From the photo, it looked like it might not have been exactly like I wanted, and expressed that to him by email. He said "when you receive the ring in DC, and you don't like it, I am happy to remake it just to your exact specifications, and I'll do it in front of you so you can watch". WOW!! What exceptional customer service. He sent the package out on that Monday, and I received it on Wednesday morning, only 1 week after visiting his shop. I am absolutely thrilled how it came out, photos just don't do it justice. It fits my 2.93 cushion cut stone perfectly and I'm so impressed with his care and service throughout the entire process. I brought in my Gucci watch because I needed a new battery. The man replaced the battery, but could not close the watch back up. He started using a lot of force with my watch, and decided to use a presser to close it up. He failed miserably. So I took it to another place the same day, and it turns out, you're not supposed to use a presser. He was supposed to take the red band out, put it around the cap and close it back with his hand, NOT using a presser. It also turns out that because he used the presser with so much force, he ruined my watch, incurring even more cost for me. If you don't know a thing about what you're supposed to be doing, especially with a luxury watch, don't be in the business. You ruined my watch and cost me more. read more

I love Dalia Diamonds! Dalia was probably the 6th store I went to while looking to upgrade my wedding and engagement rings last year. I love their non pushy approach so much that this is why I decided to really give them a sale. They are all so nice and their quality of jewelry and selection is AMAZING. They also really take the time to explain the quality of the diamonds and how you can alter the clarity, color and size to fit your budget. I chose the rings back in April 2014 and put them on hold for a few hundred dollars. I said that I would be back in a few months to pay them off. I came back in August (with no question asked when I would be picking them up in between) and offered to pay them a little less to take the rings home that day. They said they couldn't offer an added discount but I could apply through their credit card company for a credit card to pay the $1500 I owed without interest for 6 months. So I did it and took the engagement ring home that day. They fit my diamond and my setting within 30 mins and I was on my way. I had told them I would come back in 2 months to pay for my wedding band but it ended up being more like 6 months and they didn't even bat an eyelid. They didn't call or anything they just kept it to the side with my name on it, half paid for. I came in and gave them the rest of the money to pay for the wedding band and they offered to clean my rings (for free) as often as I would like. I came back in 2 months later after a recent trip home where my sister noticed that the diamonds on both my wedding band and engagement ring didn't match up. I took them back to Dalia and they offered to add another diamond to my wedding band at no extra cost and had me go right up to the jeweler. The jeweler told me it would take an hour and asked if I wanted to wait. I didn't wait but came back a few days later to pick up my perfectly matched wedding band. Their service is TOP notch. I am not really one for service but these guys are OUTSTANDING. They really care and try to give you the best quality for your money. I would hands down recommend them to anyone that is looking for stunning jewelry. I am Australian and I have told all my friends back home about Dalia and i said if they ever make a trip to New York and want to upgrade to go to these guys. True professionals! I decided to try it out and had a budget that was pretty low in mind and the first shop I went to was Dalia and found an amazing ring for an amazing price. They said lots of amazing things about the diamond quality and all that I didn't understand and maybe didn't believe at the time. When I returned home I had a small independent jeweler look at it and he said they were very good quality diamonds, better than I would get from a chain jewelry store, and for a FRACTION of the price!! Now - update a year later - I lost one of the small diamonds in my ring and remembered there was a warranty if they get lost (which cost nothing - at a chain jeweler it would have been hundreds of dollars). The only thing was I had to SHIP my ring to NYC from California. It made me nervous but I insured it (for the appraised value on the certificate they gave me which was MUCH more than I paid). They called and emailed me when they received the ring, putting me at ease and fedex'd it back the SAME DAY fully insured (paid by them). They aren't personable and are impatient when you try to negotiate. Ring box is cheap and fell apart after a few times opening and closing it. Broke my ring and I called and sent an email for quote to fix or replace and NO RESPONSE. The next time I visited NYC, I went by and they acted like they were too busy to deal with me and I wasn't a past customer. They have never been pushy or pressured us into making a purchase. You go there again, because of the ease of business that they provide. They have been very helpful with our time constraints and issues and have great financing options too ! They showed us great solitaire pieces from the get go. Others shops have a tendency to first try and sell the slightly colored diamonds or extremely flawed diamonds. If you have not done your research about the cut clarity color & carat you could get fooled. But that was certainly not the case here. I would definitely refer this business.
