Several years ago, I bought a ring made by a small California jewelry company. I love the ring, so I recently special-ordered a new ring online from the same company. Unfortunately, the new ring did not meet the same quality standards and craftsmanship of the first one. It had a brushed finish, whereas I prefer polished, but the main problems were that the diamonds sank into the metal, creating an uneven surface, making the diamonds unnoticeable; the beads were mushy, ununified and overall, the execution was very low. Sadly, the company refused to acknowledge these very noticeable differences (they stood firmly by their work and wanted me to send it back to them only so they could polish it). I reached out to Steven Kirsch and he was able to meet with me the same day. He immediately noticed the differences in the quality of the work between the two rings. When I dropped off the faulty ring the next day, he said the repair would be ready the following week, but I was notified two days later that it was finished. When he presented the repaired ring, I was amazed by the transformation - he had fixed all of the problems so it was flawless and everything I could have wished for! We found Steven Kirsch online, and at first we were hesitated with making such a big purchase based only on recommendations from online users. However, the reviews are 100% true! Steven is an exceptional artist, and Sandra is super helpful and nice. Steven helped us source the diamond, and made the engagement ring and bands for us. They spent so much time with us helping us design the ring and you could tell that Steven is a true artist and really takes into account your lifestyle needs when designing the ring. The customer service is also exceptional. When my fiancées band came a little loose (is actually my fiancées fault because we flew in to see Steven and his finger was swollen from the airplane ride) he offered to take it back and Mail it to us at no additional charge. I also want to note that it's not THAT expensive. You're really paying for the quality here and in my opinion it's a steal compared to some of the shoddy quality work that brand names (de beers, tiffanys etc) charge much higher prices for. Steven was so easy to work with and accommodating with timing (to come in to look at diamonds, see the finished product, and sizing!). His handcrafted pieces are stunning, and I couldn't be happier with my engagement ring! I went with the Tiffany style, 6 prong, with a slightly thinner band than the actual Tiffany style, which I've always thought was too thick (unless you have a 2.5 carat to balance it out). I would definitely recommend Steven to any girl who wants a gorgeous engagement ring that she will love forever! read more

I worked with Steven (and Sandra) long distance from Ft. Lauderdale and commissioned Steven to customize his rose gold Casablanca petal basket ring for my 2.5 carat cushion diamond. From the signed work order to the delivery of the completed ring on my finger was exactly 15 days, which I think is a super human achievement especially considering the work on this ring is absolute perfection! I have had the ring one week now and more I stare at it (which as been A LOT!) the more amazed I am at the level of detail and literal perfection that has gone into this ring! I am one of those that typically finds something once she gets it home and I was actually nervous to look at my ring closely because I just didn't want to find anything wrong with it. Well as the week has gone by, I have literally taken a loupe to my ring and it is not only the most BEAUTIFUL RING FOR ME, but it is obviously made with such pride and Steven has clearly earned his reputation for being a master in his field! Working with Steven and Sandra was effortless. They called and emailed when they were supposed to and Steven's customization ideas were exactly what I wanted or was about to ask for. He lined the inside basket and under halo in platinum in order to reflect the diamond more white since my setting is in rose gold. He raised up the setting just a touch to accommodate a round eternity band so it wouldn't rub on the basket or donut. I thought about asking for pave' on the donut, but never did, however, Steven surprised me and it arrived with pave' on the donut! Thank you Steven! And I believe he made the shank just a tiny bit wider as I didn't want it too thin. I love the ring and my husband has told me several times that it is the most beautiful, exquisite setting he has ever seen! We have just commissioned Steven this week to create the matching custom eternity wedding band in rose gold as well. BTW, quick note on pricing. I think Steven's pricing is fantastic! Consider what you pay for a Tacori or Tiffany setting which are CAD and cast and then realize the workmanship and quality that goes into a Steven Kirsch setting? In my opinion, there is no comparison and SK is worth ever penny :) read more

Just proposed to my now fiancee with a ring I had custom made by Steven Kirsch and I couldn't be happier! I had gone into the process by going ring shopping at the big brand name places with my fiancee to get an idea of what she wanted and after going to Harry Winston she fell in love with their Cushion Cut Micro Pave ring (http://www.harrywinston.com/store/engagement/diamond-rings-2/products/cushion-cut-micropave) . Rather than paying the ridiculous markup for the Harry Winston name I decided to try and find a jeweler to make the ring for me. I did a bunch of research online and everyone on Pricescope agreed that there were three people in the country who did the best work for this style (Steven Kirsch, Victor Canera and Leon Mege). I decided to go with Steven since I read that people had the best experience with him and he was in NYC where I live. He sourced the diamond for me, finding me an amazing stone that met the specifications that I wanted (2.59 ct F/VS2) at an unbelievable price. For the actual ring he is more expensive than your run of the mill jeweler (but comparable with Victor and Leon) but well worth it as I can only imagine what it would have cost me to buy this ring at Harry Winston (the ring that I saw there for slightly more money all in was only 1.3 ct) The final product was absolutely stunning and included a couple of design changes that I think make it better than the Harry Winston design that we originally liked. My fiancee wanted a slightly thicker band and then Steven also added a second halo around the outside of the ring perpendicular to the primary halo (facing out). Amazing!! I unfortunately had a bad experience buying an engagement ring and I went to Steven, after hearing about him through mutual friends, to see if he could fix it and he went far and beyond what I could have expected. Dear Yelpers - I'm writing this review (this is my first Yelp review EVER) - b/c I want to help all of the brides and grooms to be along the somewhat scary path of ring shopping - I hope that my experiences and insight will help to guide you in the quick, easy, and right direction! I couldn't be more thrilled with the ring that Steven made for me - I've gotten so many compliments already! The jeweler promised him the ring that he asked for - but turned out to do a really poor and sloppy job. The ring was very far from the Harry Winston model, and it ended up looking like a beautiful stone in a very poorly matching setting. So I was determined to fix it - I plan to wear it forever - after all. So I got to researching and tried to find the BEST MICRO PAVE WORK IN NEW YORK. What I kept finding is these positive reviews about Steven Kirsch. I reached out to him and made an appointment. He was really great and helpful, and not pushy in the least - very comforting right from the bat. He's a young guy and super friendly and easy to get along with. He showed me models of his work, gave me a good quote, and I decided to go for it. I was nervous, since even though the quote was good, it was still very pricey given that I needed a whole new setting - and I was paying for this on my own, since I didn't want my fiancee to pay for his jeweler's neglectful and careless work product. Steven told me not to worry, that he understood exactly what I wanted, and that all would be ok. AND HE COULDNT HAVE BEEN MORE RIGHT. 5 weeks later, I have a STUNNING ring - better than I could have ever hoped for. He truly did an unbelievable job, see for yourselves - the pictures are just below. I personally don't think the pictures even do the ring justice - it's just so unbelievably gorgeous in person. Steven is a master of his craft. My advice: LOOK NO FURTHER. Trust Steven, let him take care of you - he'll understand exactly what you want and do a remarkable job making it happen. Steven Kirsch is an amazing artist - I will be forever grateful to him for making my engagement ring so much more beautiful than I could have hoped for. I went to him to see if he could make a ring like the David Yurman crossover engagement ring with a cable band and a diamond halo - and he delivered above and beyond. The ring turned out so much more beautiful than the David Yurman rings and I could not be happier. I took the ring back to him last week to see if he could resize it since it was a bit loose and he happily resized it within 5 minutes and brought it back out to me to try the size again. He did this again and again for the next 15 minutes to resize the ring little by little to get the size just right. I was nervous about taking the ring back to have it cut and resized, but he made sure to get it the perfect size without changing the appearance of the unique cable band - it looks as good as new! He took the rest of the day to perfect the band and to make sure it looked flawless and I was able to pick it up the very next day (he stayed at the office on a Saturday and waited for me to get there - I was an hour late because of parade traffic) and he did not even charge me for the resizing. I would trust Steven to make any jewelry for me and I highly recommend him for anyone looking for an artist to make a one of a kind engagement ring. I still get compliments on the ring everyday - and I smile every time I look down at it! read more

My fiancé and I went to Steven to design our engagement ring. I had two styles in my head - the Tiffany setting and the baguette three-stone setting - but had a hard time deciding between them. Steven is so patient and professional that he gave me all the suggestions and showed me different possibilities. We finally went for Tiffany setting. Even though it seemed to be a pretty simple design, my fiancé and I are very particular about the craftsmanship (that's why we went to Steven!) so it's really not an easy job! Steven did a terrific job on the ring, finding the perfect ratio of the band width and prone angle. And again throughout the whole process, he's very patient about our particular request. While he has his own style of details, he also respects what we like/want. Detailed and efficient - we cannot be happier! I would come back in the future for other jewelry design and would recommend to anyone who's making their engagement rings. read more

We came to Steven with a loose round diamond. Steven made a beautiful engagement ring for us! He is very easy to work with and responsive throughout the process. After trying on a dozen different sample rings he showed us, we confirmed our initial thinking of a solitaire. It turned out absolutely stunning. Steven's craftsmanship is first class. A simple solitaire so elegant made by Steven. During the process, Steven sent us pictures as he worked on the ring so we got to look at how the ring came in shape. My fiance and I went to Steven to design my engagement ring last year. I didn't really have a "vision" of what the ring should look like (other than a photo that I somewhat liked). Steven took my convoluted ideas and designed an absolutely incredible piece. He is very pleasant to work with and the ultimate product was much nicer than anything at Tiffany's or other retail stores!! The micropave work is absolutely stunning and he obviously only used quality stones for the design. The gentleman my fiance bought the engagement stone from was with us when we picked it up and he readily admitted that his shop could never have designed anything as delicate and beautiful.
