I offered to come in earlier than 1st appointment of day or last one of day; I was told to call on Monday (a holiday) to see if someone canceled. REALLY???? Plus, that dentist was in greenwood and my wife and I had moved to the far west side of Plainfield. So we began searching. Luckily, so luckily, we found Dr. Maupin. When we first got our teeth cleaned here, my wife had 7 cavities and I had 8! That was 6 months after our previous cleaning with the above mentioned, likeable, expensive dentist. So, although he was likeable, he clearly was doing nothing to help our oral health. After 3 years, some fillings, and a multitude of cleanings at Saratoga Family Dental with Dr. Maupin, we still love it here. We recently moved to the north east side of Indianapolis. Our new home is near a plethora of dentists, but we drive 45 miles just to see Dr. Maupin. If you need dental work, get here now. You won't regret your decision.

I have extreme dental anxiety (I had 2 open heart surgeries due to badly done root canals at…read moreanother dentist) and have never been treated with such disdain as I was the first moment I walked into this practice. They initially refused treatment because they saw I'd been crying in the car, although I was calm by the time I came in. The front desk reacted in such a was that my anxiety I'd tried so hard to quell in the car increased 10 fold. They taunted me for being afraid, sending me into a panic attack, and refused treatment. I left and tried again a few weeks later with my husband present but the dentist herself was so condescending and completely lacking in compassion, I left with a serious infection, in a great deal of pain, and with NO improvement in my teeth. This practice is NOT suitable for ANYONE with even SLIGHT dental anxiety. If you have even an inkling of fear or dental anxiety, PLEASE do yourself a favor and go ANYWHERE else. They are 100% not equipped to deal with any cases requiring compassion, care, or a gentle hand.

His receptionist was able to quickly get me into his office and I'm now wearing a new replacement after only two weeks of wearing a temporary. The last 4 appointments I went to I was seen by a retired dentist who did all of the main dental hygiene work and then a young girl who was NOT a dental hygienist or anything official (I know because we had a conversation about her going to schooling for this eventually) came in and did a half ass dental polish. Then when you go to check out you can't get back in for your next 6-month cleaning it's atleast 9 months. If you have to reschedule (shit happens in 9 months) you again will not get in until another 9 months. The retired Dentist is Dr. Dodds, I believe. He is nice and does his best. I don't have any real complaints about him truly. Dr. Cheesman is kind of loud and arrogant and definitely does a rushed look over. In my opinion, he bit off more that he can chew and likes the $$$ more than actually talking care of his patients correctly. I went to a new dentist, and they found a fracture in my tooth (verified with an actual picture) they said, "it had been there for a while and there was decay under the filling" resulting in crown. They also showed me (with a picture) that I had two teeth that had sealant missing and I had complained about cold sensitivity in that tooth multiple times at Cheesman's office. Honestly, I think if you are a person who doesn't have any problems and just needs a routine cleaning (might be a half-assed one) about once a year they will be sufficient. But if you have problem teeth and/or want proper dental hygiene treatments every 6 months consider going elsewhere.
