I was not having pain but my dentist felt that I needed a root canal prior to placing a post as my crown was not staying on with glue. I was in for an evaluation in 4 weeks then 1 week later for the root canal. The team at the Noblesville office were welcoming and kind. Dr. Morretton came in after staff did their x-ray of tooth #4 and explained the planned treatment and numbing needed. He numbed the area before injecting the area in front and back of the tooth, felt pressure but no pain. He the did some drilling and locating the nerve canals, then did each root canal. Advised to take Tylenol 500 mg and ibuprofen 600 mg every 6 hours as needed for pain and start before the anesthetic wore off. Took Tylenol initially as had in the car and took naproxen 440 mg when I arrived home. No pain after the 1st dose of pain meds. Pleased with the care and results received. read more

It is a 35 minute drive but I'll drive there anytime because the staff is amazing and the doctor and assistant including the front staff were so nice and they work with their patients needs. Honestly the energy speaks for itself when you walk in. Smells amazing. They have a nice selection of drinks and snacks in the waiting area. Everyone was kind and spoke to you when you were there. Dr. Vail & her assistant (can't remember her name) communicated with me so well throughout my entire mini procedure, not sure if it is actually called that. Either way - it was to the point today that I believe the Dr called me herself today to see how I was doing! This is what stood out and confirms how great of a practice they have. I was referred to for tooth pain and saw Dr. Vail and an assistant , Shelly. I was very impressed with their kindness and care. They got me in as an emergency and told me the wait could be very long. However they saw me immediately and took good care of me. I felt heard and supported. They took time with me when I couldn't identify the tooth that was causing pain and when they couldn't determine the cause of my pain they provided next steps and a plan for coming back. I never liked going to the dentist and have had so many bad experiences. This was My first visit with Dr. Vail. Everyone was fantastic from the front desk to Dr. Vail. I was treated so well and the procedure was painless. I had two root canals done at the same time. It was a process of three visits and the care of the staff members was as good as my first visit. I have been seen in both of her locations and the offices are so clean and up to date with the best equipment. I absolutely love Dr. Vail. I went to a different dentist's office in Carmel (Tom Nasser) for this root canal and left before the procedure due to the awful treatment from the dentist. He yelled at me because of my gag reflex and asked if I am on depression medication. He made me feel belittled and exploited. I am anxious when I go to any doctor but everyone at Endodontic Specialists listened and took great care of me. The entire staff was caring and concerned with my well being through the entire procedure. It took 2 visits before I was comfortable and able to have treatment. I'm so thankful I found Endodontic Specialists. If you need any type of dental treatment completed I highly and strongly recommend a nearly painless experience with Endodontic Specialists. I was very impressed with the staff from the moment I called to schedule the dreaded root canal. Really root canals aren't to bad, it's the numbness and long mouth stretching that are the hard parts. Dr M was awesome as was the assistant, sorry I forgot her name. I was told what my cost would be after insurance on my initial call, the did a great job making sure I knew what I would owe. The did several tests and X-rays before determining I actually needed one. The did an X-ray after the procedure to make sure all was good. At that time they noticed an air pocket and immediately fixed it. Nothing better than Ching your work I could of went back to work after the procedure but decided to stay at home The next day the did a follow up call to check on me. I was referred to Endodontic Specialists. I saw Dr. Vail for pain on the bottom left side of my mouth. This office schedules time into the initial appointment for a root canal. I was not sure if the the tooth that was causing pain was the last tooth, or the one in front of it. Dr. Vail put something cold on each tooth. I felt pain but because she put the cold product on both teeth so close together I was unable to identify which tooth the pain was coming from. I suggested that Dr. Vail do the test again, with a delay in between the testing of each tooth. She did the test again with only a minute or two in between. I felt that she was rushing the appointment. I told her that I still couldn't identify the tooth, that I had meant maybe 10-15 minutes in between each tooth. She just looked at me and said, "Would you like me to treat it?" I asked her for clarification as to what "treat it" meant since she obviously didn't know which tooth had pain. She said, "Do a root canal on the number 19th tooth?" I said," Are you going take a 50/50 chance that you chose the right one?" She said, "Yes." I said "No." Then she said,"You could come back again after the pain gets worse and we could take another look." I left the office. The office and reception employees were nice enough, even though they didn't wear masks as the website stated. But I had no plans to return this office. When I received the bill I emailed the office to question as to why an evaluation appointment that gave me no definitive answer would be so expensive. I mentioned my thoughts on the doctor recommending a root canal without knowing which tooth was causing pain and that I found it inexcusable and questionable practicing to ask if I wanted her to perform a root canal when she didn't know which tooth was the problem. I wrote that I was going to leave an honest review about the office. The office manager wrote me back and proceeded to go through my file, which was incorrect, starting with which side of my mouth had pain. She also said that they had spent over an hour with me, which was untrue as well. She said that if it was a monetary factor they want me to be satisfied with my treatment and if it comes down to them not charging the balance then she was happy to write it off but didn't think it was fair to do that if I were going to make negative comments. I thought trying to buy my review was inexcusable and decided to check with my insurance company to see if I could dispute charges that the dentist didn't take the time or practice the skill of finding out the answer as to which tooth had pain. I was then told that I could fill out a Quality of Care Complaint/Grievance, which I have done. I am also going to file a complaint with the American Dental Association. I would definitely not recommend Dr. Vail. read more

Oh my gosh, just where do I begin? Before I go into telling you how wonderful Dr Vail is, let me tell you our history. My 8 year old son had trauma to his front permanent tooth due to taking a baseball to the mouth and the next day getting it caught in a trampoline net. Needless to say, his front tooth fell right out, root and all. Being so young and already having experienced dental problems and having major anxiety, this was a big ordeal. He underwent emergency reimplantation and nearly 8 months of procedures including root canal and root therapy at another endodontist office right down then road off 116th street. The first surgery involved a anesthesiologist to put him under general anesthesia. The second time, we opted to not put him under general anesthesia. The "Doctor" prescribed Valium to give him the morning of his treatment and she was planning use local anesthetic. He screamed the entire time!!!! She kept telling him it was all in his head and that he couldn't feel a thing. After a painful hour of her working on the nerve of his tooth, we were finally able to take our little boy home. However, he needed a third procedure, per her treatment plan. The day before his surgery, the "Doctor" had her office gal call us to inform us she was releasing my son from her care. What!!!???? This left us in a very emotional and nerve wrecking position. In tears, I called his dentist for a recommendation and that's when we found Dr Vail. Calling the office and still in tears, they wanted to see him right away. We went in for a consultation and I shared how "difficult" a patient my son was and that his last endodontist refused to work on him. Dr Vail reassured us that he will be fine and that she will ONLY use local anesthesia. No need for GA or Valium. I thought she was crazy but now I know she was confident. My son handled it like a pro too! While she was numbing him, she kept asking if he could feel it and he kept saying "yes!" We could all tell when he couldn't feel it any longer because his shoulders relaxed and opened his mouth wide. (It was then that I realized that his first endodontist didn't have him numb at all! Poor kiddo!) The surgery with Dr Vail went really really well! We're now 5 years later and he is in need of braces. We went to a consult with Dr Vail to ask if his tooth could withhold it. She again comforted us and provided her professional opinion. Two month after that visit, I get a piece of mail from the office. I was scared to open it as I was waiting for bad news. There was a check in the envelope and a nice letter stating that we had a credit as insurance had finally kicked in! What a blessing! Not only have we found a great endodontist that has compassion, confidence and skills, but her office also has integrity and good ethics! Love this place and although I hope to never need endodontic services again, I would definitely return and recommend anyone to this office! read more
