    Deb at Indian beach .

I loved the quiet more secluded beach! There weren't many people there. It was a Monday afternoon 3/ 23/26.

A wonderful beach on the gulf side of Florida. It's a very clean beach and I think less crowded than some of the other beaches. We did go during off season, but this beach was quieter than the other ones. There are some small restaurants around this beach, which is nice. It's a really cute area. You do have to pay to park, but cheaper than the bigger beaches, like Clearwater.

My favorite beach, on the weekdays you can still find free parking. The sand is soft and lately the water has been soo clear. People do respect the beach by keeping her clean and I really appreciate that. Hating the time change because i miss sunset these days but i still have the weekends.

Have been coming here on and off for 7 years. We stay away in the winter due to the snow bird crowd. Too cool anyway. The beach is beautiful, clean and sand is soft. There is a nice gradual slope to enter the ocean. Mostly find local and tourist families. At the main beach there is a pay to park lot , and it is small. There are restrooms and showers. A chair rental company supplies 2 chairs and an umbrella for $45 / day. The beach never gets too crowded, except during the snow bird season. There are several beach access points with small parking areas off Gulf Blvd.

Our favorite family beach !!! Great clean blue water, usually a nice clean beach . Not to many people. You have to come early morning to find parking at a beach access but it's a great beach we come a few times a month all year long

I was here on a Monday late morning. I was able to get parking and the beach wasn't crowded. The white sand and warm water were great. There weren't a lot of amenities in the area which I kinda liked. It wasn't a zoo like Clearwater Beach.

Local birds & humans agree: quaint benches and Sands by sea shore. Free parking available. Spotless home for turtles and Mammals United.

Birds and humans agree; Free parking. Home of sea turtles. Quaint seating for Mammals United, children, and non nom mommies.

My first time in the area and was pleased to hear there was still a beach that had free parking. We made many sunset trips to the beach to play and relax after a long day. There is only one handicap parking spot at each public entrance. There are a handful of spots to park on each area. Easy to turn around if you enter and it's full. We parked at 5,4, and 1. 1 was a little difficult to see around the blind curve to take a left out of on a busy Saturday night. Small walk to the beach. Beach is very clean. This quickly became one of our all time favorite beaches to visit. There was an easy access rinse station at the end of the walkway.

Can't recommend this beach enough...but not at all. Go to Clearwater or Siesta Key please. :) Not unlike a fellow Yelper friend, I'd like this beach to stay untraveled, untouched, and unbothered. It's quiet, only mildly used by area hotels, and clean and neat. I didn't cruise the strip in the area enough to determine quality of restaurants and retail, but I imagine there's enough on Gulf Drive to keep you fed and hydrated. Only issue I came across was public restrooms. I just might have isolated myself to too small a section of the beach to know, though.

Great calm waters! It was so relaxing and great for the family! Great access points from parking lots. We just used the pay to park it was easier than finding free public parking.

    Lots of seaweed today

Most (if not all) of the West Florida Gulf Coast beaches are beautiful with white sandy beaches and blueish-green waters. IRB is no different. Public street parking at IRB is limited and difficult to find a spot. This is more convenient for local residents or vacation rental visitors. Others have mentioned parking lots which tend to fill up as well. It's Memorial Weekend and it was a beautiful day with perfect temperature. It was also exceptionally crowded today.

It's a special beach for me, where my love and I spent our first Valentine's day date. So we come and visit it frequently. In January 2022 it was a lovely time. The sky was clear, the air was warm and the sun was setting. We arrived just as the sun began to dip on the horizon. This is a great place to come and see the sunset.

If you aren't a Florida native don't come to this beach! Go to Clearwater beach or St. Pete. This beach has nothing but awesome vibes and views HOWEVER St. Pete and Clearwater would much rather have ANY visitors go there first and actually never ever find out about Indian rocks beach :) lol jk but Indian rocks is a gem. It's quiet and the small city and beach area is home to several locals. You get that small beach town vibe from here. Definitely not a party scene, but that's okay I wouldn't want it any other way. They're small restaurants and stores near by that are in walking distance too! Which is a plus!

Ask the Community - Indian Rocks Beach

    Is it a nude beach?

    For you yes.

Can you have alcohol on the beach?

No alcohol is permitted. The following is also prohibited... pets, nudity and overnight camping. Grills/bonfires need a permit

Which St. Petersburg beach has easy and close access from parking to the beach?

Most of the St. Pete beaches are very easy access, which is why St. Pete is so awesome. Indian Rocks has a big public lot but you need to get there early. Treasure Island also has big lots. You can try Pass-a-grille as well.

    Is it shallow? Kids friendly?

Yes, very kid friendly -- we went with our kiddos and there are plenty of families there w/younger kiddos. Shallow and beach is very nice.

What is the parking situation? free? availability?

There are free lots with signs that state public beach access. Look for those.

    Are dogs allowed on beach?

No, but dog Park across street!

We saw more birds than people as I think most folks just go to the beach. This park includes three distinct environments... beach, freshwater marshes and forest all very close to each other, with easy-to-follow unmarked trails and clean public bathrooms. We walked and explored and enjoyed for several hours, seeing osprey with young chicks, a pileated woodpecker, herons, ducks, a variety of stunning warblers, a loggerhead shrike and more! We also saw a variety of native butterflies and plants/trees/flowers, so I contributed those identifications since that's more my area of expertise. I was thrilled to see, for the first time in my life, the elusive Blue-Winged Warbler! Score! While I didn't obtain a photo, the sighting was definite and confirmed by my friend / guide / birding expert! Life is great when a small group of friends explore a beautiful and serene park, taking our time to really take it all in and as a bonus, I am able to add to my growing bird life list.

Nothing fancy, but clean. You do have to pay $2/hr to park here. And it is a little annoying to have to walk your ticket back to your car to display it on your dashboard. But you'll get over it quickly. You're at the beach, for Pete's sake! You can pay with cash or card. The beach is clean and the access/park area is also nicely kept. Outdoor showers are available to rinse the sand off. There are also many benches to sit and enjoy the view. Riptides are common in this area and I also find much of this strip of beach to be rocky and just not the best place if you want to get in and enjoy the water. So swim at your own risk. Also, the seagulls are quite aggressive in this area. There are a high amount of vacation rentals in this strip of beach and many people irresponsibly feed the birds. So they will attack you in large flocks and steal things right from your hands. We moved twice because of people close to us feeding the gulls. My daughter pulled out a baggie that had non food items and the seagulls attacked her and stole the bag, thinking they were stealing food. Not my favorite beach access in the area, but it's fine for a nice walk. With the high amount of people vacaying in the area and the gangster seagulls, it's not the best spot to lay on the beach for some peaceful beach relaxing.
