I swear I have left a review of Clearwater Beach over the 18 years that I have lived here but it seems to be missing. Weird as this is one of my favorite beaches and I used to come here a couple days a week. This latest trip I was with my friend that was visiting from Michigan and even that wasn't the first time of me taking her there. Oh well, I'll find other pictures from over the years and add them as I go. Parking has always been a pain in the ass here so I make sure that when I plan on spending the day here, I get up very early to be able to find parking where I do not need to search around forever or even use the parking garage as their price is outrageous. AWFUL. It's pretty much set up so that only people staying in the hotels can access it without trouble. Do your research on places to park and the cost. If ya know ya know! No wonder this is a top vacation spot in the US. The beach is beautiful and the water as emerald color as can be. Yes, there are a lot of people there but it is a beach after all. If you go early enough you can get a great spot and if you stay a bit north there isn't near as much traffic. There are dogs allowed on the north side which is nice but they must stay on leash and you MUST clean up after them. Many dog owners have longer leashes so their dogs can run a bit. Just be mindful of people laying on the beach. As far as I'm concerned there is plenty of space for all it is a big beach. Enjoy and be friendly! read more

Yesterday, I spent all day on a beach in the Bahamas. Today, by chance, I've found myself on a beach in Clearwater, Florida. I must say, if anyone asked my opinion, I'd tell them to save on the overseas hassle and plan a trip to Clearwater Beach instead. This is one of the most beautiful beaches I've seen in the U.S.A. The best part is, you don't need a passport to visit this paradise! Palm Trees & Fluffy Clean White Sand Beaches will have you feeling like you're in a tropical paradise. The only downside is the limited parking. It took me about 35-40 minutes to park. Parking rates aren't too shabby; only $3.00 per hour. Overall, if you're looking for a clean & comfortable beach with warm water, white sands, waves and beautiful views, I highly recommend a visit to Clearwater Beach. Omg this beach is literal perfection. The sand is white and soft as silk, the water was nice and warm (I prefer that over freezing cold water) and the area is clean & very well maintaned. I drove 45 mins from my tampa airbnb to go to this beach & it was worth every minute. I also would recommend going in the morning like I did because I left at 12 and it was just starting to get crowded at that point. I definitely will be back!! The beach is awesome. There are outside rinsing stations along the sidewalk. There are a few public bathrooms by the water. Chairs, umbrellas and cabanas can be rented while enjoying the sun and sand. Pier 60 has vendors and entertainment starting two hours before sunset. There are various parking lots in the area. You can park close to the beach or find a nearby lot. There are Trolleys that stop around Clearwater. read more

The sand was white and cool enough to walk on, and the water was a clear blue-green. It was a beautiful sight. There were convenient foot-rinse stations and plenty of seashells, which can be fun for kids and adults alike. The water was very clean, with almost no seaweed, and surprisingly warm. Small fish swam near your feet--not for everyone, but I enjoyed it, and many others seemed to as well. The designated swim area, monitored by lifeguards, was the perfect distance before things got too deep. Chair rental prices weren't bad: a beach umbrella with two chairs was $40, a deluxe cabana with two chairs was $50, and a luxury bed with cabana was $80. Extra chairs were $15 each. However, I found it a bit unfair that rentals were only available until 5:00 p.m., though most people don't stay more than four hours anyway. A staff member came by to take payment and offered an option to tip the setup crew. Parking was affordable at $3 per hour and easy to manage. The area also had plenty of food and drink options, a few shops, and a nice pier. There were inflatable rides and trampolines nearby, though they didn't seem worth the cost. Clearwater Beach is a really nice beach and I had an enjoyable experience. My daughter wanted to go to a "real" beach for her birthday and by that she meant a crowded beach with a lot of people, etc. This was perfect for our beach day. We arrived early and were able to find parking. It was a short walk from where we parked to the actual beach. If you aren't staying in the area I recommend arriving early to get decent parking because the lots fill up fast. There is a lot of cool food/drink options close to the beach as well. The pier had a lot of fun activities and there's a playground/restrooms right by the beach. Overall: I recommend if you are looking for a beach with this kind of vibe. Trip Advisor named Clearwater Beach the USA's #1 beach in 2018, so we HAD TO check it out while visiting the area. The only problem was that it was early February and too cold and windy to fully enjoy all the sunny day activities that the area has to offer. We did walk along part of the 35 miles of its powdery sand. We also walked along Pier 60 Park, the 1080' fishing pier, where we were entertained by local musicians and break dancers. The pier is also reputed to be an excellent place to see sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico, but we didn't stay that late. We're already planning a return trip and started a "to do" list -- aquarium, boat cruise, restaurants, shopping, and of course beach and water activities. read more
