This was a last-minute beach day plan, and I'm so glad we went. We got there early Saturday and parked with no problem. I already use the parking app in other places, so pre-paying for the number of hours we planned to stay was a breeze. I did see a few people struggling with the payment machines, though. One thing to keep in mind is that I can see the parking lot filling up very easily during peak season, so getting there early is probably a good idea. The beach is just a few steps from the parking lot, and the white sand, clear water, and calm waves made for a great beach day. There are plenty of places nearby to rent beach equipment, although we brought our own. There's also plenty of space to spread out and set up your things. Pier 60 was definitely worth the trip, and it's a beach I plan to return to. We even extended our parking to stay longer! read more

If you're looking for an easy getaway from most locations such as Central Florida, this beach area is worth the trip. One of my favorite parts is walking the pier and spotting manatees swimming below, along with plenty of fish in the water. If you enjoy wildlife and sightseeing, you'll love it. There are also food options nearby if you want to grab a bite. The beach has something for everyone. Families relax under the bridge for shade, while others soak up the sun, splash in the water, or enjoy the soft sand. It's a lively, family-friendly beach with a fun atmosphere. There is a small fee if you want to walk all the way to the end of the pier 60, but you can walk about three-quarters of the way for free and along the way, there are benches where you can sit, relax, and enjoy the beautiful views. read more

A pier and boardwalk experience not to be missed. My family and I recently stayed just down the beach from Pier 60 and it was to be enjoyed, especially during sunset! The surrounding sand is so white and soft, the water is calm and clear. Not to mention, the atmosphere all around his pier is super welcoming. You'll find a local vendors, big bouncy houses and water slides for kiddos, a surf shop with local goodies, and the token ice cream shop. Oh and let's not forget the massive ferris wheel, a staple. Definitely recommend taking the trek to the end of the pier that truly jets so far out over the gulf. read more

Love this beach. The sand is white and always cool to the feet. The beach is rather large and can accommodate plenty of people. The water is almost always nice and warm and clean. This area of the beach has a concession stand nearby. Most of the time the people seem to be nice and you don't get much of a fuss with kids are people being disrespectful. They have a lifeguard on duty which is always good and police is always riding by on ATVs so it always feels safe. read more

Day trip to Clearwater from Orlando. We got a late start and got here at 130p. Chat said we should go to the pier. There's a paid parking lot right at the pier. The lot said full but you could still drive in. We waited patiently, not for long and was lucky enough to get parking within minutes. U pay by the hr. We came here on a Thursday afternoon and I paid $14 for 4hrs. There's a shop right here with bathrooms and all the things you need for the beach plus food (see menu photos). with tables outside. There are umbrellas and half dome tents on the beach. A worker at the cafe said u just go to them and someone will come up to you for payment. They also said it's 50% off at 3p but it also gets picked up at 5p. We ended up just taking shade underneath the pier. read more

I always love coming down to Clearwater when I visit Florida myself and my family had a great day this day that we visited, but we couldn't play in the water too much because the white caps were very high and they just kept coming and coming and knocking us down so we couldn't play in the water too much but we did go out on the pier and admired some of the vendors that were out there and we went into the souvenir store on the pier to pay to go further out onto the pier where they fish at which was totally gross, but we still had an enjoyable time. Clearwater never disappoints. read more

Pier 60 on Clearwater Beach is one of those places that truly lives up to the reputation. If you're anywhere near the area around sunset, it's absolutely worth making the time to walk out on the pier. The sunset views over the Gulf are simply amazing. As the sun drops toward the horizon, the sky fills with incredible colors and the reflection across the water makes for a picture-perfect scene. It's one of those moments where people naturally stop, watch, and take it all in. The pier itself is a great place to stroll, relax, and enjoy the coastal atmosphere. You'll often see street performers, small vendors, and families gathering for the nightly sunset celebration, which adds to the energy without taking away from the beauty of the view. If you're visiting Clearwater Beach, Pier 60 is a must-see spot. The sunsets alone make the trip worthwhile, and it's an easy place to slow down for a few minutes and enjoy one of the best natural views on the Gulf Coast. read more

If you are going to Clearwater Beach then this is the place to park. A semi large parking lot near the pier, as always come early to get a spot or wait until about 2p when everyone who should have applied sunscreen starts to pack up and leave. The cabana and umbrella guys have a reduced price after 3p and 2 hours at the beach is enough for me! Then you can walk the pier and prepare for the sunset. We ate at the Badfin which was a stone throw away and food was not bad. read more

Pier 60 at Clearwater Beach is one of my favorite beach spots. The sand is incredibly soft and powdery white, and the beach itself is beautiful and relaxing. Growing up close to this area, I think I took how soft the sand was for granted, but not anymore! I also love the lively atmosphere around the pier, with local vendors selling unique items and fun activities for families, including trampolines and bounce house water slides for kids. There's almost always live performance shows of breakdancers on a regular basis too. There's always something to enjoy whether you're walking the pier, watching the sunset, or just relaxing by the water. If it's too much activity going on, it doesn't take much to walk down further to more quiet and less crowded parts of the beach. Also keep in mind the time of year of your visit, like Spring Break season gets really busy. There are also plenty of big umbrella stations with lounge chairs nearby for hourly rent close to the hotels. It's a perfect destination for anyone looking to enjoy a classic Florida beach experience. Tip: if you are driving it's best to park in the Surf Shop garage where they have frequent daily specials or if you are lucky to find metered parking. read more

The Pier has a fishing area at the end ($1 entry fee) and a small snack stand. The views of the beach and area hotels are awesome. In the evening you can find hand made crafts from local vendors. There is also entertainment at the end of the pier. For .25 you can look through "binoculars" and see a view of the water or nearby beach. It was windy when we walked along the pier. You almost need a hat with strings. We held onto our caps. The area is lovely, even when overcast. read more

Great place to stop and see the sea or do a little shopping. You can rent a fishing pole and get bait if you want to try fishing right off the pier. They have snacks as well as nice restroom at the middle of the pier where you pay if you want to go to the end of the pier. Fun inexpensive way to get out on the water for kids or parents or really anybody that just wants to have fun and see more of the area. read more

I love ocean piers with their warped weathered boards and rusty nails, I love the sunrise and sunsets and that first sip of coffee with an ocean view. I love the twilight in the morning 'fore the day wakes up and the wind blowing it's salt air across my face awakening my appreciation for a brand new day or the blessings of another one in the books. Nothing slows down father time like an ocean view, this pier can host the most peaceful experience if you arrive at the right time, a view of the water painted sky along with sea shells clanging from a distance wind chime and maybe some reggae tunes from a beach side bar. It's a amazing how a few hundred feet of wooden pier can distance you from a bustling life a quarter of a mile away. Given the choice I rather be beachside with a cold beer and my favorite shades, some worn flip flops and a tank top taking in the day. All of that is here so where are you??? read more

Hubs and I used to come here at night years ago and walk the pier and beach. The pier has vendors selling their crafts and you can often stumble across some cute things. The area isn't what it used to be or maybe it's because we came during summer break. Overly crowded and too much traffic. Just the crowd that comes here and the lack of cleanliness of facilities and shops makes it a turnoff for me. I'll stick with other beaches. read more

Good location, about from the beach. You can see Pier 60 from the rooftop bar. Friendly staff and easy check-in. I would give this more like 3.5 Stars not that it isn't cool or anything I like the vendors that make their own products and sell it there that's actually pretty cool and everything. The weird thing is they charge to walk to the end of the Pier? Maybe not enough revenue comes in for this city? Not sure or upkeep of the pier? Just weird to me first time I ever encountered anything like this! Overall decent and like I said the Vendors make it good! read more

The Pier is a nice alternative if you are not in the mood to hang out on the beach, but still want to enjoy the waterview while in the shade. Not all of the pier is covered, but there are parts where you can sit down and relax. The second part of the pier starts at the store, in order to have access to the last part you pay $1 and they let you through the gate. This part is mainly occupied by a fishing crowd, and a variety of birds you can watch up close. I loved hanging out here for an hour in the shade. Enjoying the view, the weather, without the sun beating down on me. read more

Great spot for a florida sunset. It's only $1 per person to go to the end of the pier, otherwise it's free. We enjoyed walking up and down and looking at all the different vendor tables. This pier cuts through the very middle of Clearwater Beach. Though it is nothing extravagant like the Santa Monica Pier, it is still worth a walk. You will get an elevated view of both sides of the beach. And along this pier, there is a convenience store, restrooms, and an ice cream shop. Once you get closer to the water, there is a shop selling beach and fishing things. It makes sense because once when get to the end of the pier, you will a bunch of people with containers of bait fishing. Great views of the water and sunset from the pier's end too. read more

I was stayed my at a nearby hotel and spent a day at the beach. But eventually my kids got restless and wanted to fish. They had already walked down the pier on a previous day so they knew the store there rented all the equipment you need. We rented poles and bought shrimp bait. They also offer squid. Note you get a knife and can easily cut the bait to extend it as each item is sizable. You can fish until 9 pm. If your not fishing you can walk to the end for $1. The fishing this day was not great but with persistence my son did catch a sheepshead. All that matters is my kids had a good time and since I live nowhere near a beach or ocean they both loved it. read more

We spent the day at 2 beaches in Clearwater! We attempted to park on the street but totally full on a Saturday afternoon. Independent lots were 25-30 a day! If we had gotten there earlier in the day ...maybe I'd pay that price. We had 4 hours or less. Decided to park a few blocks away for under 12.00. Beautiful beach, clean sand. Great location to people watch, get a bite to eat or drink. Stores for shopping as well, clothes, souvenirs etc. Loved the laidback environment and people were respectful and friendly. We will make plans in future to get a hotel or Airbnb to stay longer than a few hours to enjoy Clearwater next time! read more

Superb view of the long super white sand beach.. It's a busy spot to stop by, particularly when it's nearly dusk and time to view Clearwater's famous sunsets. Be prepared to navigate the crowd. View of Clearwater beach is to die for. Super white sand, less crowd at the beach and sunset time, all make it really beautiful Street performers and sidewalk vendors made it very unique. Fun place to hang out and people watch. The end of the pier has an admission fee( $1 only) and is only open for a few hours a day. Most of the visitors stay back behind the "admission" area, so if you do pay the fee, you don't have nearly the number of people to contend with. It's quieter down there and more places to sit and enjoy the sunset without crazy levels of noise around you. Sunsets at the pier are a must see. it's quite beautiful from here. The parking lot is nearby, $1.25/hour and also it is at 490 Poinsettia Ave, Clearwater, FL 33767, so you are set for parking. read more
